Since this update will have many QoL updates I thought I might as well try to bring my suggestions in.

Option to disable other players combat effects
Guess anyone who plays melee and had an Ele’s, Guards or Mesmer in his group knows that it just sucks to be punished for not seeing the enemy under all the effects.

After over a year without being able to see a thing in melee (with certain classes in a group), please Anet, please add this

As the title says, an option for that would be awesome.

I always liked the “play as you want” aspect and I also like to play melee, but getting punished because I can’t see my enemy just plain sucks.

With a toggle I would only see the effects of my enemy and my own, that would remove the punishment for not being able to see the enemys move

(sure, you can dodge without seeing him doing anything, but that would just be luck based)

also if you want, please support the post in the October 15th preview -Thread since it already contains a lot of Quality of Life updates

Thanks for posting here, but the main problem isn’t the length.
Sure, it would be great if you don’t just get the longest, but more important would be the rewards.
The only reason I do fractals is because I really like them (and still haven’t got a fractal dagger after over 2000 runs 38-48, lol), but if I wouldn’t like them that much, I wouldn’t even bother thinking about doing them.

2 Important things many players would most likely see an answer too:
1) There are quite some really good threads with suggestions, please tell us you’ve looked into them or at least will look into them, since a majority of players find them quite good
2) What time frame? This year? early next year? mid-next year? or more to the end of next year?

I honestly don’t have a problem with it, to some degree.

What I hate and don’t agree with, is leaking the information, some people don’t like surprises ruined.

So keep the found information to yourselves.

this, if people wouldn’t leak them they wouldn’t need to hide them.
Those who still can’t wait for more informations can learn to mine for themselves

You don’t need to get to the Open World to do events.

Dungeons/fractals rewards karma too. See for example the Events existing in Dungeons,

I can’t quite understand why it got nerfed.

Before, the main way of getting karma was with dailies and monthlies.
It seems the only way to get a decent amount of karma is events now?
Championbags and Dungeons won’t give Karma anymore.

I need Karma since I want to craft a legendary, but I don’t want to play events to reach a decent amount in an acceptable time.

If there was a problem with dailies giving too much karma, could anyone explain it to me? because I can’t see one

edit: It’s NOT that I don’t want to play the game, I just like Dungeons, Fractals and a bit PvP way more than mindlessly doing events

Can we get a Statement regarding DX11?
I’m sure at least 95% of the Players use it already, if not even more.

Besides the finisher you can brag with, what’s the other part of the rewards?
Or better: how good are they? / How much difference is between loosing and winning server reward?

The reason I’m asking this is, if the rewards are really, really, really good, many would consider a transfer to the server that’ll most likely win.
My hope is, that the finisher is the biggest reward and the rest doesn’t differ too far.

1) As the title says, will it get buffed too?

I transmuted it to get Zerker-stats, but now I’m not sure if it’ll get a buff too.

Would really like to get a confirmation for that.

2) Also, after the patch, when I transmute a legendary to get it over to another character and then transmute it back to ascended, will I still be able to switch stats?

If some mod or dev sees this, it’d be really great to get an answer, especially since there are lots of players that would like to know the answer for at least one of those 2 questions ^^

Money is this game is HARD to make, theres a wall that almost no one can pass until they get a precursor drop, otherwise your average person makes ~5g a day, especially now that emberfarm and deadeye are gone.

I can make 5 gold in less than 1 hour, easily, without making events fail.
And if I want to make even more gold even faster → play the TP

I haven’t read through all the other threads or even counted them, so I don’t know if something similiar was already mentioned.

What we need
To make it worth completing events, without nerfing them too hard or even nerfing the normal champions which spawn without an event.

The idea: DR
Simple as that.
For each champion of a certain type, that spawns in an event, make the chance for a lootbag lower.

Example
You kill X Champs in an Event, for those Champs the Droprate is 100%
After you killed X Champs, the Dropchance lowers um C^Y% for each champ
Y = some value
C = total number of champs killed

Example with Values
The first 3 Champs the droprate is 100%
Y = 2
Now the 4th champ get’s killed, so the new Dropchance (X) will be:
X = 100 – 4^2 = 100 – 4*4 = 84%
After the 8th champ:
X = 100 – 8^2 = 100 – 8*8 = 36%
And after the 10th champ:
X = 100 – 10^2 = 100 – 10*10 = 0%

This is just an example, those values and the method it’s calculated can be totally different

- Players want to fail events for farming champs? -> Not anymore
- Players still get rewards for doing champs? -> yep
- Open-World Champs unaffected? -> yep

That’s what every mmorpg game do. Try to slow your progress down so you don’t reach your goal too fast.

It’s either time gate or make ascended gear super expensive. Quite honestly I prefer time gate.

if it would be per char, I’d be fine, but accountbound? The more chars you want to equip, the longer you need to wait.
per char wouldn’t be that bad, considering that you need to max at least one crafting discipline (and why max several chars if you can just buy the mats cheaper? that means it would mostly be used by people who already have some maxed alts)

Since my last post apparently was too rude or something, I’ll try to post again, but with less ranting, since I still would like to see the opinion of others, any maybe even someone from Anet and their thoughts why they need to do this.


Afaik, the things we can craft at 500 will be timegated since we can only craft one T7 Material (of each type) per day.
If I’m not correct, please corret me, if I’m corret: why?
Why does so many things have to be time gated?
I do play 6 different classes, preferably in fractals, it took a long time to get them all to 45 AR.
Time gated content is -imho- bad
I can’t see a single reason why this would be necessary.

I really love guild wars, but this thing… as a player with many alts and not that much time (but the urge to keep them all up to date), it’s a bit sad.

it’s just an example, those errors can happen pretty often if you have a kittenty connection.

you click, nothing happens, click again, again nothing and suddenly you bought 10x more than you wanted.
and even if you got the best connection possible (aka next to the servers) you can still missclick and buy for more than you wanted, simply because the money is always there to spend

another example in RL:
do you always carry all your money in your wallet? no? Pretty sure it’s not only because you could loose it or get robbed,
Personally I never have too much money in my wallet, preferably just a tiny bit more than I need to buy what I wanted to buy, so I don’t even get tempted to buy something else
(but I guess you never bought some candies you didn’t plan on, just because you could?)

oh, and another one:
this game is played by kids too, because, well, kids play games, at least some of them, right?
Even if we adults (the great great adults) would never have a bad connection or misclick, there still would be kids, and have you ever seen a kid in front of a slow PC or a bad internet connection?
Many of them just clickclickclickclickclickclickclickclickclickclickclick until it continues

It’s amazing that we can train dogs to stop kittenting on the carpet, but we can’t teach the ranger community to adapt, develop a higher skill set, and stop crying.

Other question:
Why don’t get thieves rooted with d/d? Their Initiative allows for way more dodges than.
Or with SB, also more dodges than ranger.

For me, I prefer to just dodge instead of a dodge-attack-mix. Dodging gives you way more control.

Skill2: Not helpful against big aoes (only if timed perfectly and the damage duration is short enough), also it often overshoots so you get hit anyways. And many enemies have no problems with turning while the hit.

Skill3: Fast evade? nope, you need to wait a bit. Don’t want to get into fire or of a plattform? Can’t use it here either

It’s a high risk, high reward weapon. If you can’t handle it, then stick with GS.

Longbow is only useful at max range.
As soon as the mob gets to half of max range your damage sucks compared to pretty much everything.

Also, Shortbowdamage is pretty bad too. Sword does about 2-3 times the damage
(my first auto-attack hit does about 2.2 – 2.4k, the last in the chain up to 3k)

note: I don’t want to discourage you from playing SB, play whatever is most fun for you. Just maybe take a look at other weapons and maybe you’ll find a new love ^^

I know it’s often mentioned as a bug, iirc even since the start of GW2.
But has any dev every said a single word about it?
I can’t recall a dev admitting that there would be a bug.
And after such a long time where an auto-attack bug is ignored, I really wonder if it maybe is just “working as intended”
I mean, it’s AUTO-ATTACK, bug fixing should’ve the highest possible priority for that.

Also, is there any other class with a bug in it’s auto-attack? I don’t think so


I love the damage and animations, but it’s really hard to dodge, especially for newer players.
This is how I imagine new Rangers with Sword:
- “thats a cool weapon with cool animation and good damage, nice”
- “Oh, my enemy is charging his attack, better dodge”
- “Double-Tap / V”
- “Nothing happens, WTF”
- “Smashing the Keybord”
- “Dead”
- “This Weapon is crap, I’ll just stay at range with my longbow and never worry about dodging again”

(over dramatizing, I know)

It’s silly that we have to do daily or guild missions in order to be able to get higher in fractals <.<

For the skins, anything, as long as obtaining them doesn’t get worse (e.g. 35% chance for a token at 48, 10 tokens for a weapon. that would just suck…)

FIX THE ******* REWARDS!!! Seriously, it makes absolutely NO DIFFERENCE if I do level 1 or 48. I have the EXACT SAME chance for rares and exos.

I don’t care about the fractals skin chance being <40% at 48, or better said, i wouldn’t if no skin wouldn’t equal wasted time.
Seriously, the only thing worth doing for is 48, but playing about 1 hour (or worse depending on the group) and getting nothing (besides maybe 10 silver for the crap you get) just SUCKS

In the upcoming release, we’re adding a reward structure to achievement points. As you complete achievements and increase your achievement score, you’ll unlock new, exclusive rewards for your account

At least for me the “unlockable” sound like that.
I wonder why they don’t mention if they’ll be multiple use or not. IMO that would be a huge plus for almost every player (except the ones which hate anything lol)

A bit late in the development cycle to be making this sort of changes. Besides you aren’t telling them anything they don’t already know. Of course people would prefer infinite use items over one time use ones but that has to be ‘balanced’ with other things. Depending on the items involved there is the in game economy and the business model for the game to be concerned with.

If the skins were account bound skins like HoM skins were it would not influence the economy.

This. There is absolute nothing to be balanced, since those skins do not give you the slightest advantage, as long as they’re account bound (which I’m pretty sure they’ll be)

Pets/Ranger DPS in Dungeons

I can understand the nerf to Pets, as seen from a sPvP side.
But Rangers were already pretty bad DPS-wise, even as full zerker.
Mostly because the Pet is dying over and over and over.
And now the DPS from the Pet is even worse. At least some Pets can give usefull buffs.

My Question
Can we get some buffs for as long as they need to fix the pet? The horrible AI kills almost every bit of potential DPS.

Sure we can send in and call back, but even then there are things where we can’t hold the pet alive and calling back is also a DPS loss.
Theoretically, if pets wouldn’t die and hit better, we could’ve done almost as much as a warrior (compared to auto attacks), but after the Pet nerf we’re miles away (even theoretically)

It should also be mentioned that Stealth will prevent the cloaked player from being targeted by any cannons. Refuge + Powder + Smokescreen + Finisher etc.

good to know, guess I’ll just perma stealth my group when the cannon phase starts.
