I’ve seen remove all stat combo’s now. (= useless)
I’ve seen the removal of downed state (well it would create a bit more difficulty for zerks, like giving speedrun groups a 5 piece puzzle instead a 4 one, for starters it’s like changing thier 250 piece puzzle for a 2000 piece one. completely bypassing the reason why this is being said)
I’ve seen the wish for complete rework of the games basics. 0.0 (really?, if it’s so bad why stay? change all attributes, removal of this and that…: well you could get 1 attack and 1 stat: life and cursor keys, if you like it: go play pacman. problem solved.)
It really doesn’t matter. You are all advocating to removal of systems to nerf zerker and or remove zerker. But if zerker is gone it will be replaced by the next highest DPS combo. maybe with some toughness. or maybe conditions will be viable. Who knows, conditions will outdamage full DPS without ferocity? Especially without stack caps..
It would also remove the need for toughnes ( as conditions fully negate toughness) then also for the better part precision (well without ferocity would you invest so much for incidental crits? or would you take something else?) …
then we only have a few options left… would it be better?
This isn’t about downstate anymore. Downstate isn’t that OP…. You lose considerable DPS in downstate. Ppl going downstate lose 80% dps, and mobility. They are on a timer. Yes you can rally. which is a method of getting up. If they’d remove it powerressing would come back, and more hate would ensue due to noobs not being able to stay on their feet, while it is the failure of the group to keep ’m on their feet,
I do not think the removal of downstate would be good. I doubt it should be considered at all. especially with new ppl coming into the game all time.
Oh and healing stats is very viable, jut not meta, as it cannot be combined with (the present) meta, ppl frown upon it, but dedicated healers will contribute a lot, though not in DPS.
we do not have a real trinity in this game, but we can make dual purpose characters while maintaining good dps (read not optimal, but more then viable) we could powertank or powerheal, 3rd choice would be heal tank… which is more niche.
condition characters need less stats to function, their options of functioning like hybrids would be bigger, so let’s see and wait until we have a 100 stack cap, and viable conditions in dungeons.
it is a bit out of the box.
And when considering this I’d still say when completely ignoring all damage due to dodges, active defenses and in emergencies( when the group fails) a downed state would suffice to keep starters from wiping too fast BUT it will keep the meta locked, for now, in pure DPS. But it is not the fault of DPS but of the lack of conditions.
Just wanting to say this as last thing: removal of stats will remove options. making the options which arew limited at this moment smaller again. would you invest in an empty trait line, not giving you stats? Would you want the traits removed then?
Where would it end, GW2, the SAB version, you can now play on, with your infinite continue coin?

I would guess your budget would be giving you 12-18 FPS at world bosses. but would up your FPS to 55-80 in PvE open world, on high settings. if you’d build it yourself

The fact people who are more experienced run zerk doesn’t mean zerk is op. It’s just the highest DPS stat combo…
Stacking is no more then an efficient way to share boons. Stacking vs walls is only usefull with a pre nerf FGS (and as it doesn’t exist in meta anymore, as it is obsolete due to it’s nerf) or when running multiple warriors in CoE for GS #3 evades in place, the only reason could be pulling ranged characters as you need to break LOS. Big probem with stacking can be the difficulty spotting ‘telegraphs’, but when you know them they are easier to spot..
Condition dmg is being adressed, 100 stacks being worked on, maybe even with overflow might allow for a potential shift towards more conditions in pve and this will be a interesting possibility in pve.
I play 7 professions. I use rabid, dire, celestial stats, sinister, zealot, clerics, cavaliers, nomads, soldiers, and berserker…. with runes of the pack, brawler, strength, hoelbrak, scholars, aristocrat, krait, monk, divinity, trooper…..showing build diversity is alive
nomads/clerics w trooper guardian can be very nice for ressing zerk ppl in the mai trin fractal…
I play full zerk warrior, ele, thief, guard, ranger and necro though….. and stack in fractals, and dungeons, and LS content…
I also use active defense where and when applicable…
The fact you can get 20 seconds of vulnerability (perma blind) with 3 ele’s or neco’s is powerfull, but it isn’t broken and not breaking not pve as a whole…
Each dodge is 1.5 seconds of total invulnerability, aegis….It’s the game mechanic allowing this. Which can be questionable, but is not broken. How would you replace it?
Just because the game mechanic allow this, doesn’t mea n it’s good. Also your statement is straight up false, everyone run zerker because it’s the most efficient build , also running a build that us way less efficient and effective is just foolish.
You are playing a game, not making sure your family can live in tyria. So have fun instead of just only focuusing on how to get rich quick.
Been there done that x8. I own acended weapons on 10+ characters, have -ALL- dyes unlocked, all recipe’s unlocked, Yes also heavy keepers, and light, so I also did medium..
I only have 2 legendaries though, I still want to craft bolt in the future.
I could be farming and farming to get my next ascended armor. But I’d rather play the game. It is not the same, grinding is boring and repeditive, playing is my way to keep things fresh.
I can do things the easy way or can keep pushing all stuff zerk, zerk, zerk. I’ve been running dungeons for 2+ years now. I love mixing l80 exp with zerk meta speedruns… And I’ve come to respect rangers and necro’s. I do not kick if a lvl 79 joins a speedrun party when having 5k, 10k or more AP, same for rangers and necro’s. it doesn’t matter.
As long as I’m not doing record runs the full meta is meaningless, especially when contenders are still running bloodlust or proccing fire, not using food and generally showing they are not zerk “meta” speedrunners but N00B wannabees!
If you’re running zerk meta without food/utility & dedicated sigils and I’m running zealots with full food, and sigils, who will do the most dmg? I think the zealot will do more dmg… If I’m running zerk with food and sigils I still seem to outdamage others by 30+%
Failing or using active defence available show how good or bad your party is.
Do NOT say ZERK is neccesary when people are to cheap to buy dedicated equipment & food, and if people DO have dedicated equipment they will be way more effective then 80% of our present dungeon running population full zerk,seemingly to dumb to see you will get 30+% -free- dmg by using correct weapons and food. Zerk is only a statcombo, a build is only build, and both are not complete without the rest.
Nothing annoys me more then ppl zerking without stacking might, giving fury, leaving banners behind and generally being NOOBS in dungeons…. while we are pomoting zerk being the only viable way. It isn’t.
I’ve run dungeons with 5 commander guardians, being a mix of soldier and nomads, or clerics and nomads or knights… You will facetank everything, not go down and still kill stuff, it is quite easy actually with perma 25 might. nobody crits anyways so fury is a waste and you’ll slug your way trough the dungeon on 2200-2400 power with nothing doing any harm. It will take you 20-35% longer making a 15 minute path last 18-20… no problems, missing dodge on Alpha? NP! Kohler whirling? LOL! Why worry. When using active defences you get 0 dmg, when making a mistake you will take not enough damage to get worried, which is healed up in seconds.
I still love TA with 5 rangers…..you should try it. Pew pew to the win….. And explore the variety and possibilities of Guild Wars 2.

Your “zerker pawns all” is not constructive. It shows a complete lack of creativity and a striking amount of disinterest.
I play Zerker. What in the world are you talking about? This thread has nothing to do with bashing zerker. If you took the time to actually read the responses you would see that this entire thread is talking about ways to make condition damage a viable option in PvE.
The thread is a request to make condition builds usefull, The only use zerker had is the comparison of dmg…
I’m not bashing zerker, but you stating you run zerker will not improve the condition builds now will it, You do not add anything to the discussion how to make condition builds usefull.
I am very glad the condition caps seem to be under investigation, and overflows seem to be tested. Between the last post and this one we have witnessed 60+: some even reported 100 stacks in a beta trial… This will improve viability for conidtions, and not losing dmg on overflow will improve viability for conditions.
If these 2 things were to be implemented, then condition builds lose the 2 biggest handicaps in this game at the same time…..
We will see… with 100 stacks and overflow, dungeons could theoretically work…

I’ll be honest
zerker, assassin, rampager, sinister, zealot all have the same “squishyness.”
When looking at my 15 characters 13 have a set which falls under these sets.
Only 9 have a “defensive set” mostly becuase I use them in WvW, also it wouldn’t be the first time for me running into wvw and thinking well kills are good, but I seem to take more then average damage… which in the end means i was on a zerk or other glass set instead of a more defensive set.
The fact I do not notice is mainly due to active defenses. these need to be learned..,.
Only good way to do so is in area’s where active defenses are tested, and while tested a downed state can be very helpful.
the downed state is a training oportunity, as long as people res, and not just rally each time.
Downed state is a training mechanism. it allows ppl to make mistakes, tbh 3 mistakes before being killed is quite generous. But it still serves a purpose, though it doens’t serve a purpose for experienced players as they sometimes just ignor ethe fact they could go down and just continue downed skill #1to kill the boss and all rally. It would be nice if your stats were clipped a bit. but who knows.
Well I guess the wannabee zerkers comprise a large part of the LFG at the momenty, when pugging (I pug 95% of all my runs I get 33-50% good runs, with truly experience ppl, I get 33% decent runs, mostlky with 1 or 2 ppl who are still trying to figure out things and I have 15% of nooblets, who stand there pull and get instawiped due to no food, no stacking (might), breaking stack, no protection, blinds, aegis and so on. I also have about 5-10% troll runs with ppl wanting to be carried on x build or lower level chars….
Just saying downed stats removed will make well 60% of my present runs unviable due to idiots. You do not know how often I just stood somewhere with a full zerk ele, blasting away at a boss due to all my guards, warriors and other ppl in party dying due to stupidity. I sometimes manage to pull things off, but not always… killing 66% spider in AC solo isn’t too difficult, but kiting kohler does pose some problems when not having anything to mitigate or stabilize…. somtimes an elemental powder comes ion very handy though..

You shouldn’t go down.
The moment you go down, you either failed yourself OR the team failed to provide active defence.
This is also a reason why experienced teams sometimes do take well necro’s. they can provide quite a lot of mitigations, have a AOE well blind, being a nice addition to the elementalists sandstorm and a ~10 second uptime of protection if the necro is patient enough.
Understand 2 elemetalists can completely nullify any and all dps from enemies for ~12-14 seconds, for a tiny loss in DPS. 1`ele startes fire and the other starts earth, together they will stack 15 might and fury when staff build, and 1 does egular MS, lava foint, fire skill #3, icebow, while other starts earth, #2 for the might, waits until mobs are there and casts sandstorm (glyph of storms, earth attunement) then continues fire/icebow. AT that poiint the 2nd ele can pick up the fact sandstorm has nbeen cast and switch to earth and take over, casting sandstorm himself. if you have any necro, the 2 ele’s can run fir e until the necro’s well gives in about 6-8 seconds in the fighteand then use earth after eachother. Giving more freedom to stack might and casting initial bomb while in protection and aoe healing field (well of blood)
Stability stays something for the guard,
Banner buffs would be optimal for DPS. making dungeons also a bit GWEN.Of courese there are a lot of different options reducing dmg. making the downed state missable for etruly experienced runners, but it would destory the wannabee zerker rings…
And IMHO you coud so this kind of things as well on a full nomads group to nullify any incoming dmg, but you would competely waste all 3 stats on armor. Making the choice for active defence and nomads quite a awkward one.

Forcing a stat down ppls throat is not usefull as the present game makes your mentioned vitality USELESS.With respect to vitaility of course, as it is simple: when you do not get hit you will not need any additional HP now will you? It will not make the game more interesting to play nor will it break the meta ofv using active defence and just nuking everything. with or without stack. If you ever ran a decent speed run you should know the stack is only for buff purposes, and the optimal fighting location is generally created by conincedences. Since the W-GS 3 and the FGS no longer work against walls, or have been nerfed to a point where an icebow is better, the wall stacking meta is just a remnant of the past.
the downed state is a mechanic which allows ppl to learn, and as long as you’re using dungeon runes and not stacking sigils downed will serve the purpose very well.
Ppl do so cause they learned it this way.
Only reason to keep stacking wall would be a party of warriors so they can use the skill 3 as an additional evade and stay in stack, but as warriors are no longer the majority in parties as they suck nowadays due to being nerfed to banner carriers, it serves no direct point anymore to stack vs a wall, unless it breaks LOS and pulls in all ranged, which means you’re running without a mesmer, guardian or ranger.

Leave all the food. conditions will be cleaned in balanced groups with such a high frequency it is rediculous. leaving +40 or -40% irrelevant as the condition is long gone.
You know what’s fun? Making all the mobs in Arah port to the start of the dungeon. Let’s see you try to skip now, filthy elitists!

Even if they said well there are going to be at least x dungeons if there are 1 or 2 still unfinished and being tested, I’d have something to forward to….
Well I do not mind If they shifted some bosses gigabillion HP healthpool and make it 1% of it and add 4000 armor… especially not since they seem to be working on max of 100 stacks of conditions vs 25… It would tear the meta to shreds and I doubt it would be bad.
Even for fractals it could be a good thing, except maybe for fractals where condition dmg is halved, but we’ll find a way around it as well. Understand though if armor would go up and the bosee had way lower HP, a heal would be a bigger %-ge of the bosses health… (of course interrupts and posion could be a big change here)
When running conditions we would get the should we take sinister of rabid question, but I’ll leave it to you… IMHO personal healing could use a buff as well. But I could see 1 ore 2 zealot trinkets make a difference, if they would exist….

Just let them release something decent. if they rush this and release too fast we wil have a buggy mess, too litlle content and 6 months later a bankrupt A-Net and no gw2 at all.

Well so long as i still see ppl with >1k APwith eternity on a non world completion character……
I do not think some legendaries are legendary anymore.
To keep everything “fair” and playable, you will be downscaled in a huge part of the game being all area’s you outrank in levels, the only area’s where you’ll be lvl 80 when you are level 80 will not donwscale you . this leaves pretty much 4 complate area’s and 2 partial area’s, this goes the same way for dungeons:
Complete area’s cursed shore (lvl80), soutsun cove (lvl 80), dry top,(lvl 80), silverwastes (lvl 80), Partial area’s: malchors leap (75-80), frostgorge sound (70-80). The dungeons you’ll be level 80: COE explorable, HotW explorable, Arah story and explorable.
The rest of the present world you be downscaled.
Effects of downscaling:
- armor values, attribute values, weapon dmg will be scaled down to the appropriate level. this is done for ALL attributes, also the ones you didn’t invest in.
This means a exotic/ascended “zerk” ele at lvl 80 has less HP then a rare “strong” lvl 35 ele. On the other side though, the lvl 80 will have all traits unlocked , or at least has a build.
- weapon dmgs & armor values will be capped:
ascneded weapons and armors are said to be capped below 80,
exotics are said to be capped below 60
rares are capped below 30
masterwork is said to be capped below 15.
fine stays fine.
Returns:
You can level your character in lvl 1-79 area’s without people appearing and just kill stealing everything in front of you by oneshotting it.
You can do content in area’s below lvl 80 when you are done levelling, leaving those area’s rewarding. You will still be able to do low level dungeons without being overpowered and just instagibbing everything, so it stays decent content.
You can play with lvl 80 friends in low levels, though full traiting makes them more powerfull then you will be you will be able to play togeteher, intead they having to wait for everything in fear of you getting nothing.
With a level 80 things will die way faster though, as compared to lvl 10, 35 or 50, but it’s not gamebreaking.
You will see the merits….
Upscaling also exists in EotM for example. It will mean you will have the weapons and armor but it will be calculated upwards. This will make you more powerfull but as you level, and you keep your original amror and weapons, the multiplier drops, and you will lose power and armor fast.

Well….
Crafting used to be able to give people 10-15 levels when using a crafting booster and a xp booster.
Both he xp and the use of the xp booster no longer work, so you now get 7 or 8 levels from crafting form 0-400 and at that point it gets prohibiably expensive, so if you already have a character with lvl 500 I’d stop, maybe I’d make refine soem orichalcum or ancient wood I ’d had some, or male some relevant exotics but 8+ levels would be very rare…
Even so most users would just stack up tomes of knowledge and use those for XP/ leveling. If you finished the wait you can have your next level 80 in well 61 to 78 doubleclicks depending if you use a lvl20 scroll… it is free, and if you already unlocked your crafting proffessions you can just ignore the rest….
Just for the record I prefer jewelry to level, if I do so, but huntsman and leatherowrker do well as well, with leatherworker being a bit more expensive due to some cloth being used., I hoestly do not need crafting powerleveling anymore now with 15 lvl 80’s though, But I’d appreciate it would be left as is. So others can reap some benefit of low level armors, weapons and trinkets.
when maxed at 500/400 you’ll notice you’ll keep working towards new goals… and we’ll see…. I use my crafting nowadays t make exotics with zealot/sinister and nomads if I need to, or want to. I have unlocked a lot of different recipes…we’ll see what will be next…

-jumping puzzles
-skill points
-harvesting & crafting
-events, event chains, bosses, world bosses…
-dungeons (from lvl 30)
-achievements
- story line, (living story0
- EotM, (WvW)
and so on…
However you want to continue is your choice… Nobody can tell you what you like, you find the things you like…
In the end you’ll finish your story line and you will switch other content…
Dungeon farming/speedruns
Fractals
Event/Boss/Bag farming
WvW
PvP
Collections
Ascended / Legendary Crafting
World completion
Alt-levelling (making more characters and doing it again on other proffessions/buids…)
Which is still your own choice. The goal is to have fun, with or without other people, depending on content…
Ofcourse joining a guild will give you an acces to knowledge and experience, there are:
social, pve, pvp, wvw, dungeon, pvx(=alround), roleplaying, fractal, world boss and many more types of guild, both international and national/language based. with or without age restrictions ( open, 18+ or 21+)…..
but for now focus on geeting your character to lvl 80, then your tutorial is done

I always laugh when people say that meta gaming doesn’t include PVE.
People have broken down the formulas on how damage is done and created spreadsheets to min/max the most possible damage to try and create optimal builds. Finding that using one rune set vs another is an increase in damage for example.
What do you call such a thing?
A lot of work for 1 to 2% of damage, and when interupted, spiked, or unable to act due to impractical skill suggestions , or someone makes an error…. Well you should have a tiny bit more dps … if things work out okay…
1% or 2 % dmg may seem a lot but if someone runs force and night in a dungeon instead of slaying and night it is already a trivial difference, as he lost 5% on the sigil. or forgot food, 10% or uses the cheaper food which drops, losing 1-6 %….
You cannot call a dungeon perfect if people start out without food. Food is an essential part of all dungeon metas. Sometimes I hand out food and ask for ppl to use it and I see the pigeons fly… ppl sell the food for 1 or 2 silver. Losing 10% defence, 10% dmg… just because they are cheap. Had a nice necro in party today, he was ok, until we did spider boss AC p2 and he put down marks while we were stacking. so we casted weakness 7 times on the mark, and the spider ran in, not affected….

A meta build is a build seen as the most appropriate build for the goal it is meant to perform… generally outperforming all other builds also tailored to the specific goal.
As meta’s tend to be very specific, a Dungeon Meta build is different then a WvW or a PvP Meta build.
Dungeonm builds require DPS at this moment, most dungeon builds are focussed on maximum DPS or maintaining maximum group DPS.
WVW builds require a balanced build with cleans, support and dps. so they are generally build around a set of parameters (cetrain amount of thoughness, power and amount of cleans, or other forms of sustainability for either yourself or others.
PvP has it’s own meta.
Meta’s shift when balance patches are released.
Meta is more then just builds. The optimum balance for dungeon parties used to be warrior x3, a mesmer and guardian at release. Nowadays it’s 2 elementalists, 1 warrior a guardian and 1 thief… with tasks shifted as well…
Meta is a concept and not a must. Nor are meta builds. Sometimes te difference between meta and non meta DPS tends to be very small, and a large part of the time meta builds are not all that important.
Lastly meta builds are considered to hold a roulation of attacks, an order in whcih attacks should be executed for max dps. if you do not care for this, meta is not for you…
Meta is purely theoretical. In practice some builds will be more appropriate in certain parts of dungeons. knowing when to use meta, or not, is common sense.
I do run meta gear on most characters, but I often run personal builds. Sometimes shifting 1 or 2 traits. I shift utility skills as well, as some meta skills used in the meta roulation are nice, but will kill you in the end due to lack of cleans, stability or other things whcih seem trivial at first.
In the end being aware of your own build outweighs the meta.

Each dungeon has even a sub-meta’s for speedruns, detailing all setups and gear for specific (boss) encounter & running parts when running the meta builds on meta speedrun group… problem is you need to be in the group to communicate those.
Each world boss had advantages when using certain weapons and thus corresponding builds and trait setups.
Meta Gear is the gear optimized for a certain task. Weapons rquiring “dungeons sigils” and “dungeon specific food” are part of the gear. as sungeon gear is optimized it will only function in certain dungeons, or just in certain paths, it isn’t strange for warrior speedrunners to own 4 or 5 GS’s, several axes and maces…. so they can fit the sigils…
Dungeon levels should indicate certain things:
Important LFG tags:
Open: no requirementother then minimum dungeon level requirement
l80 or lvl 80: level requirement: all traits theoretically available
EXP or Experienced: you are experienced with the dungeon path AND the character’s proffesion
Zerk: armor type requirement, It is the request for maximum damage gear. Generally all people running meta or speedrun should have this. It does no justice to Meta as some Meta builds require other armors then berserker. But it will generally allow for Assassin pieces as well.
Meta: using mostly Meta build (remember thinking is important),
Speedrun: you know your dungeons, run meta builds, if you do not run food: kick, do not stack kick, do not buff: kick, if we wipe we disband. You know and improvise or we die.
x ele, x war, x guard, x thief : party setup, if you want to join and are on a proffession already full, request will be make to switch or kick will take place.
Useless tags, it shows people not trusting people, creating toxic or hectic groups.:
???? AP/ ?k AP : request for a minimum of achievement points. probably the wost selection criterium available, as poeple who did their daily but never ran a dungeon once will get in, and recently started fanatic and capable players with experience do not.
Ping : ping your gear in party chat. (it invades privacy of players IMHO, and I am strange to trust people) but some are paranoia about all things. It’s mostly wannabees who request this.

It would be nice though to consider there were at least 6 outfits in the past 6 months and only 1 armorset, with a alternate reskinned version.
I hope they go back to the same pace as they released armors in S1…
I understand ppl are working on new armors for HoT but still why only the outfits… I would have loved armor parts of the balthazar outfit design , but I will not buy the outfit. I do not care for it cause I cannot customize it.
So I’ll throw some money into a dye now…
There are a lot of internet stores in Europe, though PC parts tend to be cheaper in the US.
But I suggest you check the powersupply so it can be used on whatever current you need, 230V DC being standard in most of europe. Dunno for States, as I’m Dutch.
Also taking your desktop back home could be difficult as they tend to be heavy 15 kg’s is not very strange, but if you would want to do so make sure you keep the box for the case, so you have a good container for transport.
If you need to travel you could pick up a gaming laptop, but as they are inherently expensive I’d warn you in advance the capabilities will be lacking compared to a desktop in the same price range.

If you are adventurous and can absorb the cost of you making a mistake, I’d say go for it. if not well… do not.
A pc consists of a series of items.
The structure:
For mounting you will need a Case. A case is more important then it seems, as it directly controls how many slots you have available, what sizes of motherboard you’re limited to and the amount of fans, also your outside connectors will be on it (generally a secondary set headphone and mic jacks, and some USB 2 orUSB 3 ports,)
The case is generally the last thing people buy as the priority of the case seems lowest, but a good case can improve the life of your PC and be important for warmth management
The power
You’ll need a fitting powersupply (PSU) for your setup, you can only know how many watts you need when you figured out what you need. Never go for exactly the correct value, always go 50-100 watts more, try to get a certified PSU.
The Computer:
The processor (CPU), being the main part of your pc the CPU is probably most important, generally it is the clock speed which intersts most in onlder games and software, and amount of threads in newer software… Your processor will need to be cooled
The CPU needs a fitting socket which will be the staring point for your
Motherboard (MoBo), Motherboards regulate communications to and from your processor. Capabilities are mostly regulated by the CHIPSET, it is integrated on your motherboard, but controls the (amount of) PCI-E lanes, network/audio(/wireless/bluetooth) the motherboard also houses the slots for your Ram modules and thus limits the amount of room for those modules, having 1,2,4 or 8 slots…
As long as it is the right socket you are on your way, BUT features of the motherboard tend to be important, do you want 1 or 2 videocard slots, how many ports do you need, does it have adequate audio, or do you want an seperate audio solution,
Memory (RAM) your ram is the computers short term memory, it will not function without memory, present day computers should have 8 Gb of memory. Generally you want memory modules in pairs…. (but I’m old school)
CPU COOLER, either air or water (but water isn’t recommended for first build and might take away some of your cash…) passive coolers for computers are very rare nowadays. Generally being under heavy load, the +40Amps of current running through your CPU ,will make it HOT! You will need a decent cooler to keep it alive, coolers are screwed on the Mobo on top of the processor, with heat conducting paste in between . This paste (coolant paste) is essential. to maximize contact area. It is the only thing on a computer which requires some experience to apply. It is not that difficult, you will need a thin (as thin as possible layer of paste between the CPU and cooler. I prefer a bank card to smear it out but all people have their own ways. This paste tends to be TOXIC! So take care to make sure it gets on your CPU and nowhere else.
You’ll need a Graphics card (GPU) to make images. The most expensive single item in most computers, they tend to have additional power connectors. generally for most games (though not for GW2 at this time) the GPU is the bottleneck. GPU’s nowadays work optimally at ~80 celsius so exhaust is HOT. and needs to get out of the system Asap
And you’ll need one or more Storage devices. Long term memory.. I’d recommend a system SSD and a storage HDD..
DVD, Bray, card reader is your choice, generally I find them useless. All storage devices have 2 connectors 1 for power 1 for data. (Except maybe M.2 SSD’s no expereince on those)
Ventilation:
Make sure you have not to many cables dangling in your case. bind them together with tie rips so you can see wht isgoing on, and air can move freely.
You will benefit more from overpressure (fans blowing in!) then from more fans trying to get air out of the case. all fans blowing into the case should be on side, bottom, and front. exchaust hould be done by GPU’s and fans at the back and on top. (hot air rises…) make sure you keep the fans clean, or use dust filters. if you cannot cool enough your compueter will run hot.
If you placed this all in your case you have a computer.. before starting check if all connectors of components are connected, all fans are hooked up.
Then turn the power supply on and start your pc.
Check for errors,
Install your OS of choice.
Reboot.. if it works good, you could check if it runs smootly for 24 hours. monitor the heat in the case. it shouldn’t get to warm, if it does add more fans…
This is very basic. you’ll run into trouble somewhere , but fitting a PC in a case is easy. it’s “idiot-proof”…

I also have other pictures portraying him sleeping “starfish”, but I think they’d be removed due to indecent exposure… He’s 6 now but this was made roughly when gw2 launched I guess.. so about 3,5 yrs old at the time only difference is I get more white hairs now on the floor and less brown, but the amount of mixture is the same… He has hair for everything, if you have black clothes: white hair, if you wear white: brown hair, if you are smart and wear brown and white he just comes over and drivels all over your pants, it really doens’t matter…When you buy one you know you need to accept he looks good and you are the new hair collector….
Trust me: you do not want a shedding Shorthaired German Pointer anywhere near any of your hardware. We found hair everywhere. Dust proof?: hair inside!
He wrecked 2 DVD players by just living with us, and I clean daily, during spring and fall shedding at least 2 times daily to make sure the hairs are gone, and I never ever seem to succeed though…

Win 2000 is not yet obsolete, not is windows 7 and 8 due to the fact they are NT versions. even though XP 64 was reasonable… I am glad I avoided XP entirely.
Windows 7 and 8 will get free upgrades to windows 10. so at the release of windows 10 there is no actual reason NOT to upgrade. Other platforms will get this upgrade as well… Only they require a full reinstall. This could be very nice, though I expect compatibility issues will arise,
Even if this game stays direct x 9 for computation , maybe the direct x 12 will unlock multithreaded rendering. using the hardware available… I cannot foresee this, but I imagine it being possible.
do remember that not only your operating system, but your hardware has to be compatible too. Some of my guildies are playing on the absolute lowest settings… But that’s the thing about MMOs. People with all sorts of hardware want to play it, so developers try to cater to all.
From what I heard this update wasn’t directed so much at the GPU but at the multithreading of the present single direct x thread, So it will be a big thing for all quad(and more) core users and the dual cores will remain in the positions where they are now…
If this is true I wouldn’t mind And even though I have a very powerfull PC I still have direct x 11 cards.
They might allow for directx 9+ to be allowed for the calculations, but still only refer to the instructions available in the direct-x 9 instruction set? so you could optimize use for GPU’s above direct x 9? not all possibilities have to be usefull…. most draw functions are probably still the same in direct x 12 as they are in direct x 9… Only the usage of the threads could be improved… whcih could be a VERY big thing.

just focus tne AOE attacks so the healing bubbles nneeed to move through the full AOE flied tro get to the husk instead of focus AoE-ing the husk itself. The detonation of those heals will be outside the range where the husk would be healed. and AOE will be usable once more, of course 1 or 2 melees focussing the bubbles will be very usefull as well, especially when equipped with cripples.
The reduction of on crit bleeds as tigirius mentions could be good or bad…
I prefer them staying around, as the cap will noplonger be influenced by bleeds from dps-ers and DoT will be buffed even if it is ever so slightly, In case where the cap is replaced by overflow we will see a increase in uptime if the bleeds remain. The wish for removal of thoise bleeds is only based on a smaller cap with less room for those bleeds

People, this isn’t Rift, Not WoW, not any other MMO, this is GW2.
Saying well this MMO did it like this is nice. Fact is Gw2 did quite well, still some people want GW2 to be WoW or Rift or something else… and I’ll be brief.

Ì’m no V-Sync lover, I used to play games before on mid end video solutions for years, and I cannot be bothered with 1 lost frame, when I have 60, 90 or 120. Coming from 15-20 FPS gaming (with dips on my old opteron with Nvidia 9600GT as low as 3-5 FPS) for years now I find V-Sync a luxury which is unneeded as I tend to ignore the treared frame.
We have only seen revenants with celestial armor and dolyak runes… using only 2 non definative trait lines and an unfinished one.
We do not have ANY clue whatsoever of the revenants capabilities. We have seen only a fraction, and when doing beta it felt way weaker then ele or ranger… both also with celestial and dolyak runes. mostly due to lack of a complete build…
Well… This is in open field while on the move, not in a WvW battle..
The second is in combat due to some ghosts popping up when I wanted to make my picture. All Plains of Ashford…
FPS will drop significantly when on world bosses or on wvw battles… so this is just to show it is possible to get good Fps.
I’m curious what your setup is.
I have a decent rig that maxes everything, but for you to get 90fpson 4k you must have some other good stuff in there.
Either that or the whole “cpu” thing is debunked as far as regular play goes(cpu only comes into effect really during larger engagements), and maybe your graphics cards are handling the scenery at that point at 4k.
I know with my 3770k and a gtx 970 i barely get 45fps with everything maxed in combat at 4k. I am, however using sweet FX, so im sure thats dropping me 10-20fps at 4k as well, but I’m wondering if i should sli another 970.
4k for a lot of games is still not a viable solution unless you run 2 gtx titan x’s or 2 r295’s currently(At least that are graphic reliant)

1 remark though: Fighting spawns in a map doesn’t cause to much FPS drop,
generally it is only when encountering other players which seems to cause a lot of FPS drop…
My PC is on the attic, where we have all PC’s ( my wifes old Q6600, and my old dual opteron 2376) it can get very hot in the summer with ambient going easily over 27 celsius, so I do not OC too much, as good OC-ing requires a stable ambient temp. if all PC’s are running thay add a lot to the ambient temperature, up to outside temperatures… Mid summer I only game in the morning and the evenings. (something with not completely wanting to no-life my life, PC’s will be off during the day. )
Hope this is all the info you need. During the summer my PC will be set to throttle, so clock will be lower.

Simply giving a buff to players that res the dead is not going to make people want to res them more.
Most players don’t even attempt ressing dead players because:
- It removes DPS.
- It roots the player.
- It increases aggro making lethal boss attacks target them more.
- Ressing the dead takes longer than ressing the downed.
- Event scaling doesn’t automatically adjust upon death.
- The closest waypoint is usually a minute away.
- It is easier to waypoint or not die.
If you really want that mentality to go away, then you must bypass these issues. Otherwise, your idea is not a good one at all.
But people will appreciate resses. I ran AC 800 full runs and I still die sometimes, (zerk ele) mostly due to ppl dropping the queen when killing the 3rd/4th gargoyle, or ppl not doing things as expected, just focus firing the queen ranged…. on l80 zerk exp rifle warrriors, scepter guards, or GS mesmers…. yeah in zerk EXP? runs….
Not killing the small spiders is a nice example….of frustrating play…. @ 6/2/2/2/2 you’ll get focusfired, 6/2/0/2/4 removes the problem and quite some DPS
Kohler provides a very good sustain in the 2 adds, if you get interupted on IB 5 or when sandstorm runs out…. just keep dps you’ll rally 9 of 10 times..

Windowed fullscreen costs you 20% FPS. When running Full screen My PC places just the backgopund on my 2nd screen and ignores any further rendering, just placing the still screen…
When windowed full screen your pc just renders the second screen at same speed and ingame speed, even when nothing happens… wasting a 2M ( ~8M calculations) pixels worth of calculations (FPS) times a second.

Ranger has much to bring, but just saying ranger is a ranger class is very short sighted..
Rangers are also (military) footmen, with stamina, scouts…. park rangers and so on. People who roam the lands… It’s not a pew pew, in need of a long range weapon kinda noamer.
The fact people cannot see beyond the ranged in ranger is pure short sightedness.
Most buffs are for close ranged combat. And there is also the use of your pet… melee pets can buff the stack. If you are in the stack you’ll also benefit, and others will do so as well from your persoanl aoe buffs…
The fact people choose to stay at 600/900/1200/1500 range makes their ability to function well.. not usefull…
To compensate ( as decent long range support isn’t all bad):
Maybe it would be a good thing if buffs could go out of the pet as well as they are supposed to be an extension to rangers (with a bit smaller circle maybe) just as a n additional buff…. , non stacking or half from ranger half from pet…
Oh and sword/axe ranger does quite ok dmg…
Always nice people can only focus their hate on 1 of the excesses and completely ignore EVERYthing else.
Dungeons are run by lvl 80 EXP groups as well, not only by zerk -meta- and speedruns.
Silverwastes provides nice loot if you do it the right way.
Instance skipping is found in ALL content, (world bosses like teq and triple wurm, silverwastes, dry top, cursed shore, frostgorge… JP’s, diving googles,..
It’s mostly cause help makes things a bit easier. after the main events unlcoking the player base returning will get a bit lower. Dry Tops was a huge farm untill SW appeared. now it’s only a small farm, but people have a lot of fun there.
All content can be used and ab-used And however you use it doens’t matter as long as people repsect other poeple . getting a map chat full of chagrin due to someone desperately wanting to hold on to his chest farm whie map is at 80+% causes much grief to other players. chest farmers should be wisest and move to another instance bewing low, and have the people who do want to complete the events do so.
They would aid in others having fun and maintaining a player base so they can show off their shinies if they want to, not a poisoned husk of a game where nobody cares.
Event trains are good, they make sure the events happen. event griefing due to people completing events others find neccesary to fail due to more bag is rediculous.
The game needs tro be played and if nobody gets hurt np, but if people play and it doen’t go as you planned do not flame ppl away. Your bags and hate do not concern me, is my personal thought.

I do not see myself being forced or cohersed into doing grinds for any reason.
The grinds have made all people now owning legendary GS’s rediculous, there are more legendary GS’s now then there are base skins. They show you can grind, good for you. no achievements there… most griond the GS’s so they can gain money by selling the Eternity, and people actually carrying Eternity especially on characters without map are my personal favorites most certain below 1k AP…
SO find your way to play , in the end you’ll be the only one to know if your legendary was earned or bought.
I earned my first legendary, the Meterorlogicus and a year later I could afford the Kudzu… Both were rare at start and prestigeous, now the kudzu is no longer rare, and the meterologicus ius starting to appear more as well… and they lost quite a lot of their shine….
