Playing a various Stormspire alt – if it’s Stormspire, it’s probably me
Guilds: Elder Prophets [EP], Principality of New Katulus (PiNK)
The fire elemental used to be nearly impossible… now it’s too easy.
And yea, the event before the elemental is way too long.
You’re on TC OP. It’s a very overpopulated server.
I am aware of that.
The problem is every single event is in overflow now during the time of day I play. I went to Queensdale as soon as I got off work tonight, a full 45 minutes before the spawn window even is up for Behemoth… Bam, Overflow!
Last night I sat in Queensdale overflow for over 3 hours! At some point shouldn’t the event have spawned there? Or someone in Queensdale on my server left so a spot opened?
Queues for WvW aren’t this long. This is stupid!
What’s strange is, I never get out of overflow. Earlier when Behemoth was up, I was in OF, so I hung around and even when Behemoth was over, I never got the chance to leave overflow.
Not so sure about the guesting issue… I’m in Overflow waiting on Shadow Behemoth and there are people there from at least 10 different servers.
It’s almost like the map limit has been lowered to help fight the lag? The one event I managed to get to (Tequatl) in a non-overflow wasn’t nearly as laggy as it has been all week.
Every world boss (dragon, behemoth, etc.) I’ve tried over the past 2 hours, I’ve ended up in overflow.
What is going on? No matter what zone it is, and no matter how early I get there, I end up in overflow!
The bags are a pretty bad design for PvP. With the way people move around in combat you often have to leave the bags behind. If you stop to loot you may be letting down a team member. I don’t really like to let people down in combat.
You have to choose: Your friend or your lewt…
“Sorry Bob… I would save you but there’s a chest over there!!”
Added – Risen Giants have a new “Kick” ability. If not dodged (cannot be blocked), targets will be kicked 4000 yds and suffer the equivalent in fall damage when landing. Anyone who complains about it will get stepped on.
So they are like giants in Skyrim now? LOL
Ah, OK. I’m only 65, haven’t gotten 30 points into anything yet.
Yes, I do, but as I mentioned, the fire rate is so slow that I’m still not hitting stuff before it dies.
Been leveling a warrior the past few days, and in that time been doing lots of world events (Maw, Fire Elemental, Behemoth, etc.) where there are large groups of players.
One thing I’ve noticed is that it’s very hard to tag enough mobs to get “gold” credit for the event.
With melee weapons, you have to run or leap to the mob and by the time you get there, the mob is dead. Bow or rifle can work, but the fire rate is pretty slow. A lot of times by the time I target something and fire, it’s dead before the projectile gets there.
How do warriors tag enough mobs to insure that they get credit for these type of events?
I’d be good with that – make badges like laurels and give them to you automatically.
It can’t be the size of the chest that makes the difference – the Fire Elemental chest is very tiny (some people can’t even see it) and it got buffed.
I haven’t tried the Hrathi one, but Shadow Behemoth, Fire Elemental, Maw and the 3 dragons look like the ones that got buffed so far (outside of Orr)
Best thing I can suggest is to look at the wiki and see what normally drops them (for instance, krait drop scales, etc.) then just dig in and farm.
There are places in Frostgorge where you can farm Svanir and Trolls pretty steadily to get what they drop. Other zones have things you can farm as well.
It’s not going to be fun… but it’ll get the job done. And you’ll make money as you do it with all the other loot you get.
Mr. Sparkles!
Of course, not every race would have met him… but they will soon feel his iron fist crushing them!
If so, he apparently didn’t get the memo about dropping better loot. Killed him twice in the last 2 days only only got blues both times
Yeah, I’ve had that happen to, but often times you hold of releasing hoping your group will win and revive you (especially if you are far from waypoint in the enemy’s borderland).
Each piece will only be 500000 current badges or 1000 of the new badges.
New badges?
Saw somewhere (maybe here, not sure) that there are appearance armors coming that can be bought with badges. We already need 500 badges for legendary, plus hundreds of badges for any level 80 gear you want to buy.
Now this week, with the changes to loot code, bags seem to be dropping more frequently in big group vs. group battles. Which means when my necro dies, there are more and more bags spawning around his corpse from people dying to conditions after my death.
It’s been requested time and again to just have the bags go straight to inventory (or at least the badges), but it’s always been ignored that I’ve seen.
Has any thought been given to letting us loot those bags while we are dead?
After playing all day prior to the patch with no problems whatsoever. Now since the patch, I am disconnecting every 30-45 seconds. I can’t do anything.
I have just over 5000 kills in WvW so far and I have gotten ~350 badges total in all that time.
Sadly, the best way to get badges of “Honor” is by doing jumping puzzles
Yeah, it happens – seemingly more frequent lately. Last week there was one night when 2 borderlands crashed at the same time. That made for some long queues on the other 2
I have two legitimate crashes since release of this game. One on my nearly 5 year old system and one my new build. Sounds like you have some issues with your computer to be honest. This is actually one of the more stable games I have played in regards to crashes.
I don’t think the problem is his game crashing so much as the WvW zone itself crashing.
On TC we’ve had numerous times when then entire Borderland crashed. One day earlier this week, 2 borderlands were down at once, resulting in gigantic queues for the other 2.
This has gotten worse the past couple of weeks.
Big crash apparently… BGBL and TCBL both are unavailable KABL has long queue
Sigh…
People are still not getting it or they are illiterate.
The problem isn’t even the fact that each side may have only 20-30 ppl, it is the fact that it is imbalanced.
Last night we did our guild push, we all queue for a BL because they all had a queue. We are all in mumble ansd queue up. Some get in within 20 mins, some ppl that queued before me were waitin 1.5 hours to get in and I got in after about .5 hours.
How do they queue before me and have to wait 3 times as long????
We got about 1/3 of our guild in and there was another small group it equaled total about 30 of us. We had a stand off in hills, we counted about 50-60 from one guild on the other side plus some pugs so a total of about 70+. THIS IS THE PROBLEM! We were outmanned because thier queue system is broken. I am sure this has happened the other way around as well. How can we be ranked properly if one server has more than the other and we have a queue. I could see if we were simply outmanned, but we had a queue and the other team had more on the map than us.
Fix this nao anet.
The same problem last week as well. We had queues every night for all 4 maps and when you finally get in, SoR outnumbers us almost 2-1 everywhere we went. It’s like our server had the lower limit but SoR didn’t. Now this week, it seems like everybody has it.
I still think its weird that t1 bought into that and said BG are nothing but forum warriors. Throughout all our matchups you guys are easily the most humble yet powerful server. If I had to leave TC and wanted to stay near the top, I would choose BG in a heartbeat.
But you aren’t leaving right? RIGHT? Who would keep my low level alts alive in WvW if not you?!?
But back to the topic… yes, BG is much more honorable and respectful than SoR ever was. I (almost) don’t mind coming in behind them in total score. Almost… This has been a fun week all around, despite queue problems and my own personal connection problems. Still a few days left… gotta bring da pain!
Blackgate, prepare yourselves! Our trump card has arrived on the battlefield :P
That was to be a secret! Now you’ve doomed us all!
I think the only thing that will keep us from being there will be the queue. So many FA players want to bathe in Dolyak blood that it’s possible we’ll just be listening to it in Teamspeak.
That’s awesome! I’m sure you’ll be very happy!
Given all the guilds transferring all over last week, I’m surprised at how competitive most of the tiers are.
However, after the reset, looking at next week’s projected matchups (I realize they may not be accurate) – I see a lot more blowouts next week than this week.
Oh no, it is the “portal bomb”, AKA “culling bomb” …
Speaking of which… my level 46 mesmer did her first portal bomb yesterday. Despite dropping the exit portal a few feet short of your catapults, it succeeded in stopping FA from catapulting Lake wall… Mummy would be so proud
Good fights so far this week (when I can get in… kitten queues!)
People aren’t reading… or aren’t comprehending what they read.
On TC we have queues at times we’ve never had queues before. And the queues themselves are buggy. I queue’d up for a borderland yesterday and after 30 minutes of watching guild mates log in and immediately enter the map, I re-queued and got in immediately.
So why was in in queue for 30 minutes if the map wasn’t full? or if the map was no longer full, why was I still in queue?
Also, there were several nights last week where we had queues on all 4 maps, but when you finally get in, there are at most 50 people on the map (and we were looking for AFK’ers and people in the jumping puzzle, etc.)
ANet needs to realize there is something horribly wrong with their queue system and it seems to have started with the patch on the 28th.
Things have definitely changed. I can see the enemy now, but a new problem has surfaced. When I get into the middle of a large scale battle, I get disconnected. Last night we were doing a breakout event and when we got into the tower, the defenders were waiting… lag – lag – lag – disconnect. Reconnnect dead at spawn.
Re-entered map and the battle was still going on. Ran in through the broken wall… same thing.
Three times this happened.
So I started watching. In PvE everything is fine. In WvW everything is fine unless there are more than about 30 people in a battle, then my lag goes crazy and I disconnect.
This started after the culling changes this week.
Just to be sure I ran a quick database query for the last few days and all the queue numbers look quite reasonable.
So I don’t know where in the map those players are when you’re looking for them, but they’re definitely in there somewhere!
Sure, the queue numbers may look reasonable, but what about the number of people actually on the map? Is that reasonable?
I’ve posted a couple times this week in other threads about this same subject. Tarnished Coast has had queues for every map during prime time this week, but when you get in, there’s nowhere near a full complement of players in there.
Good to see it’s other servers as well. Would be nice if someone from ANet would look into this.
It’s probably sharing the queue for all servers.
Surely not… but it would be nice if they would just tell us
I’ve been wondering this as well – even had another thread on it yesterday. Queues on all 4 maps night before last, but we are horribly outnumbered wherever I went. Doesn’t make sense to me
I’ve heard guildmates mention this too – they seem to think there’s a problem if you change maps or waypoint while in the queue, it seems to reset your place in the queue or something
I have done 3 characters from 10-80 mostly in WvW (some crafting, a little PvE here and there, but mostly in WvW). Just accept the fact that you will die a lot and it isn’t that bad. If you get in with a zerg or a camp/tower capping group, you can fly through levels pretty quickly.
I thought some already did… like the scepter 2 and 5 skills? Staff marks don’t unless they are triggered, but I could swear I’ve seen numbers from scepter 2/5 attacks before?
http://www.reddit.com/r/Guildwars2/comments/17gd2r/if_you_have_a_tendency_to_hoard_your_mail_check/
Apparently old heart quests you have completed have experience in the emails? I just checked on 2 of my characters and there is no experience on any of the mails… but people in that Reddit thread are saying they got some. Anyone seen this?
I like the borderlands as they are now, but they need to be bigger in my opinion. You can run from one corner of the map to the other relatively quickly. I’d like to see more land to defend, with maybe some more supply camps scattered about.
Same for EB – make it bigger. Some of the towers/keeps are way too close together.
I like the concept of each server having an identical borderland to defend. That takes away any arguments of “your server is winning only because you have XX borderland this week!”. But some variety would be nice. Maybe 3 sets of borderlands that rotate weekly, or randomly… so each server has the same BL, but each week’s match is different.
You can’t predict when someone will leave a WvWvW map period
Agreed, but at least show me I currently #25 in the queue, and count it down periodically, so I can kind of guess when it might pop up and I’m not afk and miss the popup box
i have heard stories of people having Ques times. then when they get in they have the outman buff. so there might be a bug in the system.
This happened to me back in October. It’s another thing that makes me wonder about the limits
The answer lies in peanut butter and it’s willingness to transmogrify it’s steel beams into dandelions.
Nerf peanut butter obviously!
The culling fix seemed to help from what I could see. The good thing was that I could see large groups from a distance instead of only seeing them after I had run into the middle of them.
However, once in the group, things seemed a lot laggier than before – not sure what that was about.
The thing people don’t understand is that, yes, we shoot fireworks and have fun on TC… but we do it while we’re taking objectives.
Last night we were taking Garrison on SBI BL (albeit briefly) and there were fireworks going off the entire time
Last night on TC we had a queue for all 4 maps at the same time for a while. However, we were outnumbered by SoR in almost every encounter I was involved in for the time I played.
It got me wondering about the map limits again and I don’t know that we’ve ever seen an answer from ANet (at least I haven’t).
I’ve seen the number 500 total players per map floating around here and there. So the question is, is this map limit 166 players per server? Or 500 total players and whatever server gets in first has the advantage?
Does anyone know for sure?
I downloaded over 5700 files
The trait that casts fear on knockdown/stuns, does that work in WvW? Because I see it go off all the time in PVE, but I don’t think I’ve ever seen it go off in WvW and I get stunned all the time in there.
It’s so you won’t have to loot crap from every corpse just to see what it is – and if you die with 3 bags around you, you won’t cry now… but if you die with 3 chests around your corpse… commence crying
This starts in February I believe, for the monthly
