50 globs of ectoplasm? for a WvW player? is that a typo?
The solution of Diablo3 for magic find problem is good, and applicable to GW2. If I remember correctly (too much time without play it) developers added paragon levels, that levels give you magic find % per level, to your character, not to your gear. You start gaining that levels after maximum level.
I have 80% on PvP and Achievements, that means 20% of players are worst than me, right?
Not sure, but something is different in the last days, maybe the distance you can see players or something. But not a problem.
I don’t think a 2 teams match is a “tournament”. The minimum is 4 teams, elimination (2 matches) and a 3rd match with winners. Cross server, by the way, and ranked.
They serve no purpose. Eventually they will be kicked, but even then they don’t go anywhere they just get logged, when they log back in they’ll be in the same place and still dead.
Not sure how much WvW do you play, but no, you spawn outside WvW on login, and when you enter WvW, you will be in a waypoint, alive.
@ Kal Spiro.9745
The game already kick you for inactivity, I disagree with (immediate) auto teleporting of defeated players; The only I could agree is with an additional timer (not the inactivity one) that force the teleport. You don’t always are defeated in a wipe or failure, sometimes a team member could be killed by siege, a thief or fall damage, fast res and continue.

You need a way to know which server is the player (dead or alive)

Thanks for agreeing with me!

What about the lag (skill lag) when a lot of people are inside SM?
… No matter what game you play you will usually have some serious lag of some sort with 100 people that close to each other. …
Well, it is server side lag, because you still get the lag wherever you are in the map, even solo, when people is fighting in SM. I suppose this problem will be now worst with the culling fix, unless they also reduced the resources and bandwidth used by each player on server.

Thanks, I see I am not alone.

Not related to good or bad hardware, is the confusion caused by dead (defeated) and alive players showing the exact same nameplate, things are hard to see and target when too many players are in the place (like an enemy zerg).
@ sostronk.8167
That’s a different suggestion. I mean defeated (dead) should have the different color, like gray; The downed ones get a finish icon, and they are still (alive) in combat.
Edit: This thread is about WvW (I clarify because it was moved here by moderator)
Could ArenaNet make the dead players have a different nameplate color, like grayed out? all that red nameplates are confusing as hell, at least for me.
A hundred red nameplates in the middle of the action (in a 3 servers SM attack for example), and all dead or alive players has the same red color? why? Can’t imagine after the patch that remove culling, I will see even more red names in my screen.

What about the lag (skill lag) when a lot of people are inside SM?
People that play sPvP is less than 1% maybe, the sPvP updates will come soon or later, but I think ArenaNet priority right now is to keep in the game the other 99% of people that play PvE, because the lack of endgame, etc. But don’t worry, GW2 will be eSport, or at least will get the proper update, the question is when ..
Is not that (corruption, etc), I mean, I can click the same “point of interest” 100 times and it will show the correct name on chat, but if I play 1 hour without opening the map, it’s possible the very first shift+click I do shows wrong name in chat, the problem is the map, not the chat, because I could even see the wrong name on map too. I think is something like “lag” on map not updating the name of the previous mouse over.
I have a problem doing shift+click to a place in the map, to show the name of that place in chat.
Sometimes it shows a wrong name, example, I shift+click “Klovan Post”, but the chat shows “Quentin Post”. I then need to repeat the action and it shows the right one (plus apologies in chat for calling a wrong place in WvW, very annoying)
Not sure if this only happens if you have the game in a different language (not english), maybe, because I ask to people in chat if they have the problem and no one answer.
The Mesmer Portal is an “exploit” by itself in sPvP. Could you ban that skill from tournaments? at least for a week, to see real PvP?
It’s true Thief can use Stealth too many times, it’s too much. Anyway, I have no problems with them when playing my Guardian, with the Hammer/Greatsword combination, there is nothing they can do, I even can kill 2 thieves at the same time (2vs1), normally kill one and the other run using one of the million stealths it has. But if you ask me, Mesmer clones are more ridiculous and annoying than any stealth, plus also can use stealth, some Mesmers confuse me a lot, specially in faster PvP like sPvP, not that much at WvW.
Whats up with the original plan of two weeks matches?
When I play WvW, I open the (full screen) map a LOT, many times in the middle of the action, and I constantly need to close it just to read the chat to open it again, over and over, I can’t read/write the chat at the same time I see action in the map. I think the idea is clear, and maybe is not hard at all to implement, just make the chat window “always on top”, maybe? this feature could be useful in PvE too, I suppose.
I am OK with the size of the complete UI, excluding the skill bar, but if I make the UI bigger in Options, everything in the UI is affected; then the skill bar is perfect but the rest of the UI is too big and blurred (that’s another problem)
I am not asking for GW1 UI customization implemented in GW2 (that would be great) but at least add individual sizes in options for skills, boon/conditions icons, mini-map UI, menus/panels, etc.
I have 6/10 mails, so there are space, anyway, I will try deleting some or all.
EDIT: Yes, that worked, BUT I didn’t even tried to delete because I was at 6/10 mails, weird. That looks like a bug for me.
EDIT2: Now I am getting a LOT of old (+1 month old) gold seller mails, lol. Deleting.

I bought a “Fine Transmutation Stone” 2 hours ago and never got it, no mail at all.
Is this normal? must wait? or I must contact ArenaNet for this?
… making our existing world as strong as possible, ensuring there are reasons to go to all the locations in the world we’ve already built, and strengthening the core game we’ve provided.
Love that part. That’s the right direction.
After 700 hours of gameplay I only played two dungeons in story and just one in explorable, I just don’t like or want to spend time forming groups.
Sorry if I am repetitive, but, add a Dungeon Finder, like the one in WoW. The few people against this idea could still use the normal way to form groups, with friends, guilds, etc., and ignore this feature, I can’t do that, I prefer to play some PvP/WvW instead of lose my time looking for group, after all, in WvW you play with hundreds of people immediately, no need for looking for group.
I want to play immediately when I log in, I can do that with PvP, WvW, most PvE, Story mode, maybe the only part of the game you can’t play immediately are dungeons, annoying. I want to play dungeons, they are well done and professionally developed, I die for playing all fractals, but I am NOT losing my time in LA LFG, sorry.
Items has different names in different languages, hope that helps.
I thought the same way about the stealth finishing kills until I read this thread. It seemed very cheap that they could do that and they very often did – I am constantly finished off without even knowing anyone was around me. However, after reading that other professions can do similar things with stability or other defensive skills it does not seem so bad.
I don’t really get the reasoning about Stability, you can see players with Stability (and every boon in the game), you can target them, you can even kill them (with downed skills); With Stealth you sometimes don’t even know there are a Thief finishing someone, or you, for the full 3 seconds of the finishing move, that’s a lot of time in a PvP scenario. The difference is really big, is not comparable. Stealth make downed skills useless in most of the scenarios; At the other hand, almost all downed skills are useful versus every boon in the game.
The “stealth” of rogue type class in RPGs scaled to ridiculous, that’s my opinion, they started with some evasion because of agility, and ended running around permanently invisible. That is a fake way to be “sneaky”. I have years with this opinion, and that’s one of the reasons I think being able to do something, anything, without revealing your position, is a no sense. Thieves, and any other class affected by stealth, should be revealed to enemy whatever they do, every single action. That’s the way I would program it as developer.
Thief fans are ruining my constructive thread, why take that so personal? “I am” “We are”, no friend, you are not a Thief, you are just a guy playing a character in a computer, like I am, and I think killing in stealth has no sense, it’s unfair for the downed character, whoever, not talking for myself, I play a Guardian at the moment, a Thief rarely kill a tank Guardian (as my Guardian has traits and equipment), plus I also have a Thief. I have 8 characters, one per profession, I am not fan or hater of a particular profession; this help me to see easily and clearly when something is wrong, out of place, look like a bug, not intended, etc.
Who cares? It’s pretty obvious when a Thief is stealth-stomping someone – bomb the crap out of your downed friend and watch a downed Thief appear out of the void. I do this ALL the time – you can almost always see the Cloak and Dagger animation, and if he didn’t use that, he most likely used Blinding Powder, which is also obvious. Hell, some idiots even use Shadow Refuge over the body.
It’s no different than Stability. Instead of being immune to CC, you simply can’t see them. They are still there. Nuke them.
Nuke them, bomb them? Yeah, who cares (if you are not downed) I am taking about 2 players, 1 thief in stealth, and 1 player downed.
The Thief in stealth mode is immune to (almost) all downed skills, you cannot see it, you cannot target it, downed player just wait thief to do the finish mode, and cannot do a thing about it, just wait the defeat, no need to even use the downed skills, because at that moment, that skills are useless.
I still don’t understand. Every class has a way to mitigate your skills. There’s Stability, blindness, stealth and more. Thief has access to them like every other class, more stealth above others (in fact we have absolutely no Stability other than a 90-second elite). So what’s your point? Don’t tell me that you think you’ll somehow be able to make a comeback from downed state in a 1v1, because unless you’re a Warrior that hasn’t died in 20 seconds of being downed, you have no chance, against anyone with a brain of any profession.
You are taking it too personal because you play a Thief, I understand you feel happy doing this to others, and don’t want it to be “fixed”, but I don’t think you feel happy if another Thief do that to you. And yes, you can comeback, as you say, from downed state, that’s the reason of downed skills, to comeback, to have a second chance, if not, why add that skills? My point: Where is the “second chance” when your opponent is invisible and untargetable? It’s game breaking, you just literally remove the hands of your keyboard/mouse and wait your defeat.
Even when I get the point, I am not talking about Stability, so that last two comments are out of place; that’s completely different, you can SEE the player on Stability, that’s even off topic if you ask me.
When I say “Bug”, I mean, “Not intended”, I don’t think developers could give to players, on purpose, the ability to invisibly finish a player without any consequence or penalty at all; Not giving to victim any way to defend self, making downed skills useless. Do you REALLY think this was originally intended and imagined to be that way? I don’t think so.
Interactions aren’t considered attacks. Anyone can use the F key without losing their stealth.
Well, that looks wrong to me, so wrong that I am thinking is not intended or a bug.
How interaction doesn’t remove the stealth? Stealth is supposed to be something to use when quiet, not attacking, not interacting, like not being there at all, when the thief “do something”, whatever, it must lose stealth.
I bet this is intended to prevent a jump exploit, not a bug.
I need a confirmation of this. A Thief can kill (finish) other players on stealth mode; Is that intended or a bug? because if the Thief is interacting, hitting “F” to finish, that is considered as an attack (IMO) and on attacks the Thieves are revealed (lose stealth) but when hitting F (and finishing the player) they stay in stealth mode all the time.

17 mb patch isnt a big patch
60MB and still updating at the moment.
I play WvW a lot, and I love it, I don’t think this is a “server” or “population” problem. They (ArenaNet) must make people GET OUT of Orr, Fractals, Lion Arch, etc., and make they go to the other zones of the game, that like I said, are really beautiful and well designed and developed, but empty.
This game need ASAP the revamp of low/medium level zones, with dailies, exotic/ascended armor/wepons NPCs, double xp/karma/gold, etc.
I have 700 hours of gameplay and I don’t play fractals at all, it’s good but I don’t like “farming”, I am playing a level 30 guardian right now, and the only I see are empty zones, that’s really sad because doing events/tasks alone is not fun.
This problem is big and seriously important for GW2 future; The new players, that got the game recently, are forced to play in empty zones, and that’s the first impression they have of the game. Plus, some people like me, are not particularly exited at all about fractals or that new zone with big crabs; There are already really beautiful zones in the game, very well designed and developed, but are empty, so ArenaNet, if you read this, make something now! please!
Changed password "successfully" and still have the old one.

New one is not working.
I tried to change again and now shows a message about the “password is not available”, “used before”, etc, etc. (Message is in Spanish so cannot tell you exactly; but you must know what I am talking about)
EDIT: So system got password and listed it as “used before”, and didn’t actually changed it.
I understand — so you chose a new password and you’re ok now?
I tried again today (after a month of creating this thread) and I was able to change it normally (GW1 changed too with this)
I noticed a new message about ArenaNet forcing players to change the password soon (if they don’t change it as I just did)
I suppose something should be done with map completion someday, no? specially if an expansion is released.
OK, now add a Dungeon Finder UI, so I can easily queue for whatever Dungeon I want wherever I am, like in WoW.
if Anet launch this without upgraded WvW gear i will uninstall the game.
They cannot leave WvW with worst gear than PvE, has no sense.
I think the blog post is just confusing and incomplete, it fails to explain the system because says nothing about WvW and sPvP.
They should add different ways to get Ascended stats without playing that dungeon; For WvW that is a must; Items with that stats should be added to WvW sellers, for karma and/or badges. I am not going to play with people with better stats, if I don’t want to play a dungeon.

What happens if no one buy gems for real money in some days? The game will say there are no gems available to buy with gold?
You might have used a Glory Boost.
If you do, you get more Glory points than Rank points, so the correlation between the 2 stops.
The “Symbol” (Rabbit, Deer, Dolyak, …) seems to be based on glory points, not rank points.
Hence why you got Deer, before reaching rank 10. Happened to me too.
Interesting, then this should be changed to get the Deer, Tittle, etc, by Rank and not by Glory.
I got the Deer in the character selection, plus the Gladiator title, but the “Purple rank bar” still shows Rank 9, why is that? still need many points for Rank 10.
In my humble opinion the best quick-fix for the whole problem would be to introduce single/duo queue free tournaments (or just single games) with a strong matchmaking mechanic.
Best regards Pray
Great post and this part is a great idea. Simple, quick solution while they iron out a good ladder system. This way, queues will still be somewhat quick since many many people queue solo or with 1 other friend, and you won’t have to get throat punched in Khylo anymore!
You can already do this.
Cheers.
But the game do nothing to teach players about that, and many other things. Just add the button “Play Now” and “Play Tournament Now” somewhere in the game interface, like in the PvP window, so you can quickly play normal and tournament immediately, even being on PvE and WvW.

As title says. If a guild has the guild bank unlocked in multiple servers (worlds), are the items shared? or you have different items per server?
Forget about that last post, tried to delete, but can’t.
