I bought my t3 human cultural… on several characters and I have no problems with the flamekissed armor I actually wish it was still on the gemstore because I like it more than the t3

Actually if people like you didn’t rage so hard maybe they would have made a reskin of asuran t3 that your human could have enjoyed. This is why we can’t have nice things.

I have Master of Overkill from a Wall of Reflection dropped behind me after running through the midst of about 18 young karka, so that’s 300,000+ against 80th level, armored targets, but two million??!?!!

You misunderstand, being kacked in PvP or WvW isn’t about the gear/repair cost, it is about feeling less than epic. In a RPG, we like to think of ourselves the “hero” of the story thus getting randomly kacked from some stranger you run into removes all fantasy barriers from the game to the PvE crowd.

Some people simply approach the game much differently than you do.

i cant feel like a hero if i just do the faceroll living story content
after you have learned the basic mechanics pve is just too easy in my opinion

to me pvp feels more like a challenge and actually the only real place where i can really feel like a hero when winning vs a good player in a duel for example…

ofc you meet dozens of bad players there too and beating them doesnt feel heroic at all…
i for example never chase lowlvls because its no challenge and therefor no fun for me (ofc if they attack me or they are using siege i down/kill them but im talking more about roaming here anyway)
but if i just find 1 good duel for a day im happy

i understand though that you dont want to be ganked when not yet experienced with pvp yet… and i hope for you that anet chose a way where pve players can finish their living story without being ganked all the time

i personally never kill a pve player when i think i have one in front of me…
i like playing a bit with them and feeling a bit superior downing them and then running away and let them rally
makes me feels like im the almighty but so noble xDDDD

because i know just too well how stupid it was when to be ganked when still being a total pvp noob in gw2…

but on the other hand… if i had not been ganked numerous times in the obsidian jumping puzzle on my first tries it would have not felt like an achievement!!!

i felt much more like a hero when finally finishing this for the first time ages ago because i had to go through so much pvp which was harder than any pve content for me at that time

but if anet really makes the LS content in the pvp zone then you will have to go with a big group… im sure you can just make a post in the forums (player shelping players or ingame events) where you assemble players from your server who need to do it too…
then you just search a day where all/most of you have time and with many people it should be possible
it all depends on what exactly you have to do there ofc for the living story… :/

and maybe it was intended to bring more wvw players back to pve? ^^

Yeah, this really makes me wish there was slightly more organic exploration (i.e. no / less invisible walls).

you can glitch out of every PvE map pretty easy and explore most of the areas behind the invisible walls without any hax ofc
you can also easily glitch out of multiple pvp maps and out of all wvw maps and into walls and rocks in there…. which is not really good… and the glitches are still there even though they were reported by quite a few players (and probably even many more than i know)

just explore and find out
its most fun if you find it by yourself

1) yeh there are more than 1 out there…
for example at griffon jumping puzzle above the place where you start there is a skeleton and inside the skeleton there is another coin
2) i think in the other topic they assumed it was the signature of a developer

you also dont need teleport gun or experimental rifle at all to reach this coin there in LA… not even a weapon leap skill ^^

your calculation is WRONG!
you made 1 greatsword = 1 try
but you need 4 greatswords for 1 try!!!!!!

1) for 220g you can only get 500 RARE gs not exotics so the chances are already small to get a precursor from that
and
2) 500 gs = 125 tries…

so you need lets say 375 tries (you said 300-500 so 375 is still positive thinking to only need 375 tries)

than that 220g would be 660g —> higher price than from TP

so its not really worth it :P

oh i made a mistake too:

It’s not 4 rares/attempt, it’s 3.

If you want to be really picky, you should also consider the 20% chance (or whatever) to get an exotic back.

i would go ele or warrior for your first character
for PvE warrior is a bit easier especially at the beginning and usually welcome in groups for dungeons for example

some useful informations for new players

took me over 11k gems back then to get the mini infinirarium…. that RNG

mini foostivoo was WAY easier to get than the green ones…
because you could craft him when you had 6 of 1 green and 0 of the other green mini….
you couldnt craft the green ones though..

its op in lowlvlareas (1-15) and underpowered in any highlvl area starting 25+

if you had transmuted the rune to any other REAL armor piece and not just a skin you can salvage it (if this other armor piece is no karma armor too cause you cant salvage ANY item that you bought with karma!)
just buy a lvl 10 white armor piece or whatever and transmute it to it then you can salvage

there are already chatcodes for precursor hunt parts
so they definitly worked on it at least

All you need is gold and farm temple/dragon events for few days… every noob can get it easy because you can buy the thigns which are time gated…

Just have to completely agree with the OP and most of the subsequent posts. Probably my only criticism of the art style and atmosphere of GW2 is it’s too uniformly beautiful. I think a simple change such as making nights much darker would go a long way to shift the sometimes cartoony feel of Tyria to something immersive.

Nothing transforms something seen a hundred times as completely as lighting changes. Atmospheric color saturation & lighting is also one of the easiest things to adjust in a game by the developers, it’s just settings really.

I want to be at least a little nervous every time I go into places like Orr, not just because the monsters there are tougher but because the whole atmosphere instills a heavy feeling of foreboding and dread.

I do think Anet is starting to think this way a bit too as the recent Toxic Alliance living story has a bit of a darker feel to it, but still…LET THERE BE NIGHT!

This is right on. Regardless of scarier zones, the day/night transition needs to be more drastic. Doesn’t have to be creepy necessarily. But wouldn’t it be great to have Caledon at night look like Avatar’s Pandora at night, all aglow? Wouldn’t it be neat to see the vibrant, ominous glow of asuran tech shining through the darkened woods of Metrica? Wouldn’t it be epic to feel almost lost amidst the endless snow of the Shivers at night, guided by torches and enticed by warm norn fires? Wouldn’t the Branded and Ascalonian ghosts feel that much more ominous were it darker and more forboding?

I don’t want it to be pitch black. I still want to be able to appreciate the beautiful world that Anet has created. But a more dramatic effect can go a long way.

Hopefully. They should also release new level 90-100 gear (like lvl 100 ascended & legendaries) which we would have to acquire. They dont even need to provide new areas / dungeons / skills; just raise the level cap and introduce the new gear tier. This game could use a little grind, otherwise there wouldnt be much holding us here.

but im pretty sure that 99% of players wouldnt want to grind for EVERY SINGLE EQUIPMENT PIECE…. because every single piece would be worthless if its lvl 80 while lvl 90 is max lvl

a good character has at least 3 armor sets… (for PvE, WvW solo different builds, WvW raiding, ..)
and at least 1 of each weapon and usually 2 of a few like 2x daggers or whatever depening on your class…

so you need like 10+ weapons and 3 complete ascended armor sets and 3 complete ascended trinket sets in order to be able to play all contents with best gear with just 1 char…

Every single one of those flamed-armors are based on pre-existing armor. The Heavy & Medium are based off of Karma Armors, why is no one complaining about that?

Because Karma Armor isn’t a 120 gold Racial Exclusive. Also, I am personally complaining that these were all crappy re-skins at full standard price, instead of actual new products.

they are crafting mats and even the halloween, wintersday etc crafting mats have their own spot there
so why not the doubloons?
