Toughness increases Armor in the same way that Defense from armor items increases Armor …. however the damage/damage-mitigation formula in general remains a mystery.

Trait: Inspiring Banners.

Doesn’t increase the area of bonuses given out by banner skills. Although the reduced cooldown time portion of the trait works.

This is not true, I specifically tested this and the radius increases is working properly

Good idea!

Sure-Footed: seems to effect Frenzy (~5 seconds) and Berserker Stance (10 seconds), but not Endure Pain (4 seconds) .

This is not a bug with Sure-Footed but rather a bug with Endure Pain not lasting 5 seconds as a base ability.

I figure it would be a lot easier for AN if we consolidate our list of both confirmed & suspected (i.e. unable to confirm/deny) bugs … and such a list would likely lead to fixes sooner rather than later.

Weapon Skills



  • Main Hand Sword – Savage Leap:
    “Lunge at your foe, striking them with your sword (range:600)”
    Unable to damage targets which are at lower elevations (Z-axis) than the Warrior due to leaping at a point above the target’s head.
  • Greatsword – Bladetrail:
    “Throw your greatsword at your foe so that it returns to you, crippling foes along the way”
    Will not return if the path of the projectile intersects with any solid object (unclear if intended)
  • Shield – Shield Stance:
    “Blocks attacks (for 3 seconds)”
    Stance icon lasts for 6 seconds whereas the effect lasts for only 3.


Utility Skills



  • Endure Pain (stance):
    “Take no damage from incoming attacks (for 5 seconds)”
    Actual stance duration is not 5 seconds, but rather closer to 3 seconds.
    When used in conjunction with the trait “Discipline VIII – Vigorous Focus”, the player is provided Vigor for a duration that significantly exceeds the stance duration, whereas all other stances receive Vigor for a duration equal to that of the stance
  • Vengeance (downed skill)
    If the player dies during Vengeance and uses a waypoint before the Vengeance duration ends, the player will be killed a second time when the Vengeance duration expires.


Traits



  • Strength V – Berserker’s Power :
    “Increases damage based on how much adrenaline you ahve built (3%/7%/12%)”
    Does not display any increase in damage in the character screen (unable to test)
  • Strength pt.#25 – Stick and Move :
    “Get a damage bonus when endurance not full”
    Reveals strange/inconsistent icon compared to all other fixed trait icons
    Does not display any increase in damage in the character screen (unable to verify)
  • Strength XI – Physical Training :
    “Physical utility skills do 100% more damage and recharge 20% faster”
    Does not display increase in damage in tooltips. (however cooldown tooltips do update and damage dealt does appear to increase)
  • Arms VII – Crack Shot :
    “Rifle and Harpoon shots pierce. Rifle and Harpoon skills recharge 20% faster”
    Reduces the cooldown in the tooltip but does not reduce the actual cooldown of the Rifle skill “Volley”.
  • Defense III – Sure-Footed :
    “Increases stance duration by 25%”
    Does not increase the duration of “Balanced Stance”
  • Defense VIII – Last Stand :
    “Activates Balanced Stance when you are dazed, knocked down, launched, pushed back, or stunned.”
    Does not activate in PvE (need confirmation if this bug also exists in PvP because I vaguely remember it working correctly in PvP)
  • Tactics VI – Empowered :
    “Increases damage for every boon on you”
    Does not display any increase in damage in character screen nor any tooltips. (unable to verify trait). Provides insufficient information to the player.
  • Discipline pt.#15 – Fast Hands :
    “Weapon swapping recharges 5 seconds faster.”
    Does not always provide a reduced swap cooldown. The initial weapon swap receives no cooldown reduction.
  • Discipline V – Heightened Focus :
    “Gain a 2% critical-hit chance for 1 stage of adrenaline, 5% for 2 stages, and 9% for 3 stages.”
    Does not display any increase in crit rate in the character screen (unable to verify)
  • Discipline VII – Sweet Revenge :
    “100% chance to rally if you kill someone while in Vengeance.”
    Does not appear to be working correctly; there have been multiple occasions where I killed the mob or player I was fighting, but the Vengeance buff stayed on me and I died as normal when it ended.

the “Sure-footed” trait from the Defense line is also bugged.
already made a post in the bug forums and reported in-game during the headstart.

I thought so! Could never prove it though. I’m also pretty sure that the defense trait to automatically cast Endure Pain when dropping below 25% doesn’t work either. Never seen it go off. Also, I think the duration of Endure Pain is lasting much shorter than the 5 seconds it is supposed to last.

How important are crits?

Base crit damage is 150%, so 2000 with 70% crit rate and +0% crit damage is 2700 average.

Good to know. Context of relativity still stands though, naturally.

GS just to use 3 and 5 to run away /chase, and axe/shield GW1 style.

This is why GS is pretty much mandatory in WvW. Not the damage, the escape.

use sword n board as backup to the greatsword. it buys me enough time for the greatsword cooldowns to come back up, preferably using bash before switching.

I recommend trying Axe/Shield instead of Sword/Shield to backup a Greatsword. I used to use Sword/Shield too thinking the bleeds and a root would offset the GS nicely …. but I’ve changed my opinion entirely. The Greatsword ‘burst’ ability is garbage since you should have fury already, and the Axe MH finisher is by far the best one handed Burst skill. The sword Burst ability is just too impractical and bleeds get wiped too easy. In addition Axes just hit harder than Swords, Sword Hamstring/Leap/Burst skills seem to miss way more often without resetting the cooldown, and axes provide better mobility.

I was getting over 5k crits with my Axe finisher this morning in WvW. You don’t have to sacrifice all damage when swapping in a shield. It’s deceptively powerful.

Any Warrior not using a shield in PvP deserves every death. “Shield Stance” is one of the most powerful PvP abilities in the game.

How important are crits?

Just like EVERY other game. It is all relative to your stats & effects. The higher the ‘crit rate’, the more valuable ‘power’ and ‘crit damage’ become. The higher the ‘power’ rating, the more valuable ‘crit rate’ and ‘crit damage’ become.

e.g.
- an Attack total of 2000 with 70% crit rate and +0% crit damage = 3400 average damage
- an Attack total of 2000 with 50% crit rate and +30% crit damage = 3300 average damage
- an Attack total of 3000 with 20% crit rate and +0% crit damage = 3600 average damage

If you are deep into the Tactics tree then you are likely getting +20-30% crit damage already from traits, so it becomes a good idea to have a good crit rate to make use of that stat.

It’s when you have miscellaneous effects like “33% chance on crit to bleed target” that things really get confusing. My personal opinion is that too many effects are based on proccing off crits, so it’s best to have at least a 30% unbuffed crit rate, then try to keep fury up at all times.

Banners ticked for 130 health with 0 in HP and 255 with 998 in HP.

Healing Signet was 200 per tick with 0 and 233 with 998 points in HP.

Adrenal Health was not affected by HP and did 125 – 240 – 360 for the three stages of adrenaline.

Yup, sounds exactly like my tests I’ve done. The conclusions is that Healing Power is essentially worthless on Warriors. Don’t bother. You are better off trading it for Toughness or Vitality in every circumstance.

That 998 pts in Vitality will give you +9,980 health, which would take a very long time to recover even when using all potential heals, and all without using a single utility or trait slot.

"Tactics" trait line bug?

I can’t be the only one who has noticed that the Tactics trait line is the only Trait option that gives a buff FOR EVERY 10 TRAIT POINTS instead of for every single trait point. On top of that, it offers a pathetic “+1% damage to Burst Skills per 10 trait points” for a whopping +3% damage for maxing out the Trait line.

This is obviously a bug. The real question is if this is just a tooltip bug or if that is the actual bonus being given.

Warrior Kinda Boring?

I find the diversity of abilities on my Warrior to be extremely lacking. Almost all the utility skills serve as buffs, and most of the #4/#5 abilities are on loooong cooldowns…. so we end up with essentially;

2 auto-attacks
2 “burst” skills
4 short CD abilities
4 long CD abilities
5 buffs/heals/banners

Compare to elementalists that get 20 abilities on a single weapon, a ton of active utility skills, and an array of potential weapon utilities that grant an additional 5 abilities each.

The Warrior class just feels like the most restricted class in terms of the variety of active abilities.

Greatsword's "Rush."

Would be nice if they just turned the skill into a line rush with damage to targets within range during the skill.

Like a “Path of Righteousness” type skill from Hellgate London

Then we could use Bladetrail, WW, Rush and pass through targets 3 times

This is a much bigger issue than it sounds, applies to nearly all targeted gap closers (see: Rush, MH sword’s Leap, etc.), & happens way too often.

Hammer Warriors

The #1 reason why Hammer will always be inferior to GS in PvP is that detargeted GS abilities provide for amazing escapability … while Hammers have only an awkward casted knockback and a short range ‘burst’ leap, both of which are pretty ineffective for escaping.

If you use Bull’s Charge to initiate instead of Rush, then you can detarget, turn, and Rush+Whirlwind your way WELLLLLL out of range of any enemy. This perk for the GS gives Warriors the best escapability in WvW and is yet another reason the Hammer just cannot compete with the GS.

1) Could you add a column in the ‘Devtracker’ for the subforum in which the response is given?

2) (This has almost assuredly been mentioned but it warrants being repeated) Could we please be allowed to “Return to the page previously visited” after logging in on these forums? Especially since the option to stay logged in has been confirmed will not be offered.

3) This is a long-shot… but I think a upvote/downvote option for threads and comments (a la Reddit.com) would drastically improve the forum in the long term; for filtering purposes considering how many threads there will eventually be.

While I disagree on the damage, I definitely agree that it needs usability changes.

1) The range bleed needs a crisper cast, sound/animation, and the secondary effect needs to be MUCH easier to use.

2) Block/parry abilities in general need their responsiveness improved with an option to interrupt casting. They should be much more skill-based reactionary abilities, not slow to cast queued abilities which makes them very counter-intuitive.

3) The sword leap is great, but really awkward and won’t hit targets that are on even a slightly lower elevation.

4) Hamstring should not go on such a long cooldown if it misses all targets.

5) The “burst” ability should similarly not go on such a long cooldown if it misses all targets, and should be cancelable much earlier. As it works now, if you attempt to use it and miss, you will be rooted for a few seconds.

Mystic forge took my items but didn't give me a reward

- I used all crafted earrings both times.
- all earrings green quality and same level

can confirm the Forge does read “found a match!” but produces nothing, items just vanish
