lets talk healing power and roles

I’d like to open up with that some people still insist or try to make 100% healer role play styles. I understand that that is not possible and its best to mix tactics and stats around for better to best results.
agreeing: there is no healer due to lack of trinity
However, event and combat credit for those that try to stay off to the side flinging support (healing, buffs, and non damage related effects) grow disappointed that they do not get that participation check, or if they do, its not frequent enough to be noticed. This is 50% hearsay, 50% myself.
not agreeing, YOU should make sure you tag yout targets, when you run lower power you will need more hits to tag your enemy

Lets look at healing power itself. In most respects, its exactly as power, only applies to just healing related skills. In a lesser aspect, skills have fairly low ratios, specially over time effects even though that is justified. When one person tries to heal self, and this is his or her first time playing, he expects the self heal to recover 75% of thier hp in dangerous situations and take 30 seconds to repeat. What currently happens is a 40% hp heal with very wide range of downtimes from 15 seconds to 45 OR a 80% heal over 3 to 6 seconds on a 40 to 60 seconds recharge.
well healing is used for scaling #6 heals, skilll based heales, vampiric healing, sigil healing, regen and water & blast combo
Next lets look at synergy stats. Toughness is favored for defensive importance and role, its a no brainer and it works together with healing power and vitality for increasing survival balancedly. However, healing cannot crit so precision and ferocity is limited to just damage. Then vitality doesn’t quite work in healing’s favor, more health TO heal after all, which would be fine if it wasn’t hard to “catch up” to begin with.
No, Boon duration will synergize with regen, power& condition dmg will be needed to function as to tag and in combat situations, toughness has a minor role and vitality has no use other then possibly extending your life on the battlefields, which is about the same thing why you are using healing. Vitality is useless and toughness is viable, as you can save people by filling their HP when running high toughness, and them losing them slowly as opposed to not being able to fill them and them spending them like there is no tomorrow with vitality…
Effect stacking is my final topic, there’s a comfortable amount of mixing around we can do… except for conditions but i have trouble keeping up with news and thats a completely different topic. A single guardian or elementalist fully dedicated on healing, can only at most heal 7% hp/second with combined sum of effects towards others. Less if passive and hearsay a bit more if active. I do not remember if those mentioning active combined healing took in account for cooldowns or not. I do know that the strongest single AoE utility or trait sourced heals recover about 4000 health to self (or 7000 to others) under maximum conditions.
This could be transfusion used by necro’s, transfusion used on a full clerics necro can heal up to 8000 health to 5 ppl, but it is a channeled skill. If you combine a SB thief and a staff ele, skill 5 on water can be used to deliver between 7200 and 10000 hp in 5 seconds

Leveling is so dry

For all people:

Levelling is still fast and the drops for personal story and leveling have inproved quite a lot (just to mention it)

  1. Do not forget to harvest, and use the materials to craft both give xp, it will provide you with income and materials fro crafting, you will need crafting later on for ascended gear.
#crafting tough nerfed since launch still give xp each level. , not affected by food or boosters though.
  2. Running around unlocking areas, poi’s, waypoints gives very decent xp, not affected by food or boosters though
  3. Killing stuf gives xp, returning to an old map, or killing spawns with a long uptime gives bonus Xp up to more then twice the number of original xp. which is used as a base for the boosters.
  4. Hearts give xp, events give good xp and karma. bosses give xp, story mode dungeons give good xp, explorable mode dungeons give 0.75 level worth of xp.

Food and utility gives an added 2o % xp from kills when both are used, candy corn icecream even more though it is quite expensive.

But if you do not want to spend laurels/ gem store consumables : just buy some food, -any food- and -any utility consumable- will give +10% exp. some only cost a few copper. and wait for your free celebration booster. Use your first tomes of knowledge and gain some free elevels, without effort, and the last chest can be converted innto 6 free levels, though I’d advise other choices (laurels 20?).

That is a LOT of XP for allmost no cost….

For the ppl with fat wallets:
Then you have (improved xp boosters (100%)(forged from 5! normal xp boosters)), xp boosters (50%),kill-streak boosters (up to 100% as long as you can kill stuf fast ), laureate xp boosters (1 laurel, 30%,) celebration boosters (birthday boosters) (100%, daily reward track, even though they last only an hour they will double xp birthday boosters will run 24 hrs) AND ,most of these stack WITH EACHOTHER AND FOOD as well!

You can get up to 300%+ xp from kills this way 400%+ with full kill streak… which makes levelling a breeze….. but it will cost you, AND you’re commited! even though your boosts will remain when you log out (this is using the menu, not just alt+F4 it) I’d suggest you finish the time remaining.

I prefer to be helpfull, and I accept people need to learn but there are limits. I did a nice l80 EXP full run of AC yesterday and got 3 ppl having less then 1200AP safe to say 2 didn’t know AC at all. I stayed and the other high lkevel guy said to me, i’ll stay when you stay, we’ll duo carry. And he got a guard, me being ele. In effect we used all tricks in teh book to get them trhough, 2 were nakedon the end of p2 due to stupidities in running, which they never did. they wanted to fight everything. We told them they should follow us. And in the end we made 3 paths and we took 60 minutes. Instead of 25-35, no leavers and personal thank you’s form all 3 starters for not kicking them, we ttold them they should practice some more, but they had seen how to do AC now.

It was a good eperience.

Today I did cof 1 and 2 with 2 noob rangers and a noob guardian. I died 3 times on a zerk warrior before I got fed up and swtched to hammer & axe/mace semi bunker. it was disheartening, forcefiring 4 with every recherge, continously camping bows… the guard standing with a scepter only spamming 1 and a second fighting for his life in melee with my warrior…. I had a serious look back into the past, like 2+ years ago when this happenend in dungeons as a normal procedure…

Experienced party and entering with 800 AP and wiping -every- boss AND skip frustrates me. I do not kick out of principle and almost never ragequit… but there are limits…

3 days ago we were running AC with 4 ppl above 12k AP and a guy enetered and said: “WoW, so much AP” and he died 10 times finishing in his underwear with boots gloves and a helmet. after the first 2 downs we stopped ressing. We saw his armor and it was levelling gear, with 2 exotics, from the story line…. SKINNED with a gem store set.
We try to keep ppl alive but when they break stack they die, especially when wearing toughness.,.. I cannot go out and res him between a couple dozen of gravelings,.

Need more dodge, higher threat on tanks.

in Guild Wars 2 Discussion

PaxTheGreatOne.9472

It depends on location, but due to dodges people come closer to the boss sometimes then you are. Also high toughness sometimes is a way to grab aggro, and of course being the first to initiate combat.

Then again you do not need tanks in Gw2, due to the fact you can dodge and in experienced groups not having any dps output due to low crit’s/ low power could lead to a very fast unvolountary exit from dungeons.

For added dodges use either food
(Orrian Meat and Truffle Stew ( [&AgHIMAAA] for +40% endurance regen and might on dodge )
OR Vigor (Endurance regeneration increased by 100%; stacks duration) from skills/traits.

poison change

Poison:
Deals damage every second; heal potency decreased by 33%; stacks duration.

Poison is a condition that inflicts damage over time and stacks in duration. However, there is a cap at 9 stacks for this condition, meaning that the duration for this condition will only be increased by the first 9 sources that apply it, and all stacks that would normally increase the duration beyond the first 9 stacks will be ignored. Once the duration from the first application of poison has run out, another stack can be applied, further increasing the duration of poison. Characters suffering from poison appear green tinted. Damage is determined by the following formula:

4 + Level + (0.1 * Condition Damage) per second
84 + (0.1 * Condition Damage) per second at Level 80

Crafting & asc gear too expensive for newbs?

PaxTheGreatOne.9472

A) proper might stacking in the team
B) proper build, traits and positioning
C) using the appropriate sigils and potions for the content you are doing

All of the above will result in far more damage (or defense) than a 2-4%
So the actual change to Ascended armor for that extra 2-4% is only worth it if you have everything else already. It’s the very last thing on the list..

This is not comparable, and even if it was, this is only your opinion. You can have all together and you can get them in the order you want.

you’d get +5% weapondmg from the weapon (not +5% dmg as damage also scales with power

wiki:

Damage done = (Weapon strength) * Power * (skill-specific coefficient) / (target’s Armor)

So +5% weapondmg = +5% dmg (sharp)

But you also have the power increase:

wiki:

Damage done = (Weapon strength) * Power * (skill-specific coefficient) / (target’s Armor)

power increase is increased as well…. by 5% when wearing full asc. but you should keep base in mind., you’ll also get 1-2% crit chance and a flat 5% buff on ferocity points.
so you’ll get (1.05 (=asc mod) * Weapon strength(=exotic) * (((Power-926(=old exotic stats-base)) * 1.05 (=asc mod) + 926 (+base))

for an ~ 5
5(no power) – 8.5 (max power) % increase in dmg value.

I feel for the original poster as in effect the others stole the path. and his bonus.

All people here saying he isn’t entitled are pompous trolls and should think what would happen if they got kicked from a dungeon path at the end boss. especially after a solo or duo run.

Have fun, and no I do not use path sellers, sometimes act as filler, and I do no sell paths either. As a filler I sometimes get a gold, or get a path bonus, but most of the times I’m invited into a path join and am asked to leave a couple of minutes later.

you’d get +5% weapondmg from the weapon (not +5% dmg as damage also scales with power)
you’d get +5% armorrating from the armor( not +5% armor as total armor also includes toughness)
from the complete ascended set you’ll get +5% stats, compared to the same sets stats, unbuffed values will not rise.

depending on the chosen statset this also means damage could be 1.05*1.05 higher for a total increase of 10.25%, it could also mean an armor value could be10% higher…
The loser here would be condition dmg as the maximum will only rise 5%no matter what due to the fact conditions only scale with condition dmg…

You have to remember that 5% boost in stats compared to exotic level doesn’t mean you now have 105% of your old power, precision and ferocity.

You are correct as the base power and precision isn’t taken into the consideration. My mistake.

When fighting with conditions the destruction of the healing capability is essential. In fact while fighting with DPS the added functionality of healing reduction could also benefit you a lot…. and you will not bunker as all conditions fully ignore armor. They are hardcounter vs tank(y/s)

Full ascended, even with 0 infusions, is still more than a 10% increase in damage compared to full exotic.

But most of that is from weapons and jewlery. Armor gives by far the least damage,
it mostly gives you that +5% armor .. but we all know how much berserker players
care about armor.

And jewlery also is the only part that keeps that damage boost when downscaled
below level 80.

you’d get +5% weapondmg from the weapon (not +5% dmg as damage also scales with power)
you’d get +5% armorrating from the armor( not +5% armor as total armor also includes toughness)

I generally ignore what guilds say. If they are too annoying I will even tag up to attract more randoms and put the wrong combo fields down.
Its an open world map, you can go wherever you want at any time you want. If they become abusive report+block them.

Aw, get buttthurt because they don’t want you so you try to sabotage them? I bet you just ooze skill out of every orifice. I will never understand people who are against organization. You ever think about just asking to get on comms with them? Do something useful, don’t just play against them.

Guild groups are a waste of slots on map. Most of them dont scout or defend anything.
They only look for fights to farm some worthless bags or kill count they could get faster in obsidian sanctum farm.

As your are and experienced player I could say I’ll let you walk away from this post… BUT… I cannot.

Most guild raids are for 3 reasons:

  1. Teaching, which I really encourage
  2. (Hardcore) guild raids, They will cap and come to defend, but their focus is fighting other (Hardcore) guilds preferably bigger size… it is generally about tactics and improving commanders. in the end being again a teaching run but not for the follwers but the leaders/ and coordinated classes.
  3. GvG Guild vs Guild wich is an actual waste of slots in primetime but when the server you are on is running a decent amount of points ahead it doesn’t really matter. You can be very poisenous against a guild doing GvG but if your server is 20k or more ahead it’s a waste of breath, and by far not socially accepted behaviour, and it will get you blocked by people who will never ever come to support or defend for you as they will no longer notice you in chat making your appearance on WvW completely useless. Also know some if not all people playing HC GvG are in 3 or more high/HC level WvW guilds, and generally the first people to block you are the commanders of guilds who are mostly primetime commanders. Oh and GvG guilds do not cap anything, until their fights are over, They might come to defend depending on the guild. On a certain servers all Guilds agreed to defend max upgrades at all costs, and under any circumstances. Goal is to learn new tactics and strategy. from other (HC) WvW guilds. in the end strengthening the server. fighting 20 vs 20 12 times in 60 minutes guivesyou 240 kill maximum, but generally you’ll tag way less, and it should be 50-50 so in the end if you would be lucky you’d be looking at 40-50 drops, half of them bags, about the same as surviving 1 big blob vs blob fest in 10 minutes..

So Malediktus, please, do yourself and others on your server a favor and let then play how they want. And you play how you want. And if you’d be worried they get drops and you get nothing: go join the map blob, they’ll get way more drops.

The game isn’t optimized……… It’s not likely your fault.

Well, we can fight 80 vs 80 vs 80 in wvw and still not crash, but engine gets strained under the load somtimes not allowing complex actions anymore but the interactions of mostly 3- 5 ppl hitting skills from 240 ppl at once amounts to 750-1200 dmg requests every few tenth of a second… same with buffs and conditions…this is a HUGE amoutn of dmg to process. especially considering most requests are sent with ping and need to be calculated in 250 ms… AND sent back… and dodges, might and fury need to be taken into consideration, res banners and so on…

This game works quite well tbh. just think about this amount of data

I have 2 ascended armors for my S/S war 1 older Rabid and a newer Sinister and a full light zealot for a Necro. the necro I use in WvW and I noticed the 5% difference i stats, the warrior is for Fractals and wvw scouting for fractals I do not notice the difference and in wvw I last a bit longer….

Regarding my mains, having 8 I all bought then ascended weapons, except 2, due to the fact I swap weapons and gear way to often, but I started gearing my alts in ascended weapons as well, all except 3 have ascended trinkets….

The zealot (keeper) armor was 500+ gold +350 gold for the recipe’s, just so you know.

6000 hours played. I have ~12 more chars to go, 13 if you count in the revenant…

Trust me it is not needed for a starter until he is above rank 230 in WVW on a t1,2,3 server, or above rank 39 in fractals or unless he has some OCD regarding maxing out gaming chars.

First work on trinkets and weapons, which could be done in 2-3 months if you are a true fanatic and then take the next part of the first year to figure out if this is the character you want armor on, and try out some other classes…

Tthen make your decision: you could have easiliy earned enough mats to go a long way. you could have enough to craft your pieces instantlty….

Makes me laugh when players say ascended are not worth it. I like the spreadsheet this guy made.

MMO’s have trained us all to be MIN/MAXers. That 2-4% i gain from ascended armor/infusions is more then enough to make it worth it.

Decent infusions are 35-70+ gold each (need 8 expensive ones) depending if they need to be normal or omni, this in addition to your 275-425 gold armor, making your 2-4% cost 1000+ gold.

I rather have the ppl buy a second ascended weapon for dungeons and fit it with night and force (AC,TA,CoF,SE,CoE) or force and undead(Orr, Arah) next to their normal GS’s gain 15%-25% dmg for 40 gold each spend.

min maxing is not useful in 90-95%+ of -present- Tyria, and a 1000 gold will allow for ascended weapons on 5 or 6 characters for basic sets….

ascended armor has use in t1(,2,3) wvw servers and in lvl39+ fractals maybe…

ascended weapons and trinkets only matter in l80 content.

in all content lower rank armor (exotics) will suffice… most content can be done wearing Rare armors,…

stats are capped:
till level 29 everything is downscaled to masterwork
till level 44 everything is downscaled to rare
till level 59 everything is downscaled to “unknown”
till level 79 everything is downscaled to exotic
lvl 80 ascended present area’s:
WvW: BL’s,EBG,EotM,
PvE: Cursed Shore ,Southsun Cove,Dry Top, Silverwastes, small area’s of Frostgorge & Malchor’s Leap
Dungeons: Arah(all), HotW (expl.), CoE (expl.)

All other content will make asc and exotic effectively the same

you can get crafting up to lvl 80 for a decent price with regard to jeweler, cook and all weapon crafting professions, all armor crafters(tailor, leatherworker and actual armorsmith) are more expensive due to the need for t2,3,4,5 cloth. But while being lvl 17+-lvl 63 you’ll get way more wool/cotton/linnen…, if you salvage, and you can level crafting those proffessions quite cheap….

Go back to WoW then. We certainly won’t miss you on the forum.

Be nice! You cannot flame somone for wanting to sit, hours on end, next to a water and get a fish now and then? Well He will just be partof the scenery… My guess my charr will prefer barehand fishing or maybe will steal a net turret from a freshly killed roaming engi…

Fishing rod ha….. never, or…..

And we are glad not to need mounts, as the Asura Waypoint Network and Portals are a faster and more convinient way of travel…. you can get nearly everywhere without delays.

(And the instant people need to run a bit due to time gate and or reset options some people start whining about mounts instantly…. which will never happen UNLESS they are availabe to everybody , not a gemstore item, and do not give advantages)

Why i very lag and delay?

PaxTheGreatOne.9472

you lag and delay cause -a- connection pulls all others down, wether it is:
WiFi use wires where possible for a more stable connection, if you live in a house with 5 cellphones and 3 tablets and a laptop for gaming all on wifi you are having problems, even using multiband.
local internet congestion a lot of people might share your broadband connection or the cable providing the internet connection.
modem firmware/systemupdates?, maybe just turn your modem off 1min and on again can help, wait until it comes online again and retry?
ISP (internet service provider), maybe another provider will benefit your connection speed
Backbone, Doubtfull but damage/maintainance or low prioirty traffic can be delayed.
server congestion, server bandwith well weekends and primetime suck as fare as GW2 goes.
computer load/lag you could be owning a PC sharing a PC with a huge amount of programs in memory, virusscanner(s) and who knows how many resident programs will slow pc’s
minimum spec computer , or you want to much (maybe your videosolution isn’t up to spec..)

unknowable since no one besides ANET has access to data. If you are worried just starting the game that there are not enough players around you, don’t be. You down-level so the early zones can be more popular than mid and late, but you still see people in the least likely areas.

Down-level?

Downscaled… I’m not going there with puns.

The heart of thorns and the living world season 2 areboth paid expansiions, normal living word expansions are FREE for the 2 weeks they air, after this time they’ll cost a small ingame fee 200 gems (2euro50) or ~20 gold (ingame cash, can be converted to cash shop gems.) 20 gold is roughly 2 days worth of income when playing standard dungeons or 2-4 hours of sw farm @l80. Just know you start doing content but you’ll be able to return to those areas and repeat or complete wwhenever you want. You’ll find quite some ppl doing map completion in low level area’s, you’ll share mining nodes, kills and experience,
Kill stealing is impossible, but lvl 80’s will do quite a lot more dmg to low level critters, evev tough they are downscaled.

Tyria is only one world among many in the Mists. It is a very large world, but history has only chronicled events that have taken place on three major continents; these continents are Tyria (named for the world), Cantha, and Elona.

The fact content was removed is a waste,a waste of player timeand effort, a waste o programmer time and the NPE has been toxic. It drove of quite a lot of ppl due to them no caring to make another alt.

I do think the reward for the levelling and story improved but all other changes should still be binned and returned to the old system….

Fresh level 80 necro . . . now what?

in Players Helping Players

Posted by: PaxTheGreatOne.9472

PaxTheGreatOne.9472

Just to say it, I have 3 necro’s on 15 characters.

I run a zerk (scholar/strength) DS well bomber (6/2/0/0/6) d/f & a/w will do very good dps, if people do not mind me in dungeons and which sometimes gets retraited to terror hybrid (sinister (and sometimes 2 dire/rabid rings) 2/4/4/0/4) D/D & Stff works very well in SW Red Bastion or as a hybrid roamer in WvW. The fact it uses both dps and conditions tends to confuse ppl… leaving me good damage and a healthy amount of bags.

I run a zealot (pack or dwayna) (in wvw clerics earrings and amulet, else/others zerk) WvW well/transfusion support build (3/0/5/6/0 or 3/2/5/4) d/f & stff It has a secondary armor(s) (zerk/pack), and clerics (dwayna)… which is mostly a support tank, like guards, but without stability and reflects. Ppl frown upon it but I seem to last way longer then most of our guild nowadays….) with full (WVW) buffs (including the stacking buffs from wvw levels I get to 3000 power and ~48% crit with 1000+ healing.

I run a rabid (undead/krait/sunless) terror mancer. Most often in WvW…(0/6/4/0/4) sc/d & staff
It is the build -most hated- in EotM, though I’m not really working on terrorwalling ppl into the depths. (mind you with terror you tag them, and if lucky you’ll get 25-50 bags in seconds, just hope you can pick ’m up I prefer BL and EBG roaming.

Well, berserker and scholar are for a DPS build….

When you look at builds for necro you can splice ’m apart
Generally you see a limited amount of builds but there are a lot of builds posssible and viable for PvE and WvW, though some require builds which are not recommended for PvE dungeons due to condition usage, but this could change in the future. what you play is your choice and we can only give suggestions. I will refrain from suggestions but restructure the information:

Builds are either:

Power based:

  1. DPS based on berzerk/assassin (dagger or axe, warhorn) (META)
  2. Support: based on zerk, zealot/clerics/celestial (staff and dagger/focus)
  3. Minion: based on berzerk, zealot assassin (staff or axe/warhorn)
  4. Vampiric power: based on berzerk, zealots assassin (dagger, axe)
  5. AOE bomber based on berzerk/assassin (staff)

Condition based: (scepter/dagger and staff)

  1. Terrormancer Based on rabid, dire, sinister, rampager, carrion
  2. Ep(idem)ic Condimancer based on rabid, dire, sinister, rampager, carrion
  3. Condi support based on Apothecary/Shaman (very niche)

Hybrids, builds mixing 2 or more builds for a specific goal…
As the possibilities are huge I will not provide specific builds…

Fast few basic trait lines:

  1. Power 6/2/0/0/6 (VI,?,XI;VI;-;-;II,VI,XII) (META)
  2. Terror (power) 2/4/4/0/4 (VI;VI,IX;IV,VIII;-;VI,IX(or II/III)
  3. Support 3/0/5/6/0 (III;-;IV,VII;III,VI,VIII;-)
  4. Condition 2/6/4/2/0 (III;II,VII,XI;V,VII;III)
  5. Terror (condi): 0/6/4/0/4 (-;II,IX,XI;V,VIII;IV,IX)
  6. Survivor DS 2/2/6/0/4 (VI,;VI;IV,VI,XIII;-;II,VI)

I do not use a minion master build as minions are unwanted in dungeons, die way to fast in WVW and at world bosses. but it is very fun to level using minions. And a standoff build (axe/staff) can be very fun….

I make typo’s always check before you buy a trait and make sure it does what you expect. And guides should make you think: Why?, not just be there to copy.

I purposely left skills out of this guide. if you have skills you like try to find a matching build/traits or if you fancy a build try to add skills as you see fit.
In dungeons and WvW you’ll learn you need to swith to adapt, not just be a Meta Battle CopyClone.

Have fun playing necro. I hope you can view this and see further then just zerk.

The following post isn’t complete but contains a restructured list of some traits often used in PvE and WvW. I have no clue whatsoever which traits are used in PvP, I generall use my WvW support build there…

-edit- removed dozens of errors/typos

Having 15 characters and 8 times world completion I must say there are only few places I haven’t been…. I love secret corners like the strawberry farm or the turkey room.

If you do not run meta…. Well not dungeon meta, I guess you might be running exploration and discovery meta… It fits well in the huge list we already have.

DPS builds for dungeons, fractals, open world bosses, specialized builds for world bosses, wvw support, roaming, condi, zerg, healing builds, pvp meta…. I think there is planty of space for 1 or a few more.

I think exploring builds is also a part of exploring the world.

I play builds cause I like them OR because they are effective or both Or because I have a specific wish, I remember my mace/mace, hammer weakness cc build…. bola, fear me!, kick, rampage……

It works very well against igniters, each time they open up you shut’m down, unfortunately it leaves only 1 fight in cof …. or shaman ardureus the guild mission bounty…

Enjoy sightseeing.

being good at the things you described are still based on
knowledge
experience
reaction

i dont think anything can be based on anything else
though i will say the reaction facet of GW2, via the current meta is generally not as important, anttack, when it is, its mostly one dimensional. You may have to react to one attack, but seldom to any tactical changes

Communication(s) will make:
knowledge& experience less important.

And reaction is something you have or not….

So TS for the win?

Also seeing the previous post, Some people just play for the challenge, I presonally play because I want to play, with any challenge as a bonus. I do not like fractals above 39 TBH. I like some return tbh, I like alt-ing so I need gold. I do not live for speedruns, I just want a decent ran dungeon

I think you will find many people have tried these other stats
pug meta only has one guard (not 2).
The skill co-ordination is much higher than spam all buttons
The fact is there is a massive time differential between average pug run (which is generally using meta builds – eg some form of zerker) and co-ordinated experienced guild runs. Many record runs include 0 guardians as the team understand the fights fully and can dodge/mitigate dmg in a good RNG run.

Dungeons were designed to be a test of good co-ordinated skill from people playing together in a team composition. Synergy is everything to getting a smooth and decent time
Dungeons are already hard for many people – individuals moving from open world events (1 in 60 person zerg) to a 5 man instanced content means there is already a different focus on what they do is more important to the overall outcome.

I really love the fact you want people to bring content for the few elite players who skip everything. conform elite player focus it coiuld be simple: A white cilinder with 5 bosses would be enough. placing them just outside aggro-range from eachother would save them the effort of running. else they’ll need a portalling mesmer to save them the time.

You should know there is a difference between :

  1. The pug who doesn’t know (newb, ppl who couldn’t care)
  2. The zerker wannabee (noob, who doesn’t want to learn)
  3. The pug who does know (people who are experienced in the game and know the game mechanics but not the ideal dungeon patterns
  4. The pug dungeon experts (people who frequented their dungeons of choice often and know the sequences. (often former dungeon guild runners)
  5. Zerk meta “dungeon master” Pug
  6. Dungeon guild
  7. the GUILD speedrunners (the people who keep on experimenting with 1 or a few dungeon paths for record runs.) with TS and group experience

And their dmg scales likewise

  1. No stacks, own casual builds, no gear. DPS? Survivability? no food
  2. Sometimes stacks, got a build, partial gear. high DPS, no survivability, no food
  3. Sometimes stacks, got a build and sometimes gear high dps dps, good or high survivability. Experience, FOOD (dungeon weapons)
  4. Stacks, got a or the builds and gear can be anything, but is DPS related, skills generally switched and focussed: high dps, high survivability. Experience, FOOD, dungeon weapons
  5. Stacks, got the builds and the gear, skills are changed very high dps, high survivability.(experience), FOOD, dungeon weapons DPS very high, survivability variable
  6. Stacks, got the builds and the gear, skills are changed very high dps, high survivability. FOOD communications. experience, dungeon weapons, should not die, very-über high dps
  7. Everything, including a study on the most efficient pattern, sometimes these runs are planned weeks ahead… hardcore. All gear is tested, as are CD checks, build changes and weapon swaps. DPS is over the top, no counter DPS 100% block or blind and ofcourse using communications makes this easier, and we luckily only see the succesfull attempts, in a botched run they’d survive as well ofcourse….

How should the Pug casuals and the guild speedrunners share dungeons? I understand there is a difference in paths, And I personally suck at CM as I do not like it, but 3 min 27 is very fast. But now I would like them all 5 to get 4 pugs and all set the same record. Without practice, they could use food, np and they could use stacking, stacks, and even mesmer portals. I doubt they’d make 5 min, even 8-10 minutes would be difficult. This as the most efficient way of sdoing things and the easiest “pugable” way tends to to differ, mostly due to lack of communications in the pug runs.

Also guild solutions in AC will lead to strange things: in AC p2 , where (in general) all PUGs stack close to the traps, dungeon guilds often stack above champion spawn, leading to a completely different dungeon approach, at ;least for that minor encounter,

Pug meta is rediculous. you can wait a long time for a pick-up-group at times, any group composition will do as long as ppl know what they should do.

I personally prefer 1-2 e,1w,1g,1t,(1m) but I’ll run with all squishies as wel.. or any other group. The fact it is doable without problems makes you good, not the reliance on all the possible benefitsa and tuning you can cram into the group,. as it inheritly shows reliance. Reliance = bad.

I know how to use 6 classes in dungeon: as my mesmer is full condi and my engineer was deleted 6 months ago.

I know the differences between casual dungeons , good dungeon and dungeon guilds.
They are uncomparable. problem is each day ppl start. There is no training pattern in dungeons IMHO. Any training comes from practice, most from open dungeon groups.

Oh and I ’s love a guess %-age estimate on the 7 catagories above!

Increased Bleeding Stacks

in Guild Wars 2: Heart of Thorns

Posted by: PaxTheGreatOne.9472

PaxTheGreatOne.9472

Why are people afraid that this will break in PvP when it will never get to 25 stacks much less above that?

well the only way would be to have epidemic necro’;s stack 25 bleeds , epidemic, then target next epidemic, eopidemic, epidemic, but interestingly enough I doubt anyone would live very long with 25 stacks, which is already easily obtainable, 50 would be insta kill: so above 50 is useless effort..

I really do not think it would break much, only S/S warrior wouldn’t overwrite it’s own stacks upon flurry… maybe achieving 30 stacks…for 2 seconds, maybe 4…

and IMHO it wouldnt’; break PvP but it would repair PvE, bigtime.

It is simple, you run in and smash their faces in and run on to the next, dps is 30% lower
but you do not dodge, you just kill stiff, use 1 healing build and walk on. bashing faces in, you can just GS and axe mace, and 1 guard with mace focus and staff. walk on and bash faces in… you could take a zerk ele, use 2 guards to keep it alive, 1 warrior to buf and at final boss just be a bit carefull and guess what styand there and bash faces in. as long as you do not get conditions you have no problemns at all: GG.
you lost maybe a minute on zerker builds had no risk whatsoever and it was just standing there and mashing buttons. even the wrong ones do not kill you as long as you do not press 6 with warrior,

Mounts [merged]

Waypoints should be in the major population centers and nowhere else. Waypoints have made the game world feel small. Waypoints have made exploration an exercise in moot-ality (take that, English language!), even in the unreleased new zones, because wherever we go, the waypoint installers have already been there. And on top of that, the waypoint installers are a bunch of jerks, because they they’re all like, hey, there’s this waypoint over there where you want to go that’s been part of our network of waypoints for like forever, but you can’t use it until you ‘discover’ it, bwahaha.

Who installs these things, anyway? It’s a sure bet they’re the ones keeping us from having proper mounts!

Wait…. waypoints make the world feel small….

Yet, people want mounts with speed boosts because otherwise its too tedious to get around?

Think that one through for a bit….

I have thought it through. Now you try it!

Waypoint = instantly there! Well, depending on your PC, you may be looking at a loading screen for several seconds… but that’s beside the point. Ahem.

Mount, even speed-boosted = travel the countryside! See the scenery! Enjoy the fresh air and monsters!

Mounts make the world seem small too, regardless of having the ability to “see” the countryside and monsters because people don’t pay any attention to them. They just run right one through. Go take a gander at WoW and tell me people pay freaking attention. They don’t.

The only difference is how much time is wasted getting from point A to point B.

People run right on through even without mounts. I know I do! I’m like, go away, stupid monster, I’m in too much of a hurry to mess around with you! If I had a mount I’d be all like, go away, stupid monster, I’m in too much of a hurry and I look too darn cool on this way cool mount to mess around with you! Especially if it was a skale. I hate those things. So annoying.

Of course, the smarter monsters would have hard to see wires and stuff strung up at a rider’s neck height to catch unwary riders and make them fall down and go boom. They might even have mounts, too. Imagine a centaur riding in a chariot drawn by speed-boosted skale. /e shudder.

Plus anet could have people optionally working on getting ascended wisps, picks, currycombs for their mounts, as well as saddles, stirrups, bridles, halters, reins, bits, harnesses, martingales, and breastplates, among other things.

Still saying neigh to mounts?

Yes I say NO!

Still no Think I’m in this thread 50 times now,… well make that 51 ….

I’m actually confused as to why Mounts haven’t been implemented yet.

We’ll implemented proper anyway we have the Flying,Carpet, Drill, and Magic Broom all of which are Cash Shop items and they’d make a killing if they added a Cash Shop Horse for instance in the same guise as the others. Mounts are mainly a cosmetic choice for instance WoW has hundreds of Mounts but the speed is still the same speed regardless. They can even make them unusable in towns for all I care.

Basic point they already have mini mounts in the cash shop and if they implement real mounts they’d just be primarily cash shop items. So that’s a guaranteed revenue stream even more so from loot crazed collectors.

If they would be faster then players it would be pay 2 win.
Even if you’d pay cash to use them.

It would be simpole if they mount would go 34% speed ppl will kill the idea and you’ll get a mount wich will be stripped of the speedbonus, either being set to 25% or less (read 0%, oh: probably less as as some professions DO NOT have a 25% speedbuff.)

this thing also means: NO COMBAT, NO MOVEMENT BONUS, NO NOTHING! unless it’s easily aquired. so everybody should get one. also removing the “special feel”

Making MOUNTS in GW2: USELESS!

Still no Think I’m in this thread 50 times now,…

Lock cursor while windowed

well I play windowed full screen so I can use internet/ TS or other apps on the 2nd screen. I would prefer the window open so I can transfer to my second screen when I want to.

You should be able to see your second screen in the windows when running full screen at native resolutions, but not being able to use it mean alt tabbing anyways.or at least get something to make sure we have the present behaviour…

I would really hate to have the mouse “locked” in the window…. cause it will no longer allow me to do what I want.. at the same time while playing gw2. even buying gems would be a pain, switching screens over and over again…

If you really need that border I’d still suggest you run full screen.

If you cannot control where it goes…. why do other things?
