I did deal with it. I completed the puzzle and got the sample (along with a nice 4g exotic from the puzzle chest). I still hate the bloody jumping puzzle, and this is coming from someone who completed the Mad King’s Clocktower – Skipping Stones is frustrating.

you can get both backpacks without doing the jp….
AND you miss 0 achievement points because collecting the samples doesnt give any points…

yup its basically just water at the other areas… you are under the map and can only swim around at the whole are of The Grove…. found a few nice spots for epic screenshots of though

Veterans are very easy too… 1 Ascalon fractal and you have your monthly veterans

You will possibly never use mace+shield on Warrior… in 95% of situations another weapon/weaponcombination is better (in PvE and PvP) (shield is not bad and but mace is not useful very often…)

Guardian can be good support/healer/tank with Mace

i would say you better take Guardian^^

(maybe before thinking of having 2 legendary weapons you should first create a guardian and a warrior and play them xD)

1. Yes they do. If the target has 25 vuln and the thief/war has 25 might then yes the thief would do more. Although, in a normal situation, warrior does more dps vs a single target until said target gets below 25%. Warriors also have higher burst than thieves in an aoe and vs a single target… while at range so they’re safe.

ok Warrior can have highest burst in 1 attack but i thief still has more single target dps… and in duels rifle killshot is not useful (very easy to dodge) and in PvE rifle is definitly not the weapon you want to chose for dps^^ (…only if you are forced to go ranged fight)

(ofc other classes deal more damage if you count all the targets together that they hit… but they have less Single Target Burst instead… that’s why for example thieves are so popular for Cof path 1farm because you basically only need Single Target burst)

OR you could actually read my post and see what I was saying. They do aoe burst but even if it’s just against a single target, they still do damage than thieves. Hope that cleared it up for you

the poor players who are on top of achievement points list then would have to create the max 36 characters and do the daily on everyone of them so be on top of the list^^

the idea with character bound dailies is stupid in my opinion but i like the idea of being able to buy amuletts with pristine relics

just reduce the price for ascended amulett (and accessory too maybe)

You can buy the jetpack right now for a similar price to all those other items. Even when the price goes up, it’s still something to work for. People in this thread are saying there is no progression toward getting the jetpack, but there is, it’s sellable.

Sure people down who haven’t started the game yet may not have a chance to get this item in the future. But everyone in this thread can get it.

i have absolutely no problem with droprate being low and with the backpack being hard to get but PLEASE NOT if it can only drop in a dungeon which is only there for ~2 weeks and after that it cant be found anymore…
And we cant even know if the dungeon will come back because no dev says anything about it and even if it comes back then we dont know if the backpack comes back too..

I have no problem with working for it for a longer time but i cant work for it because it can only be found for 2 weeks and after that there is no new supply but still demand and the price will rise…

All we would need to know is if the dungeon will come back some day and if the chance to get it will come back with the dungeon…
but the way it is now is just stupid in my opinion….
if it wont come back then the backpack is rarer then any legendary… because legendaries can be created again and again but the backpack could not be found anymore so in theory it would be worth more than a legendary ^^

It’s weird the obsession some people have with the legendary weapons. People want them because they are rare and unique, and not everyone has one. but then kitten and moan because they are rare and unique, and it’s hard for “me” to get one.

You totally misunderstood the post and failed to contribute anything to this topic. There were 2 points I wanted to mention in that post:
1)The randomness in this game is favoring some players more than the others and creating inequalities.
2)Our progression in the game is limited or at an end. We cannot simply advance in Fractals and other dungeons aren’t getting any harder. Most of the content is just pressing movement keys.

2) You’re right there is no gear-grind at end game. I concede a game without gear grind doesn’t have it. (except for legendary weapon skins that have a different randomness system then grinding a raid over and over hoping for a drop, and a lucky loot roll.)

1) this is no real exploit because it’s not repeatable
2) not every player knew you get another 10 laurels (for example they guy who made the first topic about it because he was surprised by it – would just be super unfair to ban him and others who just didnt knew this and couldnt have known that it was unintended)

It currently takes about 200g to make an agony/stat infusion, obviously that varies alot per type you are trying to make. Currently laurels are worth about 50s per laurel. In order to keep both methods viable it would need to cost about 195g to use the laurel infusion upgrade you are suggesting. Is this an acceptable solution for you? If not then your suggestion probably isn’t feasible in order to keep various methods competitive on creating infusions.

i personally dont have fun in grinding…. i do it to have the legendary but when i have it all i want to do is fight in wvw / dungeons / fractals / new events with this legendary and finally forget about the grind…

Why did you simply take that as accurate? The basis of the exploit wasn’t just using mobile guild bank capability. This was a case of players in game taking advantage of other players. Apparently ArenaNet received enough data about this happening in-game to take rather draconian measures against it. Yes, it sucks that this is an inconvenience to legitimate players. They had to weigh this inconvenience against the potential damage of the exploit to- wait for it- legitimate players.

If you feel making access to the guild bank slightly less convenient is destroying the game, that’s your prerogative. You’re more than entitled to complain vocally about it as well.

It’s pretty crappy to suspect nefarious intent on their part, however, like they just really wanted to stick it to small guilds. I hate it every time an exploit was used widely enough to take universal action against. That doesn’t mean it shouldn’t be done.

I dont feel making acces to the guild bank less convenient is destroying the game (you really exaggerate with saying that i could have this opinion —> maybe you read that i wrote that i didnt even use it myself ever since launch….^^)

I like the concept behind engineer but I can’t wait that long for it to stop being frustrating! I’m not really interested in becoming a gaming master, all I want to do is have some fun exploring and adventuring, and Engineer wasn’t making that possible for me.

For the fiery sword you need 10 points:
3 Points for connecting GW1 with GW2
2 Points for Black Widow Pet
1 Point for any hero armor (for Koss for example)
1 Point for any common Minipet
2 Points for completing Nightfall campaign (that is not too hard and if you need help you can ask me)
1 Point for any Elite Armor set (Ancient Armor for example)

= 10 Points

only thing that takes some time (besides completing Nightfall story and Eye of the North Story to som extend) is the Elite Armor Set because you have to spend some GW1 gold for it but i think you should be able to gather enough for that one and i can give you some platinum (=GW1 gold) for that and for the minipet and the hero armor too and help you to get Black Widow Pet…

edit:
Instead of Black Widow Pet and Ancients Armor Set you could also just get:
1x any normal pet (1 Point)
1x Destroyer Weapon (2 Points)

actually i think these Minipets dont fit into the game also the Backpiece and most of the Super-Weapons doesnt do too! (I guess Greatsword and Sword are ok and they actually fit to asuran heavy Tier3 armor, but especially Staff, Shield and Backpiece just shouldnt be in this game in my opinion)

it just destroys my dream of a mythical and medieval world :/ because it just clearly looks like something from another game and therefore shouldnt be in this awesome game (it actually IS something indented to look like from an old Mario Game or similar one…), which is the reason why i feel so uncomfortable everytime i see one of the new backpieces

I don’t really have a problem at all with the progression being character bound. If it were account, i probably wouldn’t complain either, but i suppose i just figured it was going to be character based. Not a problem, really, and I hardly think its a “screw job” : /
