Oh as far as “wuvwuv” (I like that! Can I keep it?) goes, i still plan on using my current LB Zerker setup. I will however keep a second set of PvE centric gear for dungeons that I can also use for WvW.
I’m already planning a secondary set of gear. Healing Power is going to be super important. I really like my zerker longbow build so I’m thinking of utilizing Zealot stats (pow, pre, HP) And mixing in some ferocity for good measure. I play WvW mostly. I also want to be well prepared for PvE. What would your ideal armor stats look like? Do you plan on running something similar to me?
There is absolutely no need to worry about the “Holy Trinity” in GW2. Every class is basically able to sustain themselves. This is a skill based MMO. You are rewarded through skill and teamwork. I imagine there will be teams that complete PvE content without any dedicated healers or Druid Rangers. WvW will still need long-range back line support LB Power Rangers. Druid will simply add more group support for those who want to contribute more. Nothing has changed. Only more has been added.
They weren’t lying when they said Druid would have one of the biggest impacts on PvP. I can imagine all the ways that top-tier tournament level competitors could use all of the Druids abilities. This is huge.
Seriously, cynics be darned that was the best Elite Spec out of all of them. The Druid is everything us Rangers could want and more. Thank you Irenio. Your dedication is unmatched!
I can’t believe I have to wait for this Quaggan show to end first…what were they thinking? All those new prospective players are probably running in the opposite direction by now.
Nah, it’s not going to start precisely at 1 EST. They’ll have an intro to their show. It might start at earliest 1:15 but I’m thinking more like 1:30 or 2 p.m. even. They have a lot of time to fill.

Nope. After the torment I’ve had to suffer at the hands of everyone rerolling PU Mesmer and downing me in a half second flat? I hope Druid is even more overpowered than that. I wouldn’t even feel bad or sorry for playing a build that broken on Ranger.
What interests me more is the Skill Balance Preview at the bottom of Friday. I could care less about the kitten Druid now, I just wanna know what they are going to nerf/buff in the core specs.

The tyranny of the d/d ele and PU Mesmer are at an end.
Just because its TwitchCon doesn’t change a thing. This isn’t like PAX or E3 or what have you. This is basically an excuse to boast about their game for a several hour long marathon.
People who haven’t played GW2 yet might really be drawn to the druid or ranger class so yes, they want to show how awesome it is.
Very possible that we’ll get 30-40 minutes of show time. Intro may be 15 minutes. Then druid showcase for 30-40 minutes musical performance for maybe 15 minutes or so. Then adventures in GW2 for a solid 30 minutes. Then they get the live stage at 3pm EST for 15 minutes. They have plenty of time from 1 pm to 3 pm in order to dedicate a full 30 minutes slot for Druid.
If we’re lucky and behave like good lil’ rangers we’ll get a blog post or write up detailing skills and abilities tomorrow. Otherwise Friday will be the Absolute earliest because that’s the first day of TwitchCon.
Next week seems more likely. They’ll probability announce the new talk show at TwitchCon, Guild Chat.
Look at our current pets. They all seem mostly harmless and non-threatening. What IF Druid was able to control a huge monstrous being of a creature? That would be awesome.
A thought crossed my mind. Do you think they’ll reveal the druid skills and abilities before the reveal like Scrapper and others? In a blog post, I mean.
They will definitely still have pets with the Druid spec. The developers made this clear but I can’t cite anything specific. I know I’ve read as much some where that pets were an integral part of the class and wouldn’t be removed.
No Druid announcement yet and Ranger is still a beautiful disaster. I love the class, it’s my main class, but too much wrong with it. Druid announce and balance plans dictate whether I buy the expansion or just go to another game.
I’m inclined to agree with Anduriell here. I mean, I’m not counting Irenio Calmon-Huang out but he totally needs to redeem himself here. I was a little disappointed to hear we weren’t getting Roy as a developer and if we ever got Robert Gee to balance the Ranger we’d be the Top #1 class in GW2. Lol Robert Gee for Ranger please?
when exactly is the druid reveal? since gw seems to have several spots at twitch con… is it on the 25th at 3pm pst or?
ArenaNet only has the stage for 15 minutes from 3-3:15 at TwitchCon on the 25th. They’ll probably show the trailer there. Druid reveal might be on the first episode of the newly assumed web series of streams. Don’t know when that will be. Probably won’t see druid this week.

Highly unlikely they’re going to showcase Druid next week in my opinion. They’re going to release the trailer and be busy with TwitchCon. They’ll also be busy fixing the meat and potatoes of the game and fixing any big glitches. I’m willing to bet they’ll have another beta weekend without druid and then adjust druid spec after HoT goes live.
