Wow? Kill the GS more please A-net? You just halved the dps of GS#2. Instead of getting a damaging bounce on an enemy, I get 3stacks of might on my clone? Seriously? Wow. Last time it only bounced to players which could actually use the might. Now I get 3 might on clone?
The only benefit this does is give you an extra bounce at 1200 range AT THE START where you only have izerker up. Further uses after that highly results in wasted might on clones. Goodjob. First screw izerker, then screw GS#2. Whats next? You gonna screw GS#1 I guess?
Fixing tons of not as pressing issues as always. Next up they gonna label another “bug fixing patch” and fix stuff like Consortium Sickle animation and underwater clones without trident. (No offense to underwater combat enthusiast, but I think most people don’t value underwater combat heavily.)

First thing I want to point out is, the test-dummies in LA are “fake” the izerker does not behave normally. They are “glued” to the dummies during spin and thus consistently land all their hits.
Secondly, doylaks are rather “fat” by nature and thus more hits usually land. Other factors for your damage numbers, is due to being a phantasm specc and being in pve instead of spvp.
My picture is taken from the golem dummies in spvp whereby the izerker behaves “normally” (not being “glued”) and better represents a “human-sized” target.
On topic: Yes, even with the bugged izerker, GS is still better than scepter as confusion is currently useless in PvE.

I’m not sure exactly how warrior’s GS3 damage fair in comparison to izerker, but i’m sure it does more damage than your auto-attack consistently even without having to force a corner spin right?
The situation shown in the picture happens roughly around 30% of the time on a stationary golem yea? 462 damage, almost half my auto-attack damage.
If the same thing is occurring to warrior GS3, I humbly welcome you on-board in this issue
. I rather it be changed to a flat 1-hit damage if fixing the hit boxes are so troublesome.

To be honest, after so long, i’m kinda giving up izerker ever getting a proper fix to its damage. Maybe just throw in the towel and remove izerker’s damage and improve on its CC. Change/Add cripple with daze/stun/chill, i don’t know. Just rename and remake it into illusionary CC-bot.
FYI: If you use Whirlwind Attack right next to the target, you won’t get all 4 hits off unless it follows you. I can’t remember the last time I FOLLOWED an iZerker…
Tested and proven by many people in various posts, the hitbox of izerker is screwed up and remains unfixed. Awesome feeling when izerker spins past a dummy golem for 500 damage, about half the damage of my auto-attack with 0 crits.
I think the dodge roll bug (which is claimed fixed but actually, not) is gonna be a potential candidate for being izerker the second. Lets start guessing how many months till its fixed.
+1, dodge roll bug is still not fixed. Dodging after respawning in spvp.

3 Mesmers do not lack condi removal they have a phantasm that removes conditions and remove boons. Furthermore, they can shatter for condi remove, heal for condi remove, get ruins for condi remove, and get sigils for condi remove.
I believe he meant the condition weakness of phant/shatter builds which is currently discussed and not other builds out of context… >.>
I just said one point, about setup time and availability of reaction to burst damage. And you bring up other non-relevant points to setup time/reaction window and start discussing about class balance as a whole. (Setup from stealth, is still visible and react-able. The clone appears and leaps, Mesmer has 3second window to leap. Thief stealth opening has no tell tale signs. Eg: Dodging illusionary leap is more reasonable than dodging backstab.)
If you really want to go there into overall class balance, this game is not balanced at 1v1. It is team-based, where you see all sorts of class combinations streamed in tournaments. The Mesmer has a role, so does the Thief in tPvP. You don’t see people going: “Hey, why take a X class, just replace it with a Mesmer” in tPvP.
Granted Mesmers are usually required for portals but that is a separate issue on a single utility instead of the class as a whole.

From the video, there is a setup time where the Mesmer sets up his burst. Around 1-2seconds, where the Mesmer is fully visible and targetable. Even he if does stealth beforehand, the illusionary leap clone is fully visible.
And you’re comparing this to a Thief damage from stealth? Apples and oranges, one has more warnings and reaction time does more damage. Other has less reaction window does less damage. Mesmer’s combo shown involves root and daze (unless he pistol stuns, which adds cast time), Thief’s combo involves root and stun longer than daze (possibly poison too?).

True, but that lies on the fault of human error which can happen in any direction in any matter. Not doing anything and letting all the GS users suffer is equally unfair. I agree there should be a limit to Band-Aids but I believe simple damage adjustments are reasonable.
But in my opinion, adjusting damage numbers alone should be faster than the issue of izerker that occurred since LOS changes which involves interaction between terrain/target/spinning aoe/speed etc.

Asking for balance in 1v1 is very unrealistic. All formats of pvp is team-based, shatter > phant Mesmer. A shatter Mesmer’s phant aren’t that long-lasting/strong.
Oh and mind wrack, 6-8k + 3-5k with sword #2 skill?….in about 1 second? Instakill broken too! Did you know that even thief can’t do that anymore (with the mug nerf)?
A Phant Mesmer can’t do a blurred frenzy + point blank instant max damage mind wrack for those numbers stated. Basically you described a Mesmer who has full traits and utilities for both phant and shatter build.
This game is intertwined in extreme ways so any change made, even very small ones, will have a ripple affect. You saw this when they changed the timing between a phantasm’s summon and their first attack months ago. That was suppose to fix one trait specifically with the izerker but it caused hell for all phantasms across the board.
Then a simple Band-Aid fix till they fully sort everything out? The main issue is the missing hits/damage. So why not increase the damage by 15-30% to temporary offset the lost damage from frequent misses? Granted numbers can be adjusted for balance issues, but a simple increase in damage to off-set the unintended misses would be simple and quick.
3months since izerker broke.
12days since last red post, "we have never seen that error ".
No solid communication on izerker issues being recognized or fixed.
Raises pitchfork for body count on issue.
+1 to fix izerker. My message probably won’t mean much anyway. Here to add on to the body count on fixing izerker.
On side note: Seriously? 3months of no fix? Ohh…lets fix erm…warrior skill on burning oil in WvW yea…that seems important.

I guess this may be it… “E-sport PvP” in GW2 can just be canned and thrown away. sPvP in GW2 is already dying due to many reasons and poor response as shown in this thread might as well be the final pushing factors to kill sPvP. Honestly, I have lost all hope in the possibilitly of competitive sPvP in GW2.
Just rename sPvP to Casual PvP (cPvP) in GW2 and save the grace of “Structured” PvP by introducing it in a expansion pack. I believe the monetary value of an expansion will provide motivation to make proper competitive PvP possible.
Its ok to need time to fix, but no response at all? I don’t expect the specific bug-alert staff to be on daily, checking every forum for bugs but… I’m sure a moderator had been active in Mesmer forums locking away a thread labelled “Next patch to officially rename our class” for no real goal in the thread recently while my topic was up. It kinda felt like, “oh this is not my responsibility so I’m not going to post anything”. A simple post just saying “related staff will be informed” goes a long way.

@Zid.4196: As I said in my openning post, I highly believe this bug is linked to tournament weapon/trait lock-in feature introduced this patch. This feature is present in both free & paid tourny from the patch notes. As I do not have a paid-tournament team, I am unable to show you screenshots but I strongly believe this will occur in paid tournies too. Perhaps some kind soul with a tournament team could burn 25tickets and 4 other people’s time to slap a screenshot? Maybe with gems(real-money related) on the line A-net would be more likely to respond faster.
Sure, I’m not severely affected by this bug alone but its adding on the mountain of bugs since launch and slowly, but surely, worsening my impression of GW2.
Ok, so its been 23hours now, almost a full day since I have posted this bug, together with screenshots and suggestions on how this bug occurred… and not a SINGLE official response?
To be honest, I expected such a serious bug like this to be rectified within 24hours. Wouldn’t basic common sense point towards the tournament weapon/trait lock-down feature being reversed until this issue is fixed?
This bug is so severe, it basically prevents Mesmers from having any meaningful tournaments at all. If issues as game-breaking as this is unable to get a prompt response/fix, how hopeful will this mean for other issues? I mean, you don’t even need to play a Mesmer or have much PvP experience to know something very wrong is happening.
I guess this just goes to show how much resources/empathsis is placed on tPvP (considered not as income-generating?) in GW2. Furthermore though this only occurs in tPvP, I’m sure all players will get demoralized as many other such bugs infest GW2. When GW2 just launched and the 24 Karma cultural weapons incident occurred, A-net’s swift response greatly impressed me and I thought this game could’ve been something special. Many bugs since launch across all classes have been posted, stickied, “taken-note of” for months, and hung out to dry. Please, do not let GW2 become something for A-net like Diablo3 did for Blizzard.

@interferenz.8739: Enter tournaments. I highly believe this bug is linked to the “no weapon / trait swapping” after tournament starts code that was introduced this patch.
@Blundby, I think mesmers are so unused to get buffs they just cant handle it. Like ppl win the lottery and cry tears while they have hard handle the situation. This buff is the best aimed buff to shatter mesmers I seen in combo with vigour buff. Finaly thatter mesmers can use both condition dmg and same time gear for crit dmg, the might stacks will give confusion dmg a solid strenth and ppl will think before counterattack us if they at 20% hp with 12 stacks of confusion and we have 10-18 stacks of might.

I know alot of this view is from a sPvP perspective, but this might buff is extremely useful for shatter builds in terms of PvE.
PvE :
I used to feel somewhat unfair that a phantasm build has the highest single-target dps for bosses. They basically output 3phantasms, proceed to use a select few dps skills and re-regenerate phantasms when they die. Then here I am, on my shatter-build, using up almost all my skills in coordination and doing almost double the APM only to barely match-up to x3 phantasms’ dps.
Sometimes I even felt that leaving out x3 iWarlocks would do more dps in a shatter-build than bothering to coordinate clone shatters and phantasm attack cycles. This might-buff increased my PvE dps no doubt, but with no “dps-meter” available, i can’t really comment weither it is over the top or not, but please do consider shatter-builds are semi-melee and would try to land illusionary personsa’s self-shatter too.
sPvP :
I will say that I am only rank24 , so I am not that experienced in high tier sPvP gameplay. Maybe its just the habit of non-high tier sPvPers but, I would like to use 100Blades / backstab / C&D spam as comparsion tools (no offense meant).
Comparison : I agree there are usually very simple counter-measures to all of the above bursts, but the problem lies in actively having that counter available. Skilled warriors/thiefs know how to watch for your cooldown and just instant K.O you with their bursts.
So, shouldn’t glass-cannon mesmers be able to do such similar burst too? First off I would like to add that having this “constant 10+ might stack” requires either or a combination of:
Considerations :
1.) Pre-burst time to set-up clones and successfully shatter.
(Shatters, something to time and watchout for.)
-Illusions have usually been rendered useless by AoE and “losing their value” against better players as they learn to identify the real mesmer. So this trait makes shatter something to time for, other classes would have to use their AoE with considerations, during a shatter animation, rather than just use it when phantasm are out. They now have a reason to AoE normal clones.
(non-related sidenote: Map completion star makes me kitten. Yes, I want to use my main character >_<)
2.) Use of endurance (dodging) or utility slots, namely, decoy and mirror images.
(Making boon-stacking builds and clone generation skills more viable.)
-To obtain 10stacks of might without using any of the above would require a subtaintial amount of set-up time.Weapon skills usually generate 1 clone + 1phantasm.
Note: This may be an indirect buff to scepters? Scepter has been seen as weak and now this trait may open out viable builds for scepters.
-Mesmers have 4 shatter skills cooldowns assuming an illusionary personal shatter-build (shortest CD on shatters).
>Distortion(45s CD) is a survival button and unlikely to be used in bursting.
>Diversion(35s CD) inflicts daze.
>Cry of Frustration(23s CD) inflicts confusion and minor damage.
>MindWreck(11s CD) inflicts heavy damage, usually base damage of 2k per illusion.
Thus, to obtain on-demand 9stack might to burst WITH MindWreck would require another shatter before hand. This means a total of 6 illusions, out of which 3 must be quickly generated to be effective.
-Mirror images have been considered sub-par when better options such as portal / blink /decoy / nullfield / signet of donimation all contest for utility slots. With this trait, mirror images are worth considering.
Other stuff: I have only considered burst-situations as this seems to be the issue at hand, quick-heavy might stack bursts. All these is also my personal view but mainly, this buff is deserved in PvE for shatter-builds. sPvP I am no top-player expert so I will only state my thoughts. Sorry for long post and peace out

Ok, first time poster here so bear with me. I took a general look around the forums but found no other thread, so here goes:
Mesmer clones/phantasm sometimes spawn naked and does nothing in tournaments. This effect lasts through the whole match.
My speculation on this issue:
I highly believe this has something to do with illusion coding related to PvE/sPvP gear. Pre-14 Dec. patch, the coding split and clearly identified PvE/sPvP gear codes… and come 14Dec. patch, some bug appeared in it.
The result? Illusions attempt to spawn using PvE equipped gear in sPvP, fails, bugs out and spawns naked doing nothing.
-Details: This bug occured in a free-tournament match I joined, and lasted throught the whole match. Tested ONCE in a normal sPvP match and the illusions worked properly. Not sure if related to hotjoin/free/paid tournies.
Needless to say, I looked & felt like a total kitten doing pathetic damage the whole match. I almost felt as if the clones spawned with Rick Astley’s face and most famous music playing.

Did some further testing, and came up with new speculations on this bug. I did another free-tourny and the same bug occured again. Now I believe this code is related to the new “no weapon / trait swapping restriction” introduced to tournies.
