I simply still can’t understand why they made an MMORPG with such an awesome seperation regarding pvp and pve (Gear advantage) then pick a game mode that has PROVEN on various occasions that simply does not work nor wants to work.

UT tried it (numerous times), LOL (league of legends) tried it with Domination (that;s a abandoned game-mode) only a few ever play it just to break the boredom. Now ANet tries it.

Won’t work, ANet made a secondary fatal flaw with their PvP design to double the effect of this game-mode, the way the point system works. Guarding points yield nothing unless you kill a player near it, zerging around retaking node after node and killing people along the way yields triple or more points and thus rank/glory.
So the OP is right, If you people really want to turn this into an e-sport, you got a lot of work to do, for the masses, this simply is not worth the time.

Looking forward to the Guild Missions but also have some decent fears for them.

Not really regarding difficulty scale, but more that larger guilds with more influence income can host more, ergo, more will join them, Larger guilds will grow larger, smaller will wither and die if they can;t keep up..

I hope the influence cost is low enough for smaller guilds to host these events as well, with decent rewards, or this feature could cause a giant rift in the community.

But I do welcome the new additions regardless.

ty Mod, however, with or without defiant, the group i run with, ignore it 90% of the because the bosses are no challenge what so ever, just large pools of HP. Their attacks are easely mitigated, we insta-res if one does go down, and we have 2 running support, 2 DPS, 1 versitile.

Most bosses are just a hold up more then a challenge.

200 Icebrood, 0% MF, 1 rare, 3 Lodestones, 200 Icebrood 236% MF, 1 Lodestone, 0 rares.

No MF is not worth your time really, as long as the loot tables are also a factor of RNG, all you do is get higher .% , but boosting them all…so also the crap ones. Drop rate increases by 0%. I now Farm the icebrood colossus for 1 hour a day, 0% MF, (don;t count the amount) 6/10 x i walk away with a minimal of 2 lodetones, record is at 8 now lol.

All you have to do is change zones for about an hour if you hit DR.

Actually this isn;t right, DR (if activated on your account) it has 1 reset time per 24 hours.

I was at first fine with only Exotics, still am, but by simply playing the game’s content, helping guildies getting AC runs, etc etc etc, I ended up obtaining the Karma required for all the obsidian shards i needed, enough tokens for 3 AC weapons and a Gift, JP daily in WvW gave me enough tokens for Gift of Battle, and completing all area;s gives Gift of Exploration, salvaging any rare’s that are worth less thekittenve ecto’s. etc etc.

The thing is, apart from the pre-cursor, you get all the mats you need from simply playing the game, so instead of selling every t6 mat you get, how about just banking it, over time you will have 250 of each. 2.8/4 of your legendary you will get by simply playing the game, even as a casual. The lodestones are a little trickier and the pre-cursors are just stupid in TP price.

As the stats of legendaries will never be higher then the best obtainable other weapons, I really do not see why people get so upset, yes, when Ascended weaponry will be introduced the legendary owners will get an instant upgrade, however everyone else will need prolly about 2-3 weeks to farm for Ascended weapon, with the same stats as a legendary.

Honestly, if you put a chest as drop indicator in the game, apart from the mob looting when dead, don;t put useless green’s and stuff in it. The only rarity that should be in a TREASURE chest, should be rare and higher.

Piken Square just pulled it off, after like 10 tries, we had about 30 people for it.

We figured out, Ranged DPS + -50% fall damage trait, also you can dodgeroll the second you hit the floor and avoid almost all damage.

Sounds good to me, getting people back into the maps.

But I do have my concerns.

1: How many Laurels will it take to trade for 1 Ascended item.
2: What is going to be the effect of the AoE nerfes
3: Bug Fixes, is there room for this to be adressed sufficiently
4: PvP Balance issues, has there been enough attention spend on this aspect
5: Revamped WvW…in what way?
6: UI, will we have the option to chose between current and new, in case one does not like the new one.

Just things that are on my mind.

Mike Witter was the only one that said, want to say so much, but can;t. Ok fair enough.

HIRE someone to do this for the team, 1 person ASKS the question and the lead designer gives the answer IF allowed / cleared by your board.

My main’s a warrior, and some might not seem to realise, but Warrior skills are almost all multi target with GS..just sayin, so this nerf effects us as well. But what perked my ears was how they stated it in the Twitch session, “you people (Community) have been asking for this” euhm..no offense ANet, I haven’t seen anyone complain about AoE strength, Yes a trebuchet shot in your face SHOULD destroy you, you;re not a mountain kitten Yes a giant rock from a Catapult SHOULD do massive damage if you eat it in your face.

Class AoE’s apart from maybe the MASSIVE CAST TIME Ele AoE’s are nothing THAT strong that require’s a nerf..not in PvE, not in WvW not in PvP….seriously, where do you people get your data and information from?

On a sidenote: You guys REALLY REALLY need a PR department, or someone to organize these twitch things, you where all over the place, no structure and just babbling half the time about..well nothing we didnt know.

Same on Piken Square, we had South and North @ Rally point, Central would not start, we found Lone Outpost was stuck as well, making progression stuck there as well. Same for Central, stuck at 1st stage (Megalasers).

Resulting in Balthazar temple not starting.

Its really annoying that Balthazar temple is the only decent way of obtaining Obsidian Shards, there should be at least 1 other Temple NPC selling these things, as nobody really plays Straits of Devastation, the map is horrible to navigate, events make no sense, take brass claw, pact loses it within 5 minutes….whats the point?

Been working on my Legendary for about 2 months now, I refuse 2 play stock broker, been there done that, I am doing it the old fashion SLOW Way, why? Cause then once I obtain it, it will be an achievement for Myself, I don;t care what other’s thing, Don;t care if others get it within a month, or just sell gems and buy it from the TP. I just want it for a personal achievement.

As for the OP: Legendaries should NOT be tradable, make them Account Bound, and poof, away goes the insane TP stuff

Apart from the poor charm from this first born sunflower, and getting an awesome sword, his character annoyed me throughout the entire storyline, I hated everything about this walking plant, mainly, HE NEVER SHUTS UP! His responses to battles are simply kitten we decided to attack the Risen, and all he can say; “This won’t end well”. Then don’t tag along, shut up, and come after I slaughter everyone, whiny little plant. I personally thought trahearne was more annoying with his constant babling then the president’s daughter from Resident evil 4 (Think it was 4)..the that keeps shouting LEON!….

P.S. Just got client crash on 4th fractal (lvl 12). Have never seen crashes for last I think 2 months… Thank you very much ANet for my spoiled mood. It’s been almost 2 months and you still “working on the issue”. Great job.

P.P.S. And yes, I know you are really sorry about that.

Well be in the next major patch: Also with able to accept lower level fractal players into higher level fractal runs.

So tell me, what is it that GW2 did so much better than the competition that meant it should receive an award? I honestly can’t think of any features it brought out that were significantly better and it doesn’t win on overall IMHO – though I couldn’t actually say who should.

How about new mechanics, and groundbreaking new look and feels about ancient aspects of MMO’s?

It sucks cause its not like bla bla bla…its called originality, hate it or love it, it doesn’t matter, they tried something new.

Of course the game has its flaws, and please stop comparing it to World of Borecraft and Skyrimming.

So reading through the whole postings here, nice to see many different opinions, however I see a lot of similarities as well.

The game is 4.5 – 5 months old (since launch) now, and the END GAME is more then most MMO’s had ever before at this stage of the game’s age, some seem very good at ignoring this fact.

Secondly many compare End Game content to what they are USED TO, meaning, what we know from previous MMORPG’s, I would never compare GW2 to the old mmo’s, If you really look at the core of old MMO’s endgame it was but 1 thing, get the best gear and weapon. That was it PvE wise, then you went to the PvP places and showed it off, get killed, and become better as a player. Stand AFK in the main city doing trading and chatting all day long and WoW players would do raids to get more money to spend on……..what exactly? you had the endgame gear.

In GW2 end game is a entirely different concept in itself, so stop thinking about what you are used to and try and adapt your view to what is end game here, and it is most definately NOT just running Fractals all kitten day.

Because of the upscaling (in certain situations and places) and downscaling you can utilize all of Tyria as end game zones, this makes it a lot bigger then getting super gear and facerolling through dungeons.

I wish to see the official statement from the gm for this quote, any link?

Because I have yet to see a single GM ingame (EU servers). The bot farming locations are known to pretty much everyone, I could take a GM by the hand and direct them to each location on every map. it would take about 30 minutes to clear the server of bots with an ingame removal / ban tool.

So I highly doubt they have anyone actually doing this, and if so he needs to start doing a better job.

At the OP; they have chosen to ban bots in waves, meaning every 3-4 weeks a banround comes in and they remove what they have confirmed as a bot. Problem is, their back the next day, banning bots is a daily business, not monthly mass ban it simply does not work.

It is corrupting the market, corruption server capacity and most definately corrupting PvE players from enjoyment in certain locations and times.

Example: Events that scale up insanely due to all the bots running in that location, making them impossible to do with 2-3 people.

PvE isn’t exactly the same as going “chinese gold-farmer mode”. So I wouldn’t compare those two, honestly.

In fact, I think you just shot all the PvE-lovers out there in the balls, without apologising to them afterwards.

How exactly? Play cursed shore events for a day, say 5 hours in a row, you only ecounter risen mobs, ergo you will hit DR for just playing the map as intended. And I am not comparing players with bots, read first.

Bots farm in 1 location for days and days without a break, however actual players might farm for 2-3 hours in a spot and call it a day, or go do events or some pvp. But there are some that are farming towards something and are willing to put in multiple hours of farming, this game simply denies you that option, unless you are willing to constantly stop what you are doing and go do something else to avoid the DR activating.

Problem is there is not really any way to see that you have DR with you, not 100% sure, I could just have had 30 mobs of bad luck, but I seriously doubt that, 30 mobs not 1 drops anything?

sPvP: 2/10 (its just a mess)
tPvP: 8/10
Viable build options: 3/10 (Bunker, Glass or Condition (sorta))

No Ranking / Ladder, No matchmaking system, no team options or smart AI balancing, only 1 gamemode.

Overall: 5/10

If they truly wish to obtain the E-Sport title….they have a lot of work cut out for them still

Projectile Ducking/ Game breaking?

If you play a melee with no ranged attack (like a bunker or something), your dead in the water without this. The majority of cap points in this game have arbitrary high ground that just creates easy kiting/safe locations for ranged units to attack directly onto the cap point. A melee without ranged has basically no way to fight back without eating massive damage traversing the extra terrain (and it wastes a hell of alot of time chasing them around obstacles too – at which point the ranged guy can just jump down). Think krylo center point, forest all 3 points, temple all 3 points, capricorn 2 side points, legacy center point.

If they ever did make it so projectiles can’t miss, then melees would be absolutely useless. There’s already too many ways for a ranged build to hit directly onto the cap points with huge terrain advantages.

Love this example, yes, true what you said but look at the OP’s vid, i actually do this on my shout warrior defending top keep, works on anything ranged, you can shoot as much as you want, not 1 arrow will hit me. THAT"S the problem. Providing they use auto-targeting…

Either influence get’s shared when some1 is in multiple guilds, or multi-guild system needs to be removed all together.

For some its a very enjoyable feature, but for any guild leader and/or officers this system in its current state is an absolute nightmare.

It is the main reason for me not to start anoter guild after leading one in each MMO i played for years.

Title is self-explanetory,

ANet introduced Diminishing returns as an anti-botting code, this is HORRIBLE! Right now legendaries run you insane amounts of gold, the only way you can get any decent gold is through farming Lodestones for example, however beacause DR only resets 1x per 24 hours, farming (which players never really enjoy anyways) made things even worse.

This morning I was doing a farm run, and Claw or Jormag was up, unfortunately, only 3 people showed up, including me. So as you can see, it takes a while, litterally 100’s of Icebrood mobs further, we killed Jormag, I went to my Icebrood Colossus spot and swithcing to full MF gear, popped my Banner, omnomberry and 50% MF booster, now sitting at 200 MF roughly I started farming, 1st mob dropped a lodestone, sweet! lucky me, 10 mobs later, no more drops, another 30 mobs later, still not a single drop more, my only guess is; DR activated, great, so now I have to wait till 17:00 PDT for it to be reset! GG ANET!

Here is my suggestion to you at ANet, do as real GM’s do their job!

Remove DR, have 1 active GM or VGM (Volenteer Game Master), this is PER SERVER or per 2-3 servers, the botting locations are well known to all, report and remove Bots, they are easy to spot!, ban them for 1 week or indefinate.

To ensure VGM’s do not accidentally ban actual players that are farming, they can only report, to which a GM comes to that location and talks to the players in the area, If they do not respond within 10 minutes, but are actively farming mobs, and you asked them in multiple channels, whisper and normal and ingame mail, then they are most clearly botting.

This may be more work on your end, but we are paying customers, and it is your job to make sure we get what we paid for, if i feel like farming 1 spot for 3 hours straight, it should not be a problem. DR makes this entire game very PVE unfriendly.

Expirienced thieves do this without the use of a macro, depends on how fast you are with your fingers.

As Main warrior, who has hardly any good viable builds, shout heal or glass cannon, both do not really incorporate my playstyle, I rolled a Ranger, pre-patch actually, and enjoyed them alot more in pvp, however as the OP shows this was the main thing I noticed the first round I played, projectiles get shot into the expected trajectory, this wiggling thing, or even simple change of direction of the opponent, will make arrows miss, problem is that in a fight with a short bow, only 40% of the arrows will actually hit your target with this system, as they are constantly moving, and unless they are simply strafing in a linear way, you just won;t hit your target, meaning in 1v1 situations it becomes a severe handycap even just to land your regular hits.

Daily’s and montly karma jug’s, save those up, I almost have 100 of jugs and a few flask’s gulps, with Karma booster 50%, Karma Banner +5 and 1 extra buff you can look for…Outmanned buff in WvW (33% Karma) = + 78%. For a jug that;’s almost 9k per jug.

As for open world, the best route is still Shelter, Penitent R&D, with plinx every hour.
Unfortunately, at this current time, due to wintersday events, you will not find as many people there, after all this is done, you’re gonna be good to go here again.

Karma is not your main concern for the legendary though, Ive been working on it for almost 3 months now, the prices keep going up, Charged Lodestones are rediculous now (if your legendary requires these), precursor weapons are now between 300 – 600g,

Ectoplasm is going too take you a while as well.

The only thing I would say is, how come that Event PvP (Remember the 2 Halloween PvP modes?) are being played MASSIVELY, while sPvP is slowly withering and dieing?

All I can say about this is that it has nothing to do with time, its simply the chance on a DIFFERENT mode of PvP, the current one is just to stale, boring and does not give much room for different builds.

I would much rather play a game that is designed/changed based on the developers vision instead of the majority of forum posts. It’s fine to take feedback but that’s about it.

It was not to make the dev’s buff/nerf on basis of the forums, this should NEVER be the source income of data for changes, as there as simply to many opinions and 1 will never be complete.

That is why my SUGGESTION is for the Dev’s to release an explanetory video, like Riot does for League of Legends, explaining their thought process behind the changes, and why!

This will be much better then a simple patch text stating WHAT changed, but more explains WHY they changed it. This should also create less confusion amongst players.

Progression System Suggestion for WvW

Yes to non-stat boosting things, or maybe even +% EXP boost / +% Karma boost.

But not solely on Kills, this would only encourage more zerging and spawn farming. I suggest to make it co-incide with Succesful capture’s, Defense and UPGRADES!!

This way for ONCE, upgrading a structure will not simply cost you only money, which is hard to come by in WvWvW, but also give you a personal progression.

Title’s are also something that would be nice to see, the current achievement titles are basically rediculous to obtain unless you WvWvW all day, every day, for the next 2 years.

The announcement system I also like that the OP suggested, however I would not implement the downed and finished announcement, this would reveal names and could open doors to harrassment and verbal abuse towards the currently unknown player (Some take gaming way to serious, you all know this to be true.)

Thnx for bumping this thread, I also thought it was just bugging out on me or my missclicking or something, moving the camera and losing target or selecting something unintended.

in PvP scenario’s this is very annoying, moving the camera to follow a mesmer, only to lose target half the time, or it selecting a darn clone.

Dear ANet, this is one of the easiest to fix problems, simply add a checkbox in the options menu to turn right click select ON or OFF.

Ok, slightly more suggestion box thing, but its regarding PvP.

Balancing/buffing or nerfing certains skills might be good for PvE, it will destroy PvP aspects.

Although some skill changes make perfect sense regarding PvE they make absolutely no sense regarding the PvP aspect in this game, for instance, buffing underwater skills, I have yet to find a single forum post with players discussing this to be a problem.

Mesmer and Thief buff…clearing they are not paying attention to the forums here either, why give mesmer’s a might stacking buff on shatter? Nobody asked for it, or found it necessary, not even mesmer players.

What I suggest ANet should start doing is similar to what Riot Games does for League of Legends (LoL), when introducing a new patch, for balance or nerf they also release a short youtube video explaining why certain descicions for skills where made, this in general made me feel more informed into why they changed it, with their mindset, to understand WHY you changed certain things.

For instance underwater skills, did they buff them to make players explore the underwater combat more? Most avoid it, however it is vastly improved related to other MMO’s or games in general, it is still a tricky combat thing, that most simply do not find appealing.

I was just wondering if other players felt the same about this as I do, let ANet make an explenation video on certain changes and why? PvE or PvP balance issues? what is their stance in general about certain things on PvP, etc etc etc.

As your PvP and PvE environments are linked, I understand it is extremely tricky to get the right balance, but at least bother giving us a better explenation on WHY you changed certain skill mechanics.

Regarding the PvP aspect mainly, as PvE will work even without any changes what so ever.

Although some skill changes make perfect sense regarding PvE they make absolutely no sense regarding the PvP aspect in this game, for instance, buffing underwater skills, I have yet to find a single forum post with players discussing this to be a problem.

Mesmer and Thief buff…clearing they are not paying attention to the forums here either, why give mesmer’s a might stacking buff on shatter? Nobody asked for it, or found it necessary, not even mesmer players.

What I suggest ANet should start doing is similar to what Riot Games does for League of Legends (LoL), when introducing a new patch, for balance or nerf they also release a short youtube video explaining why certain descicions for skills where made, this in general made me understand better why they changed it, with their mindset, to understand WHY you changed certain things.

For instance underwater skills, did they buff them to make players explore the underwater combat more? Most avoid it, however it is vastly improved related to other MMO’s or games in general, it is still a tricky combat thing, that most simply do not find appealing.

I was just wondering if other players felt the same about this as I do, let ANet make an explenation video on certain changes and why? PvE or PvP balance issues? what is their stance in general about certain things on PvP, etc etc etc.

I run both, Hammer for CC, clutch revive etc, and GS for damage output when no CC is required or in combination with a CC from Hammer to land a HB for instance, Mace Shield or Sword Mace instead of GS if I need to have constant CC going. Depends.

1. Remove down state form PvP. If you die – you die. Now on every single downed player you will get 7 braindeads trying to finish him while enemy team captures point or wipes them all and at the end the victim gets up.

2. Get rid of this ridiculous capture the point mode. Noone wants to run around map in circle, this is not nascar race.

3. Bring in ladders,ranks and general player ranking. Everyone wants too see their name in high positon at ladder and show it to their friends. Both solo and premade teams.

4. Add 4×4 team deathmach arena both random and ranked.

5. Remove Hotjoin. Every single time loosing teams just leaves the game because no punishments are involved.

6. PvP should include PvE rewards of somekind. Maybe skins, maybe pets or maybe even exp tokens for their alts or even the hero they are playing. Actually beeing able to lvl up only by PvP would spring it back to life.

7. Enable sparring in Mists. Only real way to learn your class is to duel someone else. Zerging isint the way. People get killed, get frustated and just leaves the class or game entirely.

8 . Remove this ridiculous PvP crafting. For playing players should receive someking of tokens and for them buy gear. Better looking gear – more tokens. Same with weapons. Beeing flashy and unique looking will take time but it will also indicate players rank and experience in battlefield.

1: Although it does break the flow of the game pace, it is unique new system that makes it more rewarding for teamplay and awareness.

2: No, keep Domination / Capture mode, but include more / alternative modes to choose from.

5: Not sure, its the easiest way to obtain Daily PvP, remove point system to discourage zerging and emphisise more on node defense, succesfully defending a node now yields no real reward compared to zerging around killing and retaking nodes all the time. A possible idea could be to give 1 Point per second for standing on a node, this way defending makes sense if they keep this point system.

6: Uhm…leveling is neither hard nor slow in this game, I like the fact that they are seperate here. This point is more a personal prefferance.

7: Yes, we need a dueling system, for beginners / “Noobs” to try out builds and get some basic expirience before jumping into a full fray.

8: Current system is fine, higher rank has access to more flashy looking gear, however they are marely estecics. Thus here rank only indicates expirience, not faceroll gear advantage.

I swear most of the people that respond by going to http://wiki.guildwars2.com and listing every warrior’s method of removing conditions have not actually played warrior in sPvP.

Yes you can remove a condition with warhorn + quick breathing. Go use that warhorn in sPvP and come back and tell me how awesome that was. Runed Shouts? Really? You will be worse off in all match-ups.

Seriously. Go use the builds you recommend. Here’s what will happen.

Against a condition build – You will survive longer against conditions. You will still lose though because you are equipped for less damage via weapons/utilities, and will not be able to put on any real pressure via lasting damage. You will also not survive indefinitely like a bunker build since warrior has very limited self-healing options. So you lose, but you lose slower.

Against a glass cannon build. You have a little more survival since you won’t be strait glass cannon, but your damage output it way worse. If you ever played this game in sPvP at all, you already know that damage stats far out-scale defensive stats (unless its protection/vigor or defensive cds like stealth, mistform, etc) So you lose here more too.

Against a bunker: you’re beyond screwed. You can barely pressure a condition build (most condition builds are innately tanky), so you absolutely can’t touch a bunker. They will just chip you down slowly as well like a condition build (slower, but its an inevitable win for them) Warrior, due to poor self healing options again can’t win. Most bunker builds will kill you, and end fight at full life.

And this is coming from someone who started hammer + axe/warhorn build with healing shouts in sPvP. I’ve literally tried every build i think, even the weird stuff like sword/mace. GS glass cannon was the last thing i tried since i did not want to be “another gs warrior” But once you play enough sPvP you realize that its currently the most optimal build. And can beat most glass cannons, you can kill a condition build or bunker build if you end the fight relatively fast before the conditions/self heals overwhelm you. Its not easy, but its not impossible. Some middle of the road build though just will not put enough pressure on a condition or bunker build to ever kill them. You will just survive longer but inevitably die.

Although VS a bunker Its an endless fight, on my shout warrior Hammer /GS, with slightly different trait setup, I can pressure them into going defensive, and giving me breathing space 2 heal up fully, but an endless fight, vs glass cannon a full burst won;t do me an problems, CC the hell out of the glass cannon the second I get an opening, thieves generally just go invis and run, so the point is defended all that matters.

But the problem is, you are nowhere NEAR as effective as any other bunker class, support role is not that hot either, but in a well formed TEAM you’re contributing a fair amount through shout healing them + giving them constant boons and condition removal.

vs a glass cannon, yah well, bunker-ish build will live, but won;t be able to catch them cause warrior’s in this setup have but few gap closers, but with training you can catch them and kill quite a bit.

Problem really is though, warriors are now foced into kitten builds, neither a real bunker nor, compared to other classes, a solid glass cannon (meaning having escape options, we are very limited on this and with our GC build we do not have any decent condition removal technique’s besides 1 heal with a trait…yay..)

Overall the Warrior class is by far the WEAKEST in PvP, yes in PVE they do just fine, because mobs don;t require much skill to take down, but PvP wise we are simply on the bottom of the list, either become a kitten bunker / support with the damage output of a wet noodle or glass cannon that either succeeds in killing you or end up facing the dirt.

(The above is a bit rough, really expirienced players make these builds work just fine, the matter of the fact remains however, we are not versitile enough for PvP perposes, WvW expluded.)

Ps: Condi warriors? vs a warrior fine, but vs any other class with all their options for boon’s and condition removal, they utterly suck…

I haven’t been able to get into a single free or paid tourney in Piken Square / EU, at ALL, I am now forced to join a guild of a different server just to get a chance at these tourney’s.

I believe the implementation of a que list / sign up list would be better then team list, example: 5 people register themselves, some1 can start inviting them to join the team and register for hte tourney, this way it should become much more accessable to find teams randomly for casual / semi-serious pvp players.

This was a “Minor” balance patch, not Meta overhaul, the big patch they are working on is in february, you should have known what you could expect OP, If they will put in new game modes it will be then, not now.

Some changes are good, some bad, warrior’s are basically stated that they need a babysitter…makes me sad….

But finally love for ranger’s, some changes on other classes i can agree or disagree with, but first i will just fight them and see how it truly affects it all compared 2 before.

GW2 has the POTENTIAL to beat or equal GW1 PvP, However, first it needs balancing and the elimination of 99% of exploitable bugs, tweaks and other classs adjustments, like trait line revisions, once these are in line, new game modes and other things need to be added for more PvP content.

Problem here is, most of you hold on to GW1 pvp so much, you want to compare the 2, you should not, give it some time for the devs to work on this aspect, yes the main focus was the PvE aspect and WvW if you watched the initial interviews, branching storylines, dynamic events, new mechanics, etc etc etc.

But my fear just is that once they get around to s/tPvP its going to be pretty much abandoned by 90% of the casual players and only for the top 10% of the PvP community. This is what I would really find dishearting.

1: Bug Fixes / Exploit Fixes
2: Que list / Custom match creation
3: revamped point system (Current on only ecourages zerging in hot join)
4: Better Tournament ranking and listing, eg: Sign up list for LFG Tourney, make it easier to get teams going.)
5: Toughness needs better scaling vs Damage
6: Nerf Burst builds (Will give more viable builds)
7: Nerf Bunker builds (Will give more viable builds)
8: Reduce damage on HB
9: Buff rangers (seriously)
10: New PvP modes (just 1 is simply boring, add CTF or something)
11: General class fixes
12: Revamped Trait lines (some are simply worthless)
13: Better team compositioning system (sPvP mainly here)

List goes on if i really sit down and think about it, but for now the above really needs some attention, some might disagree, but this is MY OPINION.

Piken Square here as well, never any tourney’s going on here, sPvP is mainly full of trolling naabs, gets really repetative and boring.

ANet simply needs to make the mists and PvP servers fully intergrated , all EU have the same lobby / server list and tourney list, this way people might actually get to set up a pug tourney or 2, instead of watching streams of the top teams on youtube.

I would just like to even start participating in a Tournament, paid or free, pug game with or without VoIP, don;t really care, but I have over 120 tickets now….and nothing to do with them, because there are NEVER any tournament’s going on in the lobby, (Piken Square Server), still wondering if the server’s are intertwined? EU all servers are connected regarding s/tPvP right?

I never see teams signed up, waiting for the full 8/8 to complete, during hightimes there are fixed teams that run, no chance for me to get a spot.

And hot join is starting to get REALLY REALLY boring…with trolling perma-stealth thieves and glass cannon only builds or unkillable bunkers.

Main is warrior, played thief a while, now checking out the ranger and seeing how he works in PvP…2800 Toughness? still get 3 hit by glass cannons…(we need better armor scaling…)

Edit: The above does not mean I dont know how to dodge or anticipate their attacks, however, spammable glass cannon skills should not be able to get through nearly 3K armor with 3 hits…the ranger is a condition build, warrior is shout heal, glass cannons can do what they like there, he’ll be fine, but still, 2 or 3…gl with that on “bunker” warrior.

Anyways, regarding OP, I agree, I never see anyone trying to even put up a tournament, I have tried, but i’m a pug..so no1 listens.

and please people, saying: Join a PvP guild should NOT be the answer.

we need a Party / Matchmaking system YESTERDAY!

Like a sign up list that you are looking for a tournament team that other’s can browse. Teleporting over all maps, pvp and pve asking people who want’s to start a tourney, is a highly ineffective and discouraging way of getting this going.

Honestly, because of the lack of a dueling 1v1 server, or 2v2 or 3v3, where guildies generally go in a 5v5 hot join match to try builds without interruptions when I notice people are not actually capping points and are somewhere in the middle watching 2 people fight, I either leave if I wish to actually play a round as intended on a different server, or ask to join to improve my own skills vs these new builds and classes.

It is bad taste in my opinion to just ruin it all for people because they are trying to find an empty server to do this in.
