No you don’t suck.
The person above was actually complimenting you.
It takes a lot to come out and admit publicly what you did and apologize for it.
Please know the apology was appreciated!

Farewell KN…
I hope we are able to meet again soon
/salute
/bow
Hopefully DB will make Tier 2 more competitive otherwise TC will find themselves in KN’s shoes weeks before. Weeks of PVDoor with no end is not really enjoyable.
I fully expect DB to improve things compared to this week:
- I believe both [RE] and [Agg] are fans of GvG which should make FA happy.
- DB’s SEA is quite solid and I’m sure TC’s new Guilds can’t wait for a chance to face them.
- DB just comes out and fights. It’s in their “Server DNA” so to speak. It’s what they do. No matter how things go I expect them to keep bringing it. It’s just who they are.
I’ll still miss KN. They were great and classy opponents. I really wish all the best to them.
Click the Big Red +1 Button…
…and hope many others do too!
Certainly the lore was never meant to be “loosely” tacked on (your words, not mine).
Yeah sorry that was more in reply to Issac:
Of course, all that stuff came later. If you beta tested GW1, you would know the PvP was the main draw. They had working random arenas before they had all those nice story missions.
PvP is (relatively) much easier to implement than PvE. Those Story Missions required Scripted Events, Mob Pathing, AI, Cutscenes, Voice-overs, and NPC Interactions, not to mention they take place on much larger Maps than the Battle Arenas (and those Maps all needed to be custom-created as well).
Read Chaba’s reply to me Issac. He stated it really well. ANet really put a lot of effort into both PvE and PvP in their games. If all they cared about was the PvP they wouldn’t have bothered making all the Maps, Missions, Quests, and Lore.
The Guild Wars lore is meant as back story for guilds in-game and the PvP/GvG/etc. style of play.
Forge, LoL – those are great examples of games designed specifically for PvP/GvG style of play with the “lore” loosely tacked on.
Anybody who played through all of the GW Campaigns and the Bonus Story Missions knows that ANet is just as passionate and committed to their Story, Lore, and Background and the “RPG” side of the game.
The care and detail they put into the world they created (Gwen’s Grave in Ebonhawke for example) shows that it is a lot more than “just some stuff tacked on” like you find in other games.
I’m not saying that GvG wasn’t popular (it was) or that GW wasn’t known for its PvP (it was) – I’m just saying the PvE side of the game and the rich Lore and Story elements they put into it were seriously under-appreciated.
This is completely wrong. ArenaNet designed an action mmorpg game with full intentions for guild vs guild and player vs player combat.
Guild Wars does not simply refer to “the lore”. All of that stuff came later. We know GW1 was very much a PVP game as ArenaNet held GvG tournaments and such. So yes Guild Wars does in fact refer to GvG among other things.
Interesting…
So you are telling me the copy of The Flameseeker Prophecies that came in the game I got, the entire story that plays out in the Prophecies campaign, all the cutscenes, the voice acting… none of that “existed” before the game was released?
Are you sure about that?
(edited by Rackhir Tanelorn.9123)
This game is called GuildWars2, if you scared off GvG or “too busy to GvG”, go play Hello Kitty Online please.
Thanks for this opportunity for some of us on TC to show our expertise!
The “Guild Wars” in the title of the game have absolutely nothing to do with Guild vs. Guild combat but instead refers to a period of Tyrian History: http://wiki.guildwars.com/wiki/The_Guild_Wars
Thanks again for a chance to share the deep lore and history ANet has created for this game!
EDIT: And Issac that is incorrect the first GW game (Prophecies) released with a book with the history of Tyria. ANet has always been committed to having a rich history and background in which their games take place.

Everybody,
Please remember that both “Trolling” and “Flaming” are Reportable Offenses and reporting such posts is a far more effective way to deal with them than responding.
Thanks!
Oh no! Someone from TC says something in party chat, must constantly bring it up because it’s, quite frankly, breaking news and everyone has to know! Oh no, oh no, oh no!
Well… in the case of the most recent Score Update from Tallis it’s true!
(nice job there Tallis – I agree with what you said about KN and wish only the best for them
)
TC if you love us you will let us go. :*(
If they love you back, they’ll return on their own. ^^
I’ll just return to haunt you all as the ghost of Kaineng past.
As long as the haunting includes more “At Work Artwork” I’m good with that!
Yes! From a fellow kaineng player I think CO should seriously consider blackgate. They are just a bunch of classy people . And besides SoR and JQ is an already stacked server.
Most people are leaning towards SoR though.
If your fear is having to assume a leadership role or carry BG NA that isn’t the case.
They still have a very solid NA just not as strong as SoR.
[CO] is looking to transfer, unsure about our destination. Open to options. Contact me here or shoot me a mail in-game if you would like to propose your server and why.
Want to move up?
Go to BG. SoR is stacked in NA and JQ is just simply stacked period.
(besides… Epic Matchup Thread! You already know BG are teh awesomez!)
Want to stay in T2?
Go to DB. They just got a small influx to their NA but it is their weakest timezone. They are a fun group.
Want to try something lower?
Yak’s Bend are awesome, absolutely loved facing them. They have “T1 Hearts” but have always lacked numbers.
I’m sure there are many other great Servers I didn’t name but these are my suggestions based on personal experience fighting them.
Best of luck wherever you end up.
As a result though, they are unable to play for nearly as long as players in Pacific. This is not quibbling over a short amount of time – east coast players who might only play ’til midnight or 1am have most of their evening wasted waiting around for reset, then can only play for two or three hours. Even an extra hour earlier (6pm Pacific) would make a significant difference to them.
If not being on immediately at reset were genuinely that much more of a problem, compared to being able to play for the maximum time possible, don’t you think that the Oceanic players would’ve been up in arms for the past months?
The trouble I have with your statement is on the most populated Tiers/Servers those West Coast people previously got home only to waste most of their evening sitting in queue while listening to their East Coast friends and Guildmates playing in WvW on Reset until those people were done for the night – leaving “Reset sloppy seconds” as it were for West Coast players.
This way at least most everybody in NA has a chance to play during the most exciting 2-3 hours immediately following Reset.
And also Oceanics were able to get on at Reset (8am AUS/10am SEA Saturday) till this past week (6am AUS/8am SEA Saturday).
I think the most important takeaway from this is Devon said it would be a priority and it actually happened.
While I’m sure some of the other things he’s said are a priority (re-evaluating wXP Rewards for example) might be more complicated and take longer – it still bodes well to know that it just might happen, and sooner than 8 months from now.
I am in no way saying the new Reset time is perfect or ideal for people on the East Coast, but at least you can be there right at Reset for an hour or two – an option West Coast players simply don’t have at all with a 5pm PT Reset.
Yep FA has its Recruitment Thread up again for SEA/Oceanic/EU (as it should) as the goal for all T2 Servers (heck all Servers if possible) is to have as much balanced Coverage as possible.
I do find it sad to see JQ already trying to recruit KN Guilds as they are the only Server in NA that really doesn’t need any more Coverage :P
It will be 6pm Pacific/9pm Eastern during the Winter when the US is off Daylight Savings.
For those perhaps unaware NA West Coast has a very sizable gaming population with work schedules frequently going till 5-6pm not including a potentially horrid commute.
5pm wasn’t a particularly viable Reset time for the West Coast to participate at all. You didn’t hear much whining about it because before it was a global reset. But with the Regions split it really does make sense that ANet would want to allow all of NA to actually be able to participate, however much that does inconvenience EU players on NA Servers.
The same thing applies with the EU Reset time. The goal should be to allow as many in the EU as possible to participate. It is a fun, exciting “Special Event” completely unique to WvW and I for one am very happy so many more people are going to be able to be a part of it!
Wouldn’t it make more sense to revert NA reset time to the original 0000GMT (0100BST or 0000UTC) for those of us that are in the EU but play in NA servers with a server full of friends???
No, simply because now with separate Region Resets ANet can set NA at a time that allows the West Coast of NA to have a shot at getting in after work too.
I don’t mean to sound harsh but including NA West Coast at Reset is far more important than allowing EU NA players to.
I haven’t heard any confirmation that WM is going anywhere, but it seems to be a popular rumor going around.
CO is leaving.
Where are they going?
WM and CO leaving Kain. In other news, how is everyone doing today? Keep it classy T2!
We have heard this before. Do you think they are gonna leave and to where?
There have been strong hints that WM is going to EU (not sure where in EU though).
This is the first I’ve heard about CO moving.
I will miss Kaineng they were great and classy opponents.
Hopefully both TC and FA can continue to work on improving things here as we are likely to be together for a loooooooong time.
Omg!!!
This is AWESOME!!!
Thanks Devon and WvW Krewe you are fantastic!!!
I have a question; has TC ever had the outmanned buff ever?!
Many, many, many times.
Even as recently as a few weeks ago in FABL midweek NA Primetime.
(as Sab said we still get outmanned in various time slots almost every day even though it isn’t as bad as it used to be overnight).
Honestly this might have something to do with the troubles between our Servers. By the time FA joins TC in a Tier we are already fairly solidly established in it. FA isn’t around for the weeks and weeks and weeks of TC fighting out-manned against stacked opponents.
I still laugh when some on FA claim TC is “Tier 1 Ready” – we fought both BG and SoR with all their transfers and all their “fairweathers” right before they moved up to T1 so we already know we aren’t really close to T1 Coverage yet.
Both TC and FA have slogged their way up the ladder. Both Servers went through weeks and weeks of getting pummeled. Neither Server had it easy. And both knows what it takes to stay in it for the long haul.
(edited by Rackhir Tanelorn.9123)
yay.. T3 next week… i just hope that we have people to play against during SEA/Oceanic… our NA crew will get their fair play ground at last….
Yaks might have some…
I don’t remember Mags having any SEA/Oceanic to speak of but it’s not my normal timezone so could be wrong /shrug
Why not have resets every 56 hours?
That way each timezone gets a turn in their primetime every week, and will shake up the mix a bit more often.
I don’t think that would be so good…
Whichever Region got the “Primetime Weekend” Reset would be considered the only “real” match while the two weekday ones would be afterthoughts.
It would be true if we did run two commanders.
Then I guess just take it as a compliment that TC sees you even when you aren’t there!!!
AVTR is by far the commanding influence during this timeslot. Their meta-game is smart, they can maximize ppt by splitting up and hitting multiple objectives, they have one major zergball running on one map and a decent zerg running in another. They also hop maps to reinforce each other really well.
Though I love the shoutout, AVTR has been and is a 50man guild. With at most in our prime days with 20 online at most.
20 people doesn’t equal a zerg ball + decent zerg on another…
Numbers are always subjective and hard to confirm, and I think this was mostly written during the “Culling Era” where it was even harder.
If you regularly run with 2 Commanders on multiple maps leading mixed forces it would still apply
In case you guys haven’t figured it out yet…
This Strat was developed and implemented before we received a single Transfer.
It even shows ZN as part of FA in the plan.
While Coverage is a factor in WvW it isn’t the only one.
A “game plan” can be very effective. Far more effective than some on FA seem to want to accept.
TC zerg attempts to take Hills. (Please note Mesmer in background trying to yank the enemy off the top of the wall):
Nice to see our stacking is improving though it still takes us too long to gather.
The zerg also developed a tail and there were a few chasers going off on their own.
Failed TC attack wipes out all the poultry at Spiritholme in FA BL. No more Kaineng Fried Chicken for 2 weeks while stocks recover.
Forget the kittens, think of the chickens.
I did…
omnomnomnomnom!!!
@lordkrall
Please read and understand my whole post.
A Midnight EU Reset is still pretty crappy for the EU and crappy for NA.
Rotating the Reset Time between 17:00 UTC and 00:00 UTC each week would allow BOTH regions to experience a Prime-Time Reset.
To early to conclude that FA will go down. They are not bad players. They are strong and tenacious. The same goes with kaineng. These worlds will probably stay here for a longer time.
With the numbers DB is now putting up it is highly likely they will be moving up (currently all the way up to Rank 5/Tier 2 Blue).
KN and FA are both likely to dominate T3 if they drop down creating a “revolving door” between T2 and T3 barring any other Server Implosions/Explosions/Migrations/Shake-Ups.
I think a much simpler solution is to just have Reset rotate between Friday 11am Server (18:00 UTC) and 5pm Server (00:00 UTC Saturday) each week.
Both Major Regions can enjoy “Prime Time Reset” and Oceanic/SEA gets a decent Saturday Morning Reset again every other week.
Hopefully FA can get a 20v20 in tier 3.
If we end up going, I don’t foresee us being there long
Yeah right now looks like there’s going to be a lot of “T2-T3 Ping Pong” for the foreseeable future :P
@Snowreap
If you were responding to me I think you completely missed what I was saying.
My Server had the best Reset in months likely because we have very good coverage and are less-dependent on large Guilds. That wasn’t the point:
- Reset Night is the only “WvW Special Event” in the game.
- Guilds thrive on these “special events”
- The Reset Change severely damaged that
- Less participation is bad for the Guilds and the game
ANet should be doing things to encourage player and Guild participation, not discourage it. A rotating Reset Time does that for all Regions. This bullkitten solution doesn’t.
Looks like FA is recovering from a pretty bad reset night!
FA is still going to T3 at this rate, but it’s much, much closer than yesterday: FA only loses -28 rating now instead of -55 yesterday.
Do you ever stop talking crap?
Day 2 of 7.
The “Pot/Kettle” level of this post is simply off the charts >.>
It is good to see FA hasn’t given up on the week.
Who little ol’ me?
Haha, its nice to know your server trolls are breeding new ones.
Dont get sucked it Rak, you’re better than that.
Sorry my “Irony Meter” just asploded seeing it was you saying that… forgive me?
I know Tallis has a bit of a kitteny streak but the post you quoted I read as actually supportive.
I’m also just bitter about this “Convenient Reset Time Change” /grumble
From what I heard on my Server the queue times were lower meaning less people came out.
Also many Guilds didn’t see their regular Commanders on for some time.
One of the Servers in our Tier which normally has a very strong Reset did very poorly. Nobody knows if was the Reset or something else, but they do depend on their Guild groups quite a bit and that is what was really crushed in the change.
Remember that the largest complaint I (and some others) had about the change was how this impacted (i.e. basically destroyed) organized Guild Events at Reset.
People were still going to come out and fight but an important social/community activity (the only really special weekly activity for WvW-Only players) was really hit hard.
It’s why I feel Rotating Resets would have been a much better and fairer temporary solution. I’d love for EU and SEA/Oceanics to also get to experience the “rush” and excitement of a “Prime-Time” Reset – it is very exciting and the only time of the week where (at least on our Server) there is a 4-Map/Server-wide Multiple Guild coordinated strategic plan on exactly where and how we want to attack and defend.
By the time most of our top Commanders and players get home and in-game now, it is already back to the same ebb-and-flow read-and-react kind of fight that you see almost anytime in WvW.

So, now that the reset time has been changed, did WvW die on the NA servers? Or was it more or less as every other reset?
It definitely wasn’t “more or less the same” – East Coast Kiddies got in just fine while people who work for a living sat in queues or simply took the night off.
How is this even possible? oO
It’s called “hacks” – don’t post here, just send the screenshot to Exploits@Arena.net and hopefully they will at some point deal with it…
Oh one last thing before I go (wow I posted a lot this morning)…
FA is doing a charity pledge drive for the Boston bombings this coming reset week. You can find all the details here:
https://forum-en.gw2archive.eu/forum/pvp/wuvwuv/FA-Giving-Back-to-the-Community/first#post1859016
But I just wanted to bump it here and encourage everyone from all servers to participate. As much as we get caught up in it, this is still just a game and the world goes on regardless of our petty squabbles here. I for one am thankful that I get to enjoy this game and read these forums with relative comfort, knowing that not everyone is as fortunate. Cheers all =)
This is awesome Nibbles!
Great job on this!
I can’t take credit for this, just passing along the word =)
Then thanks for sharing!
This is definitely something worth passing along =)
As I have posted far too many times in other threads, the “big loser” in the Reset Change is NA. Regardless of Server.
TC might or might not have the best coverage to benefit from it, but many of our Guilds’ “Weekly Reset Events” have been completely destroyed by this. Many Commanders that won’t be able to get on. Many players that won’t bother to sit in 5-7 hour queues.
TC has been in last after Reset and in first and finished in the opposite position by the end of the week, so the change I don’t think will really impact final scores.
I just hate how they ruined one of the best and most popular weekly events in GW2 for all of NA.

You just can’t go wrong with a reference from The Last Starfighter
Rotating the Reset Times so every major region could experience “Prime Time Reset” would have been so much better as a temporary solution than what ANet has come up with.
As it is most of EU still faces a midnight or later Reset and arguably the single most popular and well-attended Guild and Server-wide event has just been decimated for all of NA.
With the screwy and inconsistent way the WvW Map Queues work it’s not like NA players can even just play the game while queued and hope to get in as it seems sometimes changing Maps or going to LA can reset your queue position.
I’m very sad and disappointed with ANet’s decision. I think it is going to have a much bigger impact on the NA Community than they expect. It is the equivalent of cancelling a very popular prime time TV show. A lot of people won’t watch the replacement show, they will just find something else to do.
I just wish that the scoreboard was a little tighter and the outcome was.. less predictable. Coverage wise; it’s pretty obvious we are looking at 4 T1 capable servers for the foreseeable future.
Sadly TC isn’t close to “T1” levels of Coverage compared to what either SoR or BG was able to field right before they moved up (and remember between the two only BG was able to beat JQ… once. T1 is scary)
There’s no reward for coming first but it sure was a fun goal to have for all 3 servers for a while there, I know a lot of our PvE players and PvX guilds really got addicted to WvW for the first time in some of those closer matchups.
It’s kinda difficult to motivate casual / new WvWers and explain that they should be enthusiastic about a guaranteed second place. To really see the upside of being an underdog they need to stick around, get involved in our community, find a good coordinated group and start wading through a sea of bodies while laughing like a bloodthirsty madman about their inventory space. Some people just won’t stick around for that. The new faces I see in WvW these days are just hardcore WvWers from other servers.
This is also sadly very true. I wish more Servers had TC’s mentality of coming out and fighting regardless of score every week as I think that more than anything has allowed us get us to where we are.
We definitely have our share of “fairweather fighters” but I think there simply are a larger percentage of “TC Casuals” who are willing to come out regardless of Score, PPT, or Outmanned which really helps carry us through our “darker” times.
People joke about us being roleplayers but having such a strong “PvX Community” means we have a lot of Guilds who just have “WvW Night” as Guild Activity that they come to regardless of score scattered throughout the week.
That would be my suggestion to any Server struggling with turnout. Try to work with your PvE/PvX Guilds to have “WvW Nights” during the week that they can coordinate with your more experienced Commanders.
We are in the process of working out how/if we can split the NA and EU resets. For now, this change is the way going forward. It’s my hope we will have an update about this soon as I’ve made it a priority.
While the communication is appreciated, I hope you appreciate the message still is not.
There have been many Community-Proposed solutions that are far better than what ANet has chosen to go with Devon. Here are a summary of some of the best I’ve seen and I hope you take these to heart before holding with the current one:
- Rotating Reset Times (6 hour or 8 hour offsets)
- Saturday 8am PST/15:00 UTC Reset
- Friday 10am PST/17:00 UTC Reset
All of these improve the situation for EU players while either allowing greater overall participation at Reset (Rotating/Saturday) or hopefully reducing massive NA queues Reset Night while allowing EU to experience “Prime Time Reset” (Rotating/Friday).
As it is, your decision is having a massive negative impact on a huge number of NA WvW and PvX Guilds. I truly hope you take that into account with whatever you decide.
