Knights of the WhiteWolf
I didn’t even bother trying to queue after reset. I did get into EB earlier today (9 am PST) and it was a mess. No real organization and the lag anytime there was fighting in SM was insane. ANet should have rolled out the overflow WvW map before starting this league and/or adding the achievements because this is no fun at all.
Knights of the WhiteWolf
The screwed up queue is the biggest single reason why there are only 2 active members of my guild (out of 20). The rest stopped playing months ago because we could never get onto the same map during guild nights. That’s after we transferred to (what was then) a low ranked server.

So many funny comments in this thread from people who obviously don’t play Warriors. If they did, a) they’d know that a Warrior’s armor is almost no protection at all and b) Rush is such a buggy skill that its only use is for mobility because it rarely (if ever) actually connects with a target. Changing Rush so that its cooldown was dependent on damage would necessitate that the skill be fixed so that it actually does damage consistently. As it is, no decent Warrior uses that skill to actually attack an enemy.
Knights of the WhiteWolf
All these tears remind me of those that were shed when stealth disruptor traps were about to make their debut. There was a veritable river of tears flowing from the thief sub-forum, but guess what? I’ve yet to see one used and thieves’ stealth is as powerful as ever. This change to sic ’em will amount to the same thing. An ability few, if any, rangers will slot and if they do, will be marginally useful against any half-way decent thief that has put 30 points into shadow arts. It will be an inconvenience at best, not a class destroying skill as being portrayed in this thread.
Just be thankful that ANet isn’t changing cloaked in shadow, then thieves really would be hosed.

Right now, rush works better for traveling and escaping fights. As an offensive tool, it’s highly inconsistent; ironically you’re better off using it to CREATE a gap, rather than close one.
There is so much truth to what you say. There have been so many times when I’ve used Rush to close a gap, only to see my character run past the target, turn around, attack & miss. Now I’ve learned that I can’t have a target when I use it as a gap closer or else I slow myself down.
Knights of the WhiteWolf
No, my point is, upscaling isn’t fair atm. Higher level players shouldn’t be weaker than low lvl characters, but they are. It isn’t okay that lvl10-20 toons are more viable for wvw then higher lvl ones.
The people you fought were not very skilled, that is why you won those fights. Upscaling and/or character strength has nothing to do with it.
Knights of the WhiteWolf
BG has quite few roamers. We would like to see more roamers join SoR and JQ. SoR has been producing more, but not enough!
You mean BG has quite a few havoc squads.
If that is what you want to call 2-5 man groups, sure… Call it whatever you like!
1-2 mans could be considered roaming for the sake of clarity. Anything above that should be considered a havoc squad.
If that is the case then T1 has almost no roamers; they are mostly all havoc squads.
I’m a roamer. Typically by myself or with the last remaining guildie that still ventures out into WvW. We occasionally run into enemy roamers, but far too often we encounter enemy groups of 5 or more.
Oh, and we cap camps all the time without other friendlies. Not every camp is flipped by a zerg.
Knights of the WhiteWolf
After spending over an hour in queue, I can see that roaming is going to be tough this week. I got a few fights in tonight, but there just weren’t that many SBI or SoS out roaming. Apologies to the SBI Knight I was fighting on the shore outside of bay that got ran over. I tried to stop them, but they didn’t listen.
Knights of the WhiteWolf
Nice production on the video. Looking forward to seeing more.
Knights of the WhiteWolf
But for the solo or duo roamers, now worse.
This is exactly what I’ve experienced since the patch. Solo & duo roaming is dead.
For the record, I’m on a T1 NA server and really dislike the bloodlust change.

I’m on SoR and have little to no que most nights after 10
I’m on SoR and for the past two nights have had the outmanned buff on at least one map by 7:30-8:00 pm PST.
And there’s still plenty of zergs out.
Knights of the WhiteWolf
As a solo/duo roamer, the new terrain is cool and I’d love to try fighting in it, but it seems that we ran into nothing but 5-15 man groups roaming the capture points. After two days of playing with the bloodlust bonuses I’m not impressed, nor am I particularly motivated to enter WvW anymore. I don’t think I’m the only person from my (T1) server that isn’t enjoying the new patch. For the past two nights we’ve had the outmanned buff on at least one map during NA prime time.
Knights of the WhiteWolf
So far this patch has done nothing to help solo/duo roamers. It’s actually made it worse because the points are being taken by 5+ man groups. Not to mention the 15+ man groups that zerg the points.
Haven’t noticed the PPT change much at all even when the larger groups are running around the points.
Knights of the WhiteWolf
So far I my impression of this patch is that it did nothing for the solo/duo roamers (like me) and has made 5+ man groups that much more important. Still seeing 15+ man groups zerg the points, too.
Knights of the WhiteWolf
Not really impressed with it.
Knights of the WhiteWolf
Daecollo and Excalibur in the same thread, oh noes.
The king of terrible suggestions and the queen of “I’m too bad to counter this simple thing, nerf it plox”.throws bags of Asuran Popcorns to everyone
Pretty much this. I’m not even sure why I opened this thread.
Knights of the WhiteWolf
RIOT complaining about zergs when they 5v1 you with their gank squad. All I have to say is lol.
Solo roamers unite!
Quoted for truth.
Knights of the WhiteWolf
Congrats Indo. Plenty of haters in this thread, but I’m sure you wouldn’t have it any other way.
Knights of the WhiteWolf
Pretty nice video. It’s hard to find small engagements like that in T1.
Knights of the WhiteWolf
There are some pretty nice fights shown.
Knights of the WhiteWolf
Wonderful. This, along with issue of events not starting in overflows, makes this chapter of the living story even more annoying.
Knights of the WhiteWolf
This happened to me as well. Pretty lame.
Knights of the WhiteWolf
Nope, it was the egg. I mean where’d the chicken come from without an egg?
no the chicken came first by way of non egg birth but with the genetic mutation that allowed that chicken to lay eggs.
or if you are a creationist…God made a chicken. lol
So wrong.
Knights of the WhiteWolf
what warrior build ?
The one that beat him.
Knights of the WhiteWolf
@avexis. Not sure who you’re talking to, but I’m in T1 NA and this build has been working for me now that I’m familiar with the skills & when to use them.
Oh, last I checked, TC was not in T1.
Knights of the WhiteWolf
That may be the case in zerg vs zerg fights, but in solo & small group roaming conditions are viable.
Knights of the WhiteWolf
I finished collecting the gear for this build last night & tested it out. My first few encounters did not end up well probably because I wasn’t familiar with the skills and the optimal time to use them. Running into some stealth abusing thieves right off the bat didn’t help either. My first impression was that I didn’t think this build could handle the current T1 roaming environment.
Continued trying the build today and I’m doing better now that I’m more used to the skills. Managed to win some 1v1s & a 2v1 that I don’t think I would have with my old build. Probably the funniest encounter of the day was a thief that twice tried to take me but ended up stealthing & running.
It doesn’t have the mobility I’m used to having from greatsword, but I’ll get used to it. It seems to do well in small group fights, too.
Knights of the WhiteWolf
Nice video Oozo.
Knights of the WhiteWolf
Interestingly enough, I just woke from a dream in which I told a guildie, “BG roamers are everywhere…” Also, Pox, I’ve found it is possible to take out a yak or sentry, but try to solo a camp, and anywhere from 2-6 BG will show up, it seems.
In a typical evening I take out the yaks, sentries, and camps of both opposing servers on my own. You just gotta know which camps are more likely to draw enemies.

I just saw this from postcount. Its hilarious
As a solo/small-man roamer, that comic accurately depicts my WvW experience.
Knights of the WhiteWolf
Hahaha!!!
You know this has been what’s happening for this matchup. We just need to be a bit more faster to take stuff >3<
You guys have been persistent in your attempts to take hills this morning.

I played it tonight & felt like thieves & mesmers focused me down as fast as they ever have. Any time I got even a hint of an upper hand, they used their tricks to avoid damage, reset the fight, and then started it up again on their terms.
Necromancers have mediocre offensive capabilities and nearly zero defensive capabilities. Rather than concern yourself with making them too defensive, why don’t you focus on the classes that are exceptional at both?
Knights of the WhiteWolf
Just want to give props to DB for the fights as we defended Hills tonight on their BL. Had lots of fun.

I can see you yourself are unfamiliar with American population demographics as nearly 70% of Americans live on the East or West Coast. 39% (123 million people) live in counties directly on the water.
You do realize that Texas, Ohio, Illinois, and Michigan are all in the Mid-West.
I was going to ask if you were even from America, then I realize with your poor grasp of geography and demographics you can only be a product of American public education.
Yes they are in the midwest. They take up a large chunk of the remaining 30%. Doesn’t dispute what I stated.
Have some knowledge in your eye, more like 50%
Some folks are just noisierhttp://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_U.S._states_and_territories_by_population
Wow you’re not getting it. I’m not disputing those 4 states are some of the most populous. I’m saying add up the population of the states bordering the East Coast and West Coast and 70% of the population lives there. It’s not up for dispute. Facts are facts. There are large isolated cities like Dallas, KC, Houston, Chicago, Minneapolis but they are surrounded by nothing unlike on the coasts. From DC to Boston is one big megalopolis. It’s almost one constant long city with very small gaps between.
The bolded is confusing and possibly untrue. What criteria are you using to define the east/west coast? Do you mean the states immediately adjacent to the Atlantic/Pacific Oceans? Or do you mean the states that fall within the Eastern/Pacific time zones? Part of the problem here is that you’re using terminology that is open to interpretation.
Regardless, the population of the Pacific time zone is a drop in the bucket when compared to Central & Eastern time zone populations. Google is your friend. Admittedly, those numbers are out of date, but percentages should be somewhat the same. If you combine Central & Eastern populations, then you’re looking at roughly 70% of the US population. If you looking at Eastern & Pacific populations, then you’re looking at roughly 50% of the US population.
As for the italicized sentence, this 2010 US Census map only partially supports your claim. Dallas & Huston are certainly surrounded by less densely populated areas, but none of the named cities are “surrounded by nothing.”
This 2011 US Census map shows the population estimate without the counties, which gives a different picture of population distribution altogether.
Knights of the WhiteWolf
For the challenge.
Knights of the WhiteWolf
I’m having the same problem as well. Downloading 0KB/sec sucks.
Knights of the WhiteWolf
So you’re the warrior I ran into yesterday by SoR’s tower on Blackgate borderland. At first I thought it was a mirror match, but seeing your build I now know why my Skull Crack didn’t last as long on you. I pushed my luck & you got me. On one hand I’m relieved I didn’t see myself in the video, but on the other hand it would be interesting to see the fight from your perspective to learn from it.
Good video though, looking forward to seeing more. Your ranger video inspired my to level one (got him to 80 just before the patch), now this and Matale’s videos are keeping my warrior interest alive.
Knights of the WhiteWolf
Nice to see some more Necro videos from you Oozo. Look forward to a video or post explaining the build.
It’s a pretty straight-forward 30/10/0/0/30 build so I won’t be so presumptuous as to try to name it after myself.
Weapons: Axe/Focus & Dagger/Dagger
The offhand dagger is for AoE weakness.
30 Spite: Spiteful Talisman, Axe Training, Close to Death
10 Curses: Weakening Shroud
30 Soul Reaping: Unyielding Blast, Near to Death, Deathly PerceptionI might end up switching Near to Death to Mark of Revival to help with revives.
My guesses based on watching the video were very close … 10 points less in Soul Reaping, 10 more in Curses. What stats for the gear?
Knights of the WhiteWolf

Knights of the WhiteWolf
Thanks for posting the videos. I might give a variation of this a try.
Knights of the WhiteWolf
I’ll read all the comments later. Just wanted to say that I thought video was pretty good; wish I could get those kinds of 1v1s in the match ups I’m in.
The thing I really wanted to comment on was that your video demonstrates just how bugged the pathing is for Bullrush. I hope some ANet developer watches it & sees how bad it is.
Knights of the WhiteWolf
It wasn’t a bad clip, but not what I expected. When I read the title I expected to see something similar to what’s shown in this video: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tI7ouz1xt9E
Get outa here wich yo evasive ranger. I’m getting jelly of your evades
Good luck doing something like that with a warrior. You’ll get imobed to death before you start doing damage. Your best bet for a 3v1 is kiting them around walls and LOSing the heck out of them, just spamming ES. Even then you’re so susceptible to damage.
I main a Warrior, so know full well how difficult 1vXs are. I linked that video because it highlights the difference between Warrior sustain & Ranger sustain.
Also, that isn’t me in the video!

Protip, he’s not standing in the black powder, he’s hearseekering through it. Stand in the BP and force him to hit you with the heart seeker to bust his stealth..
Don’t know if you noticed, but the black powders were going off pretty far away from where the OP was standing. Not sure how he was supposed to teleport to the BP spot.
Knights of the WhiteWolf
L2Read?
In no where did I mention that rifle warriors are meant to 1v1 thief , the OP was complaining about not being able to burst thief down with an entire group of 10-15.
Rifle warrior has THE highest ranged class in the game, and can blow up a thief up in the time he is revealed.
L2Watch Video.
As Oozo pointed out, the thieves were never visible, so there was no chance to use Volley or Killshot.
Knights of the WhiteWolf
Speaking from experience, do not try running a Necro heavy group in WvW.
Knights of the WhiteWolf
I dunno what was going on, but about an hour ago the lag on JQ BL is unplayable. Lots of people (myself included) were getting DC’d anytime there was a big fight.
Knights of the WhiteWolf
Last night there were a couple of times when I used Whirlwind Attack while standing right next to some enemy. I went through them all, but did no damage to them.
