MA: Post WW2 Germany in the Charr.

The use of combat zeppelins was mostly WW1, not WW2. Though the use of barracading balloons in WW2 was clear close to vulnerable targets most likely to be attacked by divebombers, they were unmanned and used to hinder enemy operations, as opposed to combat ballons (reconaisance) and zeppelins (bombardment (trials) and combat missions (mostly reconaisance))

The fact humans and charr have been at war for a long time was mostly GW1 lore. There seems to be a fragile peace/cease-fire now between charr and humans after the exodus from Ascalon after the Searing, but the Charr invaded only a small strip of land….Charr haven’t taken the war to other area’s, The only area which was taken was the area(s) below the great wall, Mostly Plains of Ashford (pre searing gw1) and the Fields of Ruin, maybe, but the main city there being Ebonhawke seems mostly human still… The fact there is still peace communications & negotiations in the fields of ruin shoud suggest this is a truce for now, but not yet a definitive peace….Though the dragon problem has clear priority….

This seems above the fighting factions of our present RL world who cannot seem to find enoough importance in a common cause in some cases and refusing to join the ring of world leaders to adress the major problems instead of spending billions and billions in trivial conflict. United Nations excluded

Well… This is in open field while on the move, not in a WvW battle..

The second is in combat due to some ghosts popping up when I wanted to make my picture. All Plains of Ashford…

FPS will drop significantly when on world bosses or on wvw battles… so this is just to show it is possible to get good Fps.

Is there a use for celestial stats?

in Guild Wars 2 Discussion

Posted by: PaxTheGreatOne.9472

PaxTheGreatOne.9472

It depends what youre going to be doing. If youre going to be in serious dungeons runs or high level fractals (30+ is where you start to need it) make ascended zerk gear for sure

If youre going to be doing only serious wvw on top tier servers, I think soldiers is better, but not positive, the guardian forums might have more builds about what to run for that

If youre more casual and will be doing wvw/eotm, open world pve, and occasional dungeons celestial is great. Yea your damage is a little lower but who cares if some 13 year old blows an aneurism because a boss takes 32 seconds to kill instead of 30, plus you wont ever have to bother with multiple gear sets

I run cele armor w/traveler runes (awesome runes if youre lazy so you never have to bother with swiftness again, and gives + to all stats), along with zerker jewelery (not great to run 100% cele since you have low power, but its doable if you really want). Only content I dont use it for is fractals, but otherwise its been fine

prefer divinity on my ele over traveler, traveler has way less stat points, 8,12 and 16 for 36 per stat total of 252 total , divinity has 8.10,12,14,16,18 for 78 for a total of 546 so you are robbing yourself from 40 points per stat (I can understand it from guardian point of view, but for elementalist it is unwise). Also If you have the birthday booster, it’s nice or else there is always dragon’s revelry starcake (45 to all stats and +20% MF).

Is there a use for celestial stats?

in Guild Wars 2 Discussion

Posted by: PaxTheGreatOne.9472

PaxTheGreatOne.9472

Celestial is very viable for non DPS builds retaining okay dmg and giving good sustain, healing and condition dmg in return.

The stat combinations is only viable if you actually use 6 or more stats. if you cannot provide healing and regen you lose one, if you cannot use conditions (due to your build or weapon choices yu lose another…

If you use 5 or less a 3 stat armor will be more rewarding.

celestial will be usefull in WvW, PvE, and open dungeons, but have no use in Speedruns…. It seesm celestial is the best in PvP atm and thus attracts attention, but I really do not know.

I have a full set on my ele, It has full zerk, but also a full celestial set, both sets include a full armor, an asc staff, and asc trinkets. celestial has divinity runes, zerk is meta. I swap out what I need.

celestial armor and weapons are timegated. And te hidden fact they supply quite a lot of stat points compared to 3 stat armors shouldn’t be hidden.

It is No MAX STAT armor, not by a long shot, you’ll lose 600+ points on food and sharps buffed compared to a max power/zerk build, lose out on crit chance and crit dmg (compared to zerk), but I do get 6000 Hp in return and 600 toughness, and 600 healing and 600 condition dmg…

On Eles you can use might stacking to retain dps.(and fury if traited)…
It works and gives you an all round build. But other then engi, guard and ele there is no real reason to take clestial IMHO.

[Suggestion] Armor SKIN Check

in Guild Wars 2 Discussion

As long as it only provides the skin name…

and you can ping armor by left clicking while holding shift….

I hate gear checks. And do generally do not join people asking for it. I want to trust people.

People joining a ZERK group and clearly not having zerk armor are fast on my blocklist, as I repect the honest, not the leechers and/or trolls. I -never- remove ppl from my blocklist…

GG ArenaNet - EotM perfectly balanced...

in WvW

Posted by: PaxTheGreatOne.9472

PaxTheGreatOne.9472

Well generally I see commanders purposely attacking bothe other factions early in matchup destroying their zergs through sheer de-motivation, then just own the map for the next 150 minutes. A big part of WvW is also not being demotivated by wiping a few times.

As long as splinters of the 2 other factions remain, the cycle remains, and karma farm exists, if 1 faction leaves… still no problem, if 2 leave the map turns 1 color.

I see blues defending their keep , which sometimes makes commanders ignore blue keep. but it doesn’t matter, if they are camping and no-one comes the blue people waste a lot of time, and then when an attack does come they often are afk, unprepared and often wipe… destoryin their investment and a lot of effort…

EOTM’s most dangerous attacks are spectral wall necro’s …. when traited for terror they tend to make good bags instantly… Placing the wall and seeing everybody falling can be very gratifying. You still see newbs and noobs just jump after their commanders… And the necro will be hunted down… which can be a mission on it’s own…

Increased Bleeding Stacks

in Guild Wars 2: Heart of Thorns

Posted by: PaxTheGreatOne.9472

PaxTheGreatOne.9472

I doubt the release of the condition caps will debalance the game. The fact conditions can be ignored above the cap is a stronger incentive to release the cap, then shifts in the meta would be to not release the cap. The cap was in place to handle loads from players, but in effect caused half of the game outside 1 vs 1 encounters to be non viable for more then half the games armors, traits, weapons, foods, buffs.

Conditions were viable in special niche area’s ingame: 1vs1 encounters in Pve, condition support in PvE and roaming in WvW and were part of the PvP meta for the better part it has existed, but all group content was severely hampered by the cap. doing world bosses with a condition build has cost me a few chests at low area WorldBosses in the past..

Most people in WvW especially in guild groups know the relative value of conditions, the better part of people runs condition reduction (melandru, antitoxin, sunless, trooper, hoelbrak) with food (lemongrass & poultry soup or the cheaper variant(s)) effects of conditions in WvW are limited as long as people stick together.. I doubt we will be able to stack more then 25 bleeds on anyone ever, and if it’s done it’s a Flurry attack from a warrior, and the stack is removed in seconds… in any case where you’d be alone and meet a conditions group now you run or die (when you receive 25 bleeds and poison, 10-15 torment, terror, and confusion from a ranger/thief, mesmer and a necro you’ll be dead, as you would die 1 vs 3 or 4 in DPS situations)

In PvE most conditions are stackable to 3 maybe 5 stacks from enemies, but sometimes you get 2 or more distinct conditions as is, in rare cases (mostly dungeons) stacks of 25 are reached and fatal. It is good you can die of something in pve The fact stacks would be unlocked would benefit the community due to the damage actually being procced and calculated instead of fading away. It would allow condition users functioning very efficient in Dungeons instead of cancelling eachother out. Allowing condition players to play together.

For PvP I expect the pressure from conditions wouldn’t be much different from what it is now as 2 or 3 condition users focussing 1 player will keep destroying the sole player. Then again most will lose from 2 or 3 dps as well… Only thing could be perfectly timed epidemics on overstacked players (revenants?) or people with temporary invulnerability to condition dmg, which would allow for really spectacular bombs. I doubt honestly when condition caps are released it really matters if you spike somone with 24 or 48 bleeds, as you’ll die in both cases if you cannot remove, with 2400 condition dmg this should be around 125-133 bleed/tick (2500-3000/tick or 5000-6000/ tick, both tend to be fatal in 3 to 5 seconds…) 2400 condition dmg is not impossible and epidemic could keep people away…. Grouping down people using condition builds requires TIME, as time is the only valuable resource in PvP the grouping down of enemies with more then 2 people is a waste of time…

Generally
It could make necro condition very strong again, and IMHO mesmer will trail behind due to the rediculously short conditions, ranger will find a very clear use as trapper/thief killer, condithief will stay where it is now, and Sword warrior might gain some love… Earth attunement would become more the AOE blind and the blast finisher and the wall…
But we could play TOGETHER.

And BEST things will be:
We can use more condition players in an instance…
We could gain credit on world bosses easier now with a full condi build
We no longer have to solely rely on “zerk is king, all others are bleerghhh META”
We will be able to use severral new armors types in group events/instances

Unlocking:
rampager(= minor, comparable to assassin for conditions& dmg hybrid),
sinister (max comparable to zerker for conditions& dmg hybrid),highest condition w. crit& power
carrion (max comparable to valkyrie for conditions& dmg hybrid),
rabid (max comparable to “knights” for conditions), highest condition w. crit&toughness
dire (max comparable to soldier for conditions) max condition builds
apothecary ( minor comparable to clerics for conditions)) life steal conditions?
(and others)

All these armors will find a place, finally more choices then zerk for pve/dungeons, soldiers for world bosses and soldiers/cavalier/knight combo’s for wvw

But I need to see this for real…. Condition awareness, reduction food and condition reduction/removal runes will become more interesting…. The return of use for half the games content will be more then interesting and the shift in META would be very interesting…if not EPIC!

Lastly I wonder how dangerous conditions are in certain cases… 5 Mallyx revenants? continually stacking resistance?…

Yes ascended armor is nice as well. Working on 3rd set now. have my 8 mains with full ascneded weapons and trinkets..

Expansion was to expand on character proffesions, it is the real new question atm.

Best graphics card?

You could upgrade to a GTX 960, but in the end you’ll only see noticeable improvement if you upgrade your mobo and CPU.

I went from i7 3770K to i7 4790K (kept GTX 970 from old system) and saw massive performance gains in WvW.

I expect you went from windows 7 to windows 8, in the process also changing from a pci-e 16x v2.0 support to a pci-e 16 v3.0 support, effectively doubling bandwith…

In windows 7 it is actually possible to enable pci-e v3.0 if both your Motherbord and Garphics card support it, which was no priority for most system builders as most people c-/sh-/wouldn’t care anyways.

For me it’s the difference between 35-45 FPS and 60 FPS in LA…

I run a i7 3930K Hex Core @3.8Ghz, with 2 GTX 780’s in SLi

I max out 2 cores or the 6 Primary cores effectively runing 33% CPU

and

I run my graphics cards with 2 screens attached at 1920*1200 windowed fullscreen so I can use the 2nd (1920*1080) for youtube/movies/internet (40-55% GPU)
OR I use the main screen full screen at 3840*2400 on the 1920*1200, for nicer images. (65-85% GPU)

FPS willvary from 150-160 (peak 185-200) when alone to 12 -20 FPS at World Bosses

The engine struggles to provide data on 100+ people spamming skills on their legendaries in the particle blob fest. Same with WvWvW Blob vs Blob (vs Blob) fights…

There are people ingame running i7 5960X’s with titans having 5000 dollar/euro machines who experience the same….

Fastest atm are i5’s, high OC’d with Mid-high End GPU’s

And you can figure out what amount of cash you want to spend on cooling your rig, as the limited USAGE of threads (max 2) is the main problem of this game at present.. if they’d open this up to multicore.

Your GPU will not be the bottleneck at present.

560,570,660,670,760 will all be capable of running this game without serious problems

680,770,780,960,970,980’s Titans, are all more then capable to render the images certainly on 1920*1080 Trust us. These cards will remain partially (10-65+%) unused at this moment. Any SLi/ X-Fire is a over the top investment.

BUT if the game was improved to use a quad/multi- core optimized engine the CPU would not be the bottleneck anymore, and you would actually notice lower GPU’s being the bottleneck, but we have no idea if it’s considered or ETA’s on any such improvement even though it would be appreciated by a large part of the community… (hex/octacore users or hyperthreaded PC (AMD, Intel i7))

Well It’s perfectly logical to stab yourself through an armored door with a dagger, while setting it on fire and burning it with flamethrowers, and all kinds of other firedispensers have no effect at all….

Of course when your friend comes with 2 pistols he shoots holes in the door, but the fire, well nothing happens… guess fire proofing is mandatory in Tyria

been playing for almost 945 days now whichj is about 30 months, I spend roughly 25 tansmutaion stones/ 1, maybe 2, months so in these 30 days I bought ~20*25 transmutation stones worth ~12000 gems… This includes the precvious ones of course. used bothe the cheap and the expensive ones at the time, loved a skin while levelling.

Trust me I ’d pay 2k instantly…. not even going to think about it. 4k would also be ok, bui most would find it way to expensive…

But most of you would probably get 5 stones for 15-17 gold I guess.. as 4k gems will require the wallet for the majority of players.

I’d like to add (posted on the 3rd page first time I guess:

The LOCATION of the mastery bar is awkward. I would expect it to be coupled to the skills and traits menu., I understand it should be easiliy accessible, BUT make sure we can find it as well through this method as it is WAY more natural and logical in reflection to our present unlocks and builds..

SO either add a link to the mastery pane OR reduce the mastery box so we can only select where the experience goes and we can manage everything in the skills/traits and MASTERIES tab.

Played a ranger, and a ele, no additional features were unlocked, we got celestial stats gear and weapons. And I found general dps to be lacking as a result. I did notice I needed toughness sometiimes to stay upright but not to apoint where I would advise all people to get a toughness containing armor.

Conditions were reworked, as shown on the Wyvern boss fights, with condition stacks now running up to 60, and even 70+ some rumors say when cap was reached at 100 the number dissapeared and was replaced with a ! (exclamation mark).

This could be the introduction of an overflow, If bosses were all modified to allow this kind of stacks, condition dmg might be viable (though might (not) become meta )… 100 bleeds can be stacked by 4 maybe 3 warriors, making a possibility to get to overflow in dungeon as well.. stacks were reported for bleeds and for confusion… didn’t notice torment, vulnerability was still capped at 25.

We will see… And we will see if conditions will get a firm place in the new meta or not

The Biggest Concern about HoT

in Guild Wars 2: Heart of Thorns

Posted by: PaxTheGreatOne.9472

PaxTheGreatOne.9472

Hello Everyone.

If you are like me, you participated in the HoT stress test Beta today.
…and if you didn’t get to participate you are ravenously reading through forum posts trying to gather information regarding the Beta.

What I see is a lot of white knighting on the forums.

Players saying the game is “great” or that they “had fun.”
…and that is all good and well.

…but what we experienced today in the HoT “beta” is nowhere even near anything I would even call a beta or an alpha.

What we saw today was the next episode of the living story dressed up to appear like it will be expansion after some serious overhaul…. when there is currently nowhere near an expansion-sized chunk of content even close to finished for HoT.

I feel that continuing the living world…. putting up a pay wall and labeling it as an expansion is unacceptable….

Imagine Gw2 comes with a cup in which we receive our Living World updates, and that cup is now full.
In order to continue receiving Living world updates you are going to have to purchase this “expansion” which is just another cup to receive more Living World updates.

This is not an expansion…. this is more Living world.

For the Gw2 stress test betas, players were able to test “the game.” ….For the Gw2:HoT stress test beta we got a living story instance, that same living story instance made to look like an explorable map, half of a new profession, and a boss fight.

It looks like all of the work that has gone into the “expansion” so far amounts to one episode of living story….. and I really feel like this is a final “sinking ship” cash grab move by Anet in order to get players to dish out money just to continue receiving the living world.

What I “beta tested” was the next episode of the Living World, and I would be insulted if HoT ends up being content we were going to see in future episodes of Living world hiding behind a pay wall.

Thank you for reading.

I hope we get some kind of story, even an addition to the living story would be fine, and I like the story, it’s part of the reason why I play a RPG or MMORPG…
Having no story whatsoever would make this a bit dim now would it. So be glad they continue the story. Even if you do not like the living story, it’s better then just some events and no lore, nothing at all…

You could see there was only a basic area available, and half the revenant proffesion…
THIS WAS A STRESS TEST They checked if the server could handle 100 stacks of conditions and from how many players… and how fast the melt would be on the boss.
It was no let’s get to see the whole game for free and enjoy the full expansion. It was a fragment, maybe a splinter even…

I cannot understand people expecting everything… even before the mechanics are being checked. Also why should they release more then just this area. In the actual OPEN beta for Gw2 we had the 1-15 zones…. some people said they entered AC story…

But that was 2 or 3 tests after the stress test, after the closed beta, and in the OPEN beta.

You think you’ve seen it all have you… well good for you.

And I was in the stress test. 2 times and it was a small area. yes, with a partially playable revenant. Why would you think this would be all.

If I was asked to pay 40 or 50 euro’s for te area we had played I’d QQ as well, but you didn’t even look at the minimap did you? The waypoints are there only for this tiny piece of map, And I really am sure there will be way more waypoints then the few what we’ve seen now (you had access to 2, I saw at least 8, noticed there were more but didn’t bother to count them. There is way more area, and this is only 1 map piece.)

And I feel he didn’t pay attention to the info presented. None at all.

i7’s do not have intel… the i5 could though.

I run 2 GTX 780’s on a i7 3930, I get widely varying FPS

from 150-170 in PvE with nobody around
to 100-80 with some people/ dungeons
to 40-70 in LA / minor events with some people
to 12-20 in WVW zerg battles, world bosses and so on.

Max settings, except for character limit, I have it at high, as highest will crash my PC sometimes, espcially in WVW triple zerg battles and the first spike at any world boss.

I run 2 780’s Sli-ed on a hex core i7 3930K on 3.8Ghz with 32 Gb ram, Windows 7 ultimate, unlocked Pci-E 16x v3.0 (for both cards, as win 7 doesn’t support it on base install) on a Asus Rampage IV Extreme MoBo.

Than again it’s a mostly flat img when @ 30 your computre could be copying the still img so often it still coughs out 53 FPS, when at 60 I tend to get 63 FPS ingame.. The splash / char select screen is autocapped at 60 (so also 63 in my case)

(used to get 210 FPS there, for nothing , so I’m glad they changed it.)

maybe you should unlock the fine dyes, they range from ~2 silver to 20 silver and are avaialble on the TP….

I can understand why you have problems with the rest, I’ve been playing from headstart and I have 11 dyes missing. form all… those 11 dyes will set me back ~220 gold. I have the truly expensive ones. all of them, and most can be replaced by cheaper dyes. shadow abyss is nice, but midnight ice will do the job just fine…. (is most expensive example. 222 gold and 29 gold…) if you do not mind a bit greyer you could use iron 10s or the ebony stater dye some of the other midnight dyes might be intersting if looking for a truly dark color.

On the other side, celestial 78 gold might be very nice, but check out blue ice 8 silver…

Many dyes have comparable counterparts for anly a small part of the cost. Only black is truly expensive. white is a bit less costly…

Celestial Stat time gate

I also showed you in the examples above why if you release the DPS is everything Meta, celestial is way better, as long as you use more then 5 of the provided stats.

To me, that makes the zerker version 42% more powerful than the celestial version. (The full might version worked out to 37.9% more powerful) Unless there’s some way that 600 points of condition damage makes up for it.

Full version with fury is 36.5% more powerful.

What am I missing?

You’re missing the fact there are reasons NOT to look at absolute power but at versatility.

The zerk build I posted is stronger: at peak 40%, but in return it’s squishy.

The celestial build has the following advantages:
-usable condition dmg, especially when stacked,
-healing power to make a non healing build still heal like a monk,
-toughness, enough to be not squishy anymore,
-6k added health,
- it retains the possibility to do okay damage, with a usable critical chance, at 189% ferocity….

And NO, it will not be my first choice in dungeons. But it will stay alive in content with pressure, where you need to be versatile, and need to be able to heal on demand, for decent amounts, have access to condition dmg.

I would like, when you compare the 2, to ask yourself to mind DPS, but ALSO watch:
- effective health (so mitigation and health) and
- healing capability (remember water has an auto AOE heal called soothing mist which does scale with healing power, staff 1 will heal, as does skill 3, and skill 5 will give regen, skills 3 &5 have water fields affected by helaing),
- condition dmg will make applying fire more then just an icon on a skill bar and earth attunment more then just a blast finisher and a blind….

And yet it can and will crit, if you build for it it can get a sustained amount of quite okay damage. Allowing you to be versatile.

Which was what you miss… versatility.

if you want dmg go zerk or assassin
if you want condi dmg go rabid
if you want tanky go nomad
if you want heals & dmg go zealot
if you want heal & tanky go clerics
if you want heal & tanky and condition go settler
if you want a health pool and tanky and power go sentinels or soldiers
if you want a health pool and tanky and conditions go dire
if you want dmg and conditions go carrion, rampager or sinister

if you want ALL go CELESTIAL, okay you will not have 1400 condition dmg or 2600 power or 25 k health, but you will be versatile.

I’ll be honest I use my celestial armor only in situations I know my zerk armor is not what I need. The Grawl Fractal or Mai Trin, Or in very big crowded events with a lot of presure (Lion’s Arch siege comes to mind) or in World VS World. I retain sustain, I can be healer, or DPS or conditions in 1 keyslash….And when buffed I retain enough damage capability.

And this versatility =/= max dps =/= max dot =/= max healing =/= max survivability…

But it is powerfull in it’s own way. AND the timegate is good, iot will keep noobs away and leave the people who thought it through.

It is relevant as it w-/c-/sh-ould show the fact Celestial is the most powerfull stat combo ingame at this moment, due to the fact it provides way more stat points and the ability to buff DPS with food and buffs and banners makes the loss in DPS minor and/or irrelevant.

I also showed you in the examples above why if you release the DPS is everything Meta, celestial is way better, as long as you use more then 5 of the provided stats. This knowledge is relevant in explaining why this set should be gated in the first place.

The fact you continue to be unwilling to try to see my view and I try to show you and others I see and understand why you and me want these stats, and show the benefits of having more stats, and why there SHOULD be a timegate makes for a very one sided conversation.

My motivations for releasing the timegate or not, are based on a wider fiel of view compared to your: " I just want it now" motivation, which you seemingly cannot grasp.

I see you are only focussed with the aquisition of the Charged Quartz yourself. You must understand when you have crafted your armor when it still is gated as it is now it will remain somewhat special as you know what effort went into making it and once done you’ll see why the facts are relevant and why it should be behind a timegate. Also if everybody could get it yesterday you would not have had any problems getting it but It would take over in -some meta’s- instantly, leaving the fact you have it no longer relevant as it would provide no more bonusses over other users anymore, or would it? As long as the shifting meta is the main valid balancing system withing Gw2 you should be glad this is not readily available.

The topic how valid it would be to release the timegate on a unique stat combo with 3505(armor, weapon ,trinkets), 546 (rune) stat points for armor/weapons/trinket while all other present combinations provide 2577 (27% less), 275 (rune, 48% less) should have a clear conclusion…. If you include food you’ll notice dragon’s revelry starcake is OP, even though the stat gain is limited for each stat it provides 315 points and 20% magic find, vs 170 points for normal food.

This is my opinion. I voice it. And I try to give my opinion a foundation for discussion.

I never said you couldn’t have it, I never said you were wrong, I just said I have a different opinion: just saying it shouldn’t be timegated and finding it not worth to start a valid discussion is too simple, and shows only self-interst for the short-term, what is 30 days on 950?

Good Luck in making your Celestial set. I hope it brings everything you expect from it.

And there is more then 1 meta… Meta = based on a few parameters, and if the parameters shift the meta shifts with it, leaving a meta for each set of parameters.

These 2 ele builds have been made based on Wup Wup and Zojja’s stats, with IMHO relevant runes, foods and utility, I tend to compare with easy applicable buffs in mind, all based upon staff with a dps staff build as background. I understand runes of strength could be more logical in case of might stacking builds, but not in max stat vs DPS comparison. I do not prefer travelers due to the loss of stats in the 25% speed buff, due to the fact ele can self buff swiftness easily…, the boon and condition duation could be nice though…. divinity is still the rune providing most stat points rune of the pack providing only 300 (highest of others) and divinity providing 8+10+12+14+16+18= 78*7 for a total of 546 points, though losing out on other potential buffs.

http://gw2skills.net/editor/?fFAQFAWnMISLD20AWPAdEIgAQIlMcgIDEVq47vA-TxBBABA8AAiZ/BzU+loOAGuAAOqEkU1fIFwWLjA-e

For a full celestial/divinity build, leaving 2000 power, 45% crit chance, (724 ferocity) 189% crit dmg, 624 condition dmg, 724 healing power, 2500 armor and 18k HP

VS

http://gw2skills.net/editor/?fFAQFAWnMISLD20AWPAdEIgAQIlMcgIDEVq47vA-ThBBABYt/o8DgHAQe6AY4CAUp6PnpEkUA6pMC-e

Full zerk/scholar build leaving 2685 power, 55% crit chance, 213% crit dmg, 0 condition dmg, 100 healing power, 1893 armor and 12k HP

Both builds can stack bloodlust (250 power), can stack another 270 power& condition dmg with might (max 750 when assisted) (totalling 520/1000 power&270/750 condition dmg (self/assisted)) and gain 20% critical chance by blasting a firefield….

Considering condition dmg will be way more viable and selfsustainability is way more important in pve then it is in dungeons the choice for celestial is a logical one. These stats (based upon a sigil of accuracy and bloodlust with relevant foods) are clear maximisations, of course the choice for divinity runes can be debated but doesn’t step outside the bounderies of these builds.

Max dmg for celestial in a good buffing party will be 15-20% lower then a zerk (3000 power,65% crit buffed vs 3600,75% crit buffed) while retaining good defensive and support capabilities…. with banners and empower allies the difference shrinks even more…, the high toughness might attract fire from spawns though.

The fact META only looks at DPS will change once the importance of pure DPS for dmg shifts… likely through more implementation of high amor low vitality enemies, and through the -possible- removal of the condition stack cap…

In general celestial is way more versatile then zerker, BUT it doesn’t allow for any maximisation other then max total amount of stats…… (which is very powerful in it’s own way…)
It is however way more powerfull compared to any other stat as long as you are not focussing on pure DPS, leaving the timegate appropriate for now….

Luckily I already have sinister, on warrior, ranger, necro and mesmer.

The scaling works best with
warriors as you can benefit from huge amounts of might and fury,

necro leaves potential for good power but can be very powerfull in a hybrid build based on runes of the aristocrat.

Mesmer becomes quite squishy but will have power stats to fight objects (which tends to be a problem when running rabid or dire) and synergizes with runes of perplexity or tormenting

And ranger will be left with a reasonable build as trapper or (SB &) A+? condition build, preferably with runes of the Krait (possible 48 sec recharge on entangle makes it interesting.)

Can you explain me why:

zerker (Zojja), knights(Beigarth), clerics(Tateos), valkyrie(Gobrech), rampager (Forgemasters), assassins (Saphir), Settler(Leftpaw) , Carrion (Occam), apothecary (Veldrunner) sets are easily available and craftable

rabid (Ferratus), dire (Morbach), magi(Hronk), soldiers(Ahamid), sentinels(Wei Qi), cavalier(Angchu) and shamans(Zintl) are non craftable, only lootable, but ARE available on TP

NOT available on the trading post as insignia’s and inscriptions:

Zealots (Keepers) is recipe bound (2000 gold for RECIPES for a heavy ascended, 400 for light)
nomads (Ventari) is recipe bound
celestial (WupWup) is timegated, and recipe bound
sinister (Verata) is recipe bound and timegated (though poorly)

And Givers doesn’t have and asended set?

You can neither. Just deal with it. it isn’t a grind either, it’s just a time gate.

If this would all be logical… well…

I have not said you couldn’t get it, I just say it was gated to keep some ppl from just buying the armor overnight, which wasn’t in accordance with the lore of the zephyrites at the time of the release.

I just pointed out in one of the above posts you could have made enough for 20 full sets of armor by now, if you had put in some effort.
After failing to do so you thought today: “well just make one celestial armor” and you found out it’s timegated… and you’re crying it’s all bad.

I had 45 Charged Q. Crystals when I thought let’s try to make an armor, and I did it the same day. It took me about 45 seconds for 45 days in my home instance with one of my (then 9) alts. Just load up 3-5 full stacks of quartz crystals and you’re good. you do not even have to leave the area untill you are done. if you have 5: just click deposit.

There is a god place in the norn starting area if you need a close by spot to forge them and you would need an alt. It is at Hangrammr Climb you can safely stand there with an low lvl alt with 1 20 slot backpack. just log in for 30-50 days and make whatever you need… Sheamoor Garrison will have a skill point a little more southwards which works well as well. Or use the skil point in your home intance. you could take a home portal stone there for 6-7 weeks and be done as well…

Understand everybody who has celestial gear (not trinkets) at the moment did so as well. I do not see why we need a change.

And if you have the quartz node in your homeinstance, it sometimes drops the Charged Quartz when mining.

relax.

It was made so people could aquire it over time. the crystals to make the charged crystals were very cheap, and still are.

I also do not understand why everybody wants his stuff yesterday.

And for the ascended version you’ll need the same inscription/insignias as for exotic, so the timegate is the same. I vaguely remember an exact thread about this being up yesterday….

If you wanted it so bad:

It was introduced about 600 days ago, so you could have fused 600 Charged Quartz Crystals by now, enough for 20 armors…. Why didn’t you start then. I have a full celestial armor on my ele, It’s was way more powerfull back in the days, before the ferocity patch… Most armor pieces had 2 or 3 % crit dmg but celestail had more up to 5% now it has 70% of the ferocitty of a zerk set, 70% of the precision and 52% of the power, of course it does come with all the other stats, having more stat points then any other piece, allowing you to be very versatile but weak in all fields….

It is viable if your build uses 6 or more stats on the armor. so if you do not run conditions and do not spec for healing it’s already less usefull then a mix of othergear or a different set. (saying if you never go into earth except for the blast finisher, and play mostly fire and lightning ) it’s already useless for ele’s.

In the end it is best suited for ele’s.

And 1 person doing DPS… That’s what you get running a dungeon with a WvW commander squad… Wet noodle DPS… but a lot of sustain… In the end only kohler proved to be a minor problem, and the duration of the paths… 35 min/path while I’m used to do 3 in 45 to 50 minutes tops?

Could have been worse yet they could have been mace/shield warriors, mace hammer warrior and pistol dagger thief…

_The LOCATION of the mastery bar is awkward. I would expect it to be coupled to the skills and traits menu., I understand it should be easiliy accessible, BUT make sure we can find it as well through this method as it is WAY more natural and logical in reflection to our present unlocks and builds..

SO either add a link to the mastery pane OR reduce the mastery box so we can only select where the experience goes and we can manage everything in the skills/traits and MASTERIES tab._

/addition 27-3-2015

Overall a perfect performance.

I didn’t get the feel of the revenant tbh.
I like condi play And I have seen mre then 35 stacks on wyvern so I am hoping max cap is now 100(+) it would allow for decent Condition usage, I hope it will be implemented into the “original guild wars 2” for bosses and also for dungeons, allowing condition builds in dungeons as well.

I did the content on ranger and on mesmer as well. Both having more dps and wider range of skills due to the fact all traits were opened up.

I liked the hangglider, wanted to try out the mushrooms but didn’t understand the function or it could have bugged on me. I hope the second try will have reset pouints so I can try again, I’d like to see the functions of the hangglider with the upwinds…
It could be a bit more snappy, if you would open up a normal higlider when falling like a rock you’d probably rip off the wings/skin

Framerate was a bit lower then in the main game, but stable. We’ll see what happens.

Celestial Stats

I don’t want to play this game for the hours and hours it would take to be able to level my tailor to 500, and craft a full set of ascended celestial.

Anet could drop the stupid time gate so it wouldn’t matter.

I don’t want exotic celestial stats a month from now. I want them NOW just like how I could purchase any other stat combo now. I have the gold for it. I don’t have to level a tailor to 400 and wait a month to get in any other stat set. At the very least they should be TP tradeable.

It’s stupid kitten like this that made me leave this game nearly a year ago. Now like a year later NOTHING has changed. I’m very disappointed.

And I really really don’t get all the apologists in this thread. “Durrr its there you just need to work 10x harder to get it so stop all your complaining durrr.”

I just stopped replying to them because they think they’re so smart.

Any other stat armor can be bought outright. Celestial can’t. It baffles me why this is hard for people to understand. I’m all for equal grounds but it seems like its fanboys who refuse to see something could be wrong.

I think I do not mind the wait. I played over 900+ days, since head start. I own a celestial armor(exotic) celestial weapons (ascneded and exotic) and trinkets (ascended) as the ascended trinkets are NOT timegated saving me quite some time.

I doubt I’d advise anyone to make an ascneded celestail armor, but I can see the niche uses of such exotic armor…. either with divinity runes, or travelers, and dragons revelry starcakes, with or without zerk and or celestial weapons….

no there is 2 reasons to use celestial

1 it has more stat points then any other armor
2 they are spread over everything so you can be versatile in all fields, especially usefull in versatile classes making use of all stats (ele, guardian…)

In most if not all cases other specific armor would be better as you can max out stats, you can tailor sets to your sepcific needs, and if you use less then 6 stats in your build standard 3 stat armor will be preferable over celestial

(if you look at exotic celestial compared to zerker you’ll notice:
celestial provides 329 points and zerk provides 245 points showing celestail has a pre in the fields of total amount BUT
if you use only power precision ferocity toughness and vitality, with no focus on conditions or healing skills (so no related traits_) 94 points of celestial have no actual value leaving you with 235 points you actually use..

Of those 235 47 are for power , 47 for precision and 47 for ferocity compared to 101 power 72 precision and 72 ferocity for zerker… leaving you with half the amount of power and 70% of the 2 other stats…this could be worked out as well for things like clerics. where a definate choice was made as well, or any other 3 stat armor.

In classes based on full dps builds celestial is usually non viable, BUT celestial elementalist can be very versatile, same for revenant, engineer and guardian…..

It’s still a shame ferocity removed a large chunk of the original viability of clestial armor, which used to be flat critical dmg…..

No you don’t get it. Let me re-explain.

I DON’T WANT ascended celestial. I’m NOT interested in the 5% increase you get from being ascended. I’m NOT interested in the account bound ascended gets.

What i AM interested in is its stat selection, being rounded stas, with the title “celestial”
Currently i can go buy a full set of zerker gear for ~40g or probably even cheaper. Exotic or lower. Something achievable even for casual players, but used by “hardcore”

You say celestial is GREAT for casual players, yet to get that SPECIFIC stat set, it’s gated 20x worse than anything that’s currently available for other stat sets.

Anet could introduce a crafted exotic set, that’s not soulbound for trade on tp, using the same skins and models as another set since other items use the same visual models.

The fact that this is NOT available, is the problem. The only available celestial items, are END GAME items. Everything else is available at almost any level, and tier.

Maybe they included it in the expansion, idk, but the problem still exists.

Well even for exotic celestial insignia/inscription you will need the same charged quartz crystals… The SAME as for the ascneded as you need to make the same exotic insignia/inscription to make an ascneded inscription as the EXOTIC insignia/inscription is a prereq for ascended. Same as making zojja stats you will need and exotic berserker.

If you do NOT want ascended good for you, it saves a LOT of cash. but still you will have to make the same 5 charged quartz crystals, for each inscription/insignia or trinket

Even making those is a breeze, if you have the home instance skill point you can travel there if you want to, or you can do it in Drytop, while farming the crystals. (I’d buy ‘m in the TP as for 1 silver a piece I’m not going to worry much….

I’d make a Norn alt load it up with 4 stacks maybe even 8 stacks of quartz crystals run to the place where you slain the worn in your lvl 1 mission and park it there, log in every day for 30 secs craft a Charged Quartz and click deposit materials.

Problem solved, it should take you 15 minutes over the time of 1 month to get your 30 mats for an armor. you could be doinge it for another 2 months, for ascneded trinkets and weapons.

Because maybe i am not able to play everyday or devote so much time anymore to the game. The last thing i want do is drop a ton of gold, and waste a bunch of time for ASCENDED armor that i don’t even want. I’d be fine with exotic celestial and stuff. A couple of my builds use celestial, and Now I’d be forced to use another build, use a build i’m not into, or just not be able to enjoy wvw

gw2 is supposed to be casual

So don’t be so fanatical about getting this yesterday. If you’re casual do this casual as well. Just be happy you didn’t make it when I did, before the ferocity patch… As you would be mad cause they nerfed your armor to ribbons. The one you needed t make timegated mats for….

Had some nice experience waiting on CoF to open,:

your content is being downloaded…

Problem was why would the loader do so? I hope I DL-ed CoF a long time ago. after 3 or 4 tries I gained access, I think it was due to the instance opener being quite slow to load in, and the instance therefore still not being confirmed or something.
But it’s your thing, you find out.

I like the fact i can start while still DL-ing parts of the patch, but it slows the opening of maps a bit. (writing and reading simultaneously cuases more stress on the rig.)

My observations till now. hope you can do something with it…

GLASS: Sinister Swrd/Swrd & LngBw Warrior
(when in combat with banner & food: ~2950-3100 power, 1950-2100 condition dmg,
+60% condi duration, 85% crit chance. @ 15-20 stacks of might….)
(Little bit more support, very fast res, perma banner uptime)

Rabid Sinister Swrd/Swrd & LngBw Warrior (when in combat with banner & food: ~2800 power, 1800 condition dmg, +50% condi duration, 85% crit chance. @ 15 stacks of might…. BUT 2950 armor…. and adrenal heal.

http://gw2skills.net/editor/?fJUQNAscTjMdU5ZdHOewJagkgC7onBnDgKY41VFA-TxBEABJ8EAQUJYyK/kU9nU2fAgTBww6DIFwiCrA-e

Both do well generally you’ll have 15-20 might up. rabid build due to fast hands can swap faster, 1st build can stack might with firefield and banner if needed and possible….

remember:
the might will allow for 450-600 addititonal power AND condition dmg (15-20 stacks),
the banner will provide both 170 power and condition dmg… if available

So it’s much more balanced then most would think.

When buffed and stacked you’ll do 1600-1800 dmg (crits) on sword auto… but it’s fast, and bleeds each hit, or cripples allowing you to disengage when needed. they’ll bleed anyways,
25 bleeds (easy) , 5 torment and burning, 2 immobilzes, fire field, blast(s) and a leap….

Lastly:
You can swap out parts of armor in the 2 builds I showed you to add some toughness or power as needed… (chest and boots will be ~100 points exchanged, legs add a further 50, gloves and shoulders another 50, helm is 34….)

Celestial Stats

in Guild Wars 2 Discussion

Posted by: PaxTheGreatOne.9472

PaxTheGreatOne.9472

Celestial is fully available in PvE and WvW as Celestial armor and Wup-Wup armor, it’s availablr weapons and trinkets as well. (and ascneded trinkets being solaria, lunaria, mursaat token and sysygy , forgot the last one, and the other 2 amulets..)

With it’s own skin color for Wup-Wup.

It’s crafted based upon charged quartz crystals. Recipe’s should be available, Ascended recipe’s are available from all Master Crafters.

And no I do not need the celestial sets with ultra easy acces in WvW, I hope to see some unlocked in dungeons in HoT (maybe, with zealots and some new other stats but I’ll see in the future.)

It’s crafted EASILY, it requires about 125 quartz crystals / trinket/ insignia / inscription costing 1 gold 25 from TP and 5 days to fuse and make 5 Charged Quartz Crystals (account bound)

Recipe’s are easily available:
recipe for jewel is less then 2 silver
recipe’s for exotic insignia and inscriptions are ~8 silver
recipe for exotic armor, weapons and trinkets range from 5 silver to 30 silver.
BOX recipe’s for armor are also available.

Unlocking all exotic celestial recipe’s will set you back about 5 gold.
Oh and of course crafting level 400 on -ALL- the neccesary professions

If people would have fused some crystals over the period they would have been available they would have had 100’s by now… since it was release during the Bazaar of the Four Winds being an older release launched on July 9, 2013 so in the past 21 months you could have made ~600 give or take a few….

I really wonder why everything has to be done instantly.
I have the wup wup weapons crafted (staff for ele), a scepter, a torch for mesmer (only for the skin) A full armor set, and I just did it 1 piece at a time. You’ll be making an ascended item each 5 days, which is interestingly enough time to also aquire your T7 mats for the better part. I earn about 50 gold every 5 days or so (just some dungeons) and it fits quite well TBH.

It used to be so powerfull pre nerf. It is nice but considerbly less powerfull now.

maybe, if they could actually render a mirror-img of a normall right handed character it would all be done with just reversing 1 of 3 axes…., and confusing… P/D or D/P? A/M or M/A? I do not see any other problems…

Then having an asura outfit on your norn or charr will create a norn sized asura, or vice versa, making a charr out of your asura, will make a charr barely bigger then a mini.

And remember they are outfits, dress up…

Tequatl crashes

in Guild Wars 2 Discussion

Posted by: PaxTheGreatOne.9472

PaxTheGreatOne.9472

I’d suggest lowering the character limit & general settings…
Removing reflections: all and replacing it to terrain and sky. If I DC at tequatl it’s always the start of a new dps round.

Also make sure you limit your field of view (FoV)… (zoom in), The change allows for a very big FoV now allowing for even more players and effects on screen (first tequatl after patch was instant DC.)

It is always due to a large amount of effects, a large amount of traffic and a corresponding FPS dip.

When I have a lower character limit & less FoV, I notice the dips and effects a a bit less….
The actual lowering of settings works less.

Tequatl and other world bosses affect my game more then zerg vs zerg vs zerg battles. Ik WvW I get skill lag and skill block, at tequatl I get DC’s instead.
Really hope they release a multithread application instead of keeping the present 2 thread game, allowing the game to scale over 4 threads or more threads would be very nice.

I just left a party and it hung, the player was from another server, Not my server, guess whatever the developers did, crashed the Magaserver. and it wreaks havoc with cross server parties (being dungeons/fractals mostly.) run 3 full path dungeons before it in 3 other parties : no problem…
