Buying no option, getting realy no go. So it end after 1 year grinding on this.
After a small break of a month I started to play WvW again.
Now after the culling issue > what is in my opinion a real progress, i get 5 > 10 fps in the EB while having mass zerg against mass zerg.
Before this my fps was near 20-30 in same cases.

2x ATI 7950 2gb
8gb ddr3 RAM 12-12-12
OS Windows 7
Sinds this system I have get every game on Ultra settings with 40-60 + fps
Why is it in this game a problem?
Anet please look to this, because if this system already can’t handle it with mass fights (WvW) What does it with systems of other players that have less power. Ergo, the playability factor, WvW future?.
Culling kicks in again as before. Also some strange laggy things occur more often as before. for example hitting one and misses all the time while suddenly he disapear to pop up somewhere else (necromancer in my case). Or getting hit while out of combat you just left before. So no they say 2013 will improve! It is at this moment the other way around. Am playing only WvW atm. Think that i will try something else and look in a half year again what’s improved….
i know, but often I stealth at 50% health, to see only a regen boon for 3 sec’s but no healing (293) pulse is a bit strange. Also Refuge doesn’t trigger it in my case. Sometimes I don’t get nothing at all. Just looked my traits and that was the sam pre patched. So is this regarding a client bug then?
+1 Same issue sometimes occurs in WvW, anoying when you’re being chased and it takes a long time to get rid of that.
Nope, worked pre patched like intended. Now while in stealth I just got a 3 sec regen boon that’s it. Did not respecced what so ever.
My 1st character was a thief on 100% map completion. How i did it? Just have fun, use stealth where you need to pick up free skillpoints. and enjoy the scenery.
Regenerate health while in stealth.
Does not grant the boon regeneration. Instead, pulses a heal when you enter stealth and every second you remain in stealth.
Each pulse heals for 293 + 0.1 * Healing Power at 80.

Okey, then why is it that i don’t get heals from this trait while in stealth?
Sometimes it triggers a boon regeneration. As can see above it does not give a boon, it’s a pulse that gives healing…..
So why after the patch this is disapeared?

Like you are a mesmer, you must admit that you can be effective in different ways. Cat shatter/ heavy / etc. All depends who is behind the screen that controls the thief, some are not good in stealthbuilds but excels in powerbuild. At the end it is just to figure it out what suits you best.

First of all the vids your’e posted are realy nice to see. Sadly for me I have not the skill yet to perform that. (more experienced thief) Never the less, nice to see a skilled player like this.
Now my question, I watched you’re movie about the “Cat thingy”
Swiftness > lock on target > blink beside it > then it becomes very excited for me… The skill Phase retreat has to be used. And here things go wrong for me.
After the blink things for me goes wrong, when use Phase retreat i Blink back.
Not forward? I watched youre movie multiple times and realy looked the skills when to use. And tried it for 2 hrs with no succes. So where does it go wrong for me?
Is there a setting that needs to be changed? Please help me.
Also I don’t get the damage output i see on you’re movies. Even all gear is what you have. Crit hit Blurred Frenzy is max 2,9k and shatters do 2,6k so is it changed or nerfed or something? Because the burst attack I did downed nobody. Maybe it is just being Noob in Mesmer? And being Thief al the time make my vision on other proffs blurry?
Please if you can PM me so I can get some advice to learn the way of the Mesmer! I would be very thankfull.

Yes you mentioned UW with a mesmer, this is correct! He just ruins the game and give UW a realy bad name. Sadly a few more in that server use exploits to gain unfair advantage. I just hope that A-Net will give these players a perm ban as they know that what they are doing is damaging the WvW community.
Last week I too discovered a mesmer underground attacking with underwater attacks killing siege and everybody that was running around. This was on from UW. Also there was on that stayed underground at a camp to prevent that we could take this.
Hope A-Net will punish this kind of cheaters with a permanent ban.

Fun or not?
Well I have a lot of buddy’s that are quite happy with this build. On the other side, some havin to many problems with that because they are to long bound on there old playing build. When you are able to adjust, all builds and every profession is playable.
How to play?
By die trying. I trained it by walking in a zerk to there point where they where heading.
Or staying alive in a enemy zerk, with the intention to kill 5 targets.
What also is a very fun experience!
Question about some gear and there stats.
While I still use some jewels based on toughness and vitality, I am missing a real chunk of critical chance and crit damage.
Atm I use 1 berserker neck, 2 rings based on power/toughness from fract.
and some carrion earrings.
While having my weapons and gear on Knights stats, my crit rate is 34% with 37% crit damage with this. So i am doing something wrong i think, because you have double that crit damage stat. So where is this going wrong?
To replace some earrings etc will not realy give the crit chance boost to 72%
Please can you look where things can be better for me.

thanks for sharing this build, respecced this morning in gear and traits like the way you have it. I was a GS + Sword pistol zerker + valkyre. But after some hours training I must say i am impressed, survivability high. damage output less but still effective. All with all nice that you where willing to share this with us.

Downstate in PVE: Great idea no question about that. Extra chance always good.
Downstate in PvP/WvW: (personal) a burden but just accept the fact it is there.
So should there be a future in WvW for downstate?

I would suggest by downstate a Cooldown will be popup like a elite skill cd.
If killed before the timer runs out you’re defeated instant. After cd you get downstate again. Till a max of 3 times a life. This to end the endless reviving in zerg.
In my opinion, the zerg will also act more carefully. Ergo, better cooperation as a team.
Also the most utility’s in downstate of all classes are not realy effective.
1 attack, 1 or 2 interupt(s) and the heal.
I would suggest to remove skill 1 in WvW for 1 reason.
1: autoattack on (silly example) bunny, kill it and I feel strong again?
In WvW this is not funtional, so i would suggest to give a speed boost of HP regen.
Like the Guardian has on I believe skill 3.

Lootbag > grey items = no loot at all, just useless bagfillers
Solution: remove grey items for more money regarding the value of those crap.
Dolyaks drop empty bags = ?
Droprate (magic find buff, food) = no increasing drops of vallue.
Solution: Remove that buff and give something usefull in return.

When WvW was shutting down, loading screen to LA freezed. After relogging I see loading screen LA again followed by error
Seems all where in WvW that can’t relog anymore? WvW small rewards, defending and gaining bonuses for the people that plays pve. High repair/upgrading bills. And now!! relogging issues on top of that.. Getting better with the time
Please remove grey items as drops, they are just rubbish anyway and just an bagfiller. Give moneybags insted of this kind of crap. As in droprate WvW it can be better, a lot of costs are made by upgrading, repairing gear etc… Strange is that Fract or any other kind of dungeon are moneymakers and A-Net is giving sound to those kind of players. But those who just pvp/wvw are left behind.
Was a fan of tripwire too, but don’t use the skill anymore cause yes it’s broken already for so long. Also with the poison trap I experierence the same. So imo the only trap that does the job correctly is the calltrops or shadowtrap these days. Basilisk Venom ^^ Apply it use it and nothing happens test 4 out of 5 times. Looks like something wrong with that 30 seconds because it worked 1 time right when just applyed.
Stealth that triggers cd, but not grant it, Daggerstorm and his failed stability (sometimes)
Many traits are broken or not working correctly, what makes this the class with the less abilities for optimal use. I hope that A-Net will look on this matter soon.

Running Stealth build myself, it realy depends the gear he has in the end. What I can make of your story is that he just was playing with you guys. He did not downed/killed anything. So prob he had some gear in HP etc. Base healing in stealth ( blinding powder ) last 3 seconds ( stealthspec 4sec ) Heals up around 1600 in my case. Shadow refuge will hit me back in health around 3k. (My hp is 17k) So realy or he went out of combat to ress him back and popped up, or the damage to him was not so high that it seems. Eather way very unlikely imo.

Stealth is an broken skill, often a lot of stealth utilities don’t activate at all.
OP come on guys.. You got ever hit by skill 1 by a metal cannon warrior? 8k krit by skill 1? or the perma stun of Guardians etc… No complains here it seems.
Because most thief stunbreakers are broken anyway.
Culling stealth and thieves that make use of that are indeed a bad thing.
But I work in a small group of 5 – 6 players. When my stealth is over they target me right away. ( staying only in a zerg does’nt gives a honest conclusion)
I would say to all please test it in all situations before pointing your finger. (because atm 4 are pointing back)
Thief has high burst damage and stealth his survivability. Always remember that thieves have no Healthpool of 20k (more 12-15k) Armor is a joke so also here not much protection.
Changing this will makes this profession useless and ready for delete.
Beside of this all, people please try a thief and learn his pro’s and cons.
To beat a thief you realy need not much, just be aware…
p.s auto target just keep hitting a thief in stealth is this also justified?
Know your oponent skills, so you can exploit there weakness.

Now we see that a server running with zergs all the time (what as conclusion) FPS loss, culling etc as a result.
Like what we have in Spvp. But then in special designed maps for let say max 25 players?
I would like to see a sort of permanent kind of finisher in WvW where a player can choose out. Maybe some special finnisher when you achieve a WvW achievement tier.
Or some sort of finnisher regarding the profession you ar playing the game.
Now we only get nice finnishers for 30 minutes. When actualy it would be nice to have this as a permanent option.

I am playing at the moment several professions and i noticed that the stealth of the thief is bugged. 1 of the 2 times I and fellow thieves experience that the stealth is not triggered from “Blinding Powder, Shadow refuge and even Hide in Shadows” I am aware that there is an cooldown of 3 seconds on this. As the 0 counts also as a second cd.
And I was feeling free to test it in small groups and zerks.
Alone in field: I got it 1 time of 10 uses
Small groups: I got it 3 times of 10 uses.
Zerks: I got it 6 times of 10 uses.
So it seems this bug occurs when there are to many on the screen at once.
My friend in guild that also play’s thief also have this issue.
If needed some aditional info, please contact me. So i can check it out.
Also tryed to test it with mesmer. And even there i noticed that in zerg mass invicibility went on Cooldown but not triggered the effect. ( Zerg )
So A-Net if you have time, can you please look at this?
I am a Stealth thief and often i notice that some utility’s that have to stealth me don’t trigger the stealth mode. Here by i have to use my backup skill, what often result in a total cd of my utility skills or even worse no stealth when being hit by a small zerg.
I am aware that there is an 3 sec cd on re-stealthing so that is and was not the case.
Also while in stealth the burst shots or the GS Mesmer with skill 1 that is following me from left to right (like a big neon sign) Also the extra stealth damage i take when i am cloaked by exsample skill #3 “unload” of a other PP thief.
I hope to see that stealth is stealth and that heat seeking tracking bullets is something for Guildwars 2150.
Correction, a thief is able to get knockbacked. Often i am feeling like a pinball going from left to right to left again. So no, don’t think it’s a bug. Bug is more that as a thief you are getting pinballed all the time.
I am playing Thief from the beginning.
And some nerfs where indeed nessecary and with others I have ? marks.
I have playing with 2 styles now,
and both are reduced in effectiveness quite alot.
Beginning with the Powerbuild.
Indeed burst can be extreme high but it depends also on some factors.
By nerfing it more I get the feeling it becomes a medium Squire/warrior type.
With stealth as no main vallue (traits not in it)
So thief is just an oppurtunist attacker and if not dead in 3 secs he has to leave the battlefield again for regaining health. (1kittenp)
Now the stealth spec.
By changing the real strong benefit of the thief by changing it spvp rules in capping you loose the vallue of saving time for others to stop the attacks. Especialy when on our server Outmanned is almost always on. Why not like suggested before make the area a bit smaller so that the effectiveness of stealth is still there? By introducing the new (nerf) stealth build becomes useless for small groups because by stealth trait you have alot of power burst loss. Fights are build on endurance and take more time. nice in 1vs 1 or 2. But wvw is almost never like that…. At least not on our server.
Also I want to add some issue regarding traits that still are quite useless or broken.
Pls fix this things first before changing or reducing thief even more. (many thread’s are already of this) For now i am starting to focus on other classes because thief is starting to become a average class that is loosing all the aspects that made them special.
ps. for all those people that even ask for more nerfs, ask next time if A-Net can delete the whole skillbar and that thief doesn’t have the ability to walk if encounter a enemy player. Because it looks that it will come that far, if not deleting the class totaly.

Things that still are buggy sinds release of this topic.
Also experienced that bladestorm was getting cc’d. it was against a Necro that saw me comming and casted fear. (was 1vs1) > end of daggerstorm.
Also noticed that Shadowstep has stunbreaker, but when shadowstep away I still being immobilized / stunned only on another spot. So not very stunbreaking there.
Still have issues with shortbow skill #5 Sometimes it works for a full distance, other times running is faster.
And like mentioned before, while turning to stealth you still get full hits by ranged attacks. Yesterday experienced the full damage salvo of an hunter while i was already in 5 sec stealth. solution > dodge it (when endurance left) But would like to se that auto attacks will miss insted of hitting 2 sec after stealth with a nice hit of 11k
And indeed the scorpionwire is not working properly, hit > pull (no) they drop on spot
out of reach (while standing 5 feet behind them trying to prevent a kill.)
Tripwire, Spiketrap, dont activate but are gone when tripped.
Thief trap is useless for defending. (while on towerdef. trap before door is tripped, thief spawns near you on the wall)
This are just the things I acrossed while playing. Maybe things are explainable maybe not. Just want it to share

It would be rewarding if players that like to defense a tower etc also get some sort of reward. Often they invest a lot of time to upgrade it or building defense siege up the tower. This takes sometimes a long time without the tower being attacked > therefor no reward for defending. It would be motivating if people get some kind of reward for that.
What I experience now is that zerging get all the credit, those that left behind and strengthen the rear (also tactical effort) don’t get nothing. I would like to see some changes in this in the future.

I sometimes experience it too. Not realy often but still. I find 1 thing more importend to mention. You’re second issue Auto targeting while in stealth. Today i was shot by the John Woo shot ability of a thief while in stealth. Only way to evade it is to dodge in stealth. But this must indeed drop away as soon invisibilty kicks in because " Last refuge" is sometimes what the name says while everything is on cd.

I just put in 4 identical items in it for no replacement. (also nothing in my bag)
So for all that read it, be aware that it “can happen”
Today I tryed the mystic forge to try my luck. (throwing 4 casual items in it)
I wasn’t paying attention the first two try’s but then i noticed that i put 4 items in it and did not get anything in return. 1st I was thinking that I was becomming blind so yet again an attempt. Same thing happened? So all with all 12 items went woosh in no time.. Has this something to do with the Halloween thing

97% Overall map completion. All areas on world map are completed (received all chests of areas) I know that i need to finnish some Vista (4) and 5 (poi) in wvw map to complete it.
Now my problem.
If complete that in WvW is still need 6 Hearts, 5 Skill, 7 Vista’s, 17 Poi’s
I checked http://gw2cartographers.com/ and there it is complete the same what i have done already. (Looks like I miss an area > but Worldmap is complete)
Does anybody have any idea what i am missing??

But just noticed some realy bad culling (far worse then before) it was a garrison fight with all servers in it. (1 big happy zerg family) there was only one point! Actualy 2
1: screen was total empty only red circles and some fancy fireballs and arrows
2: Seems culling affect now also the abilities to cast. (had to press a dozen time to heal myself, what did not happened) at a certain point when my screen was empty, but lot of players seemed to be there. Even no skill worked. So people here have now also que time for casting while in a big battle. (this was not before)
And 3rd even in LA there is much going on, only way to acces bank is via your crafting station. Cause a lot of things are not loading there anymore. Hope you guys can take this issues also in the “fix to do list”

You are absolutely right about that.
We have all the week the lowest points, but like most servers
I realy think it is not due to a lack of tactics or skill of the players.
More the “Culling” issue that still isn’t solved.
Therefor a lot of players in primetime don’t even bother to login.
Beside of this, i realy experience the difference during night time.
Yesterday we where with 5 people on the map. 00:00 – 04.00 local time.
While zergs of 40-50+ on the other 2 servers had free play (borderland map).
During night everything what was conquered during the day is taken in an hour.
Zerg vs door and 0 player defenders.
Then fully upgraded and full of siege for the morningshift.
I am not complaining, because as a 5 man group
I had a realy great time in ambushing little groups, camps etc.
But it would be nice that it is a bit more crowdy
on our side during the night. To keep things alive and competing.
An improvement, but still invisible zerg’s seems also the casting time is beginning an problem as often you press heal but nothing happens. this occurs especialy when a lot of people are cropped in one place. (zerging)

Well after a more than a week of problems I also have enough of the current problem that is teasing WvW (culling issue) At the moment you need to relog every 10 minutes to avoid the culling problem. After restart 20-45 minutes que > 10 play > etc…
Think I am gonna do 100% completion etc.. Hope that isn’t bugged too.
Or else Legendary weapon would be a fail too.
