1. Not as often as it used to happen. Those youtube videos might be from near the launch when the hacking was pretty big issue (especially with orbs)

2. I don’t see that much hacking anymore. Zoom hacking every now and then, but that is not too bad and from time to time I see some other weird stuff I can’t be too sure if it is hacking or not. The overall situation is pretty good in my opinion though.

3. I suppose so. I don’t see them as much as I used to see.

4. Depends how the hacks are used. Capturing objectives? Maybe in this situation. Personal kills? Not that much then, even with the +1 war point boost.

Ohhh, I get the big picture now. First it was the Tier system, where we climb up the rankings and were facing servers 6 times in a row. Then people whined there wasn’t enough shuffle so they introduced the randomness. Now there was a lot of shuffle but now there was huge blowouts because the ranking differed so much.

Then came the leagues where they try to control the disparity a bit. Next obvious step is to shrink the league pool size to 6 servers. The match ups will be still not good enough and then they shrink them to 3 servers and alas, we are back where we started.

Time to shuffle up again!

But yea, as Gennyt say, the system itself is flawed to favor the one who has more numbers. There will never be fair matches for such big group of servers where people seem to hop to another so much.

Looks like some server pulled a show here and called everyone to go write “agree 100%!” here.

Now, I ain’t saying this isn’t a real problem or anything (My server will be red for next, who knows how long). If this really is the case with green borderland, I feel for you guys, but this show you put up. Well, I wish there was more talk about the situation and not only “100% agree 100%!!”

I still don’t know why everyone is saying they are sorry for us (Underworld). It’s not like we are here whining how unfair it is or that we are not enjoying ourselves.

Sure, we are out manned about 95% of the time and the rest 5% we are equal, but that doesn’t mean we couldn’t have fun or something. I haven’t had as much fun roaming for months that I have had now. It reminds me of the “old days” when this happened before. We were out manned all the time, but we did roaming parties and sneak sieged stuff and so on.

For example, today we just took Desolation Bay which had reinforced gates and walls, cannons and stuff with 4-men group. Maybe Deso was busy near Mill / Hills at the time, but hey, there was an opening and we took it and that was FUN.

I think this “Sorry for Underworld” is pretty much the same thing as the term “Tankalation” for Desolation. Not much either of us can do about the situation and everyone keeps reminding about it.

TL;DR: Don’t be freaking sorry for us when there is nothing to be sorry about…

Perhaps the warrior was running GS/Hammer build. Makes them mobile while ditching a lot of damage. I know I can down upscaled and low armor targets with around 3 hits from my hammer chain. Getting around 30 second stability with warrior is doable as well. And with the new Healing Signet and good chunk of armor it can feel like you are only poking him with a stick.

The map compelation isn’t that much of a problem… well at least didn’t use to be. When the servers rotated more and servers get to play all of the three colors it was kind of easy because your server would hold your own corner at some point and you could just walk in and take the PoIs and Vistas and so on. But now, with the league and the matchups? Not gonna happen. My server is 6 times red and green once.

But yea, the map compelation in WvW was an ancient way to get people travel to WvW and get into it, thats why the PoIs are inside keeps and so on (at least this is what I suspect). Maybe they should remove them finally all together or at least make them so that you don’t have to get into a keep, but getting to the gate would be enough and so on.

Midnight, sounds like somekind of sci-fi movie narcotic. But yea, screenshot would have been pretty neat, now we just have to believe you some ele did that.

Don’t forget guys, you can always buy your siege from the TP or with badges…
And every time you buy the siege on the TP you’re filling some weapon dealer’s pocket… Most notably me, and my commander tag thanks you for its creation. (Seriously though if they made siege last indefinitely I would be broke and my market would crash)

If I understood right you get siege from other players because of your commander tag, and then sell them on TP? Well… that’s… sick.

Anyhow, back to topic. I agree that the decay timer should NOT be increased, because of the trolling. Not really because of the cap on the map, but because of the 5 siege vicinity counter. It’s not that hard to build 5 useless ballistas (which cost like 1 silver each in TP). close to a gate making defenders unable to place any defensive Arrow Carts on that gate. Waiting 1 hour for the troll ballistas to disappear is doable, but 3 hours or even 2 hours, is just too long.

And you asked how the troll have patience to do this all day? Well, they don’t do it all day. They come in when the server they want to help are having big events and start to troll, making the enemy servers life a lot easier.

Windmill duels? I want some of those as well, bwaaaah! Why nobody invited me?! I know what it is, people don’t want my pinkness in there, that’s it, everyone hates me ;____;

Personally I do hope ANet can find a way so that the PPT is more relevant during European Prime Time or in the early afternoon , especially when there are Guild Raids running, while allowing people to play when they want- at whatever time, no matter the timezone.

Just going to say simple ‘No’ to this. This thing has been discussed so many times here in the forums that I don’t have enough fingers and toes for this.

And yea, you pretty much gave the answer yourself: “Allowing people to play when they want – at whatever time”. Nobody’s time should be more valuable than others. Even if it is PvD at night, it should still tick as much. And I’m from UW and I think like this, think about that.

I know it feels really unfair if the enemy server wins you by simply having better coverage, while you pretty much crush them at Prime Time, but prime time is such overrated stuff anyways.

And what comes to the competitive game mode of WvW. Sadly it can’t be that unless you have queue’s 24/7 on all three servers (or atleast close to queues). The WvW format is unfair by definition and that’s why it really can’t ever be competitive game mode. I know, it makes me sad as well that this game mode I love to play can’t be something like that, but that’s how it is.

Just enjoy the mode, have fun, respect your fellow server mates and your enemies. Play with friends and so on. There will be unfair moments, but don’t let them make you bitter. I’m not that bitter yet either, and my server is out gunned by 95% of the time on this league. But yet I manage to have fun, because the people I play with, are nice and fun to play with. Thanks for that UW

TL;DR: I want duels behind windmill. WvW is unfair, not much to do about it. I have fun times in UW.

@Bloodstealer, actually GH did blob on that fight and many other times on that night. We were around 25-30 max on any time on that evening, with 15ish GuM members and the others from other guilds like Mayh, NUTS and so on. Then there was GH, who had FG, Fury, Rage and INC in our border, and they were running real close to each other most of the time

I think the fight started with us going out and AM jumped us. We got a good fight, Gunnars started to pour in, I think it was INC mostly and maybe Rage as well. Was still pretty fun fight as it was almost in even numbers. Then came in more Abaddon, and then the two other GH guilds and it was a huge Blob fest.

40-50 GH vs (didnt see all the AM, but) 40ish AM and then us 20 UW, lol.

But yea, it wasn’t only fight where we were fighting with one of the GH guilds, had a blast and then another GH guild enters the fight, and then another. Gets kinda out of balance pretty quick, heh.

But it is WvW, and thats one way to play it so I’m not complaining. We had good fights from UW perspective so I’m just happy bout the night :P

First of i agree with you that “Blobbadons” is a fail nickname given to you by servers that is playing exactly the same as you.
I have no problem personally with the way you guys are playing, i kinda like it, and atleast you are honest about it. You don’t pretend to be something you are not.:)
It reminds of the horror stories i have heard about Vizunah and when we actually faced them i discovered that it was a made up story by some T1 forum warriors.
The problem most of the people here have is with 1(one) poster from your server and that is all.

The problem is more like this. Some GH bashed AM for blobbing, “the one” defended his server with bashing. After that, yeah, the bashing kept going.

While there was only one basher from AM side, there was more than 5 from GH bashing him and the whole server.

And yea, Gunnars tried to tell AM how to play first, so that argument is flawed as well.

Sadly, as I tend to focus a stronger opponent, I won’t see you a lot. Shame, I like Underworld. Especially your scary rapid response squads – I still remember when you forced our group of 3 to assault unupgraded camps with ballistae to make it in time before you come :-).

Sadly, those times are mostly over because of all the changes to the meta in WvW
We still keep defending in high regards and try to be everywhere and scout stuff, but its now harder than ever when our server kind of crumbled and some of other “nice” patches for WvW

But GuM still wants to give good fights for everyone, were it 1v1, 5v5 or whatever. Also we want to annoy as many people as we can through effective defending, haha.

And [MM], it’s always pleasure to see you guys on the field because I know you can pack a punch and it will be tough fight :P

Also, what comes to your statement about AM, I totally agree. It’s not their fault if they can deploy such numbers every hour and they use those numbers the way which seems to be very effective in this matchup. Numbers prove this statement and it seems these guys who “don’t care” about numbers are hurt by the numbers.

And the bashing between GH and AM keeps going, great, more popcorn it is.

But I’m starting lean towards Gunnars being the kitten here now though. With all that elitism and bashing, it’s pretty… ugh. While Zord is only defending his server (Yea Gunnars, your guys started the bashing) with reasonable arguments, flavored with lil bashing, heh.

And don’t worry Gunnars, AM belongs to this league and I doubt they are the hardest server in it either.

By the way, was nice fights in UW border until GH started to blob!

But I have to say, we kept getting that lord up for sometime. And before you pull up any “we be farmin you”, yea I know. We were just holding it as long as possible and hoping AM would pop out from somewhere to join the fight and tip the balance so we could gather up and get you both out, but didnt happen.

Well, if you keep protecting it with kittentillions of guys the camp should be fine! As long as you don’t turn your back for it more than 20 seconds that is! And it was fun to roam GH border, and I think what made it more fun was the fact that we killed way more Abaddon than GH in your turf, haha. But it’s even worse in our border so

I actually agree with deleting superior siege, heh.

With masteries you can get more out of normal siege than you used to get out of superior.

I have to say that was a fun reset. Start was pretty grim with both servers pushin UW border from both side with huge zergs.

After a while we got our gears rolling and I just couldn’t stop the loot bags coming. I tried to control the guys on the move but they were so thirsty for traitor blood that there was nothing to do

We are not gonna win the match obviously. But there is a lot of traitor loot bags to loot, so ex-Underworlders, come at me! And why not others as well, your loot bags are nice as well ;D

because there is a lot more to WvW than 40 guys hitting their head against another 40 guys.

Also, that holing up might be the only way for some of the outmanned servers to have a fighting chance, which is already ridicilously small because of the ram mastery.

Well, I don’t want to lose fully upgraded keeps because there wasn’t a scout around the JP 24/7. And you already pointed out the flaw of it, mesmers. While it could be implemented that a huge amount of players coulndn’t complete it in a good enough pace, single mesmer can port in more than enough to insta cap a keep.

And there was these kind of JP’s to keeps before, they were called glitches, and no defender liked them.

So the problem isn’t the Omega Golems themselves, but the huge amount of them around at the moment because of the glitch + allowing siege to be sold in TP.

The omega golems used to be pretty balanced because of their high cost and you wouldn’t see too many of them used at time. 5 omegas was super mad kitten back in the days (atleast in my server when we saw some rushes like that).

I do agree that something has to be done to the huge amount of them in the pockets of players , other than that they are pretty fine.

Does this mean umm… for beating a warrior (Omega golem), you have to use poison (scouting) against them. If you failed or cant have poison, you could try to lure them to use all the active defenses (kill the escorts) to take it down. Or maybe you could try to just burst it down (burst it down).

I disagree strongly. If enemy servers outman you most of the situations you will be having hard time holding anything for long. Especially when its your own home border and there is two sides attacking you.

The rams are way more powerful than they should be at the moment to make defending worth while when you are the underdog in your match up. You can upgrade a keep for 2-3 hours and siege up, just to see it gone in 10 minutes because you couldn’t get enough people to man those Arrow carts and what not to destroy the 3 superior rams…

Awesome fights in Underworld Border, loot bags everywhere for everyone! Definetly a lot of fun and nice fights, especially the one in Bay and Garrison where it was three-way and all! We couldn’t take bay but we took and held Garrison!

Bring it on you two, the underdog is live and kicking!

I assume you are not probally meaning anything bad with that, but seriously? Could you shove that comment back to where ever it came from. We might not be par with the other in the silver league as is, but we won’t stop fighting or wanting to show that we ain’t totally dead.

Maybe Underworld doesn’t have the most honorable history or most glory one either, but it’s the place I feel like I’m in home. Server pride? Maybe, but what’s more important is that I can share the moments of pride with my good friends and server mates. So don’t come joking about deleting my home or I vaporize yours buddy!

Even if red is “best” because of their placement in EB, it doesn’t matter. Only handful of servers are going to get to play as every color and that is a problem in my opinion.

Underworld: 6 times Red, 1 time Green
Vizunah: 4 times Blue, 3 times Green
Jade Sea: 5 times Red, 2 times Blue

Can you see the problem yet?

Theres couple lucky ones who will get every color atleast once, but they are not too many in that list.

This is no rant about “I can never get my map explorer achievement now ;_;” because I don’t need it personally, but I can see how it is going to be annoying for some people now.

Also, I don’t want to be Red 6 times and once Green. That is boring.

Now, there is not much to do anymore on this Season as it would be too much of a hassle to start changing the orders and so on and so on. But could you look into the colors a little bit longer on the next Season please, because I don’t want to end up playing as Red 86% of the time.

Yeah, as an Underworld player I have to admit we did that. You know, we started to be too close to Gold league six weeks ago, we were already on rank 16. Thats like… only 7 ranks to Gold league. So yea, we had to send most of our guilds to play on other servers so we would stay on Silver.

It’s more like post- or pre-defensive action! Depends which way you want to observe the situation. If you want to think its post-defensive as it is done after the enemy siege or pre-defensive where you repair the wall before they siege again!

And if you happen to do it defensively as in the middle of the siege you will be called a supply waster! You know I will win you in this Krrrrrall!!

Krall, you should know no defender ever repairs themselves! They either a) Orders a wall upgrade or b) shouts in team chat until zerg passes by and repairs! So it doesn’t count for defending!

Warrior is a neat hybrid of a punching bag and a support totem if you want to. Especially now when you can trait shouts and warhorn at the same time. Take a hammer on swap and you get:

Two blast finishers with horn and hammer. Active condition cleaning with 2 skills from horn + 2-3 shouts, depends how many you want ( I would go two ). And pretty neat healing from shouts, you can easily bump the shout heal to 2k now. You can give your party 4 different boons ( might, fury, swiftness, vigor ) and your horn converts conditions in to boons as well, nice!

Of course you can’t give stability and protection like Guardians, but when it comes to cleaning conditions and giving fury, swiftness and vigor I bet warrior wins here.

Haters might hate, but if I can cleanse 8 conditions with one go and wait 20s for the next cleanse, I don’t mind. Also I don’t have to blow all up at once, which makes it even more better

Because those achievements would make it worse for the defenders. Unnecessary upgrades, bad siege placement, keep supplies wasted on repair during siege and what not. There is not really any good way to make those achievements to work before they make events that properly work with defending.

The defense event is kind of a joke because you might not be able to trigger it even though you just repelled 20 guys from the gate by destroying their siege and making them pull off even if they contested the keep.

And then you get event Failed because that same keep got captured 2 hours afterwards while you were having a talk with Skritts on the far NW corner of the map ;P

Oy oy oy you all. Underworld might be the underdog of this League, and we might have lost “couple” guilds, but we will be spankin your hineys so much that you won’t be needing lights ever again in your life!

Come at me you boasting balloons, I have plenty of Express tickets to QQ threads reserved just for you all!

On a more serious note. We will try to do our best and have some good fights even if we might not be as strong as we used to. At least the server is now a lot less dramatic when a lot of people left, hah.

You forgot that taking the bloodlust from one server makes the boost difference between you and them a whopping 50 points.

So, if everyone has the buff, everyone is on the same ground. If one server nicks the buff, it has the advantage of 50 points towards that server because they gained extra 20 points and the other server lost 30 points.

This is a welcome nerf to the buff in my opinion. It still has meaning to hold the bloodlust to your server, but doesn’t offer that much of a stat point difference. I think this bloodlust looks pretty balanced on the paper now. We will see in time how much people pay attention for it though.

Sometimes when Im solo roaming and I keep encountering only groups of 5 or more, I gently start to sing this song and try to control my blood pressure:

I don’t know why everyone always talks about warrior banners all the time like they were the only ones who can ress lord with a skill. Warriors ress skill is the only elite skill (if you dont count the ranger Spirit) and has the longest CD as well. Very hard to rezz the lord with the guardian skill and guardians can’t have both stability and invulnerability (like defy/endure pain) while doing it.

Me as warrior have a selfish zerg build and a support build, due to joining a wvw guild I swapped to using the support one, now i no longer have endure pain the the stability thing. I admit I do have stability traited to kick in on knockdown but is more on cooldown than effective. So stop the kittening about having way more skills to help you pull off a ress.

Indeed, it is more about finding a good spot to do it from than putting all your utilities to cooldown tbh. Take advantage of the chaos. I have hand rubbed the lord up in the middle of the chaos in garrison multiple times. One of those times was few days backwards when there was enemy groups in our garrison and they killed lord and ran straight away from him. Me and couple others ressed him in matter of seconds with rubbing.

I just glance every now and then the screen of gw2 and if I happen to see zerg I punch my keyboard with my fist and my warrior does 250 stacks of confusion to everyone on 10 000 radius (even teammates) and everyone die right away. The stacks also last for 30 minutes, can’t be cleansed and stay even after dead. Come at me bro!

kitten guys! I had to move out and live under the bridge because of this thread. So much drama, so much popcorn. I have no more moneyz nor popcorn. Could anyone spare some? Pwetty pleeeeeease?

Permanent scout doesn’t really help if defensive force can’t get there in time. You don’t have much of a chance to repel the attackers even if you are inside the tower and have sAC, cannon and oil ready. Also, if you happen to be there they will just skip the place and run elsewhere.

And yea, in lower tiers we don’t have manpower to have a scout in every tower and keep watching stuff.

Also wooden gates are meaningless. Meaning that if you lose your keep for what ever reason, you will be having hard time to upgrade it because enemy blob can just waypoint to border and sweep all the work and upgrades you have tried to do in that keep. Usually this kind of sweep happens in minute or two with keeps and less than a minute with a tower. Even if you prepared sAC or some kind of defenses in the keep/tower, you are not able to slow down the enemy blob as the rammers and the rams can withstand the damage of 3 sAC easily until the gate is down.

There is pretty much no sense to defend at the moment if you don’t happen to be the upperhand on the match. Playing as underdog means that you have to just try to organize a zerg to retake stuff after the enemy has taken it from you. You can always try to defend a keep, but that means it opens up your other side of border for the other server or other small hit group.

If considering only WvW side, no. Because server popularity doesn’t really mean how many players play WvW. Sure, it indicates the level of activity in WvW as well to some extent, but it’s not that simple.

All I can see from that google sheet is that rams are overpowered

Aurora, like said before in this thread, I would say Underworld has lost some of its “pressure” because ANet has been hindering defensive play more and more with every patch.

Bloodlust + Ram mastery kinda kills the defensive playstyle out. While bloodlust ain’t that big thing in defense, it still favors the stronger server, which UW clearly wasn’t in this match up

There was times when AG or MS had all three buffs and UW had its own buff every now and then.

Also, us GuM have been consentrating more on guild roaming than defense lately. So no thousand supply traps, not that many drained supply camps or Hills with thousand AC’s. The Ram mastery was kinda the breaker for it.

But but, the matchup was fun overall though. I had fun roaming with my guild
