Seriously? Or am I gonna have to drown my sorrows in alcohol every night for another month and a half. Can we get a petition going to see balance changes soon =P.
After numerous posts on PvP forums of people QQing that dd eles are OP I was hoping that the 8/25/2015 build we would see a nerf in someway…
Elementalist
Arcane Brilliance: Fixed a bug that caused this skill’s blast finisher to occur at your target’s location instead of your own.
Soothing Power: Updated the tooltip for this trait to reflect the actual effectiveness increase of 100%.
Really ANet? Don’t pay much attention to the PvP community huh? Loosing all hope…
Alright so I have never experienced this before until today. I went from Heart of the Mists to LA and was in a loading screen for ages that eventually dced me. I had difficulties logging back in, when I did I would lag tremendously. Some of the people I play with are having lag issues today as well. I tried to run a repair, didn’t work, I tried to reinstall the game, it sorta works but still extremely laggy.
Let’s be honest, this is what this game is now. All I see are teams of 2-3 DD eles, so fun to fight against when they have no counter on point and are the jack of all trades master of all. Apparently the balance guy is on vacation, so I guess it’s confirmed that ANet is really incompetent when it comes to proper balancing. I can’t blame people jumping on the OP bandwagon, all I saw a month ago were DDs and Mantra Mesmers, but since Mantras are not meta now guess they switched to DD.
There are so many burns op threads on the PvP forums but yet ANet does nothing in regards of nerfs or mentioning anything. I’d rather have EA moderate this game… For real.
My PvP team [NA] is looking for a really good thief for weekly tournaments. Must know rotations, class, communicate properly, and who has a high situational awareness. We’ll try you out throughout two weeks. If you wanna go eSports this is it.
Contact these people in game if interested:

DPS rampage warrior. Second to none in the cleave category, double quickness is cray, and more team oriented with CC chains.
I never like to wish NERFS on classes ppl enjoy playing.
I don’t think I’d ever say this but…. Eles should be left alone and the only thing that needs fixed is the RoF buggy burn stacks. Otherwise, I think they need burning as a means of damage. Without it, they will be incredibly underwhelming.
That’s a stupid statement. DD eles are the only spec right now that can put high sustain and high damage on an on point fight. DD eles need a nerf and so do burns.
I believe what y’all need is a player like myself. A guy who knows his rotations, who’s played with you guys, who plays everyday. What are y’all looking for? A mesmer still?
Saw an ANet person in Mists today, asked them if they are going to nerf DD eles and burns. Their reply was go to the website, go to forums. Finally I bugged this person long enough to get a response other than the usual. This person said that they are not in talks about any nerfs to burns or DD eles. Now I’m not sure if this is true, maybe this person just wanted me to shut up, but if this is true, then there goes our hopes…

Everyone here saying to run condi cleanses are probably running some sort of cheese burn build that carry them. No condi cleanse spec can continuously keep up with a burn spec such as burn guardian. So burns do need a nerf to the ground.
As an Engineer main who only plays sPvP competitively I’ve tried Soldier and Celestial. In my opinion Celestial Rifle Engi is better than Soldier Rifle. With the Celestial amulet you have just over 30% crit chance where as the Soldier amulet you get 4% crit chance which means your main bust is solely reliant on your Intelligence sigils and rifle burst, where the Celestial amulet you should burst with Intelligence sigils on rifle but the Slick Shoes and Grenade combo is far more effective on Cele. Also with the Mortar Kit’s combo blasts for heals the healing power you get out of Cele amulet is better than the non-existent healing power on the Soldier amulet.
I’ve tested both out for a while now and you can still bunker a point no problem when using Mortar Kit properly and you should be able to win your 1v1s a lot quicker with Celestial.
In summary, if you want to be more tanky as an Engineer then run Soldier, but if you want good sustain with decent damage and IMO better team use, use the Celestial amulet.
The only condition that really messes me up like everyone else are burn stacks. Besides the Marauder build’s condi clear with elixirs are pretty important elixirs that you won’t throw away when you have minor conditions on you. The backpack regen is really nothing when you can blast finish your way back up to full HP…
As an experienced engineer I’ve tried out the Marauder Rifle build, condi builds, and the Soldier Rifle build. I went back to Celestial a couple of days ago and I haven’t looked back. I’ve been able to beat all of the other engies that run Marauder Rifle, I have survivability because of Celestial Amulet, and because of the way the traits are set up now I do more damage than the last Celestial engi meta. Not to mention that if you use Mortar Kit it’s a whole lot more team oriented (combo fields and blast finishers). For example if I blast my Healing Turret with Elexir Shell and Orbital Strike that’s ~11k heal for my team. Blasting Healing Turret with Endothermic Shell gives my team a 10% damage reduction taken to them, and dropping Flash Shell is amazing for fighting on point with the blind outputs. Also if you go into Firearms and go bottom mid bottom the combination of High Caliber with Slick Shoes and grenades is amazing, not to mention that every 10 seconds when you crit you put out 2 stacks of burning which equate to just over 400 burn ticks for that extra DPS and the recharge reduction by 20% on rifle is amazing.
I have no idea how you actually survive on a cele build, let alone any build without alchemy. Mainly because HT alone really isn’t good enough condi removal in this meta, while alchemy gives you backpack regen and prot injection that boost your sustain by a longshot.
The only thing I think needs to be changed in regards to stealth is if you successfully dodge or block then the enemy in stealth should be revealed, like I know you’re trying to gank me lmfao.

Alright so let me give you guys a perfect scenario as to why Lord on Foe Fire needs a major buff or ANet needs to figure out another mechanic on that map.
So last night my team and I were in a match on Foe Fire and we were down by 350 points. We maintained a triple cap the whole game and gained the lead and were completely outplaying the other team. We would’ve won that game but the only issue was that Lord is so freaking weak especially when a mesmer drops time warp. I was defending it and trying to drop some healing blast finishers on my engi to heal the Lord but I couldn’t do anything because of time warp and the mesmer and another person killed our Lord, just two of them. Lord on Foe Fire needs to be buffed or they need to change the mechanics of that map, 150 points on a really easy NPC is just too much especially when we deserved the win… IMO.
With this current meta of builds hitting really hard, burns being able to stack and do a lot of damage, and elites such as time warp, why is the Lord on Foe Fire not like the one in Stronghold? A mechanic that can instantly melt and gives 150 points is really bad in this meta because NPCs aren’t the brightest of the bunch and can just stand or walk into fire fields of other AOEs such as time warp.
Man oh man I can’t wait when WTS is over! Hopefully we’ll see that long overdue ele nerf then I can enjoy PvP again!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I’ve been able to counter them on Greatbow.
Can we get a buff on the Lord on Foe Fire? Like maybe implement the same Lord from Stronghold? Because with this insane DPS meta Lord insta-dies and for the amount of points it gives that’s a horrible mechanic.
PS – I like how ANet made tweaks on classes and nerfed stuffed a couple of days ago but did nothing with DD eles, guess we know what the devs favor lolz.
I agree on DD ele’s needing a nerf. They were fine the way they were last meta, but they get carried by the burn stacks. There’s two ways to fix this IMO, first would be to increase the cool-downs of the fire attunement skills, or the second option is to reduce the damage of burns. It’s frustrating outplaying a spec such as DD only to see them be immune to either condies, crits, or spam blinds while doing decent damage and able to regen their health. Ele’s are currently the jack of all trades master of all. There was nothing wrong with the last meta except for a few balance patches that should’ve been done here and there, there was more diversity in tPvP in specs, now all I see in Qs are double DD eles, two mesmers or two rampage warriors. This game is getting horrible because of bad devs… Fix you game.
Pshh, golem at full health. Clearly burning needs a dps boost.
Haha right? We were seeing over 50k damage per tic lol and the golem died like 6 straight times by the time the stacks wore off. xD
The question is how many people does “we” constitute?
We achieved this with 2 eles, a guard and 2 revenants.
how long did that take to stack up?
Probably 3-4 seconds. You can stack over 50 in about 1 sec.

When you’re traited for shouts and packing trooper runes, why wouldn’t you be using To The Limit over Healing Signet?
Healing signet is still a really strong heal, the passive regen with blocks and invulnerables makes it worth while. Peel off of fights, regen, go back in.

Check out the build I’ve been running recently. I believe it has great potential. You do decent damage because of the power stat on Crusader Rune as well as the Intelligence Sigil. It’s more team oriented and can survive in this high burst good condi damage meta. My experience with this in a team using TS has been great. The amount of CC on this build is pretty insane IMO which will allow your DPS team mates to nuke targets no problem. I’ve been able to sustain really good. If you are interested in checking it out in action I do stream with this build @ http://www.twitch.tv/therealkinggucci
I only play GW2 for PvP and I can understand the condi buff for PvErs since it’s more viable but condis are just way to OP for some specs on PvP. For example I was dueling a dps guard and he managed to put over 50 stacks of burning total throughout the fight hitting me for a total of over 56k damage overall. Now before people say “run condi clear” I was running a full condi clear build but the condis are just way too strong for PvP. I’m also noticing more condi specs in PvP and the issue is even with cleanses the amount of condi pressure will out sustain condis cleanses.
GG Anet if you don’t fix this game will die in the PvP community.
