I don’t know with what kind of rangers you have been playing with, but a sword/warhorn ranger is quite useful in dungeons since he brings Spotter and Frostspirit. Their DPS isn’t that bad either and could replace a mesmer for reflects on bosses like Lupicus. You don’t really need a mesmer anyway, unless you have some clever portal tricks.
As for thief…maybe run Sword/Pistol for trash mobs where you need the cleave? Then switch to D/D for bosses.
Well Necromancers do lack cleave and any form of support that another class can’t do better, but I have yet to be kicked pugging with it. So I don’t know what would stop you from playing it.

AC 1/2 (P3 if you don’t mind time gated events)
CM (all paths) – CM P2 is around the same length as P1, if not faster, so you could probably also include all of them as mentioned.
TA Fw and Up
SE 1/3
CoF 1/3 (P2, again if you don’t mind time gated events)
HotW 1
CoE 1/3 (unless you like the husk part, which is boring unless your team decides its fun to kill each other)
Arah 1/2/3

Or just get a Guardian to use this Tome of Courage and stand behind him.
Correct me if im wrong. But hes just saying he hasnt seen any issues with npc’s on those paths. However thats very lucky to be in that position as we all know that the arah npcs are the biggest trolls in the game. :P
But Varra Skylark is the best NPC in the game. Especially when she reveals herself while in stealth. She is probably only rivaled by Sam.
I look forward to someone picking hotw story mode. There are some… interesting encounters.
Which are those, I don’t remember anything special except for the last boss. oO
Some time ago now, might be able to do a little higher with 4/6/2/0/2
Edit: Or 5/5 even

We got shaman and molten duo if I remember right
So what is the 2nd best instability?
Seriously, we did lvl 33 this week (ascalon, cliffside, grawl, molten duo) and it was the first time I came out of fractals and was like “never ever ever am I going through that again”.
Were we just being bad and inexperienced (we’ve been playing together since before reward level 30, and are hoping to keep going through the levels one by one, so we were all “on-level” for this one), or is 33 as nasty as it felt?
Level 43 is challenging if you get shaman in my opinion since the reflects still cause the instability to tick.
Sam took the hammer for first seals on cliffside. He then got a charge and walked straight off between the seals. Pro gamer.
I thought you’d learn not to give it to Sam any more after the countless times he got killed with it on the chest seal.
Pugging Arah isn’t too bad, especially with 4 necros. They had some trouble doing the skips, so we cleared a few mobs, but at least they listened. The lowest AP guy was even running dagger main-hand (around 800AP), with the rest running condition builds. Surprisingly they also melee’d Lupi (he had 4 grubs), and not even a single bubble, although they may have all gone down in phase 2 :P.
For god sake, I am getting tired of the flame for disagreeing with everyone. none of you have any right to insult me or call me stupid for it. I am not going to defend the current strategies, I know them, some are good, some have flaws. Stacking the enemy, good, skillfull, stacking yourself, stupid. The damage per second boost you get from mobile skills, is not worth the massive defensive loss to your entire party being hit at one time by almost every attack. If you want to claim I’m wrong, you have to actually address -all- my arguments.
and guys…if you want to say "I’m ok taking this gamble’ fine, but doesn’t the flaws in the strategy any less prevalent.
By the way, quite a few mobile skills have evade frames as well (WWA, Fiery Whirl and Burning Retreat for instance)
(edited by Moderator)
Duoing it with 2 eles, not stacking, takes only a few seconds; hooray might. It would only take 12 if one of us died or we failed horribly, or we were trolling each other, which admittedly we do a lot.
Just emphasising that that the 12 seconds he mentioned is extremely slow :P.
a 12s howling king kill is terribly slow, even without corner stacking
just shows how little people know.
A few days ago when he made his own topic he obviously knew nothing about AC nor dungeons in general. Now he speaks like a dungeon guru.
12 seconds is terribly slow? The enemy not even getting to attack is terrible slow….do I even nee to address that? that is case in point of what I’m talking about. How can you fight something if it doesn’t have the chance to fight?! I just…how else can I prove it, a run that is so fats the enemy couldn’t even do anything is somehow terribly slow?! Seriously!
And dude, half the posters in that topic didn’t understand what they were even saying, I can -still- see a bunch of hypocrisy posts. I wasn’t the only one being foolish.
It might have been a respectable time pre-patch if you weren’t stacking, but since the patch you do so much more damage (thanks to Ferocity scaling) that it should really take you one or two seconds possibly less. Even with just 2 people (possibly 3) it would melt in less than 12 seconds at the moment.
Thing to note. Because neo was taking screenies he failed at defending us on the console so we had to do the casual 1-2-2 tactic. -_-
I blame you lilith!
:(
Upon exploring the Crucible of Eternity, we come across many of Kudu’s dragon minion test subjects, but the greatest has yet to cross our paths…or so we think. It is so rare and powerful that not even the filthy zerker elitists could defeat this great champion. However once in a while he lets his guard down allows himself to be sighted, behold the Legendary Panda Warrior, with a Twilight

Ah, PvE, Read Obal’s DPS guide, everything you need to know is in there =p
alrdy read that didnt see the selfish monk build i was looking for
currently running wurm runes thinking about swapping to Flame legion/Exurberence
what u guys think ?
What exactly do you mean with selfish monk build?
You can hold Brie at 1% as long as the console does not get destroyed as far as I know. The reason you get ported is because the adds that spawn destroy the console before you can kill her. You can avoid that by just killing the adds (there are 3 waves), which will prevent you from getting ported. Just bring stability for the Technicians, although that’s not necessary.
Thanks Lilith! Well we can do the same some day (once i’ll have some AR on my NA guardian)
My guardian will get there too! Only been level 16 for 4 months now :/
The Risen in Arah seem to be annoyed about exploits, so they do it themselves.
That Safe-Spot
Anyone on NA I can do AC with? Have been kicked from (almost) every group so far :/
That reminds me when Spoj tried to do AC on his NA account. He kept getting kicked before even getting the chance to explain.
Also you can PM me when I am online, I’d join for AC.
The lfg tool is great, I’ve never seen it take more than a few seconds to fill a group once I posted it.
This is also the reason you might not see listings … they fill up too fast! Just post your own message.
First statement of this post made me sick to my stomach tbh.
Well there are issues with it, particularly if you are selling with all the white knights merging them. However it’s quite fast for just finding members for a normal run.
What dungeon were you trying to do? oO
I used to be in a guild where it took ages to get a group for anything (and the roster has 60 active players). Eventually I just started doing dungeons duo or trio, and joined a new guild, that could be a better solution imo. Also might just be me, because I rarely pug, but when our group needs 5 people (CoF 1) or just decides to pug roulette we get people within seconds.
10/25/0/10/25 is the best for soloing.
This or 10/30/0/5/25 is also nice if you don’t need the shout cooldown or doing content without reflections.
Here’s my Warrior “Burning Paris” to resemble my love for France after an Arah P3 Solo-Run.
ok wait. An arah solo run? Ok, I know I’m not a pro player, but how the heck? What kind of build can do arah solo, particularly lupi?
(sorry for off topic, just kinda surprised by that)
Most run full seeker meta builds
Im probably going to change it again because i picked the new hairstyle with the flower and 90% of human females have that style. Will post a pic when im happy with the new look.
Also happens to look like my warrior
I would take a thief over a mesmer to be honest. Don’t see many situations where a guardian can’t keep up reflects. Besides the extra blind is nice for most fractals…except dredge.
Not sure if I am misinterpreting this, but the LFG tool already is cross-server and I don’t really see the point of random match-ups. If you end up in a group with professions you’d rather not have in your team you would end up leaving anyway.
As for the daily bonus to doing dungeon, that was already implemented (the 1-3g depending on the dungeon). Granted they should look into some of them, as some paths should be worth more than 1g (SE P2).
because otherwise, cm 1 would be faster than cof. and we cant have that, can we?
Edit: 300 sec flood control, wut?
CM P1 already is faster than any of the CoF paths
Lupi too easy
Absolutely unreal.
Colesy and Dolan were there too
within 7 second what lupicus can even do to you? Its more a mather of pre battle preparation then an actual fighting issue. I believe within 7 second lupicus will likely do 1 to 2 move and its likely not gunna be a lethal one but i might be wrong so ill go check that video once im home to see how well their fight went.
If you dodge none of his attacks are actually “lethal”. He is probably most dangerous when you are lagging.
Not realy much of a challange despite the time i take to kill lupi… its not the time it takes that mathers its the effort and i dont have to make much to get lupicus down.
The little confort i find is left in the fractals
A 7s kill takes much more effort compared to a casual kill, so your argument is void. You act as if all you have to do is run zerker and FGS him into the wall. Try it out yourself before telling people it takes no effort.
Or is it just zerker gear that you have an issue with? So what about a naked kill?
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VKQae5bJFKs
Not a great kill but wasn’t organized either.
Also the possibility that it could be done was always there. Only now you decide to bring it up because a group of skilled players pulled it off. Besides you won’t see this in every run, needless to say in any of your runs.
You do realize there are 37 s kills without FGS?
Them being good doesn’t take anything away from you. Hell, in proud of myself for recently surviving my first full melee encounter with lupi— this was a personal goal of mine for a long time.
Sub minute kills are not ever going to be part of the meta— they’re just a demonstration of the best possible, most optimized effort.
There are also 21s kill without FGS. Although sometimes if you are lucky you can get a phase 3 skip in a casual run.
Just because you can’t get a team that can down him in less than a minute, let alone melee him, doesn’t mean others can’t. Besides do you even know how many tries it took to get a kill this fast?
Does the Arah P1 record still count?
Just wondering, since the ooze was killed while standing on the coral.Still valid for unrestricted.
Unless coral is fixed?
Still works, we did it yesterday after you logged :P
Does the Arah P1 record still count?

Edit: Went back and read the previous posts. Was just confused when I saw that the AC record was temporarily removed.

Guardian’s provide great support, but the aggro system in this game is too random to actually keep bosses focused on you. Therefore there aren’t really any tanks in this game for PvE content. Instead support classes are all about pushing as much damage while sacrificing as little support as you can. In short the best support you can provide are party wide buffs to increase DPS and damage mitigation. Guardians are great at the latter, due to a lot of access to blinds, condition removal, reflects and aegis’ when it’s available.
Low level fractals just arent worth running meta in as you wont get a party decent enought to actualy match the needs of the build, most meta build are made to be runned under optimal conditions with premade party and you wont find that in fractals until about lvl 30. If you run fractals especialy at low lvl dont bother using a meta if you cant play it right it will only make your life harder then it should be run something your sure you can nail down perfectly.
Uhm it’s actually better to run meta on low levels since you have more room for error (as they do not hit as hard). you make a greater contribution to the team with offensive buffs to speed it up. Sure you can any build you like, but you wouldn’t really want to spend the same time in a Fractals level 10 as you would for a Fractals level 49 by running a sub-optimal build. Even if you start playing the meta build, low level Fractals is a great place to start.
The stupidity in this thread is epic.
If people believe that speed running times is what makes the Elite in pve for gw2 people are more deluted than i ever believed.Even the way we kill the 3 acolyte waves on the lamest of pugs on cof1 is an exploit and not they way it was meant by the devs. And people still defend skiping 90% of a dungeon with legit ways.
Since I’ve been “deluted” maybe you can tell me what makes the elite in pve for gw2?
Oh and while you’re answering for me, when you were at the design meeting where the Acolyte event was created, can you please explain what, specifically, the devs intended? I mean, since you know their intentions you were obviously there, right?
Lastly, you seem to think skipping trash mobs is skipping the challenge. What if, and this is a crazy thought, skipping some mobs is actually more challenging than fighting them, and thus a greater demonstration of skill?
Guild wars 2 elite: Doing Grenth with a full team of PVT necros or doing Simin legit with the bone from the grenth room.
I need to sell more Arah to get money for my ascended stuff. And I need to run fractals for karma.
GW2 is like a second job, I play it how I want, and that’s corporate style
Why do people pay for runs? They’d just lose money. Can someone elaborate?
Convenience mostly, since you just have to wait for the slots to fill (which takes around 10 minutes depending on the path). Especially if you play other areas of the game more, like WvW for instance, you wouldn’t have to do the dungeon yourself to get the Arah armour. It also means you wouldn’t have to pug the dungeon, which would generally take a lot longer.
These wps have been broken for a long time.
You get one wp before lupi on every path except p1.
Thing is, it’s working as intended. To open the one after tar you must do a little jumping puzzle.
Or as spoj said it activates after killing the Jotun Stargazer, because Anet thinks people like to go backwards after finishing the dungeon. A bit like the p2 waypoint you get after Abomination…
sheeps constantly fellowing the builds of others yet cant think on their own.
You know most builds don’t come from one person right? Sure they advertise it, but there are loads of players coming up with them by themselves without realizing it is the meta build. All you really have to do is build around DPS and party support like increasing party wide precision (i.e. spotter) and party wide damage boost (i.e. traiting for Frost Spirit), just as an example for ranger alone.
