I’ve lost count of the times I’ve died in WvW and then saw 3 or 4 loot bags appear next to my corpse. Now it’ll even be worse when I see loot chests, meaning it’s something rare or better… please ANet, just let us have a true autoloot option

Well, it’s still early in the week, but at this point, SBI drops to the bottom of T3 next week and Maguuma moves up.

Mine didn’t either. But last week I got a new mouse and now it’s started doing it. That makes me think it’s a setting in Windows, but I sure can’t find it.

I have 2 monitors. I usually run GW2 windowed on one monitor and use the other for web browsing, movies, whatever. Sometimes though, I switch to fullscreen non-windowed if I’m doing a dungeon run or something that takes my full attention and nothing is going on with the other monitor.

However, when I do this, my mouse can still swap to the other monitor, which minimizes GW2, usually at the worst possible moment

Is there any way to disable moving the mouse to the other monitor when GW2 is fullscreen? Is it a GW2 issue? or a Windows issue?

OK, we had a special guild meeting and have come up with our strategy for next week’s matchup. In order to pull this off, we sent a guildie to visit the secret forest we’ve been growing for a while now… I think the harvest is almost ready…

Thanks. That’s about how it felt to me. Now just gotta figure out how he did all that. I don’t remember seeing the “rampage as one” effect, but I’ve noticed sometimes it doesn’t show on my pet when it goes off.

This past few days I’ve been getting absolutely owned by a couple of rangers on SoR using their pets. One “guarded” me up on the wall of Briar and I was dead before I even knew what was hitting me. They are panther pets and the damage they do is huge. Is there a certain build that makes pets do really high damage?

Sword is a great weapon, but recently I found a way to make the SB do 2x the amount of damage and less risk as your sword does.

I’ve gone back to using my sword as more defensive weapon and using horn or torch as my damage or combo fields while I use the SB to destroy targets.

I just saw your #5 video linked in a thread on the WvW board. Could you share your build please? You get quite a bit more damage from the SB than I am getting. It actually looks quite useful in your videos

Paid transfers will have the same effect free transfers had, but there won’t be as many of them, once this initial “land rush” is over. The problem this week is that all the free transfers that were going to happen anyway in the next 6 weeks or so are happening now.

The tiers will re-align and things will calm down in a couple of weeks.

Some guildies mentioned that the change to allow people of different fractal levels to group together is coming on the 28th. Is that true? I thought it was supposed to be in February.

Having been up against SoR for a few weeks now, I can certainly sympathize LOL

I just want to know one thing though… what kind of computer do you have that can handle the culling? Usually when I see that many SoR at once, it’s after I’m dead and they are running past my still twitching corpse.

IMO we need to know the EXACT capacity of player by server on a map…

the communication is very kitten with the dev and the tooltip of the game.. and just a simple HOW TO, a manuel for gw2 need to be done.. too many option are not documented or any at all…

2000 player in WvWvW all map 500 hundred per map.. divided not equally per server…
so we do not know how many we can actually be on a map.. It has been seen, queue to enter a map and having inferiority buff on the map…
so 500 with no reserved place by server.. ? 400 of the same server and 80 of the other and 20 of the last… non sense if it works like this,..

A couple months back we had a queue on our home BL. When I finally got in, I had the ‘outmanned’ buff. Now, either a large chunk of the server logged or moved to another BL at the same time (possible I suppose) or the dominant server had way more than we did and that tied up the server.

I am leaning towards it being 500 players from all servers total, not 166 per server.

Of course, if ANet would just tell us, we could all know then

The past week or so, I’ve been having a problem crop up in large fights. I never noticed it before this past week.

At some point in the fight, I will hit a point where I can no longer move or use any abilities. Can’t even dodge. There are no conditions on me and no particle effects indicating I am stunned/rooted/etc.

It ends up with me dying a quick death as I am unable to fight back or even evade the group attacking me.

What causes this? Is there any way to prevent it?

A few weeks ago in WvW I had a warrior chasing me. My skills were on cooldown and he got the jump on me with a high damage rifle shot, so I ran for the water. It was a bit of a run and he was nipping at me the whole way. We got in the water, I spun around and dropped Whirlpool on him and his health started dropping fast. Suddenly he was running from me – I followed him out of the water and finished him off – was a satisfying kill

BG is skilled
SoR is skilled
TC is skilled

This is borne out by the fact that during most of the day, the score is pretty evenly divided. Any any time outside of Oceanic prime time, any one of the 3 servers can be ahead in pp. You look back through the past weeks’ threads if they are still available and you see a lot of score updates where the “pie” is pretty much evenly divided.

The problem is that after 5-6 hours of BG getting +600pp SoR/TC have to retake everything to get it back to a pretty even match up, but there is no way for either SoR or TC to overtake that +600 for 5-6 hours.

Sure, the fact that BG has such good Oceanic coverage is not their fault. But the chest thumping over their massive score each week is not really justified when the majority of those points come from a 6-hour window each day when SoR/TC are asleep.

A good time to get kills is on Friday nights, right after the matches reset. There are some huge battles over almost every location for several hours here. Just join a group and AoE in these battles and you’ll get your kills in no time.

The problem is you need to notice that you are still aggroed.

That’s the problem for me. Several times I have thought I was out of combat and hopped to another BG only to spawn there dead.

Maybe a popup “You are in combat, are you sure you want to do that?” or something?

It only drops it at your feet if you click the skill. If you use the skill’s hotkey, it’ll drop the AoE wherever your mouse is pointing at the time.

Just had another guild-group of 6 bg players glitch into Dawns on SoR bl. It would be nice if arenanet took care of these apparently well-known glitches. All it does is make servers angry at each other.

All it does is add insult to injury when the server with more population and time zone coverage have people doinn these things, i guess the end justifies the means, eh?

I have no problem being beaten in a straightup fight – It makes me change tactics and try harder the next time I go up against that group. But when I see stuff like this it makes me not want to try at all.

Please ANet… fix these exploits!

Imagine enabling Obsidian Flesh and then bum rushing in with Ride the Lightning.

But there’s nothing stopping that now, it’s just a pain.

Out of combat weapon swap, or the trait swapping the devs mentioned way back would be awesome for every class, not just elementalists.

Having been in TCBL the past 4-5 hours and facing ND zergs much larger than 20… I think you may be right

ANet really needs to address this. We’ve seen a lot of this in our TC/FA/CD matchup and it’s getting worse almost by the day it seems.

Definitely add a cooldown to it. The event itself isn’t that bad, but it can be exploited to run over and over and over and can be used to grief the team holding the map.

A few days ago there was a list of several changes that were coming to WvW with the 12/14 patch.

1 – breakout event: it’s in and I actually kind of like it. It adds a new dimension to the game

2 – having to repair walls on structures you capture up to 10% before they autobuild. Don’t think this made it in yet? Haven’t seen it happen yet anyway, at least on towers. Was this delayed?

3 – more advance notice of patches: definitely not in. Last night we got the usually 30 seconds warning, during prime time… cost our guild several golems we were in the process of deploying

Weren’t all three of these changes supposed to go in together?

There was a time several weeks ago (against SoR if I remember right) when we had a queue on a map and when I finally got in, we were bouncing in and out of the outmanned buff. So I am curious about this as well

I’ve done these sparks at times, but my luck is never that good at getting them to drop lodestones (only got 2 out of about 7-8 hours total farming them – multiple sessions). They are a quick spawn and easy to kill though, so you can go through a lot of them in a short time.

One thing that makes a difference is what server you are on. If you are on a server that is very competitive at WvW, you have a stonger chance to get with a zerg and make lots of xp that way. If you do that, the xp will flow in and you will level very quickly.

If on the other hand, you are on a server that is constantly at the bottom of their tier’s matchup, you will be facing a lot more uphill fights and it will probably be tougher.

As a lower level, your safest spot is in a zerg, where you have lots of friendlies around you, or manning siege on a wall that is being attacked (an arrow cart can be a low level player’s dream against an attacking zerg). Even a camp capping team will generate a lot of xp for you.

Don’t pick a class because you think it’s good at WvW. Pick a class you think looks fun and that you want to play. Play that class, study the skills/traits, study how those skills and traits work together. Learn the class inside and out. Then, no matter what class you have chosen, you will be the most effective you can be.

And above all… have fun!

Total sPvP noob here…

Is there a quick-start guide for sPVP? I’ve been into the Heart of the Mists a few times checking out the training dummies, but how do I actually get into an sPvP match? Is there another gate to go through or an NPC I need to talk to? Or do I have to have a team?

Got a screenshot? I’m in WvW almost every day and never noticed them.

They aren’t the particle effect for a shielding ability are they? Sometimes I’ve seen them get glitched and hang around after the effect has worn off.

I finally am getting the hang of D/D, mainly in this past couple of weeks. It really “clicked” for me now and I really see the power of this build. I play a lot of WvW and I’m finding myself running into battles that I used to run from now. And I’m having success!

Dont use DD in PVE

I use it almost exclusively in PvE. Currently I’m doing map completion in Orr zones and it works great. Very survivable and great DPS, even with multiple mobs on me.

Dungeons I still use Staff, but mainly that’s out of habit. Once I feel a lot more comfortable with the D/D I’ll probably use it a lot in there too.

Never had much problems finding a group, gw2lfg.com helps. Also if you sit there saying lfg fotm lvl 3 all day i can see why you never find a group. sometimes you just have to make a group for something you wanna do.

I’d love to make a group… in fact, I make groups all the time for dungeon runs, etc. But how can I do that if nobody else is doing or wants to do fractal level 3 (including guildmates who have moved on to higher levels and are trying to do dailies for rings)?

This is really getting frustrating.

I spent 4 days looking for a group to do fractal level 3. Finally found a group yesterday afternoon in an overflow and I disconnected halfway through the first fractal.

And of course, there’s no way to get back in to the group… so not only am I screwed, but the group is now short a player as well, which handicaps them. Of course, now I get to start the long process of looking for another group…

Please, ANet! Fix the issue where disconnected players can’t get back in to the fractals their group is in, or give us a dungeon group finder!

When you say it doesn’t work, it does nothing when you click the skill? Or it goes off but doesn’t heal?

I’ve noticed the past few days it doesn’t seem to pop up regen messages so I don’t know if it’s hitting people or not, but the animation and particle effect go off.

I personally feel it’s somewhat of a high expection to think that players want to kill every single mob in an instance.

Have all the mobs have a 30-40% chance to drop a token from that dungeon. So instead of getting 60 Tears from AC path 1, I might end up with 90-100. Then every mob in the place is up for killing (at least by me)

A lot of people used to skip Kholer. Now he drops better loot (and tears) and most groups that I’ve been in kill him. He’s still a pain, but you get a little something out of it.
