Players coming to "help" you

I think I agree with a lot of people on the fact you should use your own instance.

  • Make a lvl 100 (cm) instance and go kill MAMA (combat testing) or find another boss you like in any instance. (fractals/raids/dungeons/story)
  • Make a dungeon instance and clear it (sustain testing)
  • Go to the Golem in the aerodrome practice instance and go kill it (rotation perfection)

In all cases if you are in PvE and someone comes along. suck it up. People are doing completion for legendaries, are levelling their elite specs or are just interested in the map tokens. There are way more reasons “to jump in and kill it” then wanting you hampered in finetuning your build. I know players who would jump in because you said they shouldn’t. They might be wondering why can’t I kill it? Maybe nice rewards? Maybe a special thing? Their curiosity might easily be the reason you hamper yourself by telling them not to disturb. And there are people who think it’s not your place to tell them to “go and do something else”.

honestly if I was told off or asked to wait I would likely ignore your request, my time and progression has meaning for me as well. this goes for nearly all player you see. Else they wouldn’t be playing the game…

There are some really remote bosses and most people really hate ‘m. But even there people need to kill the boss for legendaries or HP’s

How's the game now?

So…

You left after HoT.

So for PvE:

  • So you missed LS S3. The LS S3 is seen as one of the better, if not the best Living story season yet with acces to 5 new maps (soon to be 6), ascended trinkets/backs with HoT stats as farmable map rewards.
  • In the mean time GW2: -fill in Expansion 2 name here- is due to arive at the end of the year, more details will follow with LW S3: E6.
  • You likely missed the Caladbolg mini quest, giving acces to a nearly free ascneded weapon (swords/GS/dagger/scepter/shield) it can be resetted for a minor fee, and swapped around, rest is cheap, HoT stats available .

So for Instanced PvE:

  • Raids now have 4 wings with 13 bosses… Legendary armor is finished. Wing 4 has bosses with Challenge Modes. added legendary armors can be bought for 25 Li/ precursor part and the normal cost to upgrade it so 50 LI will buy you another legendary part after the 1st armor.
  • Fractals has seen the introduction of ‘Nightmare’ and ‘Chaos’ fractal. Lvl 100 Nightmare Challenge Mode was introduced (Mai Trin was demoted to 98)
  • Dungeons: the dungeon frequenter box makes dungeons provided you run 8 paths a day/ 2days about as rewarding as before HoT. The knowledge about speedruns is gone however and runs with low levels are more rule then exception. LFG user knowledge and ettiquette seems at an all time low. Rewards are still interesting as lower level mats do drop and some are becoming increasingly rare.

So for PvP:

  • PvP is no longer an E-sport, It has however gotten an automated tournament system and a new hub. Balance patches have made some difference.

So for WvW:

  • WvW was overhauled, you can now get ascneded armor in WvW, like the ways you can purchase it in PvP and Fractals, WvW has it’s own skins.
  • A new legendary backpackwas introduced (Warbringer) as was done in PvP and fractals before.

General opinion:

  • All gamemodes saw improvements
  • LS Season 3 was a must-play to me.
  • Raids although difficult to get into are pretty manageable
  • Fractals is okay as is.
    • WvW feels more rewarding
  • PvP seems more imnteresting, but I rarely play PvP

Daily/Monthly AP Cap Removal

in Guild Wars 2 Discussion

Posted by: PaxTheGreatOne.9472

PaxTheGreatOne.9472

AP is overrated and it’s used as a tool by elitists to judge newbies. The cap should stay and it shouldn’t be visible to other people.

I’d like to adjust some things in your opinion.

AP is overrated and it’s used as a tool by elitists uninformed idiots to judge newbies the qualities of seemingly starting accounts. The cap should stay and it shouldn’t be visible to other people. The cap is pointless and cannot ber used any longer to verify the skill of players.

Why?:

  • We had people hit 15k+ AP after 1 year. Top players at tihe time of posting are very close to 35k AP
  • We have a lot of people are fully commited to their casual thing and are at 8-20k Ap after 3-5 yrs
  • I noticed a lot of new players go for it and they have both ascended gear and a decent understanding of (their) classes in 2 months, reaching 1.5-2.5k AP easily in that time.
  • I myself have a 1.5k secondary account with 2 characters 1 in exotic viper’s armor with ascneded weapons and trinkets and the other in full exotics, with ugly skins and no dyes. I however have 28+K AP on my primary account, and probably a better understanding of classes then a lot of other higher level single character/class accounts, casual accounts and starters.
  • This said high AP ‘casuals’, sometimes even started at headstart, might or might not have ascneded gear, and sometimes are still using useless (exotic) mixed gear with no real knowledge about runes and sigils, builds or rotations…..

A single note regarding how elitists judge others: It’s called a DPS meter. You have 2 users of these:

  1. The high end player (a.k.a. Elite/ Leet/ 1337 Player) who uses it to reflect on self and group and suggest solutions.
(this person sees resses, heals and accounts for DPS loss due to mechanics)
  2. The Elitist Wannabee who uses DPS meters solely to kick other players.
(this person justy kicks the lowest DPS providing character at a fail)

I have a friend who’s into world bosses, exploring, maybe some living world and some PvP, who only focusses on her PvP build and still used a mixed armor for PvE being at 10k AP in the 3+ years she played. The fact she is playing PvP means she has some knowledge of builds and such. She doesn’t do any instanced content however.

I also know a lot of players having a secondary account for raids/ fractals and laurels who have near legendary armor on bothaccounts and are at 2-4k AP, prmary accounts tend to be 10k+ AP, sometimes even 30k+…

Conclusion:
AP as a judge of acounts is useless, it had a small window when it was usable about 4,5 to 3 years ago, and lost all validity, especially without any visual inspection of characters (try to do this with outfits)…

The cap is no longer usefull and removes a feeling of accomplishment and continuity from people having reached the cap.

I use: F12, change character,
It works wonders on my 22 lvl 80’s

But on a brighter note;

  • I think ArenaNet will be working on a method of swapping traits,
Hopefully with build templates for easy sharing like GW1
  • I do not think it will be an gear/armor swap as well, though I could really appreciate not having to click all 14-16 items to swap a build

Many people have requested this for the past 5 years.
And hopefully they’ll implement it with “Guild Wars 2: – Fill in Expansion 2 name here-”

It might be neccesary to learn to sell your loot, instead of running on like a mad man. thinking this wil be the way to get rich..

So this is not about the loot, but you’re impatience and your unwillingness to adapt.
Having some down time to sell and just forging (*or selling the sigls and runes tends to cost 1 minute or less… with 140+ slots like on most of my characters. this is routine, due to durngo runs… I normally can run 2-3 dungeon paths and I ned to sell or I can salavge after each path. then I ne to clear junk afterward.

Most junk is the junk left over from sigils and runes from blues and greens whcih are now left over due to the change in salvage kits roughly 2 years ago.

What is up with crafting?

in Guild Wars 2: Heart of Thorns

Posted by: PaxTheGreatOne.9472

PaxTheGreatOne.9472

In my opinion deciding when to fight and when to avoid was the main thing I learned in HoT. Some fights are needed, so I commit and complete them, some miight be usefull, and I check risk vs rewards, and some are just plain dumb.. SO I skip’m or pass’m, avoid ’m ,stealth by ’m or any other solution I can think off.. My best friend in HoT maps became swiftness.. Whatever you do if you need to go somewhere 25% is basi, and 33% is preferable.

I finished elite specs on mesmer and thief before some of my more favorite classes, mostly cause the stealth/invisibility tends to be OP.

I ran 1 or 2 trinkets with toughenss on my most squishy classes or changed some traits to bunker ’m up.

Glass staff ele with a fire/lightning/arcane build is helpless in HoT, this said changing it in fire water earth was effective, and later fire water tempest proved a very worthwhile decision. I started using a speed buff, a cleanse/stunbreaker and I had a look at PvP and WvW builds to see where their sustain came from.

Then i got gliding 2 and most things faded into the background. after 3 mastery points I could navigate most places. Not being on the ground tends to make you pretty survivable…

I’m mastery level 186 now and have 22 characters with elite specs unlocked. and honestly I do not see why I had so many problems before.

The fact HoT mobs were nerfed 2 times (in beta and a couple of weeks after release might be of influence)

Oh and ascneded makes no difference. Just losing the mind set: “everything has to be done full glass in as little hits as possible” tends to be enough.

Understand the stuff you use has been crafted… or has a good chance it needed crafted materials… unless you are surviving fully on raid shards. (how did you get into gear for raiding?)

So in your opinion you should get 1 or 2 rare or exotic drops and nothing more?

That would kill the economy, kill the TP and reduce the percieved value of all skins. it would also kill crafting and the influx of new players as they cannot get stuff anymore to progress.. I doubt you see the problems.

Even just not receiving low level loot will drive prices up and make influx of new (casual) players problematic. The dungeoneers, raiders and the fractal runners will not have these problems. The rest of gw2 would not have drops or possibilities of progression.

You’ll end up with a problem: you have loot but no game to play.

I’m against the necro, but for the 2 last ppl replying:

You get low grade loot to salvage for materials. The materials are used to craft stuff… for your character, for t7 mats, for anything you can think off.

Getting 3 ecto’s from a boss will not allow me to keep crafting t7 mats, SO yes I’m happy I can salavege huge loot pools.

The fact you state it’s only about cash should make you think if you might be able to convert your huge stacks of garbage to valuable items and sell them, making more then just coppers…

The fact some cannot see the value in this shows some have no clue what is capable with inginuity and inventivness needed. This game is more then just stacking garbage for coppers. playing only part of it will make you lose out on many things.

Mounts [merged]

in Guild Wars 2 Discussion

Posted by: PaxTheGreatOne.9472

PaxTheGreatOne.9472

Understand: Mounts will likely never bring speedboosts and combat options if they’d be available ingame, they’ll likely not be like brooms and carpets either.

I think I would go to far when I would explain you exactly what we can expect after seeing the mount masteries (and their descriptions) that came with the leak.

So I think if you really want to spoil it for yourself, you should just use google and research it yourself.

I made it a habit not to believe hearsay and so-called leaked info.

In my opinion:
If the playability of the game deteriorates further due to to mounts you might be happy and playing with a small core of people who find their personal mount fantastic while the rest leaves due to inplayability issues, due to additional frame lag, or just a very small amount of people in map all because the instances have problems maintaining a big enough number of players.

Understand high end computers already have problems maintaining 60+ FPS in filled zones… when spread out….
If these people having the higher end gear leave due to mounts worsening the horrid engine performance, so will the game’s income vanish. If a person cannot afford a decent PC these persons combined will likely not gonna drop enough cash for gems to make this game survive.
No amount of polish could keep me watching a stuttering mess. Even if I have enjoyed playing this game for nearly 5 years. At least we’re past the 12 FPS WvW battles. I had a friend who had 2-7 FPS in WVW during zerg clashes and managed to get bronze general…

And this is not mount hate. It’s just a practical perspective. Understand it’s no problem to have mounts as transportation (that’s mount with you in it , moving through or something comparable) like I stated above, but I doubt doubling the amount of on screen things happening (read mount + characters) will help in this games performance as it stands now with the present engine.

The fact mini’s still need to be removed while they have only minimal interaction or animations will not bode well for the implementations of classical mounts with you riding ’m.

Unless this game’s main devs says: “We improved the engine so much we can now handle all mini’s, all mounts with added ppl in map from now on…” I really, really hope you are not right on mounts as I interpret how you’d want them…

As of now I STILL have not heard anything about a new or reworked engine being released so as it stands now the engine is still the one we started with, at least it is for me. Cause even if there are signs of an OpenGl driven engine (-thinks of Mac Client-), and maybe even a Vulkan or improved DirectX cause if An-Net is working on an engine and have reverse engineered it, improvements might have been made or being made as we speak. Which is also pure specualation…

This said I have no clue if the engine can be improved and if it is done what the new demands will be. If the game can get added power with a variable number of threads I’ll be happy. My pc needs ~30%-45% of system resources when I play Gw2, watch a movie, am browsing on internet, on voice, and making clips of gw2 at the same time.

This said I’ll return to the 1st point. Everything is still hearsay.

I have seen so many threads about HoT before anything became clear… I’m not going to be bothered with people reading stuff and expecting the precise things they want out of things others have problems voicing and writing down.

It’s way too early for the hype train. I took my bicycle and am slowly preparing, but not going all out in celebration of hearsay.

We’ll see in 3-4 months.. Until then it’s just a waste of time speculating. Fun maybe, but still a waste of time.

TL;DR: All specualtion, Doubt this will work on present engine, As long as we have no clues on engine or actual additions to the game: It’s to early to specualte or rejoice.
Hypetrain still at station, without coal or water. Machinist sleeping ,wagons house masiive spider infestation and junk from last hyperound has not yet been cleaned.

Suggestions I’ll make:

Why? -This would fit the MASTERY SYSTEM!

Yes, they can be considered mounts, but not everywhere and likely not for everyone
There is stilll a chance things might turn out Guild Wars style… and not what you expect from “conventional” MMORPG’s

I’m gonna wonder what would happen;

Will we get a:

Suggestion - dyable heavy legendary armor

Posted by: PaxTheGreatOne.9472

PaxTheGreatOne.9472

Well I’m maybe a loner in this but I’m happy we do not have all shadow abyss heavies…
The concept of making it black seems very emo to me as an old alternative 90’s music lover.

Shadow abyss needs to be there in the way you find it cause ppl have twilight and it should fit, at least in your concept. I find the fact I have legendary armor should stand out, and I prefer the shinyness. It can be matched to twilight, and have the effect of Twiligt highlited due to the fact your armor is metal and it will seem more alive and legendary instead of all black blobs with black aura’s (Poly-luminescent Undulating Refractor (Black)) and stuff… It was nice the 1st halloween they were around and it’s passé

I’d suggest you use midnight ice to dye your armor darker then shadow abyss… It was my experience it was darker. Making a legendary armor and just making it full black with no textures is horrid. Why bother wioth the legendary? And if you do not care about the exterior, just transmute it and make it completely look like a bird drowned in spilled oil.

I have not tried the glossy black as I do not own it.

I find the shinyness perfect, but then again I’m almost a Skritt

Suggestion - dyable heavy legendary armor

in Fractals, Dungeons & Raids

Posted by: PaxTheGreatOne.9472

PaxTheGreatOne.9472

I disagree on the armor being undyable

Then again I do not have much problems selecting dyes…

I noticed some dyes tend to saturate better. Especially those from the gems store sets. But in general do not seek out the dyes you want just go a couple of shades darker.

To go light blue with golden accents and purplish shinies I used:

  • Lapis (97 gold)
  • Gold Fusion (280 gold)
  • Bloodstone Violet (220 gold)

If you can afford a 2400 gold armor, why care about 600 gold for dyes?

Oh I can try out some dyes.. I’m missing 23…

Gw2 efficiency stated something:
“your dyes are worth 11k gold the last 23 still take 3750 gold to complete.”

Just so you know some choices can be a real expensive thing… And the “normal dyes” can be bought all 382 or so for hundred gold.

All fine dyes (181) are worth 2 gold 37.
All masterwork dyes (119) are worth 16 gold 65
All rare dyes not from TP (82) are worth 76 gold 84

The rest (127) are dyes from the black lion packages
and cost 14764 gold 77 s (so 116g 25s on average.)

Will ArenNet Ever Optimize This Game?

in Guild Wars 2 Discussion

Posted by: PaxTheGreatOne.9472

PaxTheGreatOne.9472

A-net is working on the expansion., if they improve CPU load spreading and a fatter graphics pipeline it might be nice, but I’m afraid many things have to do with the Network and the amount of data needing to be send to players.

2 ppl standing in an simple area in PvE with no or a few enemies: Sending game info of 2 ppl fighting requires locatons of both and damage values and skill use of both send to both… in 1 time unit

  • Sending game info of 240 ppl fighting in WVW zergvszerg vs zerg requires locations of 240 ppl and dmg values and skill use of 240 ppl send to 240 ppl. Still in 1 timeunit….
  • If there are a lot of instances on a server this will quickly stack load.
This issue also causes significant higher load with new content.

These 2 things are the main points in the present bottleneck

This engine is:

  1. extremely CPU bound OC-ing yor CPU will result in added FPS
OC-ing my 3.2Ghz CPU to 4.01ghz gives me nearly 24% added fps.
  2. is pretty independent of GPU performance. Cap lies with data and CPU only reason why you want 2 GTX 1080’s for gw2 is to run this on 3 4k screens, but how good or bad you GPU is doesn’t really affect framerate.
OC-ing My Gpu’s has no use. no additionla frames. And Old issue was the downthrottling of GPU’s bus speeds while playing this game.
  3. using a limited amount of cores 2 will run the game 4 is sufficent
  4. memory hungry the 64 bit version uses more then 4GB of ram
  5. extremely affected by the number of players shown in the map
  6. also heavily affected by particle effects and combat animations, but this is not due to GPU problems, it seems to be mostly due to limits in the CPU able to receive network data to allow parsing to the GPU

So if you need a new PC CPU CORE instructions per second is the main focus.
This can be achieves through clock and improve instructions per clock. More then 4 cores is not usefull at this time for gw2. And GPU able to provide the present graphics on max settings will be sufficient. Will be anything from the higher regions of GPU’s of the last 7 or so years of at least dx 9.0c.

This said, new packages could allways raise the qua;ity of the engine and the services on the server, increase bandwith and might improve the resource use on clients.

Right now I am still playing and working fine with my 4 year old PC (i7 3770, GTX970, 16 GByte RAM, SSD and Data HDD) but HoT was really a problem for my GPU. 85°C temps but no real usage is a weird thing.

Maybe you should check on the quality of your thermal paste of the (GPU/CPU) coolers in your PC. 4 yrs old is a bit long for high end use.

A-Net has tried to implement things, and most worked out. Yes, this also means some didn’t.

The trinity? What trinity?

I still do not think this game is about healers tanks and DPS classes. The true healer is useless in 97% of the game, as is the pure tank…. The classic tank would be pointless in this game… as the game favors melee over range. So we cannot have 1 char holding the line and all others DPSsing from behind him.

This is a bit different in the tanked or kited raidbosses, these require you do the mechanics and stay on opposite side of the boss, and you’ll make it… anyone can do it. The fact I myself have legendary aror shows anyone can do it.

I hav enoticed the game has an affinity with builds using 1 or 2 parts of the triangle,

  • DPS (all direct and indirect dmg builds (most PvE))
  • healer (all true heal builds, magi druids and auramancers)
  • bunker (most support builds and buffers)
  • healer/DPS; (zealot auramancers and condidruids)
  • healer/bunker; (minstrel ele, mace/focus guradian, ventari revs)
  • bunker/DPS; (most WvW builds)

There are no true tanks. There are no builds whcih will live through anything.
The healers.. Well they are here in name, but they cannot keep everybody 100%, no matter what… As such they are not the infinitely powerfull allways alive ultra booners from some other games.
But no matter what you can finish most content including t4 fractals without bunkers or healers. It’s a choice to brinng them but not a must. That’s innovative. you can even choose to make groups lower in dps fully build on sustain… And do nearl all content on them. The present meta is selfimposed, and not neccesary at all. The Meta has only 1 goal and that’s to finish all content a.s.a.p. Nothing more, nothing less.

The DPS classes. Well most are…
All can heal all can support, they do whatever the want with the change of a few traits.

As for the promises.

  • Gw2 is trying to be innovative and they have been with a game with only rare moments of downtime, they may struggela bit with the pacing, but all in all they seem to do quite well.
  • There are still event chains, some hearts have returned, and I like the concept . We have a lot more repeatable content and a lot more area to run in then i expected to recieve in HoT so that’s positive.
  • I like the horizontal progression, the masteries and elite specs.
I like the rare small side quests. and I like the content all for cents per hour played in my case.
  • I did like the more frequent release of content. I also like the fact everything is replayable. I would prefer the speed of LS S1 with the system of LS S2,3 but I also see some things causing problems now and then.
  • We’ll be heading to expansion 2 soon. I’ll buy it, I want to see what the future holds.
Banning such uproar as last time over trivialities I expect it to be good. I expect to have a decent platform to get another year’s worth of good content and thrills. But I’ll see.

I believe all people in entertainment want to entertain and see ppl return, not to make everyones lives miserable. The future will tell if I’m getting what I expoect, and I expect much, HoT seemed somewhat flawed and limited and eventually made up for so much… and I consider a better buy now then the moment I bought it. I expect a new expansion to continue on this.

Which profession can heal allies?

in Guild Wars 2 Discussion

Posted by: PaxTheGreatOne.9472

PaxTheGreatOne.9472

Elementalist – water attunement, water spec, tempest elite spec

Ranger – traps, spirits, shouts, some pets, nature magic spec, druid elite spec

Engineer – turrets, med kit, elixer gun, alchemy inventions and tools specs

Revenant – staff, legendary centaur

Guardian – staff, mace + focus/shield, honor spec

Necromancer – blood spec

Warrior – banners and shouts, tactics and dicipline specs, warhorn

Mesmer – inspiration spec

Thief – shadow refuge…

If she wants a “traditional healer” she’ll want to play elementalist(water/tempest), ranger(druid), revenant (centaur), engineer, or guardian. Other classes can provide party wide healing, and can be quite efficient at it, but they do so mostly through passive healing. Whereas these classes have more active options to healing.

This is by far the most complete and correct answer.

Having said that some builds will be easier to heal with and some will be focussed more on other things:

Elementalist is more ao f a pure heal spec while playing water It will heal for a lot, damage is low sustain depends on the choice of armor. More a stand off healer.
At present it’s the #2 choice for healers in game, with the auramancer (bunker) spec being meta (first choice) in WvW

Ranger is a slightly less capable healer compared to water elementalist, but will heal decent, it is more bursty then elementalist and positioning will be more important.
Added benefit is the option to give good buffs to damage. more a stand off healer
Druids are seen as the first choice of healer in game for PvE.

Guardians is more of a melee spec healer if used in this fashion
Mace/focus and virtue of resolve healing on symbols will allow guardian to be at the front of fights,. while supporting it alles, healing is limited and the focus is in a very small radius

Shout heal warrior will be oriented to fight, and clean conditions, while heling small amounts Not a full healer , and not haeling as much as the guardian.

Revenant is a very solid healer for a heavy class. It will bring good healing over time. and can be a good healer at medium range. A solid backup for druid and elementalist.

Necromancer is a light class and can tranfuse health from enemies to alies.
Being devoted to lifesteal, it will likley feel different compared to healers. It mostly depends on 1 burst and is powerfull with good self-sustain, not having to drop a lot of damage to allow for healing.

Engineer can have healing with the medkit, or healing turrets, being basic heals. it will do it’s job, but to me doesn’t feel like a healer

Mesmer has acces to a AoE healing field, regeneratoon on clones and more things, it also doesn’t feel like ahealer but can do the job

Thief is more likely the least likely to be healer, but will do the job.

Now having gone over all professions I do need to say:

  • In nearly all content healing is less important as most players should be able to self sustain, through dodges and self heals. People using more supportive builds can often reduce the need for healers (people carrying aoe healing fields, or giving a lot of regen)
  • The use of healers is mostly for high level content only.
  • In all case focussing on healing can lead to low DPS and difficult tagging.
  • most heals require an above average knowledeg of encounters. as often enemy dps comes in peaks. having little of no heals available will significantly lower the use of the healer.
  • healers function is to keep all (DPS) players above 90% in PvE content as they often run runes and traits for more dmg above 90% health. You need to be able to see this.
  • In case of necromancers some builds will do better dmg at low amounts of health… this will make healers counter productive.

I can say personally as a returning player I have found quite a few things annoying and this topic is one of them.

The PvP is condition spam, I find this type of play style horrible and passive while other play styles like berserker which take far more calculated effort are harmed.

Condition spamming is more then just autoing… A good condition spam will ask more then just standing there and facerolling the KB

Off-Topic:

Mystic Forge, you throw in 4 level 80 exotics and get back level 75-78 exotics 1/2 of the time which might explain why I only got two precursors from maybe 500 forges of exotics. I recall it being far better in the past and fun to gamble when you didn’t go broke doing it.

You have 25% chance to get something better so I’d suggest you thorw in rare’s next time

Step it up Anet… step it up.

Well… They have, and if you have not seen this you are not willing to look beyond the errors of past times.

Builds are more balanced, no not perfect, We have had 5 new maps in the pasty 5 ls parts, we have a decent story, improved WvW, improved PvP and a lot of content has been added since HoT launched. The QoL has been significant. we had some nice content also apart from LS.

I think they are doing good, any improvements on good are allways welcome, but it’s not if A-net is sagging or slacking.

How to balance Condition damage

in Guild Wars 2 Discussion

Honestly if I had to rebalance conditions, it’d be a very big undertaking because I’d want to tackle the root cause: the lack of identity of DoTs compared to DDs in GW2, and as a result, the lack of use to build class/spec identity.

Key points:

  • Reduce spammability of conditions.
  • Massively increase impact and reduce availability of cleansing in turn (in other words if you counter it it’s not coming back soon but if you don’t, it hurts significantly, but it’s a single stack only unless multiple players are attacking you).
  • DoTs do low DPS compared to power damage, but given their cast-times, do very high total damage if left to “tick out”.
  • Each class is assigned 1-3 identities they can spec for. For example, maybe a Warrior flat out cannot go DoT-centric, being such a power fantasy and usually shown running in with two 2H-swords raised high. They might do DoT damage, but it’d scale off of their power and be supplementary only. Other classes might always be majorly based on condition damage as their output, even when speccing for more direct damage. (basically shifting from 15% to 50% power damage).
  • Conditions scale off of power. No more separate stat.
  • No more Expertise. If you want your DoTs to last longer you have specific per-class traits for that. DoTs really ought to be balanced baseline, which means things making you do more damage just affect DoTs.
  • “Reduce spammability of conditions…”

Just apply 1 stack and see how they die?
How would this be better? Would not be very interesting

  • “Reduce cleansing…”

If you get hit you die 100%?
How would this be better? I can apply it and hide somewhere while you die. Or I can hit you and you can rmove it and I need to wait a long time until I could apply it again, not counting dodges and such

  • “DoTs do low DPS compared to power damage, but given their cast-times, do very high total damage if left to “tick out”."

DoT’s already good okay DPS… So I doubt we need to make ’m stronger still
Bonfire does about 15k dmg if you stand in it for the full time and do nothing.
20 seconds lasting bleeds tha same..

  • No more expertise? And Power scaling as well? "

It will make any build a condition build and the condition no more then an extension of the power dmg.

You are suggesting ro remove condition dmg and give everyone a condition which will 100% kill ppl when hit , is unremovable and has a finite kill time. While making all builds DPS builds…

How to balance Condition damage

The true problem is the fact that power/precision/ferocity all start at 1000 and condi/expertise start at 0. All skills in the game have a percent modifier attached to them (a skills with a 0.2 damage modifier does 200 damage with base power, but 400 damage with +1000 power from gear) for power, meanwhile conditions have a base amount and scale differently based on gear. Bleeding scales from 22 to 82 with 1000 condi meanwhile burning scales 131 to 286 with 1000. The difference is +272% compared to 118%. This brings up problems of certain classes scaling like crap with condi (and by certain classes, it really is just Guardian), meanwhile others scale way better.

A better way to fix condi would be to make all condition not have a base value and scale off condition damage entirely. So if bleeding had a scaling of 0.04 it would do 40 a tick with no condi damage and 80 at +1000 condi damage which is the same that power scales. Than you could have expertise work the same, so if a skill that currently last 5s would than have a scaling factor of 0.005 so if you stacked expertise to +1000 you’d have 10s. You could than let it go over the cap of 100% since all stats help equally per point.

1st: 1000 condition dmg is a very basic value attainable without speccing in condition dmg at all…

You’re suggesting a nerf in dmg for condi users and a buff for non condi users..
And you suggest a release of the duration cap….

Adding a base condi dmg value (raise base condition dmg from 0 to 1000)
Numbers…

Stats from armor+weapons+trinkets+back:

  • condi dmg will be 1381 with major ascneded
  • condi dmg will be 961 with minor ascneded
  • condi dmg will be 0 if you do not spec for it.
  • suggestion adds 1000 to these base values

for dedicated condition builds:

  • runes will add 175 points.
  • food+utility will add 170 points

for anyone

  • might can add 750 points
  • banners will add 170 points
  • (pinpoint distribution could add another 150)
  • (Condition signet 180 (mesmer/guardian))

Unbuffed Non-Condi user will have

  • 0 condi dmg,
  • 100% duration

Buffed Non-Condi user will have

  • 750+170(+150 ) =920 (1070),
  • 100% duration

Unbuffed Minor condi user will have

  • 961
  • 100% duration

Buffed Minor Condi user will have

  • 961+750+170(+150)= 1821 (1971),
  • 100% duration

Unbuffed Full Condi user will have

  • 1381+175+170 (+180) = 1726 (1906)
  • 170% condi duraton

Buffed Full Condi user will have

  • 1381+175+750+170+ (150(+180))=2476 (2626 (2806))
  • 200% duration

These values above are values as they are now,
This doesn’t include traits converting stats to condi dmg, nor runes bonusses doing the same, sigils of bursting and other boosts.

We can now calculate the bleeding dmg for these 6 benchmarks:

Formulae:

  • bleed old: 22+ (0.06*condi dmg)
  • bleed new: (condi dmg + 1000 )*0.04

(here’s where the 1000 base condi dmg is added, I could make the numbers and add 1000 each time, but i think ths is easier and more comprehensible)

Value Unbuffed Non-Condi
base 0

  • bleeding old: 22
  • bleeding new: 40
  • 81% buff

value Buffed Non-Condi
base: 920 (1070)

  • bleeding old 77.2 (86)
  • bleeding new 76.2 (82.8)
  • 1.3% nerf

value Unbuffed Minor Condi
961 base

  • bleeding old: 79.7
  • bleeding new: 78.4
  • 1.7% nerf

Value Buffed Minor Condi:
1821 (1971)

  • bleeding old: 131.3 (140.3)
  • bleeding new: 112.8 (118.8)
  • 14.5% nerf

value Unbuffed Full Condi
1726 (1906)

  • bleeding old: 125.6 (136.4)
  • bleeding new: 109 (116.2)
  • 13.3% nerf base value

value Buffed Full Condi
2476 (2626) (2806)

  • bleeding old: 170.6 (179.6) (190.36)
  • bleeding new: 139 (145) (152.2)
  • 19-21% nerf base value

Opinion
Having pure condi builds nerfed by 20% will make ‘m unviable in any area’s of the game with further mitigation through cleanses (sigil of genrosity, purity, cleanses, shout cleansing, lightfields and combo’s, duration removal and resistance and invulnerability)
This does not even include reflects, sending to pets/minions/clones and dodging.

Additional Duration
As for duration, max duration can be achieved by mesmer. the +20% duration signet will allow builds to get 217% duration (provided you want max duration on all conditions…. but I doubt this will fully compensate all other 8 proffesions’ nerf.

If you look at 1 specific conditions this wil happen:
for example burning on warrior:
burning modifer :
33% from trait
45% from rune
20% from sigil of smoldering
10% from malice
30% from food/utility
42.2% from expertise
————— +
180.2% added burning duration!

This is a 40% buff to a burning warriors burning!

But if dmg output would be nerfed by ~20% it would likely only compensate the loss from the change.

Considering the bleeds with this set would be 102%…. I do not think this would help in mitigating condition dmg. It would however work in reducing pressure to 80% while retaining dmg in the full duration of the buring skills effects, bleeding would lose 20% DOT dmg.

So in the end:

  • You’d see part of the present builds gutted, mostly cause you can no longer focus on ALL TYPES of condition dmg.
  • This doesn’t matter for elementalists , warriors and guardians who focus on 1 or 2 types, but would destroy a lot of potential in condition buils on:
Thieves, mesmers, necro’s, engineers, revs and condi rangers.
  • Most builds would lose 10-15% condition dmg.
  • Duration would become a bigger factor in teh final output.
  • Condition dmg as a stat would be less effective:
  • Non condition users when buffed STILL have decent (unchanged) condition dmg…
  • Non condition users when NOT buffed will have significant more use from their conditions.

Add a new stat mainly to reduce condi damage on you, similair to toughness vs power.
I dont see them ever nerfing condi damage across all classes.

I do not think that’s needed however i think the condi reduction effects of runes and such should be calculated over the final number not subtracted from the duration…

Having a build with 150% condition duration attack you while you have 45% condition duration mitigation makes the dmg 105% duration and it should be 150 *0.55 = 82.5%

this would fix condition duration and mitigation instantly. I ’d suggest max mitigation would be 50% however.

The issue isnt condi duration, its condi Damage.

No it’s not condition dmg… Condition dmg is fine.

Stacks would only be half as high with 50% less condition duration….
This would allow up to 50% mitigation instead of the 25% possible now; provided you do not dodge, reflect, cleanse, send ’m back

While still allowing the pressure needed to have condi builds… if you say: “No I do not want to (re-)evaluate the implementation of condition duration”, you’ll have destoyed 50% of the combat system over 50% of armor sets and made a full reinstatement of the berserker Meta.

That’s makes only focussing on condition dmg probably -not- the best solution. In the end condition dmg needs to kill as well. Else it is useless…

if you have +300% MF your window for loot will be 4 times the size it was originally

100% base +300% = 400% chance for the 0.0001% of the precursor… so 0.0004 you have a clearly larger chance, but it really doesn’t matter in your view.

The problem with having it in fractals is not everyone plays them.

I wrote low level so about lvl 1-25 difficulty . this should be accessible, also the fractals portal would be very suited to this suggestion as fractals is a containment of (ancient) moments in history you can go to and try to correct.

Other level encounters could be added or just used from existing fractals as a collection of levels needed to be played in sequence with the movies reinstated.

Or just, you know. Not in fractals. I don’t think its a good idea to distort the fractal experience just to add the living story season 1.

Could just as well turn the rift manipulator into class V and open story instances with that. Because the Charr that fixesvit obviously imo has some reality jumping going on where he doesnt remember you.

Plus story works so much better when its not balanced to 5man instances.

The fractals exprience is just a collection of events from teh past you are thrusted into, IMHO it would make sense to have people find out things from the past in this environment, it seems sound in a lore perspective. I doubt we would need a whole new coencept f fractals, We just need 1 more Krewe member who can direct people to this content.

And story is 5 man anyways.

Almost everything worth salvaging from season 1 has been salvaged. The story, such as it was, was embarassingly awful and should never see the light of day again.

Turn the marionette battle and the retaking of LA into fractals, and that’s everything worthwhile from it.

I tend to agree partially,

Making the present LS 1 fractals replayable in fractals in a low level special fractal sequence called “Return to Scarlet’s War”

I Rise of Scarlet

  • Introduction to Ceara (could see Dry top holo projector in scarlet’s room LS S2 E1)
  • Steam creatures in Lake of Lamentation
  • Thaumanova Fractal

II Scarlet’s armies:
a) Molten Alliance

  • Molten Furnace Fractal
  • Molten Boss Fractal
    b) Aetherblades
  • Not so Secret
  • Aetherblade Fractal
  • Mai Trin Fractal
    -Intermission-
  • Treason; The Betrayal of the Watchwork Knights
    c)Toxic Alliance
  • events are still active in Kessex Hills
  • Nightmare (toxic alliance)
  • the Watchwork Marionette (either cinematic or actual reinstation of the event. The marionette rebooted? )

III The Demise of Scarlet: Lion’s Arch under Siege!

  • Assault on LA (instance, old LA)
  • Breachmaker (instance)

And complement these with the story line (could be harvested from season 1)) with the cinematics detailing “The Rise and Fall of Scarlet Briar”
This would finish it, and this should include the fight in the Breachmaker as the destruction of old LA as well… and make Scarlet’s Legacy more understandable…

1st) People would go mad if we made it legendary with no added costs, so it would have to be precursor armor with no chance to obtain unless you have done 2 full years of WvW….. compared to raids which is 6 weeks minimum for your precursor armor. and 3.5 months for the legendary armor… doing content 1 or 2 days per week.

Well Most skills are situational. I have used all banners, all signets, all shouts, all physical skills and most stances. The rage skills have clear uses as well,

rampage skill is useless

Well it fits in CC builds very well, the cooldown does make it less usable. 90 seconds would be way more usefull…
For CC: Auto chain has: cripple, 5 vulnerability and a daze, #2 has a knockback, #3 is a gap closer and a leap (=no CC), #4 is a stun and #5 is a knockdown.
But the fact you get 2 times your health pool, dmg mitigation and added toughness makes you pretty powerfull
It will boost your toughness by 1000 and your healthpool by 18.5k, AND it will remove 25% of all dmg recieved.
It gives you stability and swiftness and removes 33% of all movement impeding conditions like chill, cripple and immobilize.
It can be traited to do 30% more dmg and have 20% CD reduction….on an adept slot…

you can’t combine it with your sword for extra attack damage,

No It gives you 5 new skills 4 of which are CC skills. This already makes it a very powerfull skill, and it’s function is to (chain-)CC; not to do dmg…

banners also are only helping your useless team and leaving the warrior open to any attack cause you don’t have defencive skills to block upcoming attacks an you act more like support,

banners are very powerfull skills, and the 1 strength 1 discipline is a very limited solution in builds. Shout heal warrior, with a banner of tactics can be very relevant as well.

sigments giving extra stats but still the same compare to other spells for example dolyak sigment got similar stats with balance stance this 180 toughnes can go to the stance there is no use for signets their stats must go to the stances,

Signets might be comparable to other skills, the choice is to have a skill whcih can give you a buff in stats OR an active effect, whcioh will remove the stats for the duration of the cooldown, lowering toughness, power or precision. A stance skill is different having an effect while you can do other things in between. during it’s active phase…
Dolyak signet is not comparable to balanced stance in my opinion.

also warriors sword core spells adrenaline needs remake

No it doesn’t sword skills have a fast enough replenishment of adrenaline as is, I never run out of adrenaline on sword. I only seem to have this probelm on non-traited rifle.

wirlwind needs to be more controllable

Whirlwinds are incontrollable in the 1st place. I like the present implementation.

hundred blades more lethal cause you siting still an you may hit nothing wen perform it

Hundred blades already is pretty lethal and will be more effective after a decent CC or immobilize. the fact you are bound to place while channeling offsets this a bit.

blood trail an rush need total remake

blood trail?? I guess you mean Blood Reckoning? The heal skill is pretty powerfull provided you can place it and you can use it to mitigate a LOT of pressure and fight on. It is pretty useless when you do not have a target.
Rush is pretty effective IMHO. I use it as a gap closer and in rotation after whirlwind attack.

some of this attacks must be change with the sundering leap an better sinematic wen it lands an silence the enemy wen it slashes,

Silence? I have not seen this mechanic before in Guild Wars. As for sundering leap it functions perfect as a leap finisher and a cripple (often traited with immobilize on my S/T warrior) You can use it as a second savage leap…

warrior got the ability in many many games to silence enemies wen attack with a powerful sword attack

Yes, they might have different functions and abilities in other games. In gw2 however we have stuns and dazes which disallow skill use, unless the skills are stunbreakers.

utility skills must get shorter an better organised.

A lot of them are very short already and warrior has a good deal of damage, CC, support and control options as is.

Tell me what you people think about warrior if he wan’t a total remake cause i think he is left back compare to the other classes even with the new spells.

Well I disagree. At least for the most.

  • My condition warrior can run with any group and I can customize my build for running, skipping, Support, DPS or DOT with only a few modifications in utility skills.
  • For my DPS warrior roughly the same it is pretty focussed on meelee battles.
  • And for My WvW warrior… Well it can claense, support , dmg and CC without needing to swap builds…
In WvW I used to run A/Wh and hammer on a clerics bunker with trooper runes This build can now remove 15 conditions in short intervals. I now run a 3k power build with hammer and GS. It works fine, but lost a lot of utility compared to the previous build.

All in all I think there are a lot of options as a Warrior ingame and even though some skills might need some tweaking.
I feel most are usefull and give a usable and mostly balanced build in any circumstance in PvE, WvW and PvP…

Oh and I almost forgot, 1 last small request: “Could you try to focus on punctuation and make some alinea’s to break your wall of text please?”

I tried to reconstruct your meaning, to the best of my abilities.
I’m not a native English speaking person either.
If I failed to answer you in any manner other they your intended sugegstions it’s because I have problems finding the start and finish of the sentences and therefore the focus and thus the meaning and content of the text is lost.

I hope I interpreted your post correctly.

How to balance Condition damage

in Guild Wars 2 Discussion

Posted by: PaxTheGreatOne.9472

PaxTheGreatOne.9472

Copied from another conditions thread…

This game just bleeds poison. And the confusion it causes sets the community on fire, But I guess it’s just the weakness of our builds that causes this vulnerability. And I am stunned by the immobilisation of the builds which does give me the chills… You all cripple and torment yourself. Instead of building up some resistance in this game and clean your own game. That could whirl some light into these posts.

My opinion about conditions:

In WvW i rarely die from conditions cause the zerg will have enough, no more then enough cleansing opportunities…

Fighting PvP or roamer vs roamer however is different. and yes condi builds are extremely potent…. then again I’d use condi builds versus the 3k and almost 4k armor builds… cause the bunkers tend to be imperveous to a guy swinging his GS in many cases… sometimes just running on and ignoring the roamer completely…
(Trust me my minstrel ele with diamond skin is imperveous, I sometimes stop and wave then run on again. Unless I get to eat a huge poison spam I will not go down…)

In WVW the most damaging conditons are poison, confusion and torment cause they prevent healing, skill activation and running (away)
These 3 conditionsare known as shutdown conditions and being affected by all 3 will kill you, unless you can deal with it…..

Burning and bleeding? Honestly it is no real problem… a longbow warrior will not kill you easily… the immobiulze can be dangerous, but the rest oof the conditions will be trivial.

And like the small block of text at start you can use resistance, light and whirl, cleanses, (and food/rune combo’s).

I stilll use sweet bean buns in lvl 80+ fractals to remove pressure and to defend myself.

It’s my expectation the next expansion will be about more conditions in PvE and the need to clean.

Birthday Dye Packs

I actually owned all but 4 or 5 dyes at the time the 1st birthday dye pack was released… Yes i missed some in the newest pack, but still.. (you couldn’t get dyes form the newest pack)

There was no knowing it would come. nor was there any probelms from me I could fill up my last 4( or 5?) dyes. I however have 22 lvl80’s so I’ll end up with a stack of 15+ or so boxes in the end I can in theory salvage for pigment pouches.

It might be interesting I bought the dyes cause I wanted them and other will get them for free, but I’m entitled when we ask for an alternative better then 3-10 pouches of pigment?

Raids & Legendary armor -- unrealistic

in Fractals, Dungeons & Raids

Posted by: PaxTheGreatOne.9472

I consider myself a fanatic casual… still

I finished the raids doing the collections as a primary goal and the did 3-8 bosses a week.

I have some whcih is came to be prretty good/ expert at and I can see what pl do wrong and give tips, I also have a couple of bosses and events I asked to be carried on, by a raid training guild. In the end I pugged everything from 25 LI or so, only getting some help in the Sabetha, Matthias, Twisted Castle and Xera.

In the end I know I know

  • Vale Guardian,
  • Gorseval,
  • Trio,
  • Escort,
  • Keep Construct,
  • Cairn,
  • Overseer,
  • Samarog
  • Deimos

I’m able to do Slothasor and Xera, and fail miserably at Matthias and Sabetha.

I got my escort armor at ~40-45 LI
I got my 2nd collection at 151 LI
I finished my legendary armor 3,5 weeks later. I made a heavy.

When I made my armor some people already had the precursor to the 3rd!
I do not mind. I might continue or pass on the other 2. I have 22 characters anyways.

What's the point of playing this game?

in Guild Wars 2 Discussion

Posted by: PaxTheGreatOne.9472

PaxTheGreatOne.9472

I’ve been playing this game since summer of 2015. I was really into it at first, but my interest slowly decreased until I fully stopped playing it for five months. Then I came back and… really, what’s the point?

This game finds a way to punish players every chance it gets. I’ve been giving competitive modes a shot, and it’s just… beyond broken. I’m not a fan of the meta. I strongly believe people have the right to play how they want and be original to come up with their own sort builds while corresponding to a role. That’s what I tried. And I got punished for it. Whether it’s PvP or WvW, none of my 22 characters is able to do anything. A lot of players in WvW hold a major advantage most. How in the world did this mode once attracted low-level characters? I feel useless in group fights and I can’t solo against any type of class unless the other player is utterly inexperienced. The same goes for PvE as well.

Let’s not forget about how grindy this game is. How disappointing its latest content has been. The story was one of the main reasons why I stuck around, but ever since HoT came out it’s been just getting worse where I’m literally cringing at the thought of it.

It also doesn’t help that I feel quite lonely in-game. I’ve been trying to find new people to play with and joined several types of guilds. People aren’t just interested in me whatsoever. I don’t consider myself to be a saint or an kitten; I try to be friendly and even help new players. What I get are people who end up using me for some of their own goals, including new players. I give them my support, tips and ask and they just end up ignoring me once I ceased to be useful to them. The community is not what it once was. It’s bad. The people are just cruel and moronic. I was even stalked and harassed by a player. I got proof of its actions and reported it several times. I even sent tickets to ANet and nothing happened. The player is still out there, making new accounts to reach me again and again.

All I want is to have fun, but this game feels like a frustrating chore where nothing feels rewarding whatsoever.

Well.. You play a game to have something to do, and to have fun with, if it’s no longer your thing, either because there is no content at present you like or no way to get back into it that’s probably frustrating.

Ingame harassment is bad however and if it can be proven actions should take place. either by renaming your account or by reprimanding or removing the other player.

With regard to grind: No I do not see much grind if you consider the 2000 level WvW or so as a problem, those are rewards for people playing for 4, nearly 5 years straight. That’s not a grind but a reard for longe term commitment, nor is the 150 LI for legendary armor, as it is only 12-16 weeks of doing raid bosses if you go all out…
In the end this game is not about finishing the achievements instantly unless you have story rewards in mind.

Open up full worlds again

in Guild Wars 2 Discussion

PaxTheGreatOne.9472

Full worlds have a big portion of active WvW players, For PvP and PvE the world yuou’re on has no importyance whatsoever and the Mega-server system will compensate.

Joining a Full server would mean you are chosing to be in a server with large queues. with present queues on Desolation (EU) going up to 200+ for EB on reset!

Having up to 500 ppl fighting to get into the fray with 0 places to distribute doesn’t help a monetary scheme.

Spending money can be done in all servers.

Increase the reward from Dungeon Bag of Coins

in Guild Wars 2 Discussion

Posted by: PaxTheGreatOne.9472

PaxTheGreatOne.9472

  • The bags of coins used to be 3-10 silver and have been reduced
  • All money rewards from dungeons were reduced, at launch of HoT. This to reduce the money inflation in gw2 due to dungeon farming

Link of patch (release of HoT) from “the nerf”:
https://forum-en.gw2archive.eu/forum/info/updates/Game-Update-Notes-October-23-2015/first#post5694869

DUNGEONS
“Dungeon rewards have been rebalanced to more accurately reflect the time needed to complete them. Experience and gold awarded for completing a dungeon have been reduced.”

  • To compensate for the complete destruction of the dungeon community an dungeon reward was added.

Link of patchnotes of the “solution”:
https://forum-en.gw2archive.eu/forum/info/updates/Game-Update-Notes-April-19-2016/first#post6109259

“A new repeatable dungeon achievement has been added. See the Dungeons section below.”

DUNGEONS
“We increased dungeon rewards, including both gold and tokens. We chose to use a repeatable achievement to deliver gold rewards, as it encourages completing multiple dungeon paths while allowing dungeon runners to play as many dungeons as they like when it’s convenient for them, rather than tying players to a daily reset.
Added a new repeatable achievement for completing 8 unique dungeon paths. Completing this achievement will award players with 5 gold and 150 tokens from the dungeon of their choice.”

“Dungeon tokens given in the daily bonus chest awarded the first time each dungeon path is completed have been increased from 40 to 80 tokens.
All Aetherblade weapons now drop much more frequently from the chest that is awarded after defeating the Clockheart boss at the end of the Aetherblade path of the Twilight Arbor explorable-mode dungeon.”

The mentioned achievement is a repeatable achievement:

Dungeon Frequenter
giving a Chest of Dungeoneering: 150 tokens and 5 gold for every 8 unique paths completed, once finshed you can redo this immediately

Aftermath:
These 7 months coincided with the total destruction of the dungeon community.
at launch of HoT a lot of people left, and didnt purchase HoT because of this reason, furthermore dungeon-guilds and -groups ceased to exist, Speed clear groups dissapeared, the fast run groups vanished completely, and most dungeon runs are now from people who never did speedruns or fastclears.

Due to this reason it is no longer attractive to run dungeons for income. Which is the predicted outcome from the community, the repair was to little to late. And likely planned to have the above effect to protect the gw2 economy,

LFG dungeons?

in Guild Wars 2 Discussion

Posted by: PaxTheGreatOne.9472

PaxTheGreatOne.9472

Basically LFG usage was, and is as follows:

USED ABBREVATIONS IN LFG (Looking For Group)

GENERAL (appicable in all LFG’s for PVE)

Open all people & builds & lvls from minimum lvl to max level allowed.
Exp experienced players only (know the mechanics)
Zerk max (physcial) dmg builds only
Meta Metabuilds only, genrally also meaning present meta comp (1Zerk,1 chrono,1 Druid,2 DPS)
min l35 minimum level
l80 max level requirement
#kAP achievement point requirement (no longer in use and considered offensive)
title or -title name- exaples: Unclean, Eternal required title
food mandatory use of food & utility: no food = kick, using magic find food or low level food tends to get you kicked as well
1st, 1st timer, newb, teaching run new players, with no experience, will watch movies
viper (max) Condi builds only (not advised for dungeons!)
or kick! “Will enforce my rules, so you better take it seriously!”
We have cookies! : We will not be difficult
need #war, #grd, #druid, #ele, #thief, #Msm, #Chr We need a specific class

Sometimes you’ll see language requests, PL, IT or RUS and these refer to languages in this case Polish, Italian and Russian. This has to do with people not familiar with english and thus having problems communicating, This can cause problems with kicks and blocks if you do not respect ’m and it will not be possible to have this altered easily if you cannot speak the languages yourself.

DUNGEONS

AC, Arah, CoF, CoE, CM, HotW, SE, TA Dungeon names (no longer relevant in LFG)
p1,2,3,4 dungeon’s explorable paths (except for TA: FW, UP and/or Aether), any combination possible, nromal ’s are COF 1,2, SE 1,3
nightrun , nighttour (CoF,CoE,SE,TA,AC)
dungeon tour All dungeons, all paths (= very rare nowadays)
full all paths with regard to the dungeon , e.g. “AC Full”
story story mode, e.g. “HotW story”
movies will watch all cutscenes
noskip will kill all mobs
fastrun / speedrun will use as many skips as possible, stacking and so on. Dungeon utility and dungeon (weapon)-set preferred.
(sigil of night and force for nightdungeons or force and slaying sigil for daydungeons.)

FRACTALS

number fractal level
daily tier # (t#’s) all daily fractals form tier
daily rec daily recomended fractals
potions Use of fractal potions required
CM challenge mode.

RAIDS

###LI Minimal amount of Legendary Insights
-no requirement for traininbg
- 25 for low skill req,
- 50 for basic kills,
- 100 for experienced kills,
- 200 for wings and
- 250+ for full runs
(legendary armor is 150 LI)
kp Kill proof (boss tokens, not LI), titles also work, and envoy armor is a sign you finished the 1st 3 wings, legendary armor shows you should have finished all 4 wings. Eternal (title) shows competence in wing 1, challengemode titles/gearboxes suggest ppl know what to do in relevant bosses. Oh and MINI’S AND WEAPONS are -not- KP!

Rules of Conduct:

  • ASK a party if they’d mind a join, if you consider it. Be sure you do not join with a group for a different dungeon, tier of fractals or with way higher or lower expectations. Doublecheck before clicking.
  • This does require people to read the LFG, which seems more difficult in the weekends compared to weekdays. failure to comply may or may not result in a kick.
  • Just reading the LFG’s will lower the amount of grief and comments. If I am prepared to make LFG with many requirements it will take longer to fill.
  • Please respect the requirements.
  • To respect fellow players and not join groups not complying with your skill/ level/gear whatever is a matter of courtesy.
  • If someone joins on a class other then the ones specifed in a list, you’ll be asked to swap, or you notify your party you’ll swap on join or ASAP after.
  • If people are trying to get your attention and you do not reply , expect this to result in a kick, in a cooperative game it’s a problem if you do not communicate

I hope this was informing.

Consumer feedback for ArenaNet: New lvl 80

in Guild Wars 2 Discussion

Posted by: PaxTheGreatOne.9472

PaxTheGreatOne.9472

I am currently going back to do season 2

That money would be better spent elsewhere, trust me.
Generally speaking GW2’s story is really mediocre and so is the content offered in LS2. If you really want to buy something, buy the LS3 maps, just for the farms.

Arenanet’s business model works by drawing in new, clueless players to the game and tricking them into wasting their money on mediocre content. Player permanence is not a priority to Anet.

I’ll be honest;

Season 2 is how you can understand the reason to go to the jungle, you get familar with your group (yes, I know that used to be Season 1), You can find a bit of back lore on Scarlet and you get to know some of the factions ingame…

Season 2 is what season 3 will be for the upcoming expansion. The prologue to the expansion, the bridge. Season 2 did add 2 maps, but acces to those is not locked behind the expansion (there was no expansion yet)

I found season 2 entertaining, but gear and stuff recieved from achievements is not gamebreaking anymore,
These gear sets were
Sinister (bypassed now through HoT’s Viper’s gear) and
Nomads (Bypassed now by HoT’s Minstrel gear)

As for Season 2 and the difficulty: the difficultty scale was raised a lot compared to the vanilla story line peope were expected to be in full exotic gear/weapons andhave a decent build and optionally food instead fo the base story where you have levelling gear and trinkets if you think about buying ’m

I found season 2 interesting and an important part of my ingame experience, I also unlocked it on my alt account, mostly to get the said sinister trinkets to at least have some kind of decent gear for my 1st condi on my alt account. This reason is trivialized by the introduction of living series season 3 story episodes only leaving the story motivation.
