Yeah, berserker stance is a waste of time since signet of fury is much better. I like your suggestions. Both of them seem more like how “stances” should work.
Yes you should. Warriors are fun.
I think it’s too early to say it isn’t going to be an E-sport. We’ll see in due time.
Try elementalist and mastering attunement dancing. It sounds like the challenge you’re looking for.
You can play tPvP on the same team as your friend at any time. You can sPvP with your friends if you’re put on the same team, or if a space becomes available on the other side, and either of you switch teams during the fight. Most of the time in sPvP my wife and I end up on different teams in sPvP.
So you can get bored then play other games with multiple PvP modes of course! I’m sure the devs realize that just one game mode is dry and there are more to come.
If a K/D ratio is implemented I’m rolling a thief.
I don’t think there is a max range on rally. Sometimes it seems random.
Rally as it is now definitely makes the game more of a team effort. If you’re in a 2v1 the odds are definitely against you.
Here’s a solution. If you’re tired of focusing on the ground then try focusing on the sky. Hopefully they’ll be working on a fix while your head is in the clouds. Glad I could help.
Mesmers should suck at hitting multiple targets because their the best at creating multiple targets to hit. If they had great AOE their wouldn’t be room for Elementalists.
Your warrior build probably sucked, and thieves are freaking amazing. If you’re taking on 3 people even as a thief, you sound pretty amazing too! Good thieves definitely don’t just pick off stragglers. They just don’t have to worry about picking 1v1 fights so it might seem like they go after stragglers a lot. They can burst one target down rather quickly and if their losing they can just stealth and run away. A 1v1 fight as a warrior will end with either the warrior or his opponent dead, so they go after less stragglers unless their confident they can win.
I hate underwater PvP whenever I go down there I become shark food. >.>
The Building Momentum trait. 15 points in strength line. Restores some endurance when using burst skills.
However, it does not work with the sword burst skill flurry.
I beg to differ if you ever fought my mesmer Pres Mitt Romneny you would understand what an OP spec is
You should use the MOA elite. That way you can turn your enemies into “Big Bird” right before obliterating them.
Your suggestion is better than what we have now and would encourage some skill management. However it think it would be better to just give every class initiative.
First I would like to thank everyone of you for reading my post and taking the time to give constructive feed back. So I will respond to each of you. If I overlook someone please forgive me.
@ Isabis
If every class is “broken” then no class would be broken!
@Wolfe
Changes that would make the game even more fun!
@Shukran
If every class is OP, then every class is equally powered!
@TheDenofSin
Whitecliff’s engineer would be able to counter of that.
@Haku
Increasing or decreasing the initiative costs of skills (like 100 blades) to balance them would remedy the issue.
@Whitecrow
We’ll see about that!
@Killyox
Why did you used to want it, and why do you not want it now? Please explain so this thread remains constructive.
@Ender
I’m not an Ele player but perhaps this would make it more simple if people could use the one element that’s more suitable for the situation and not run out of cool downs.
@Sylosi
This game definitely is not perfectly balanced it’s a work in progress. I’m hoping this suggestion could perhaps help with that work.
@Klassic
I’m not very happy with 40 second cool downs for weapon skills. I think their just fine for utilities though.
@Sharpclaw
So, maybe initiative could be limited to spamming the same skill no more than two or three times? So hs, hs, hs hs, hs, hs, is no longer possible, but instead it is limited to only two heart seekers in a row.
@Zunhar
Considering HB roots the warrior in place I think smart players won’t spam it much. And for every move you think that is OP, their will probably be a move that can counter it. The list goes on and on…
@Yukishiro
It would no longer be a broken mechanic if every class had it.
BECAUSE IT WOULD BE FREAKIN’ SWEET!!!
I think PvP would be a lot more interesting and each class would be a lot more flexible. Also each class will be better at adapting to most situations on the fly. Because more people will be able to react to tough situations winning will rely a lot more on skill and a lot less on character class. Also the game will seem more action oriented and fast paced while still retaining its RPG elements, which would make for a better E-Sport. There are a number of benefits.
Admittedly there are some downsides. (100blades+100blades=200 blades) Overall I think the good outweighs the bad.
Let me know what yall think, and try to be constructive.
Thanks Corebot, I need people like you on my team. Every house needs a strong foundation.
I roam on my warrior and end up in first place in sPvP a lot. I hardly really feel like I’m the Michael Jordan of my team though and were winning because of me.
When I am doing things vital for my team to win and feel as if I should have a lot of points when I look at the score board, I usually end up closer to the bottom of the totem pole, but we need people who play like this in order to win.
Thanks for playing the role of unsung hero so I can shine
I disagree with you. I think a lot more balancing needs to take place and it’s way to early to say that this game is not balanced. ANet didn’t hire wizards to develop the perfect game drop a Classic. Tweaks are definitely needed, and lots of them.
However, I really appreciate your tips and will put them to use. Good work.
Longbow’s primary attack is all physical, but it’s burst and 2 are condition.
Rifle’s autoattack is bleed, but the burst and 3 are heavy physical.
It’s so annoying.
It’s very annoying. I think going physical will result to more DPS with Rifle and going condition will result with more DPS for long bow. But that leaves me with an auto-attack that’s a lot weaker than what I feel it should be.
I like rifle #2, #5, and kill shot. I think warriors are a bit too reliant on Volley and Kill shot for DPS. Once the volley hits it’s time to dodge. Kill shot takes too long to shoot. Of course popping frenzy remedies both issues but that’s only once every 60 seconds. Frenzy+Kill Shot+Volley=Great ranged burst.
Rifle is amazing at 1200 range. But it doesn’t take long for melee to close that gap and to be a lot more effective. Great for groups if you want to sit back, not so much 1v1. It would probably be more helpful for the group as a whole to do a bunch of knockdowns with hammer or something. But hey, that’s what weapon swap and fast hands are for.
I really love rifle #5 for smacking foes off of high points.
Good players are warriors since warriors have few gimmicks to rely on, and must rely on skill, and can still manage to win. (Exception for frenzy+100b minute warriors).
Bad players hide behind broken class mechanics, or pretend that broken class mechanics do not exist. Or a combination of both, and still lose to the good warrior player.
@ Vaerah
Yes, it means illusions, invisibility, incentive and overall more effective unique class mechanics. Warriors are far from a low skill cap class to own noobs. (Unless you’re a frenzy+100 blades minute warrior.) I’d argue that they are the highest skill cap class because in order to win as a warrior you have to time your cool downs almost perfectly compared to the top classes in order to win. Wait, I take that back, I think Elementalists are the highest skill cap class due to attunement swapping, but warriors are up there believe it or not.
You poor poor soul. I definitely understand your frustration, props for playing Ele, do your best to make it work. They take much more effort to be effective than some classes that I will not name. The updates are coming have faith! Whatever you do, just don’t reroll and join the dark side. >.>
@ Aelona
My rifle axe/shield warrior doesn’t have much AoE to deal with stealth. Although I see where you’re coming from by saying a good engi has enough tools to reliably deal with mesmers, in my experience warriors do not have enough tools to deal reliably with mesmers.
I’m pretty good. I’m definitely not a professional I could get better. But at this point I feel extremely comfortable saying warriors are limited when compared with mesmers and thieves.
So I will continue to get better. You should try making a warrior and reliably taking down mesmers and thieves.
The grass is not greener on the other side. Stay a warrior. Stay away from the light! Once you discover just how warriors are outclassed you might never come back, and we need you to take a stand with your fellow warrior brethren! I pray you don’t try making a thief…
I don’t think we need more attack diversity, although it would be nice. What I think warriors need are cool gimmicks to increase survivability. Yes we have heavy armor, but it still doesn’t mitigate damage nearly as good as stealth or clones. To play a warrior effectively as a other classes you have to have a very low margin of error.
Thieves that turn invisible multiple times and take forever to reappear are unmanageable. Also, I think initiative makes it too easy for them to spam. Any other class that misses a link in their combo will have to wait for the cool down or find a way to improvise. A thief who misses #2 dagger will just press #2 dagger again. In contrast, once a warrior misses his frenzy 100 B basically out of options. An elementalist has to put in a bunch of work switching between elements to still do less damage than thieves. Thieves have too many options, ways to open up, chase down runners, and ways to get out of danger.
Mesmers have too many tricks up their sleeve compared to most classes too. Fighting them is just too hard. I feel like I’m not even being overpowered by the other player, I’m just being overpowered by the mesmer gimmick itself. Their elite skills are sweet too. When I do manage to beat these classes 1v1 though I feel extremely satisfied, lol.
Where’s the trick?
This is only going to make nerf mesmer threads even worse lol.
But great video, I enjoyed the Blink Stompage!
Forcing teams to be diverse will force people to play classes that they other wise would not play. I like warriors, my best friend like warriors. If we were to play together I would have to bite the bullet and play guardian. No one should have to bite the bullet.
I think a better solution would be for classes to be balanced and nerfed, which I believe their working on. Or at least I hope. This way you’ll be able to take down those pesky God like guardians!
Bad idea. I think everyone should get to play the class that they want to play and still be effective.
Guardians are great. We just need other classes to be as great as guardians!
You can run but you can’t hide.
I like immobilize. Except for when I’m the one whose immobilized. >.>
I would like it if fights lasted longer. If you get caught slipping you get merked in this game kind of like an FPS if you’re anything but a bunker.
However I’m not sure if more health would be the correct solutions, because Bunker Guardians would become Gods, lol.
@Neb
Thanks for the handy solution. Sounds like what I need.
@Mouse and @ JonathanSharp
Didn’t know I could do that. Thanks for stating the obvious, and for reiterating the obvious! Going to manually swap now to join my wife in holy matrimony.
@Rekina
You know. The problem probably would be solved if I just let her kill me sometimes. I’ll be sure to do that.
@Chesire
Outside of GW2 I think my marriage is pretty great. It’s not perfect but I wouldn’t have it any other way.
@bckwrdz
You can’t believe that the developer cares about the community?
@plague
That’s actually a great suggestion.
@lupercaleb
I would prefer to not attack my wife if I had the choice.
@ pimpslapper
I never even though about it like that. You’ve opened my eyes.
@ Tomahorc
Good suggestion, finding the real her would be 3 times as hard.
Thanks for the update, nice to know you’re listening to the community. Hopefully I’ll get to sPvP with my wife!
@deapee
“I was literally 1v3’ing people on my warrior…in seconds.”
If you can do this, please post a video. If so you’re God like and have found the class for you! I know you may not want to pick a warrior, but warrior has picked you if you’re that good with it.
I like the one sPvP game mode that we have, but it gets boring after a while. I just want more modes, but I’m sure more is coming.
This really helped me out. It sounds like a great way to be all around effective. I’m going to try it. I’ll post again after I redo my stats.
The vigor boost when using a stance trait in the discipline tree does not work when using shield stance. Also the vigor duration boost you get when using frenzy is much shorter than when using endure pain.
Keep up the good work!
I hope that was a clone too. 35k…
@ Duckzor
Someone agrees with me, hoorah! At least you’re not playing against you’re wife. If you think your friends are trouble, just wait until you get a wife and defeat her. Hell hath no fury like a woman scorned, especially a wife.
@JonathanSharp
The wife and I sPvP a lot and for the most part are on different teams. Auto-balance is not a reliable way of getting on the same team as my wife in sPvP. I’ll try running more tPvP matches, since it does not sound like I’ll be able to reliably teamed with my wife. In fact, if you’re married, (or anyone else who is married who has come across this thread and wants to play with your spouse) you’re welcome to fill out 2 of the slots on my soon to be created tPvP husband/wife squad. Named, “Until death do us part.”
@ JonathanSharp
But we sync well together when we play in tPvP. The problem is we do not sync well with the other 3. In sPvP if us two were paired it’s not enough to decide the outcome of the battle. Also, the othe.r team is just as out of sync as my team since it’s random.
@ Sezu
Were a bit too casual for tPvP and we get crushed by premades.
@ nldixon
Being able to play sPvP with my wife would make this game a lot more enjoyable.
I am put on a different team than my wife almost every time we join sPvP. Our encounters in sPvP actually leads to real life arguments. Whenever I target her she accuses me of “singling her out.” Now I admit, I do single her out sometimes, but that’s mainly because she always accuses me of singling her out and killing her (in game) gives me a sense of joy. I get a sense of dominance and control that I do not have in my actual marriage. There’s no way around not pvping her because when she sees me playing she wants to join me, even though I would rather not fight her. I can’t say no or else she’ll accuse me of having more fun when she’s not around or having more fun when playing with women other than her.
It would be nice if I could join with at least one other person, my wife. If that can’t be done, please make it so that I’m on teams with her at least 90% of the time. I notice when were on teams, were often communicating. Which actually helps out the communication in our marriage.
Thanks in advance
I would like it if warriors felt more fluid.
I definitely think quickness should stay in the game for warriors as is.
100 blades is easy to counter. I got killed by it plenty of times. Now I make sure every build I play has enough stability to counter the initial stun and get away.
The main issue with thieves isn’t necessarily a thief issue. I can get away from the stun just like I can against warriors. The problem is when it takes too long for them to appear out of stealth after they attack, and all you see are a bunch of red numbers and you don’t see the thief. That’s a server problem. See “player culling.”
Also, the penalty for Haste and Quickening Zephyr should be the same as Frenzy. The QZ “penalty” of not being able to heal is not even a penalty. Since you can determine to use it when you do not need a heal. Haste depletes endurance, but thieves have an even better survivability mechanic in stealth.
As of now, warriors are the only class properly punished for using Frenzy. Engineers are properly punished 1/3 of the time.
Did a search for player culling and I see how it works now. Basically lag can cause player models to take a while to be redrawn after stealthing. So player culling+multiple stealth build=attacking while invisible.
Thanks everyone for your help. But now that I know how it works, I’d feel as if I’d be exploiting if I tried that. I’m going to go for the unfair 1v1 experience the developer’s intended by creating a moa mesmer, lol.
I ran into one a thief in pvp that just kept attacking me while he was stealthed and there was not anything I could do since I do not have AOE. I’ve been trying to do this myself but I keep reappearing after I attack. Is there a certain sequence of moves or traits that make thieves stay invisible? I can’t figure it out how to do it. Thanks in advance.
