I never like 8v8. too much zergs.
may be because I’m thief. I would like it if I’m nec pow.

so.. I like 5v5

down side of 5v5 is 4v5 is a lot more worst than 6v8.

I ll stick with S/P for additional evade benefit from Pistol whip.

I dont like to go down easily and branded as noob while have highest dps.

We need also a button to skip the fights. It is very annoying to have boring fights until you can follow the next dialog.

Stupid comment. Hearing same dialog second time is waste of time, there should be button to skip dialogs.

Maybe the story-favoring people think that about the combat.

Living Story. There it is, right in the name: “Story”. You want combat with no dialogue, run around in the Edge of the Mists. Nonstop fighting, all the time.

This is an RPG. There will be action, and there will be story. You cannot have one without the other. It would then become either an action game, or a graphic novel.

For the example, This thread is all about ‘repeatedly’ for AP.
No one here want to skip story line at first try.
However you dont get this.

They also wide open to take damage. If your DPS is high and you know you cant dodge those. Just try to last stand him with all you have left.

If you equip this Elite skill in to tpvp just because hambo.
especially you going to use it 2sec then press Esc to cancel and dodge….

Why dont you just dodge ham in the first place?
Why bother press Elite if you going to cancel when ham land?
Why you want to be stable if you going to dodge ham manually anyway?

you gave me an idea about poisoning down ppl (to reduce heal effective) that I never use.
(I only have 1 poison from trait: poison on steal and I dont have any condi dmg)

BTW OP, I use Binding powder (Utility) or Black powder (weapon skill#5)
or Shadow step (exclusive for GD XD) before stomp.

As long as they still let ppl in and out quick join freely. Problem still there.
This is the reason I never join Qjoin for fun again after I learned how to play thief until Wolf.

Losing = change room
Wining = got kick to losing team as reward
New comer = wait until some guy on wining team get kick then spam left click to replace him.

Why someone see this kind of match management is ok?

how about Thief job.
- Be annoying
- stick to ele and mes. your job is them. at least put pressure on them.
- Disengage the fight to cap other point or help other if need. Only you can choose when to fight.
- You cant hold point.
- Shadow Refuge rez is always nice.
- Stomp fast. You are born to stomp every class except ele.

As S/P all I know is
‘I just want 2 nice PWs’ and
‘I have 4 sec every time he out of stealth’

Not a great thief myself. However work most of the time.

for me, War hambo bunk.

- just press weapon skill in order to combo stun lock.
- on point, use huge bow aoe
- tough but still be a killer
- auto heal
- ignore dmg for short time
- ignore condi for a short time

You only need your own skill to ignore ‘How cheesy you are’ XD

I have Star and 16500AP. no one ever make fun of me about that when pvp.

Having played that kind of match from both sides(thanks to soloq matching capabilities) , I guarantee you that the thief team is more likely to win.

for me as always Thief ‘IN TPVP’, 3 thieves are bad enough. not to mention 4 or 5.
I’m shark. 1600 match only once my team win as 4 thieves.

Point is…. we can’t hold chit no matter how good we are. XD
Yes we can kill them but not before they eat a lot of score.

Mes is easy, there #2 makes a clone, however any clone generating ability needs a target to cast. So if you stealth stomp a mes they literally can’t do anything. Ele always take 2 tries.

I never play Mes before but as I remember. Down Mes always tele away even I stealth stomp.

Do i miss something here?

You can’t have an ally around you, or a rock dog or something, because then they have a target to cast the clone on

Compared to other characters overcoming three seconds you can not do too much improvisation, Even if all the bonuses you quotes,/ I also noticed the Mesmer too had stealth 3 seconds/Is 30 seconds cooldown, So what’s special about a thief Has it more mobility in battles I’m also skeptical that.

Thief have a lot more stealth skill especially if D/P.

You ll get a picture when you fight a good one in pvp.

As thief in dun, I learn one thing.

Good thief = not die, do a lot stealth rez

Bad thief = die all the time (no one know you have highest dps but when you down everyone see that.)

Against an Hambow warrior use their steal when they start using the shortbow or dagger/storm and if you’re d/d it’s easy to kill them. Just be ready to dodge when they switch to hammer and blind them.

most of the time after he shoot his huge aoe bow. he ll run in to it.
If you use DS you ll soaking with his aoe dmg. while doing kittenty dmg from DS to him.
Use DS on war is like… pls kill me now.

3sec stealth? really?
2 years pass, umm this is kinda OP in some ways.
So I assume you are new with thief.

Tip:
Nature of stealth
- in pvp, whoever targeting you lost target lock on you.
- Also mark call target (red crosshair on your head)
These 2 alone cause confusion to your enemy especially if he has some other thing to target near by (other player, your Thief guild skill) he ll force to auto lock those things and change you from defensive position to offensive again. most of the time I reposition myself behind them to get more advantage from theirs camera angle. (force him to spend sec to turn camera on me)

There are many Trait that apply when stealth.
- stealth longer (1sec)
- cure condi every 3 sec
- run faster
- Heal
- regen Ini faster
- lower stealth skill cooldown
- 100% crit from stealth

Hope this useful if you can understand my crappy eng. :P

you have to know that your leap out at the end also ruin overall DPS which is the point (and also only 1 skill that actually do dmg) of Unload.

Yes condi is Thief weakness. Counter by Trait ‘Shadow Embrace’ in Shadow arts tree.
give you cure any 1 condi every 3sec while in stealth BUT I notice that It ll cure 1 right away when you in stealth and another additional cure in the next 3sec)

Most Thief have problems with hambo.
1. Stun lock by ham
I pop my Utility skill as soon (cant remembr the name) as he hitting on me. (blind him and stealth while I stunning) buy you time to dodge out.

2. Bow: Cheating largest AOE in the game and also deadly.
Most of the time it ll come as package with Immo to make sure you rot in there.
I need Shadow step for that. If it on CD I’m dead.
War shoudnt be swap to melee for a while. that’s is your turn

But if he is a bunker. I just run away right from the start.

First, check your trait.
It was happened to me when I was back. Full Trickery line which I never play that before lol.

Also a lot of Trait changed.
A lot of things change in these 6mths.

The top tier gear is now Ascended (pink gear) same stat as Legendary.

I think Thief is assassinate enough in pvp.

for Nec, War, Ran
pop stealth… stomp
pop BP…. stomp

for Thief
follow Steal

for GD (my fev)
start Stomp animation… Shadow step away…. Shadow return at the end of animation.

I’m Asian. 1toon Beta player as thief PvX.

My ping probably around 200-250.
I feel like no problem at all. but I notice sometime I take a hit while in the first 1/4 of dodge animation.

Also sometime when I press skill. Its take like 1/6 sec or so to pull that off.
This is not a cast time. May be this is what its suppose to be. IDK I never play any where else.

But I’m sure you can have a lot of fun with Thief (and kill a lot of less ping players when pvp)

The answer to your question is Yes. We should respect them.

Repeatedly is an issue. Not even one comment here want to skip at first try.

Most Thief may think I’m lame. Agree, in term of DPS output.
But I down a lot of decent thief with this. (and some luck)

As you can see Signet of movement (the one that give passive 25% movement)
is a bit useless when active.
so basically this rune give me 1 more Utility skill!!!!!!!. no other rune can give me that.

Have to say my PVP life and PVE are a lot better when I replace Signet of movement with Shadow Step.

BP is OP in PVE. make me lazy to do anything else.
I actually want it to only have 80% chance to blind mobs.

That’s why I always charge in yolo champ. (and died of course XD)

I cut turn button out right from the start. (launch date)

A D= strafe
Tab + heal
1234 = Utility
Q=swap
L Alt= look back

Dodge, Steal, all weapon skill on my gaming mouse.

I’m S/P P/P thief.
This is what I do.

- First IS then PW (of course). He ll dodge or run away.

- Second PW with Steal skill will tele me at him wherever he go.

- He get mad, start throwing things and run around lol. heal, turrets.

- But I tele back away where I started. that should burn him at least 30% hp. (He was heal)

- Swap to P/P Unload him from 900away and always move. (not eat grenades, may be some gun and fire turret still can hurt me)

- As soon as he finished being tiny (his invul thing) and I have enough Ini and HP, I switch back to S/P and do my first step.

- At this point, if he isnt down I ll take a lot of DMG from a lot of chit in there.
But I still have 2 stealth left to manage.

This isnt work on condi/bunk though.

I can give you 1 trick for tag a lot of mobs AND SURVIVE that i always use in wvw. (can apply to farm event)

Elite skill: Dagger Storm (of course)
Utility skill: Shadow Step

- First, use DS right where you stand.
dont use in middle of mobs and that point must be safe in the next 8sec

- Then use SS right away. land in the middle of mobs and always move.

- Pay attention at Shadow Return (SS follow skill) time out.
Press return at first spot.

- Heal youself and enjoy lootssssss.

Today I have to help my real friend run ‘World summit’ Story line for AP.
He failed almost 10 times but I’m not here to complain about difficulty. (which is not, for me)

Gameplay is fun and all.
Storyline is ok.
AP hunter have things to do.

But something ruined it all.
Yes your proudly present dialogue that player have to go through repeatedly for each attempt.

World Summit has 5 min dialogue. 10 try = 50 min without AFK. (AC 3 run)

As I recalled Anet always respect player’s time.
like…don’t have to run half map to return quest.

Pls let’s us skip all repeatedly dialogue and straight to the fight.
So we player can use that extra 50min in the game some where else. (and enjoy it)

CON
- laggy especially world boss. You cant do anything cant see anything. except skill 1 spam.
- got my skill lock cant even atk sometime. end up with DC.

PRO
- It’s nice to see tons of new toons new players run in low lv map.

Question: is it worth?
How many hours we spend on new toon in low lv map?

How many hours we spend on world boss hunt?
20 mins each everyday and on.

I like the idea to get ppl see each other working together.
But in reality more likely create situations that i cant play the game.
