“Let’s eat Tahini!”
I named my character Omar Aschi Popp Ill. because I wan’ted him to be the direct descendant of me from GW1.
Then once I say my name in chat, I saw just how obvious it was my name was ill as in sick. Now I’m sick, with rage. Why can’t I have multiple caps?
Also, kitten that guy who took the name Graven.
To answer a little of everything, first off I didn’t look into which one I want, more thinking on whether I could or not. T6 mats, for some reason without even noticing, I already have a stack of ancient bone, and 190 ancient wood…
Anyway I won’t be thinking of going down this road until like you guys said I get a precursor drop. That will be my sign to start building. Thanks everyone for input.
So I just started looking at the stuff involved in getting these things…
As someone who never has or will buy absolutely anything from Trading Post, my options for getting such things is either to craft, or Mystic Forge roulette.
So, which road would make more sense for me, a casual player? Again, as far as materials go I play this game exclusively on drops/chests/etc.
Thanks for your time.
Been playing for about 2 years, casually mind you, only had 2 exotics drop for me, both from Ulgoth, that’s why to this day I’d rather do him than Tequatl & Jormag…
Anyway, I literally just discovered the Mystic Forge two weeks ago, and started pumping in all my world-boss rares from bonus chest.
7 exotics, since I started kittening around with forge, 13 days ago.
I like it.
Mind you I started pumping these exotics in forge for something cooler and get lower level exotics, and lost them all in about 2 min. So on that note, is it stupid to forge exotics? What can I get that’s better? I don’t know kitten about legendary or precursors or postcursors.
Here is me. Chest armor was showing the original last week, it’s Koss’ Chestguard, and had aether pauldron, but just changed it all to Heritage for unity’s sake, except headhear. So I mixed just a tad. Not sure what look I like more.
This is the only time I ever showed my headhear.
I think mainly he’s venting.
But seriously, this is my favourite part; “The fact that you have to post on a forum thread to inquire about the status of your ticket is a good indicator of a poorly developed system.”
(edited by Moderator)
Pretty much.
Also I kittening hate Lions Arch, the way it looks, the geography and the unwashed vermin who infest it.
1327 AE
Not being Human master race character
Not openly contemptuous of players who have Charr characters
Caring about lesser races and clipping.
Humans don’t have clipping problems.
I get a wait 300 sec message.
I made lunch, polished my boots, french pressed me some Starbucks Casi Cielo roast coffee.
Yeah, still can’t post.
Playing TP? Is that a thing? Are you people economists? Is it like a mini-game, where the endgame is GOLD!? Just wondering.
I kill stuff when I walk around, I do world bosses, merch everything, sell rares and funny mats on TP.
Make 1 gold every 15 min this way.
Altho, there was this one time where I was playing for like 4 hours and not even paying attention to kitten, somehow I went from 15 gold to 106 gold… I think I did some dungeons, sold a bunch or rares, but still they’re like 29-55 silver a piece on selltolowest.
But who cares! I bought t3 Human armor.
Now I have no gold
herewegoagain!
…So, I just saw screenshots of what they look like, pfffttt lol.
Just kittening wow.
No thanks.
I’ll stick to my peasant-tier masculine and respectable gear.
Inb4 Wardrobe
I don’t even care. The fact that I know what it originally looked like.
Inb4 OCD
kittening sticky this!
You know what the scary part is? Considering that Evon Gnashblade owns the BLTC and earns possibly thousands of gold a day from his fees, PLUS the possibility that he might be a secret spy for the Ash Legion operating in Lion’s Arch… Nicholas might actually be on to something.
It’s what you get for trusting a Charr.
Only Charr I ever trusted was this guy called Pyre.
Every month, all tags are refunded by the game and 100 gold goes into the person’s bank. If you want to get your tag back you have to go to one NPC located in Orr and speak to him. After a while, only the people most determined to have a tag will keep getting it, others will give up or forget.
Nah, put the commander tag vendor in Fort Vandal and make players have to take down all the level 80 champs while at the Vandal’s Claim level scaling. If they really want that tag for PvE, they’ll figure it out.
For WvW though, use your idea, but make it only useable in WvW.
individual skill and equipment do not = good rallying and organizational skills
It cracks me the kitten up you people seem to be under this delusion.
I’ve seen new players show more effort, enthusiasm, support, and ORGANIZATION than some Commanders.
Yes. You can solo 20 gagillion champs, good for you.
But do you know how to effectively manage and lead players, most of whom don’t want to be reined in?
This is true to real life as well.
(edited by Omar Aschi Popp.7496)
I can’t stand Vanity tags either. 9 times out of 10 it’s someone just running around solo not even calling events out in map chat. Commander tags need to be harder to get and not bought with 100g.
It’s almost like you’re implying only people with money and work beyond Legendary are capable of command and organization.
YES!! Because as much as I like the trinkets, they really do just waste space. I don’t even use 95%of the stuff I have but can’t bear parting with it.
I still have all my starter armor and townclothes in bank kitten you not.
They’re tedious to manage and give an advantage to people who are willing to put up with that. They should be removed, or be something you unlock and can access from your inventory freely once you’ve discovered it.
So because you’re to lazy to use them, everyone else should be punished.
’Gotcha.
Yes, because you shouldn’t reward tedium with power. Do you not agree? If you don’t, where do you draw the line? Like, would it be cool if waypointing to all the cities gave you +1000 power for the day?
Terrible hypothetical analogy.
Let me ask you some real questions:
Do you ever open your inventory and use salvage kits?
Do you ever open your inventory and ‘deposit collectibles’?
Do you ever open your inventory and swap weapons or armour or trinkets?
Do you ever open your inventory and use items like transformation tonics/kite/balloon or mini pets?
If you answered yes to any of those questions (which you did), then your argument is illogical and flawed.
You can use food, you choose not to, not because its ‘tedious’ but because you’re lazy or simply don’t want to.
Being “cheap” isn’t even an option, because some food costs 5c each.
Are you telling me you don’t walk to the bank to deposit collectibles?
I use the hero panel for all outfitting.
Weird that way.
I was just there a few hours ago and thought the same thing! I got new armor from Tequatl so had to go and add my Heritage to it and then was all “Ohhhyyeeaahhh nopelol”
My first thought, poor Kimes the Historian, Anet didn’t think of him when they made him redundant. He deserves better.
I agree with crafting, but not merchants. To me this place was like a secret hideout privy only to the ancestors of old Ascalon, and it’s just weird having people hanging out there.
-Give Kimes something to do
-add Houseclothes, yeah I went there.
Not tonics either.
Actually, the strategy of stacking goes hand to hand with LoS most of the time. Pulling mobs with Line of Sight is as old as video games.
Stacking:
Break physics having more than one body occupy the same space (?)
Crash all characters together, make a pile, don’t dodge, don’t move, smash 1, 2 ,3 ,4, 5 when appropriate things will be over before you blink.
You stack to have more control of the fight, you know all boss attacks (most of the time) will land on the players position. You stack because buffs have very short range, so does combos. In GW2 you stack at melee because melee is ridiculously OP compared to range (which is fine up to some extent).
From my experience, sometimes stacking is a valid strategy if it is used to counter a boss attack but it gets wrong when its used for every single boss including trash mobs… One would expect that in 2014, new genre MMOs would have this addressed and covered but no, we are still doing LOS and stacking behind corners to kill Bosses. Turning a great game into something really lame.
If Lilith upload her art, I’ll do it too!
This is exactly what stacking is.
The picture I mean.
Stacking = Standing still.
Therefore, not-stacking = Must be moving 97.4% of the time. Only exception is when downed and/or defeated. When reviving you must cancel revive every 2 seconds in order to keep moving.
That’s a really interesting definition… so… this is stacking?
I laughed at this, more than I should have.))))
Honestly I think player’s aversion to stacking only arises when someone demands that they stand in some weird nook in the wall. They wouldn’t care if a stack formed naturally, they just hate being micromanaged.
This. Unless you have a pre-organized plan that involves it before you enter dungeon, I find it obnoxious.
Qho cares!? kitten that kitten Jennah, the only people fit to rule Humanity are Ascalonians.
Krytans were ALWAYS the frowned upon race of humans on Tyria. Orrians are cool tho.
But seriously, Ascalon4lyfe.
PS. LA is filthy pirate scum. They run Gemstore through BLTC, they are the kittens responsible for tonicizing townclothes.
I find the biggest gate is the laurels, always waiting on them.
And of course the stupiest gate of all- charged quartz crystal..crafting one a day..really Anet it sucks.
On the contrary I have too many. I don’t even do my dailies most days. but I had ~60 day before last, and then I spent 20 on an ascended amulet.
Am I the only one who gets them from mining the node at home, like charged ones.
Wow. Sir you have achieved an accomplishment that every woman wishes in a man.
I’m too tall
Also wtf Anet & Co?!!! Get rid of threads talking about how kittenty you are for tonic townclothes, but THIS stays up?
On Maw, the biggest things are:
1. do not rez anyone! takes away from your personal deps
2. do not close portals, immediately go to the boss and start pounding on him.
those two things sadly should get you a champ box in addition to the main chest and little shaky chest in the corner.Haven’t done Modnir Ulgoth, due to others complaints. Orr is a problem with the defense/offense issues. I don’t join random parties often, altho I hear it’s better for the loot. My toons are mainly Zerkers.
My ref to #1 is probably one of the saddest thing about the megaserver World Boss issues ( which Anet has ignored and not responded). Everyone vying for the teeniest little loot has made players into piranha – but there’s only so much to go around. People rarely revive others, although I tell myself not to do so it’s been ingrained in me. <g>
Do far it’s a crapshoot, unless you follow steps #1 and 2.
Thanks Anet!
That’s messed up man…
But I am going to start following this.
Rezing was sort of something I always thought was a priority, because you know, teamwork. Guess I was just a chump.
But my gear comes from drops, and it’s kind of silly, that my work means nothing because out of a crowd of people with all legendary/ascended gear, I’m there fighting with Koss’ Chestguard, and Human cultural armor(t2).
This makes me feel like I’m just wasting my time and efforts even fighting.
I don’t understand how gear enters into any of this, inform me please. I just put on armor I like. What’s all this stacking? I like stacks of cash. But really, other than me randomly googling kitten online can someone lead me to a comprehensive readable list of all this stuff?
As weird as it sounds, I was kind of mad at the update to remove cost for armor repairs.
Ironically it’s where most of my money went because I kind of suck at the game, but I felt accomplished when I did succeed, and there was more at stake to loosing. Now when I get downed in combat I’m all “eh whatever”, when before I would frantically struggle and use vengeance always.
Not sure if on the same page but my opinion on death.
Rolled Human because master race.
All Glory be to Adelbern and Doric!
Also because I am human, hell I even look like myself, hell even my name is my name… Man, escapism at it’s best.
YES oh God this, yes, hell it could add a kitten-ton of content. You can have new achievements like Sommelier!
But that explains all the chat; “key?” “key!”
Keee!
Reminds me of the seagulls from Nemo.
“Mine?”
Keys drop in-game? Since when?
…Is there a list of these Role-Play servers/worlds? Oh wait! I can’t switch without paying MONIES and GEMS. Wtf Anetflixkittenface.
I’m I am mistake someone tell me. I would like to move to such a land.
I went yesterday, or sometime close to yesterday, to my first ever Evolved Jungle Wurm Experience Extravaganza just in time for pre, and successfully did it. When it came time to wait for boss’ I asked when should I do, and what I got from about 15 people is variations of this; “shoot it until it dies”
Woooo. I hate looking at the wiki cause it feels like cheating, this is why I rely sometimes on people I am immediately playing with, you know camaraderie and kitten.
Baboons.
I support this thread.
Warrior master race here, but seriously, Elementalists could be chubb over, you know, no physical exertion. Maybe Engineers…
What can I say.
Why would I want a dessicated wasteland? Thanks, Adelbern. The Searing may not have the nicest or most logical thing to do, but the Foefire smacks of a total “Scorched Earth” policy.
Traitor scum.
I bet your grandaddy ran and hid like a Sylvari swampweed-smoking hippie!
For Aderlbern! (Because kitten Rurick)
I would drink the blood of a thousand young.
Because, Human superiority.
For Adelbern!
Gimme me my kittening cat-kittening-kitty-lepoard-cat kitten JAGUAR GEMS back.
Wardrobe is kitten. Tonics are kitten.
You think the Riding outfit looks good? NO! That’s probably why I only bought the Boots and trousers, I bought a sweet Country Lace shirt to go with.
I don’t kittening wear hats.
I don’t kittening want goggles.
And I don’t want to be FORCED to choose between looking like a kitten wearing the Townclothes tonic, or looking like a kitten wearing the Riding Costume.
There is a REASON I buy all my clothes SEPARATELY, and never touch the jokes you call costumes.
I want my gems back.
Also huge snippet, since I thin we’re the only ones reading these
Sorry I made assumptions about you.
Never witnessed a blip of abuse, ever while playing this game one me or others, again maybe it’s cause I’m on Dzagonur. That’s why I’m like “wtf, what abuse”.
Anyway, potaato potato potaato…
I maxed out Chef as my first completed profession. I don’t give a flying cat about the stats of food. I thought it was fun discovering recepies(without looking them up), and making food for guildmates and nice people I could feed.
That accounted for 70% of my gameplay. It was geared to sustain my cooking. That’s the only reason I traveled as much. To get ingredients.
kitten was fun.
I caved and got it from Festival Rewards. I find storyline soooooo dulllllllllllllllll.
Hahaha glad I’m not the only one who plays the game by not playing. I love rolling through Sylvari-controlled lands pretending I’m a fascist industrialist dream-wrecker, while calling everyone a kitten.
So kinda like Red Foreman.
…I keep a steady constant 13-17/45 inventory. I don’t even use all my slots or at max containers.
The only reason my Alts exists is to keep treasures/toys/obsolete, or stuff I can’t use as a warrior. They are an extra bank tab!
Keep organized, and have fawn.
All wallpaper material.
Holy kitten I’m long-winded. I promise to never do that again.
There is no pleasing you, is there? Just because you’re too scared/turned off from enjoying the more demanding areas of the game (such as fractals, dungeons, probably guild missions, world bosses, etc) doesn’t mean the game should be HELD BACK. Guild Wars 2 is far from perfect, but you have not mentioned any negative consequences with the removal of the Queensdale train besides “I can’t summon the boar
whaa whaa.”
I like how you assumed I have ever pressed the “1” key to use my first skill. Ever. I actually click different skills and kitten when fighting, well anything.
And I like how you ignore the part that specifically states how the nicect people to me in Guildwars2, save my guildmates from GW1 were; Train-Running Motherkitteners. The nicest people, who helped me way more that asking the “pro” gamers like yourself in High-End areas.
The people who do QD/Train were the perfect people to introduce me into this game. Sorry that wasn’t the same more others. Maybe it’s because I played on the German server, who knows. Even then, it never kittened them off that I barely know the language. They still helped.
As for nerdrage, the stereotype of the 18-24 year old social kitten who clocks 16 hours of gameplay a day and eat cheetos and kitten? Kitten off kitty-cat. ACTUALLY! I like those guys, they are rather nice and cool once you talk to them, I’m talking about the person who get soooooo mad when other players aren’t as vested into the game/“lifestyle” as they are. Sorry I’m not META enough for you. Were you one of those players that would lose their marbles and froth at the mouth when someone running a build not c&v from pvxwiki joined your goup in gw1(OMGGG YU NO YMLaD!111!111fhghdgdddd).This is a game, not a career.
Ok explain how I’m personally holding back the game by participating in trains? Also I actually have done dungeons and guild mission, the latter being more fun. But fractals is full of jerks. World bosses ARE zergs. Boss Blitz was a giant kittenshow since it’s un-coordinated, and all commanders on scene are farming random groups instead of leading organized groups. The only reason I even got bronze half the time is pure attrition, eventually it happened. And boss Blitz happened largely due to Gold Farmers, I am not a gold farmer.
I’m not ironic. I don’t play “press-1-to-play” I feel like I do a lot to help during world bosses, and go out of my way to revive players instead of fight sometimes. So the ONLY thing you got on me is, yeah, I feel like items should be exclusive and I feel accomplished when I worked hard for something such as an achievement(Balloon toy) or got lucky with a drop(Koss’ Chest thingie, which by the way is the most advanced gear I’m packing) It’s exciting.
Buying Twilight from TP is not exciting.
Buying skins is not exciting. (my opinion)
Also let me end with I never said the changes were bad/whatever for the game, just that -I- did not like them, and MY style of gameplay. Difference between you(and Anet) and I is that you want to control my game-play because you don’t like it, and I could care a less about yours.
I was defending train-runners and participants against the idea that they “ruined” my experience when I started playing. You don’t like the train? Get off at the next station. Those people were good to me, and all I read I all about how elitists like you think they made me feel like kitten and I should hate them and not grow up to be like them.
Maybe the Train wasn’t the problem.
(edited by Omar Aschi Popp.7496)
I dont have anything against champion train i believe its important to have something like that , specially for kids or people that are not experienced overall in games.. however it shouldnt be very well rewarded.. as they are not doing much either..
However 10 hours a week is more than enough to get good.. theres no excuse , there are many guides explaining everything you need to know in youtube . The problem is people dont want to read , Most people dont bother to read anything at all.. and have above 1000hours of game and still dont know anything about boss mechanics, traits , or anything that has numbers or letters is hardcore or elitist nerd?…. but if you cant even kill a champion… after 10 hours a week of game.. maybe this game is too hard for you..
I just want to say I do like to read. Very much, but I don’t like being a wikiplayer. I like discovering on my own, and maybe I am just bad at this. But I felt more fulfilled when I found all sky crystals in the Labyrinthine Cliffs on my own and got the achievement, when I totally know I could have gone on dulfy and got it all in15 min.
Bit I see what you’re saying.
>>>The derogatory term “scrub” means several different things. One definition is someone (especially a game player) who is not good at something (especially a game). By this definition, we all start out as scrubs, and there is certainly no shame in that. I mean the term differently, though. A scrub is a player who is handicapped by self-imposed rules that the game knows nothing about. A scrub does not play to win.<<<<
And these folks aren’t the reason things keep getting nerfed. The reason things keep getting nerfed is because of the other end of the spectrum – the folks who play to win and use every exploit they can find to do so. All of the players who aren’t exploiting the game are scrubs by the definition given, everyone who plays “fair”. The book that quote comes from goes on to say “The scrubs will play for fun and not explore the extremities of the game. They won’t find the most effective tactics and abuse them mercilessly”. The good players “found the cheap stuff and abused it”. These are the players who are the reasoning behind nerfs, they found something cheap and abused it until Anet changed it then they cry their exploit is gone.
It stinks but that’s how it is.
Then I say, Sir, I am a kittening Scrub.
