As the elected community manager of the Darkhaven Alliance [DHA] and one of the managers of HVN, I am here to address the video submitted earlier.

The offender was acting alone, and not on behalf of any of the leaders or officers of our alliance, and this is currently under investigation.

We appreciate this being brought to our attention.

In response to the allegation that there are two more, we will be looking for proof.

DHA consists of over 25 worldwide guilds (and growing). We are currently getting our “day shift” organized in order to create a better gaming experience for everyone so that no one has to depend on the “night crew” to clean things up.

Despite the less than desirable position this week (and likely next), we have been able to review what we need to improve, and regroup.

We welcome guilds to join DHA, regardless of whether you are the only person in your guild, or you have a small number. DHA has a friendly atmosphere. There are no egos and all of our commanders work together. It is an exceptional setup that I am personally proud to be a part of.

We would like to thank Crystal Desert and Yak’s Bend for an amazing week. Of course, there has been a bit of frustration, and no one likes to lose, but I can safely speak for DHA to say that we have had a really good time and have enjoyed the challenges.

Hey man, you don’t have to defend your server because of one idiot. All of us unfortunately have these hackers that think they’re helping, but they are ruining the fun for all 3 servers involved.

As a side note, Yak’s and DH have been awesome this entire match.

All servers have hackers – but that doesn’t mean everyone on the server does it. All GOOD servers will have queues – because people want in on the GOOD action.

As previously stated, Yak’s has respectfully returned stolen/hacked orbs, so as far as ‘hacking’ goes – they obviously don’t condone it.

I have relocated my small guild to Crystal Desert recently, and am now recruiting Wv3 players.

[UO] is comprised by PVP vets that have been PK’ing since ‘98. We have seen it all, through pre-UO:Renaissance, DAoC, Darktide Asheron’s Call and a lot more. We’re looking for like minded people that want to avoid being part of the zerg, get coordinated and hit hard.

I am on CD but I can say that Yak’s is a quality server with quality players and a very respectful community. I can recall 2 hacked orbs that their commanders have manned up and returned.

If you’re looking for a good home, go to Yak’s.

The only good sportsmanship I’ve ever heard when speaking of world vs world was about the Yak’s bend server where they had an orb they didn’t rightfully own and a guildleader of them switched over to coordinate a transfer of the orb to the other server.

I am pretty sure both GoM and AR know BP wouldn’t stand a chance without their unfair advantage.

Just wanted to point out that someone from Yak’s stole our orb on CD here last week, and again their commanders organized a respectful return of it. Yak’s is a quality server with great people.

It’s possible that the carrier died, I’ve seen it wack out a few times like that. It could also be something worse, but can’t really point fingers until there is certain evidence.

Talk about your old server all you want to Osskil but when you start suggesting that we are not trying / losing and that AR+GoM should troll our server you should expect this kind of negative attention back.

Anyways, I think I speak for all of us when I say take your nose out from our collective behinds and “transfer” it in your own servers business.

I didn’t say you guys aren’t trying – I just stated that you’re spending time here instead of Wv3’ing it and taking back objectives. And saying that AR and GoM should team up and squelch you guys out of 1st is still something I stand by – as in any match that the #1 server pulls away a significant amount. If you don’t like that, too bad. I am fairly certain you can ignore me on the forums just as well as in game. I welcome any form of feedback, be it positive or negative – but I won’t take it very seriously.

No one asked me to put my opinion in – but then again neither did they for you. I mean no offense to anyone here, but where I post is entirely up to me. I am merely here to encourage my old server to do well and congratulate them on closing a massive point deficit whilst lacking any commanders.

What exactly do you propose that the offending server do then? As I said, Yak’s has already returned one ill gotten orb, and hopefully CD will return the favor. That being said, no individual player can stop these losers from doing what they do, so pointing your finger at a server and saying ’YOU’RE CHEATERS’ isn’t a very fair or rational response.

Instead, focus on reporting the people doing this, and sending in the videos/screenshots/evidence to Anet to hopefully prevent this stuff in the future.

This match is very close and I hope it remains that way.

Yak’s had someone on their server hack an orb, and their commanders were respectful enough to give it back. Hopefully ours will do the same. That being said though – again – a handful of idiots do not speak for the entire server.

I don’t think anyone is crying – but I do think you and whoever else is claiming that CD is a hacker server with sweeping generalizations is an idiot. Reality check – look at every single Wv3 match up thread on this forum since it started and you will see people blaming hackers on each server. Why is that you ask? Because every server is home to some of these morons, and until Arenanet does something to fix it, it will continue to happen. Does that mean that CD or any other server is relying on these types of things to win games? No. It just means that someone (that possibly has server hopped) is in this to cause problems and ruin fun for all 3 servers involved.

Keep trying Sundial, you’re onto something here. My ego isn’t inflated, and no I am not important to GoM now, nor was I back then. I, just like yourself, was merely one player on the server. If you in any way shape or form feel like you are important, you are also very misguided.

I did transfer, you’re right. The game allows for that to happen, and it was a decision that I made to move into a tier where there were constant even match ups.

And again, you are not focused on winning – because you are too busy responding to my posts and attempting to make yourself seem important with forum presence.

Yesterday, during primetime, the numbers looked really even between our 3 server. Well at least in EB. We had outmanned buff for a bit, then BP got it for like 5-10 min too, so it was all fair.

And don’t worry, I won’t judge BP over Dirtyklingon, Plok or Hakato. They have been posting thing like that since launch, in every match up. I know the rest of PB is really great, and have really good player.

I do like getting under peoples skin when it comes to this stuff. And clearly I have found the subject to do it to you.

I don’t think you’ve gotten under anyone’s skins – you’re just making yourself, your guild and your server (to a small extent) look bad.

Focus on winning or at least maintaining a lead before you engage in any form of bravado lest you embarrass yourself.

Plus really, no one should take my comments too seriously. Clearly I am not on GoM anymore.

Please don’t take the comments of a few to reflect Borlis Pass as a whole. So far this match up has been the best yet, and the closest by far. I’m really looking forward to seeing how it ends. We might finally see a real push for the finish this time around.

I don’t think any sane person would Looks like you guys are giving GoM their first good match up in a long time. Went from blowing out Sorrow’s Furnace to getting murdered by SoR, then again by Yak’s. I usually see nothing but friendly people in the bottom tiers, and there is awesome server loyalty there.

I played on GoM since launch. I was having a good conversation with GoM players until one of your BP players decided to pop off at the mouth instead of focusing on not losing to GoM. But by all means, keep talking here so you aren’t focused on the match, bro.

as for GoM teaming up with AR, take care, the last two times we teamed up with them they backstabbed us every opportunity to farm karma and gold.

saying GoM has no night crew is hilarious. my guild has been out manned by GoM into the wee hours of the night much most of this match so far.

and AR typically slides in to second in our matches while we are asleep.

Played is past tense. I moved to CD because IRL friends moved. I actually did my best to try to unite GoM and help alliances get moving after the main Wv3 guilds left the server.

I will talk about this match in this thread as I please, as this is a Wv3 discussion in a Wv3 threat on the Wv3 board. Sorry if you’re offended if an outsider is joining in the talks, but you can take your petty nonsense elsewhere.

If you are claiming that you are being outnumbered by a server that lacks Wv3 presence, you need to work harder to get people in from PvE.

15 vs 20 isn’t really all that much to pat yourself on the back about to be honest. Your ego is inflated, that’s all. I would not be surprised if GoM overruns you and AR makes a big comeback. Do your best to not get complacent.

I am telling you that from previously playing on GoM, they do NOT have a great night population. There are players there, but there is a significant difference between even 10pm and 12am.

Make it happen. Get a commander from each side to team up, take over the maps 50/50 – and then fight each other. Nothing like trolling a whole server.

GoM definitely lacks the late crew. I play at stupid late hours even though I am on CST – and was always one of the few on at night for GoM. I am happy to see them throwing down. And I do hope that AR teams up with GoM, all is fair. All servers with any kind of blowout should adopt this – team up and level the field, then go back to a free for all.

Or just leave the illusion of it so people get paranoid/frustrated!

If someone lost a held point, I’m pretty sure it is easy to figure out how – someone took it. How you took it doesn’t matter.

No matter how you look at it – GoM is closing the map – and so is AR.

We were discussing the reputation of the server. How about you stop posting your silly pictures and focus on playing – because how I see it – GoM has pretty easily closed the gap that you guys generated.

Check back every few hours – people transfer off and a few slots open up. It’s not permanently full.

Nope. No new transfers. The server is just playing much better than we have in the past. I honestly think that having some of the fair weather guilds transferring out was a big help to us in the long run.

We’ve been placed in brackets against servers that we had no business competing against. It wasn’t because we lacked skill…it was a matter of WvWvW population and an inability to have 24×7 coverage. This week’s match up has been awesome…we’re competing against servers on an even footing and loving the actual pvp we’re being able to take part in. And, to your comment about “lack of intelligence all around” – this week has seen a marked improvement in tactics, a lack of mindless zerging and an increase in real organization on the server. This is no slight on you Osskil, or any one else, but since we’ve seen the mass exodus of so many guilds from GoM…the level of play has actually gotten better.

Honestly, I don’t think that the faithful of GoM really care what bracket we’re in. The top tiers with all of the server transfer drama can keep all of that chaos up with them. We’re more than happy to be in the bracket we’re in doing actual pvp. Those of us who refuse to abandon our server are not concerned with the “glory” of being a top tier W3 server (what ever that really means in the great scheme of things), but are more intent on actually being able to take part in balanced battles and rigorous combat. So, for anyone reading this…we don’t feel bad, or want anyone’s pity for not being in the top tiers. We’re very happy to finally be settling into a bracket where we can actually participate in WvWvW rather than watch karma hungry murder machines zerg through the maps from our citadel.

Good game so far and a salute to Borlis Pass and Anvil Rock for the great fights!

Not saying the people on GoM are unintelligent – I am stating that the idiots that tarnished the name by exploiting, and the sweeping generalization that GoM has a hacker server due to this – that’s the lack of intelligence I am referring to!

Not stating that the big Wv3 guilds leaving would make you worse – only that there were some big numbers associated with it. I believe [PRO] was 300+ members, weren’t they? And unfortunately whenever you see a big exit by a guild like that, you’ll find people that ride their coat tails. But at least to [PRO]s credit – they moved DOWN in tiers to compete instead of hopping straight up and trying to be a part of T1.

Maybe that tier is where GoM belongs – and if so that’s cool. The community there is great, and I am happy to see them doing well (I have family that plays on that GoM :p )

I keep looking at this thread expecting IoJ to have closed the gap. Transfers hitting them, or did they just give up? Kind of disappointing if a former T1 just says meh. I get HoD suffering with the mass exodus, so they get a pass… but come on man!

GoM just doesn’t have the numbers that it used to because a lack of intelligence all around. GoM unfortunately had some orb hackers / exploiters (just like every server) – which has apparently permanently tainted the name. The only big Wv3 guilds hopped off, leaving the rest of us to play with an extremely diminished group of people. When I left, I no longer saw any commanders in Wv3.

If GoM is suddenly doing well (after they have been blown out and shut down the last 2 match ups,) I would wager that they got some transfers, and good for them. They need it! GoM has a good community there, and they don’t deserve the tag on their name – and if they do – all servers do.

PVE is not a good thing to blame. If you want to be in the top tiers, you need to make sure you are furnishing with Wv3 players at all times. All 3 of these servers are full, so you can’t really blame lack of numbers. A point deficit can be erased – but completely giving up is a bit silly.

It’s easy to say this as someone looking from the outside who doesn’t see the big picture. BG has hacked more in the past few nights than any other server that we have faced over the previous weeks combined. It’s hard to keep people motivated to play against that garbage. It ruins the spirit of the game and the fun when people resort to cheating. People get fed up and quit.

I’m not saying it sin’t happening – not at all. I am telling you this as someone who came from Gate of Madness – and we all know GoM’s unfortunate reputation. Despite all the orb hacking, they still found ways to lose. So what I am saying is don’t give up, because they can still screw it up. Do your best to report the idiots that you catch doing it, hope that the enemy commanders have a little respect for the game and do your best to post a comeback.

As a side note – I don’t envy anyone in this thread. I am sure the quality of PVP is much better up there in Tier 1, but those queue times man..

Hey man, check out the thread a few posts down from here. [UO] [Ai] and multiple other guilds on GoM are already in the process of trying to unite the server. Join in, because we will need all the help we can get.

I play at odd times. About 5:30 to 7:30 PM CST, then about 11PM til’ 2AM on weekdays. Then on weekends I am on at random hours during the day, and I play from about 11PM until 4AM Friday/Saturday.

Love the interest this has garnered. [Áí] is fun to run with, and we showed last night that even when we are losing we can quickly take half the map back with some quick tactics, with a very small group of people.
