Well having 15 lvl 80’s (and deleted 2 lvl 80’s before) with in total 8 map completions, I must say an alt is for specific purposes mainly, if you would do any and all things on an alt it would become a main as well…
In the end I have 8 mains now, with ascneded trinkets, salvage o matics, all bag slots, perm tools, and so on, I also have 7 alts, some for wvw, some for dungeons… some for just running around when I want to experience a bit from the time I was doing maps on a previousalt, now a mian, I unlocked all factions, I did most story possibilities….
I did living story on 3 characters completely, so I could and can compare why cetrain thingas are ok and why not. I even did the better part of the LS with a condi based mesmer…
If you do not care for all that, jiust explore the waypoints you need (I suggest just running the personal story, so it’s cleared from your screen and you unlock the better part of the world. Even though it gets boring after well 2-3 maybe 4 times (I did it 13 times now still have 2 stuck at 60 and 40)

guardian pve is a with boon buffs, dmg mitigation and reflects
warrior pve is a high DPS class, with power buffs, and AOE insta res
generally guardians are preferable for wvw in (semi)tank gear,
and warriors are preferablefor pve/world bosses
Both excell at dungeons… there is no reason why you should pick one or other from dungeon perspective
In the end bnth can be used to carry pugs through dungeons, warrior buffing all party 1000 power and gardian keeping ’m alive with aegis, blinds, boons and so on…
For optimum efficiency guards rely on warriors, and the other way around.
guardians have a low health pool but the best burdt heal in game, waarios have agiat health pool, and the best “healing signet” in game.
I prefer warriors, but mostly due to the enormous inpact I can have on ohers, I also play guards, and I’m mostly trying to kee myself alive, it’s a bit more tricky… but in doing so I generally also keep the others in party alive

I’ll be asking 1 question: does the i5 and the z976 allow for 32 pci-e lanes? (for 16x and 16x or is it 16x and 8x or lower?

If streaming mean you are showing your exploits on a videochannel, I’d suggest you put a waiting period between you doing something in wvw and actually transmitting it.
Too often we see people who are abviously recording stuff and noticing enemies changing tactics to a point where it seems they have precognition…
Do not stream WvW directly. It makes playing WvW a pain for all your fellow zerg mates. Do not destroy your own gameplay.
Oh and I’ve build PC’s before, all things are easy , just fitting the cooler for the CPU can cause some trouble. just make sure you have all the components. and some thermal paste.

Saying people who wear zerk can dodge… well… It also says they cannot play well cause If they need to dodge the party is doing things wrong, dodging is loss of DPS. Why wasn’t target reflected? blinded? wasn’t aegis used?
I had a very nice full path a short while ago in AC, with some Pugs and i was on my staff ele,100% glass with scholar. I lost the bonus once at kohler all other moments of the path I was perfectly shielded party comp: warrior, thief, guard, ele scepter, ele staff. I had 43 minutes on my food before start, I had 5 when all paths were done. 38 minutes for AC 1 till 3…. Bosses under 5 seconds with full bomb. except for spiders and kohler. Good stacks, good use of food, and buffs…

Just get your Birthday scroll and 60 Tomes of Knowledge… the journey will take 10 minutes… including gearing and skinning…
Alt: 0% Map, then figure out what to do. Story for 2 Bl keys, and some other stuff, unlock the dungeons you want, or ignore everything and just go wvw / pvp

Even if you’re max level you’ll always be scaled to your map event’s level + 2 levels, up to max lvl 80. this is done to make you do content the normal way instead of standing there and seeing all enemies melt each time you press a button.
So you are never really OP (ehmmm, you’ll oneshot stuff till lvl10-15 when running zerk meta though, also not helping friends in the process… Only way to help friends level is to follow them and kill whatever they tag….. and aid in buffing and boosts)
This is done purposely to avoid dmg figures like you get on critters (the lvl 1 beasts in maps, which tend to go to 500k dmg in frostgorge wen buffed, stacked and fed…)

The fact my utilities and healingskills were gone underwater,
The fact some skills are not available under water
The fact aquabreathers are the 6th headslot under water (which I still tend to ignore)
Why I didn’t survive underwater whe I was lvl 50 or so (still had the white starter harpoongun and a lvl 0 aquabreather, never thought about it)
The fact foods overwrote, utilities overwrote, though this was clear pretty quick.
The fact traits were more then stats alone… (needed trait books)
The fact conidtion could be removed, but also reapplied way faster then I thought, casting my condi removal instant, dying of half a stack of bleeds a bit later due to CD
How to earn money efficiently, BLTP was clear after a couple of days (well at least a week TBH)
The fact I needed harvesting tools to gather stuff…
Crafting was pretty easy, weapon unlocks and story was clear, movement was clear. Water combat as such was clear, just the fact I needed completely different utility bar and a breather which was mostly a nuisance due to the fact it required it’s own upgrade components.
The importance of jewels was clear, but I didn’t expect them to be so powerfull and I never upgraded them at first though you can actually gain pretty much when upgarding jewels at lvls 35,50 and 65.
It took me a while to get used to the uselessness of conditions, though I now know they can be very usefull and an addition to gameplay, which was part of my secondary learning curve….
All these things I found out in my first 3 weeks of play….I know them now, some have been modified. Most things which were modified complicated things needlessly… and didn’t improve story or gameplay.

I run 2 780’s in SLI I never get them up to 100%, same for my i7 3930K Hex core (using Asus Rampage IV extreme both cards in a PCI-E 16x v3.0 slot on 16x AND PCI-E v3.0 enabled in windows 7, using NVidia RGB full range… No DSR
In area’s where I’m alone (no NPC’s no ppl) I get up to 170-210 FPS
In area’s where I’m with NPC’s I get up to 150 FPS
In area’s wehre I’m with players I get up to 120 FPS
In area’s with A lot of combat with NPC’s I get to 100 FPS
In area’s whee I’m in combat with a few players (allied) I get up to 80 FPS
In area’s whee I’m in combat with a few players (allied) I get up to 50-75 FPS
In area’s where I gget in combat with a (smaller) group I get up to 50-65 FPS
In cities with a lot of people I get up to 40-65 FPS.
In WVW zerk vs zerg combat I get up to 30-45 FPS, (Z vs Z vs Z 22-35)
In Boss events with a full map I get up to 18-25 (maybe 30) FPS
This is on max settings and Highes/Highest in ALL cases, with supersample, no v-sync
CPU is 30-40% max (say it means I have 4-5 cores active)
GPU is 50-65% max
Generally my GPU’s are capped at 60 FPS, Alse I’ll pay premium for the electricity…
Huge amounts of players , then heavy use of particle effects and full reflections tend to matter most in FPS lowering.
Engine is main bottleneck, not hardware. trust me.

Soldier has toughness, Toughness and the armor value of the armor combined form “total armor” used for damage reduction. So Soldiers will have a higher “total armor” value in the end compared to zerker armor…
Also the metal thickness in not shown. Soldiers might be able to withstand GS hits while zerk is only to deflect arrows? Cloth and leather will provide less armor then metals…
Precision can be lower due to the fact people want a heavier armor (Soldiers will have a lower precision then zerker). They might be stronger so they can still be accurate wearing heavy armor.

Only legendaries have their attacks modified, Most “animated” weapons have effects only when drawn, so do not check weapons stowed but wielded when previewing them, lastly Ech time I check up on these threads I wonder: why do people all want a 10 gold legendary…
I’m glad we do not have to numbercrunch 120 different weapon sets in WVW or world bosses for even MORE effects. I can’t see then anyways in the blur-spaghetti of particle effects, only my vidocard moans…
Suggestion: Wintersday Axe. even though the effect is minute it is there. I think it’s nice, also like the torch and the bows, the swords… well sword is ok, GS is ugly like almost all greatswords… I’m a true legendary greatsword hater…
Maybe when you’re lucky when HOT arrives you’ll get a nice axe…Maybe… or just doublecheck them… in previewusing wielded….

I doubt if any of you ever thought about the FUNCTIONALITY of armor and realism…
Something like the arah armor shows an light fast move armor, the dark set is a full plate one. who can compare those 2? it’s asthetics yes, and points on armor are functional weapons, things like horns and such can be for asthetics , but can also have a role…
When you wnt to make something more realistic some things are go, some things are also just plain duh…. like the lawless helm… in a combat situation such a helm would kill you.
In the end I prefer realistic armor, but sometimes I like the plain dress factor and deterrant function of dress armor as well… Some armor should seem scary, if persons start being afraid, conflict might be avoided.
Armor isn’t just for looks…

Not for dungeons with any full condi. I would kick somone with a full condi build myself, or leave. Last time 2 or 3 condi players is quite a while ago, but still…. It wil turn out to be annoying and sometimes way to lengthy as well.
I expect people to be honest about their joining a party, it’s a matter of good faith.
I kick naggers, whiners and people who make my run “not-fun” if I need to.
I kick trolls and block them and if needed I report them,
I kicked 4 people in 900 days of playing this game for being annoying…
I seconded at least 50 ppl’s kicks due to gear. Generally only in zerk(-meta) parties , I will kick scepter guardians, necro’s and mesmers quite fast, as I do shortbow rangers.
In l80 exp I’ll tolerate anything as long as it does dmg. even mace guardians. A zealot mace guard is something different then a clerics i know but I still hope people strive to efficiency. I sometimes play (partial) zealot necro/ele/guard and IMHO they can fit in zerk parties as well. but even though it would work I will not do so.
I kicked/ seconded at least 100 ppl for leaving party/ excessive AFK / the need for long phonecalls without any warning, but if someone asks I do not mind them being AFK and I’ll go on 4 man-ning the dungeon, reasons I do not object to are babies, phonecalls, food on (the) fire, toilet, door, and so on.
I do object to having to wait.
I do not care for a gear check, ANY good party with decent buffs and good (dungeon) gear will always outperform a l80 zerk without buffs, meta dungeon weapons / utility and food.

Well GW2 tactics are quite basic
TACTICS: in sequence:
1 STAY OUT OF THE RED CIRCLES/ AVOID ATTACKS (=stay alive)
2 If you cannot : DODGE
3 If you have a CONDITION which will kill you: REMOVE , if you’re damaged HEAL
4 RES DOWNED people
5 BUFF people
6 DPS
(7? Res PPL who are DEAD)
STRATEGY: best to worst:
1 Know it preferably by personal experience ( else wiki, youtube, dulfy)
2 Follow the commander, Read/Listen & Learn
3 If you do not know, ASK, preferably before you run into a situation & Learn
4 If not possible, do what the majority does. & Learn
5 Ignore everybody and just try
6 AFK and be useless / be dead and not res and rerun…

I have some ~140 booster left from levelling and 900 days worth of BL keys dropping and the few (XP/MF) I bought.
I still have
26 enchanted combat boosts
23 strength boosters
17 armor boosters
14 regen boosters
3 speed boosters (where do you think my enchanted combat boosts come from?)
11 crafting boosters
9 harversing boosters
14 MF boosters (I catually tend to use ‘m when farming, but I loathe farming so I tend to stack ’m after a while I actually bought 5 during the LA events)
20 karma boosters, I used to save up bottles and I use one if I go into EotM, but it happens only rarely, if I’m in WvW I prefer BL, sometimes EBG
12 XP boosters (I use them when levelling, and It one of the few I actually bought when on sale, they synergize with laureate booster, candy corn icecream and utility.)
9 kill streak booster (they might be usefull but other then orr or hirathi hinterlands they tend to lose quite some value.)
I bought experience boosters twice. But I tend to refrain from doing so now, as we now have birthday boosters and celebration boosters.
When do I use them?
I popped an armor booster, a strength booster and a rejuv booster once with a nomads/clerics build in WvW which was hilarious…
I sometimes use it to do extremely short timers on my hybrid warrior. (so I can solo all content on a condition based build with some power), It was more neccesary when I was still using rabid/rampager, but now I generally do not need them as often or at all now I have sinister/sinister.

I have 8 character with world completion so I’ll be constructive: I do not see what the problem is. As it is an alt based game for a big part, just make sure you can show off something on your alt as well, as the better part of achievements are probably done by your main…
2 wrs, 1 grd, 1 rng, 1 thf, 1ele, 1 ncr, 1 msm all 100%…. and 5 @ ~60%, 1@40%, 1 @20%
The 20% I tome levelled and When it was l80 it had 0% map, I do not think it should get a world completion star now, why would it be just, it had never seen more then the lvl 1 story and the crafing stations of the black citadel… i always ask ppl to bring a character with a lot of map completion to guild missions, I make parties based upon the stars as I can see some can go everywhere instantly and monitor their group…
Also I like getting the gifts of exploration , a.k.a. world completion things for every character, not once…

Dueling isn’t fair IMHO, as in PvE you’ll be using food, have full availability to get armor in any stat combo people are using rares/exotics/ascendeds. Some ppl do not use underwater weapons, you’ll have stacks from defeating spawns and such…..
Someone could have an ally pre buff him, or use a stat increase, be helped by allies, and so on. It isn’t balanced and It will only prove some people should have been in WvW/PvP but were unable to figure out how….
I’ll be honest and say PvP shouldnt be done in WvW as well I’m annoyed by GvG players destroying tick and filling up maps contributing nothing to the server, often ignoring bloodlust as well…
So dueling and PvP are the same IMHO so please go to PvP to enjoy it.
Please close this thread as we had several before it and this subject has too much southpark elements….To be taken serious OR to be taken into account.

well that horse has been dead so long and beaten so long te bones are here but only in the tiniest of pieces. even less then t1 bone…. a splinter of bone….
No PvP in PvE,if you want it go WvW, if you think it’s unfair or to big scaled : PvP
I posted before a person with full ascended will have 15,7% advantage over exotic users and 34% over ppl still in rares, not countin stacks, might and food, allowing for well over 1500 power advantage over other playerswearing the same type of stats and…. Who don’t care for PvP when playing, else they would have gone PvP or WvW in the first place…

-Old personal storyline reinstated, I do not mindthe NPE per se, though it’s slow and boring compared to the previous system.. well maybe just return it to it’s old progression as well, but leave the NPE rewards as the rewards are the sole improvement of the NPE upon the old levelling system. The rest is utter garbage and has been a total waste of the resources used to re-create it.

-Acces to LS 1 as far as instanced content could go,
-Maybe rework tower of nightmares as a 5 or 10 man dungeon
-TA FW/UP (missing path)
-Reinstate marionette as world boss
-Town clothes as armor skins.
-Acces to season 1 Halloween book scav hunt, I had my galbladder removed and wasn’t up to playing the game at the time. It is the only thing in game I didn’t choose to get or ignore but was forced to miss…. I have managed to get the 1st one (the non burning one) but had no time farming the second when I was finally able to sit (and no I don’t have a laptop, and putting a destktop in my bed to play a game while still drowsy from anesthetics and/or painkillers is a good way to sponsor computer store owners -.- )
AND:
I woud like a way to view all personal and LS story movies in sequence. I do not even mind this being chapterized and so on so we can relive the life of our character:
prereq would be completion of 1) the personal story and 2) the episode(s) from LS 1 & 2 to view it in color with you as the first person, else put in 1 of the (not featured in dialogues) destiny’s edge group (for personal story) or a member of the second warband as the person (LS 1&2) in the main role and show the movie parts missing in black and white when the piece is not fulfilled. SO all people can experience why LA is a mess, kessex hills is littered with scrap, why there are toxic events everywhere, why the aetherblade JP exist and so on and so people starting now can find their way to Dry top and SW.

If you have permanents jst running by is a waste of your actual buy… anything you harvest is a return on your harvesting tool…

Well for a durable light class with a lot of similarities with warrior play necromancer…
My suggestion would be a PBAOE transfusion well/markmancer with support options, very durable even with full dps gear (3/0/5/6/0)… but…:
You best chose your own build after leveling…
For a durable medium class I’d advise ranger, nice and easy levelling, versatile, but not a melee class, nor very adept at support… The way how you play ranger is up to you.
You will not die easily and your pet will be your biggest ally….
For a extremely versatile class I’d recommend elementalist, It’s uber squishy though and levelling is a real challenge…. It’s an easy class to start but one of the hardest to master.
It’s also the only one I do no feel frustrated on when I get downed…
3 other interesting classes if you want to go deeper into builds and mechanics I’d recommend thief (squishy, immense single/dual target DPS) and mesmer (can be quite durable even though it will seeem very squishy at start) and lastly guardian (it’s low healthpool requires good use of blinds, relect, shields and so on and when you are able to do so, you’ll be very valuable to your team and will be remarkebly survivable).
But for mostly single play the relaxed way I’d say necro, ranger, guard…
For concentrated high risk high reward I’d say ele, thief, mesmer

Despite your implications are my personality, none of this is my opinion. The only opinion I have given, is that PvE content is at large a colossal waste of time. That opinion holds as much weight as about anyone else’s, and is nothing special.
Yes that’s the main reason why gaming is a passtime…. Glad you noticed, PvE, WvW and PvP are part of this waste of time and that is why I love playing it in my free hours. Well at least the WvW and the PvE.

Would be so nice to run around in your ascended wit full food and buffs and all infusions and just gank newbz and noobs 24/7 now would it? something with the beginning of a southpark episode…
If you’re running ful asc, you’d be about 1.05^6 (34%) times more powerfull then starters in rares and 1.05^3 (15.7%) times as powerfull as ppl in exotics. given same race, build and armor… not counting food and utility, infusions and stacks if you have ‘m, nor counting mights and other things others could stack for you, you could be 1500 power ahead and fighting people with 10% or less effective armor…Who do not care for PvP, are not prepared and couldn’t care… about pvp and wouldnot appreciate being chain ganked once people woud find out htey lack skill and/or equipment
It isn’t a challenge. It’s unwanted. It’s gamebreaking, It would be unfair and last of all It would destroy the concept of a cooperative and open PvE…
So I repeat my opinon: No if wouldn’t be fair, go wvw you can do so over there and people are prepared for you, most of the time. Or go PvP. Thats why it’s there.

well all skills have cooldown, even though I understand what you men with the cooldowns on glyphs I still know the choice is important, you might want all the glyphs in earth for a blinding aoe on storms and 2 tanky elementals or you might want a lesser fire ele, a greater water ele and a icestorm, or just 2 ranged lightning elementals and a lightning storm… The choice does matter ( a lot)… even though you’ll need to wait out the full recharge… I would love a trait which would make glyphs function like handheld weapons with 4 independant CD’s but it could be too OP…. Just think about an ele casting 8 elementals in a very small timeframe….
Even if they would replace each other on seperate cd’s it would allow for almost perma up elementals even from the elite… and allow for 4 storms, tbh I think the skills would be a lot more viable then… just the cd’s…
But the weapons being not swappable is ok…

I like the crafting system.
While I might not have discovered everything I did manage to get 500,500,500,500,500,500,400,400 in the end. Some things are a bit strange (read cooking system as it is quite dependant and has long prereqs… but all other porffesions are easier then I would expect from an MMO
I ‘m happy I can craft almost everything I need up to 400 without recipes (except for legendaries) and I noticed quite some recipe’s scattered around karma vendors, which tend to be fun… Anybody for a wooden sword and a wooden dagger?
But in the end it is interesting enough to master, buit not more difficult then you should expect requireing refined mats (would be nice if refining tab would be on top) and 3 components made from it. (4 for ascended) and that’s about it. Ascended has recipe sheets anyways.
Like it. Do not change it. It will not serve any purpose, and I’ll add 1 remark: NPE. If they change it you’ll get a NPE crafting system. THAT’S SCARY!

so with staff *5 skills *4 attunements , 4 glyphs *4 and 1 conjure weapon (another 5) skills you’ll have 41 even…. oh and another 8 based on which elementals you happened to have cast… so 49 possibilites…
I run 2 glyphs, 1 conjure weapon and 2 arcane skills but it still leaves me with a decent amount of choices… (39)

I do not play pvp, I do not care about the dragonball arena, I go in, die 5 times and do a second one die 5 times and leave again. I do not like it. I liked the racing game in the zephyr sanctum as it does put ppl in a game together, I like southsun survival
But, no: It needs to be: just camp the center around the most powerfull buf and just wait until noobs attack solo…. farm newbz & noobs, and they’ll find it annoying so they leave & lose for the team and then the farmers cash their bags and continue.

5-10 days for en end-game weapon… I do not know if this is long compared to other companies.. I must say I find the grind in this game manageable tbh.

well, recap:
Ascended armor has no other functionality atm other then the infusion slots and a 5% higher armor rate which is useless in most content now present as we know when to dodge… In WVW and in fractals it has a benifit being stronger in defence and infusble, and it will add a few points.
ascended weapons will add 5% damage and therefore have use @ lvl 80.
ascended trinkets are more usefull then exotics, due to the fact they are infusable. the stat increase isn’t very high. nominally.
All things combined weapons/armor and trinkets give a +5% stat boost, a +5% dmg and a +5% to defence
Armor 2% stats on total.. +5% def @ lvl 80 for 650 gold 6 infusion slots.
weapon 1% stats on total.. +5% dmg @ lvl 80 for 40 gold 1 or 2 infusion slots
trinkets 2% stats on total… for well 10 gold and time. 5-7 infusion slots
backpack +0.2 stats on total for 100 gold 1 i or 2 infusion slots
The stats on trinkets are 5% higher compared to exotic trinkets, as are armor and weapon, but together they add 5% tot the total, so only a weapon will ad 1% stats and 5% dmg…
And it will account for a slight boost, power and dmg strongly negated if a player is used to high might and fury uptimesin the case of Zerk.

The actual value of ascended to all modifiers is a small one. Just the raw effects of ascended and full including ascended armor are 5% and 10% on top of the exotic.
But you can get another %’s for almost nothing , so why bother too much with paying 700 gold premium, unless you got a real purpose…:
The sigil of force will NOT scale, it will stay 5% for 5 gold
The sigil of night will NOT scale, it will stay 10% during night for 1 gold 30
The sigil of X slaying will NOT scale, it will stay 10% vs a certain foe (risen?) for couple of silvers…
The powerful potions of x-slaying will NOT scale and cost a couple of silvers each…
The ascended weapon will downscale DMG to an exotic or even lower @ lower levels staring from 79
The exotic weapons will downscale DMG to a rare or even lower @ lower levels starting from 65…
Ascended’s are usefull when running Orr, Drytop, Silverwastes and a small part of Frostgorge sound and also in Fractals, Arah, HotW and CoE, WvW and EotM.
In all other area’s it’s downscaled. For your 700 gold investment you’ll get 0% return, IMHO it is a bit low in 85% of the present tyria? When HoT is released the relative value of ascended will go UP as there is more lvl 80 area.

To show the change of a ascended weapon and armor vs exotics.
Be aware the utility is dungeon specific utility (+10% dmg done, – 10% dmg received)
This utility food will also offset the added armor on full ascended armor…. though you will still have some additional benefit with your 650 gold armor.
I’ve been a bit generic and have taken +5% dmg from the Ascended weapon and 10% from a FULL ascended geared character, Mind you most people already have ascended trinkets on their characters, and the differences between ascended trinkets and exotic trinkets is marginal. This calculatrion doesn’t compare builds it’s the difference in DPS based on weapons (exotic/ascended) and additional gear (exotic/ascended), with an additional utility food addition. basic choice of sigils (static boosts) I haven’t included ascended armor without weapons as it will not add to the damage.
This list is mostly usefull for dungeons and fractals, but could be used for locations as ORR, Fireheart rise and frostgorge where 1 type of spawn roams much of the country side.
-Dungeon food is generally VERY cheap (2-8 s per use lasting an hour)
-Sigils beeing night and dungeon specific for night dungeon
-Sigils beeing force and dungeon specific for day dungeon, which is the same as generic night being force and night. so these values can be used for generic night sets.
These lists are a speed comparison: when using a lvl 80 exotic based charater with no damage influencing food or sigils you will kill a monster in 20 hits (calculation example) using x hits you’ll need x setup giving x-boost with a fictional cost (ascended armor set at 660 gold (more then exotic) ,ascended wepon at 40, price for exotic weapon 7gold, sigil of night 2.5 gold, force 5 gold, dungeon specific sigils well 50 s…, dungeon specific foor ~5s)

Ascended is a long term goal with a less than 5% stat increase.
Can we stop with the misinformation? The ascended weapon alone gives more than 5% dps.
Full ascended is about 9-12% stronger than full exotic. Sure it’s about 5% more stats, but weapon strength >>>>>>> stats.
PS: I don’t mean to single you out individually, but this misinformation is not helpful regardless of good/bad motive.
It’s not misinformation. Ascended equipment offers a 5% STAT increase. However, it is also true that with such a stat increase, there is also a small amount of a DPS increase.
For example: Exotic Beserker armor/(single handed) weapons provide 405 power, 288 precision, and 288 Ferocity.
Full Ascended is: 423 power, 302 precision, and 302 ferocity.
A difference of: 18 power, 14 precision, and 14 Ferocity.
An exotic weapon has a damage of 905-1000, and ascended has 950-1050.
So over all, its +45-50 damage, and 18 power, 14 precision, and 14 ferocity. Which is not a 9-12% increase in DPS. Unless you have the calculations on how much damage is increase by each point of power, how much crit chance in improved by each point of precision, and how much crit damage is increase per point of ferocity.
Again, it’s not misinformation.
Exotic weapon strength 952.5 average
Ascended weapon strength 1000 averageFrom weapon strength alone, +5.0% (which alone refutes the claim of “less than 5%”)
Full ascended zerker (armor/weapon/trinkets) is around +90 power/50 ferocity/50 precision over full exotic. Power is easy to calculate (~2400 power on full exotic with 6 in the power trait line, 2490 with full ascended ==> +3.75%).
+50 precision and ferocity would be a gain of at least 2% on the lower bound.
Multiplying all these things together...1.05 × 1.0375 × 1.02 = 1.11%
So 11% gives us a good baseline. Lower with more buffs (primarily power), and higher if our estimate of 2% should be significantly higher.
I’m also not here to argue semantics. The context of “stat” clearly was referencing performance, or overall dps, and even if not intended that way, would be perceived that way.
“Technically correct” no longer works for me when trying to spread misinformation.
PS: please don’t cite stat figures on exotic vs ascended without including jewelry, because the bulk of the stat points are there. For ascended weapons the bulk of the improvement is weapon strength, and for armor it is in armor rating.
Now make the calculation again as people wondering about it are often not speedrunnerts and people who know about it are.
In a dungeon my warrior has 25 stacks of might, dedicated dungeon weapons and food. I use exotics: so I have my warrior (phalanx, not failing strength) at 2554 base with tuffle steak it’s 2654 with might it’s 3404 my dmg multiplier is 31% from weapon and food alone (night dedicated), of 26% (general night/dedicated day)…
1 weapon costs about 7-8 gold
Of course you could combine the ascended weapon and the dedicated sigils, you’;d gain 37% dmg and 31% dmg respectively for the modest investment of 40-45 gold….
It would save you 650 gold for the armor, allowing you to make dedicated and general weapons for about 2-5 characters… depending on how many different dungeon you would do / character,
I mostly have an ascended weapon and 2 or 3 exotics dungeon replacements, mostly for night dungeons, I also have a arah set on my 2 most used orr farmers. Why not invest a few gold for 26% added dmg an 10% reduction in the WHOLE of Orr, I’m not going to bother myself worrying about ascended armor except on the 2 characters I favor for fractals… And they need 1 or 2 armor pieces… max …
I love the comments of people saying you need ascendeds… using food often outweighs it… Most people do not bother using food…
Now for a reflection on your stats and dmg calculation.
so it’s a 90 power addition on 3400 power.. and +5% strength? and 2% for precision and ferocity = ~9.9%…. for a whole ASCENDED set of armor,weapons AND trinkets setting you back about 750 gold?
It’s not 5% I agree but 11% means you are running a defensive runeset and no might.
I guess you’re playing wvw… it could be usefull there. having +5% armor..
