I like the idea of skeletons but come on part of the challenge is dealing with everyone. small and large. Yes it took me 7 hours but I finally did it. By the time you get to the hard right jump down and up there is only a few of you any way. I am 45 and an average player. I am just more stubborn then most.
I’m referring to the former, yeah. The puzzle itself is amazing and I love it, but the execution and presentation of it is very lacking. It being a group instance with such a massive amount of people is just not flattering to it.
Absolutely agree, they knew the holiday itself would attract alot of players, for people who have no option but to play at peak hour is very confusing,it doesnt help those who already struggle with the puzzle itself, also they could do with removing the cutscene, its unecessary after the thousandth time we fall and retry the tower, not to mention I think some people have slower machines and when the slime start they are still watching the cutscene/loading
Yeah the cut scene after a while got boring but I wonder if it was a timing thing. Anyway they could have just played it once for those that were there the first time.
Like most people I find it very amusing and challenging but I must admit that I hated it until I finally reached the top!! It that regard, I see a lot of people posting that they did it more then once … do you get to loot the chest everytime you complete it? Also since this achivement is BY far the most difficult one to get during this Halloween event does anybody else feels that we should get a title for it (I think it’s perfect that it doesnt count for the Emissary title for the one who are not able to do it)
My little Asura friend completed at least 2 hours before I did and get got 100+ Trick O treat bag from making up there over and over. You get 7-9 of them each time
BTW I love the puzzle I had a blast grinding through. I knew a very good blend of frustration and fun for me and my guild…. for the most part
Well I did it. Some clues were easy to follow other not so much. I think I know the map much better now.
Thanks Agian
Also beware that unless I am doing something wrong Matter meter no longer seems to change icon when you get close to the location you need to be, this scavenger hunt is substantially harder you need to trust your instinct!
Wow the icon use to change. That would have been nice to know LOL. I just relied on what I learn from exploring and the clue. I am going to give it another shot here soon
Thanks for the tips/hints
(I do understand the frustration many players have)
Out of all the event, I like this one th most. I am 45 years old with a job and a family, I am an average gamers at best and in most PVP I struggle to maintain a 1:1 Kill to death ratio.
This is one of those skill based things, like PVP. I hate the one were it was pure chance. You have 1 in 100000 to get the OMG item so those with more time or luck have the best chance to get it. This one require some skill on who to get out in front and stay there. It was hours of amusement for my guild and we will talk of this with laughter. I say they did a great job here.
easy peasy
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=akpORGEvrgQYou were probably the cause of other people failing it. You are the cause of the rage.
Do it on a minimum height asura with at least 5 charr/norn on max width and height settings and I will believe you.
In my guild the first one to do it was an asura we only had 4 char/norn and one asura brought their golem. So it is doable you just have to get out front. for the record I made it after 7hours of LOL and GRRRRRRs. when I made I cheered real loud that my wife that I had won the greatest prize ever. I like the tower as it is.
OK I will put my noodler back to work and see what I can come up with,
Thanks
Tower was fun for me and my guild. We had a blast and when I finally got it I felt a great accomplished. I even cheered out load where my wife was wondering what just happened and so looked up and just saw me standing in a room.
I was the 3rd from my guild to do it. First was an Asura, then a Char and now me a Norn.
The tower is fine
Ok so far I have been able to do all the event with out the need to look up on the web. However, I cannot figure out where Act2 Scavenger hunt begins. Sure there are Youtube videos out there showing me the ghost location but I have not seen one that state go to this location to get the first hint for ACT 2.
Where is that first clue I have search lions arch and queensdale. what is the hint that will send me to research lore and such? I will be a sad panda if I must just go to you tube and run to all the ghost and not really do the event
Ideally you would be able to activate medkit drops using the interact key within ~100 range as well as activate them by running over them physically.
Yeah that would be great
Cool thing about this game is you can easily respec to get through rough patches. I ran, duel pistol then flame thrower then finally power precision rifle build until 80. What server you on?
When you transform or get morphed what happens to your turrets?

Not exactly sure what Moa Morphed means but you turrets stay until they are destroyed by you or something else, Or if you try to change you skill out that is the turret.
Ok there is a delay at the end that if I player is aware they can dodge. How is that different that many skills in the other classes that have a delay before it unleashes. For example when I see a warrior kneel with a rifle I know what is coming.
I am not saying that ours does not need a fix what I am asking is whether or not this skill is in line with other skills that have a noticeable delay/windup in the other classes.
Nice I have to give this one a try. I have just about finished up my Magic Find armor set and will begin working on this
At work watching a system upgrade and I was thinking…
Since I do things out-of-the-box just to to do them and see what I can make of it. So has anyone tried a build that does not include any points in explosive or firearms.?
In another MMO the developers talked about an aspect of AI for the critters where once they were engaged, they “saw” the whole party, and to keep combat varied they could have random factors to make them engage anyone in the group, even the stealthed person around the corner. I don’t know if this game has that, but it seems possible.
The amount of aggro I get I must be the luckiest player around. I run with a Elementalist, Warrior most of the time. I can say in almost every battle I get aggro . I have become real good at running them around. In fact or last dungeon together I ran around healing myself as the other killed the mobs. It was so funny that everyone was commenting on it. If fact the plan was this; Someone else pull, I run around healing myself, everyone else kill.
But here is the weird thing , if I arm myself with my elixir gun I rarely get aggro. anything else = aggro magnet.
I run pistol/shields. I do keep grenades though nothing like them for clearing walls or destroying siege equipment. I will also drop a net turret if I thief is near because it can net them before they appear on my screen. I constantly switch between rocket boots and elixir stun breaker (cont remember which one – but the one that shrinks you). And of course a will placed supply drop is the cherry on top.
Eng makes me want to play everyday. Ranger not so much. But I can tell you this, How I play my Eng at 80 is very different the how I play from 1-70. I love how much CC I can do to a single target. I love how my survivalbilty in PVE and WWW. You just need to bring the right tool from the job and you have to understand how and when to use that tool.
Of course you can go bigger hammer method nothing wrong with that except the eng does not have the biggest hammer :/
I am not sure on the event. as I have confused as to what I am doing. However I love mining candy corn
https://forum-en.gw2archive.eu/forum/professions/engineer/Lets-see-your-engineers/page/5#post498217
That is my current armor. Like it because it is not a coat
Funny I never notice this until after I read this Now I notice even my pistol is magically held in play 30cm away from my body too
@ Michaeas Magister
Yeah I have gotten real good at running around and dodging too.
@ravic
Nope we were all level 80
Thanks for the tips
I’m not disappointed by the costume brawls. They rock!
I have mixed feeling. mainly because I do not know the purpose of the brawl, not sure how many pumpkins I have to carve and what to do with the candy operated device I got.
It is not like I want a walk though just a hint to the purpose or how many items I need to carve to see if it is worth my time. I am so confused.
Last while waiting for the event I ran the Manor dungeon. In almost all my group that had warriors in they were nothing more than glass cannons. Me being and Eng often ended up kiteing the boss around healing myself so I did not die while the warrior was busy try to get back in action because they were down AGAIN.
This time it was different we had 2 warriors. 1 being the typical glass cannon but the other one WOW he was an old sword and board type of guy. He held aggro and stayed on his feet. This allowed all of use to contribute to the fight as we squishier classes were not always running for our lives or trying to get the glass cannons up. With him I was able to support the entire group with elixir and such and we pretty much breezed through the instance. Before this I have seen guardians do this but never a warrior. I am impressed. However He left before I could ask him his build. You guy have any ideas?
Thanks
Cool thanks for all the hints and tips.
ok so I am using the right stuff. good to know. I will keep at it. remember you cant spell stubborn with out U
ok have salvage 25 rare level 70+ items using master salvage kits. I got 0 Ectoplasm. What do you have to do to get them? is there something I am missing or am I just having horrible luck?
Thanks
Some mix of armor
Nice action shot
Ok we were discussing how to take down a boss in the other room. I was adjusting my skills for upcoming fight and had not even targeted the boss or anything for that matter. We were down the hall looking at the boss in the other room. I had no turrets out and I was not in combat. Then our over zealous warrior pulls the boss before checking to see if everyone was ready. I see everyone run down the hall and attack the boss I am closing me screen and select my elixir gun at the far end of the hall. Still not in combat. That is when I noticed the boss, who runs by all of my group, down the hall and 2 shots me, 1st knocked me down and the second finished me. I did not even get a chance to target him.
Some mobs just really hate engineers to even kill one that was not even attacking them or engage in combat.
none the less it was funny
I see rangers only use the long bow. ok ok I see a ton of bot as well.
I just started my ranger and I have fell in love with the sword and dagger. Sure I keep a bow in my second weapon slot but I prefer to get in there and have some fun. I have only seen one other ranger that used the sword and dagger. Are we a rare breed or just an insane ones?
Norn female Tier 3 kinda sucks also. I prefer the a mix of tier 1 and 2 for looks
Simple answer just level to 70+
Sounds like a troll answer but I spent two days convincing my friend to stop running dungeons and just level to 80. He has been 80 for 4 days now and his money issues are no longer. Is he rich nope but he has money enough to craft, buy thing from the trading post and travel.
For example, last night we were to an harvest run in ore. before we left the first waypoint we were in 3 events. we traveled went to sell our loot and got up in another event. So 12 -15 slot bag that were just empty filled up in one, five min event. I had 4 rare that made me 68 silver from the trading post. After a average run in ore I make about 70-80 silver. A good run will net me 1.5 gold. I can do that in about an hour alone faster with a group.
Also dragons, kill them often
Right now I have 15 gold and I just got down spending 3 gold for mat for my other char because leveling weaponsmith and armorsmith at the same time burns through your rares fast. I did not even think twice about it since I can make money when I need it.
My Eng had lots of moments all the way up through level 80 and even a few after. Here is a summary
When I first got my flamethrower I said “Ah I get it kits are the answer” But they weren’t.
Then I discovered bombaneering and said " Oh yeah!! this is where it is at" but found it lacking.
Then it happened. I discovered that I can exploit field like no other. I can set my own up and use them I can use other. Then I found the joy of crit speccing then I learn how grenades work for me and discovered that pistol and shield let my tank 8+ mobs with one or 2 being elite….. well you get the picture.
The eng is a class that is not as straight forward as many would like it. it can be tough to maximize certain skills with actual skills (I suck at running while using grenades).
This board has been great giving me ideas on how to run with this class. Now I am a pistol shield/turret/gadget_neer and having a blast in PVP and WWW
I notice there is no stun breaker on this build. For PVE no biggie for PVP this can be an issue. On the plus side when I go elixir gun I rarely draw aggro. Also I always like the heals with this type of build.
Disclaimer: I am an average player at best. so take it for what it is worth
Thanks that is what I thought but you know when you listen to the chattering in lions arch. sometimes you get mislead.
As far as I have seen you can enter any dungeon once you are out of the tutorial zone. I went on a Manor run with a level 32 and level 36. it seems the level are a suggestion. The trick is convincing someone to take you when you level is that low since you would be pretty worthless in there at level 5
Also you can do the explore mode as long as the first person entering has done the story mode. Otherwise you have to do the story mode to unlock the explore mode. Explore modes give you tears that you spend on vendors in lions arch for level 40 and level 80 armor, weapons and such.
ok take this Rune
Superior Rune of the Elementalist
(1): +25 Power
(2): +17 Condition Damage
(3): +50 Power
(4): +40 Condition Damage
(5): +90 Power
(6): Burning and Chilled last 20% longer.
Does this mean I get?
option 1) 165 power, 57 condition dmg, 20% longer burn and chill
OR
option 2) 90 power, 40 condition dmg, 20% longer burn and chill
The reason I ask is I got all confused by statements in Lion’s Arch.
Thanks
OK I am now running a duelist top and commando pants
Anyone know where I got these pants as I cannot remember and have been transmutting them to keep the look.
Ok last night running the manor dungeon I rarely took aggro when I used my elixir gun
1. Elixir gun – I had to work REAL hard to get aggro and I would lose it almost as fast as I got it.
2. Rifle – I gained aggro when I wanted it and maintained it for a little bit.
3.Pistol/Shield (I am spec for it) I gain aggro when I wanted it and sometimes when I did not want it and sometimes it took a bit to loose it.
4. Grenades. DING DING DING!!!! gained aggro all the time with that.
Just more food for thought
I have no problem with turrets but I get the OP point. I guess I just accepted how they work and planned accordingly. I use my rifle turret as more like an area effect spell. I dopr my turret and immediately have it do automatic fire. If I make it through a full 5s of automatic fire I consider it good and anything after that is a bonus.
I also use my rifle turret as OMG I need to get away skill. I will hit my med kit then drop a turret. Almost always the mob(s) go directly after the turret to give that wee bit-o-time to get away to heal and bring back the pain.
My current build is for pistol/shield turret and I am having a blast.
Seems like an exploit to me
Wow how did I miss that one .. DOH! thanks Kat
Sure you can be whatever you want. However I will suggest to you that you learn to use all your skills.. Sometime you will need to use <insert skill here> and it is just nice to whip it out and have some fun.
This is what happens to me.
1. start fight
2. boss agros on me
3. ???
4. Profit!!!
Why they agro on me is a mystery to me
@kat
I disagree and agree. I was speced at level 80 power precision rifle build but wanted to try pistol and shield. I did WWW with it and had a blast it was effective for my play style. However I do get you point.
Question what do you mean you get a cripple field on activation? Tool kit never has given me a cripple field. The pry bar I love and the tool belt skill is just SO COOL
Well, one of the problems of the engineer is, you can’t switch weapons. Leaving alone if that is unfair, its a complete diffirent discussion, playing with rifle is best for killing thieves. But what if i want to play dual pistol or pistol shield? You won’t have such an effective snare like net shot neither you have a dk (distance-keeper) like overcharged shot.
You’ll always have an advantage playing with a rifle.
I play pistol/shield and use gadget to get my CC. Personal battering ram and rocket boots. Shield stuns, hit my ram the launch it. Yes there are issue with it but so far and have been good with it.
