I would trade a 2 am reset for a 4 pm reset any day. Together with the fact that reset doesn’t actually happen until 20-30 minutes later, it means most of us got to play 30 minutes to an hour, if at all.

For people on the west coast, even if you don’t get to play reset immediately, there’s still the whole evening ahead of you, which none of us ever had. As you guys are saying a lot won’t make it to the start of reset, your queues shouldn’t be as long at that point either. Even if that queue lasts for 2 hours, you would get in at around 9 pm (assuming you finished dinner around 7), having more time to play on a reset day than any of us ever could.

These two hours make a lot of difference for us, please don’t get that wrong. Just by losing that 1 hour to summer time I saw the amount of people showing up in our guild for reset decrease by atleast half, to give you an example.

I’m not saying this is the best solution and that it won’t inconvenience NA players, but try to share some of the burden of it with us until they are able to seperate reset times for NA and EU.

This is a complete bullkitten argument as the amount of time it will take West Coasters to get in with queues is the same amount of time it would have taken your EU Guild to wake up at 9am and play all day Saturday.

I’m sure you are thrilled that you are going to see increased turnout for your extra hour or two of playtime. Somewhere between 75-90% of all NA Guilds just had their major weekly Guild Event destroyed by this.

It seems pretty clear most of EU has no clue about the kinds of queues NA sees on Reset all the way down to T6-7.

This isn’t as simple as “oh just delay your Guild Event for a few hours” – this change has pretty much made WvW Guild Events impossible on Reset.

A 10am Friday Reset would’ve been better than the current choice because hopefully SEA/Oceanic/EU players on NA Servers would be done/burned out by the time most NA people get home.

As it is, most of NA simply won’t get to play on Reset because of queues and frustration. It will lead to people quitting the game with no guarantee they return when Split-Reset times are finally put in. And that is really bad for ANet.

Thank the Six that we’ve finally got something to alleviate this a bit, NA dudes can quit whining for a bit plz, I respect where you’re coming from, but you can’t just start crying your eyes out when we’ve been going through worse for the entirety that that game existed ty, tell me you’d sit through 8 months of 1-2am resets and then watch some dudes with a nice peachy 7pm play time cry the first time they get something resembling a problem that you’ve had for the entire game :/ we’re more likely to be happy we’ve finally got something, you guys sitting pretty at an actual feasible time and then whining is more likely to receive skepticism and rolling of eyes than sympathy, where the hell is our sympathy?

Read Bella’s post if you want some understanding of why NA is raging. WvW is one of the few “large group/Guild” activities in the game and “Reset Night” by far the most popular event for many guilds.

This change kills that.

Did ANet need to fix Reset times for EU? Absolutely!

Is destroying the most popular/well-attended event for many Guilds in NA a good way to do it? Absolutely not!

Midnight isn’t a great time for the EU and it’s going to destroy any hopes of Guilds able to get in together in NA. Move it back another 4 Hours and EU can play in Primetime and the initial “Reset Rush” might actually thin a bit by the time NA gets home from school/off work.

Rather than Saturday, I’d prefer reset at either 22:00 UTC Thursday or even better 10am Server Friday Morning (5pm UTC Friday) – at least that way pretty much everybody gets the full weekend to play.

As it is now the EU will get 1-2 hours of “Reset Fun” at the cost of many NA Guilds being able to play together at all on Reset. With the screwy ways the queues work I fully expect posts on 5-7 hour queues on Reset in NA.

The incentive for small group play in WvW is only apparent to seasoned WvW players and runs counter to anet’s design implementations.

I really hope ANet addresses this soon. Devon said they are working on it but it impacts all of us. Even we on TC with our awesome militia and scouts struggle to get people to break off from the zerg.

i was thinking more along the good old TC/CD/FA match ups which TC won but 100k points….. what i don’t get is why after saying they love this tier and match up so much, they are trying for tier 1 which pretty much broken the mighty Blackgate after 3 weeks, including 1 win, due to it toxic nature

I don’t think most of TC is interested in “pushing for T1” – what we are interested in is not having to play 12-16 hour shifts to make up for gaping Coverage gaps.

We’ve been looking for EU/Oceanic/SEA Guilds that would be a good match for our culture for over 6 months now, and we feel both excited and fortunate that it looks like we have found some.

I and many others on TC still hope that quality, classy NA Guilds will consider Kaineng to help shore up their coverage gaps too.

We all love this tier and a large part of that is because of the three server involved. I do not believe the situation in Kaineng is all doom and gloom but there are some valid concerns bought up by a few Kaineng players, primarily the lack of NA and not having a large enough PVE population to draw players in from.

Instead of just worrying about it lets do something about it then. Lets help Kaineng recruit by bumping their thread by sharing our positive thoughts and opinions on Kaineng. I know TC got a lot of love from Kaineng and BG players alike to make our recruitment thread be very effective in recruiting individual players and small guilds. Lets do the same for them. I urge FA players to do the same.

Why exactly would KA need to recruit much less need help from the 2 servers it has repeatedly won against? Is KA pushing for T1 or something and you are tring to help? Why not just transfer to KA yourself if that is the case?

KA has been in T2 for 8 weeks now and has come out 1st 5/8 times. So far I’m not seeing a problem. Of the 3 times they did not get 1st they came in 2nd, twice to BG before they moved back to T1 and once last week to TC. FA has yet to beet KA and has only come ahead of TC once in those 8 weeks.

I don’t get it. What’s the problem? I’m all for helping if there is a need, but I’m not seeing it.

If a server is on it’s way down or up let it happen naturally and give whatever server that deserves the spot….the spot.

A Tier is best when all three Servers are competitive and active.

None of us want to be back in T3 where they can’t match our coverage, and most of us don’t want to be in the toxic waste-dump that is T1.

KN and BG both came out and supported TC in our Recruitment thread to help make T2 a better matchup because they appreciated that fact.

We on TC are simply returning the favor, partially in self-interest (to keep the Tier healthy), but I think mostly because KN earned our respect and friendship by being pretty much the most respectful and classy Server we’ve faced.

Yes (as in all of the above plus individual transfers and people returning after the Culling Patch).

FA did not get to t2 by playing ppt, they did it by having fun. You get to tier 1 by ppt and coverage, other then that there isn’t a server besides t1 servers that know the ppt game and coverage game.

As a player from TC… I would say I bet Kaineng would beg to differ.

As a player from FA I can’t talk for anyone else but me, not sure why you think you can. Being on BG when kaineng made it to tier 2, they are completely different server. more laid back and playing the game for fun. Not being worried about having to cover extra time slots, or what the ppt is a particular tick. I believe Kaineng could make it to tier 1 if they wanted to, but instead are sitting pretty and having a blast just playing.

They play a very strong PPT game overall with well thought out strategies for how they approach both the whole week and the current score.

Yes many of them are having fun in T2, but anybody who studies the overall PPT/Meta can see the effort KN puts into it.

You can deny it all you want, but KN plays for points just as much as TC does and it shows in their overall performance.

Why was WXP implemented as a character bound grind that fails to reward very important meta-game tasks within WvW, only reinforces the allmighty zerg and further punishes (like the FotM progression) people that play several alts?

Culling is -not- removed. There is a universal limit on all servers of 300 I believe, in addition whether it is server side or client side if there is still a phase in and out you can call it what you wish but it is still -culling-.

There is (in every game in existence) a “Max Render Distance” for how far away objects (including character models) are graphically displayed. They never said they were removing that.

What they did do is change how the Server updates Clients with nearby player/object information. Before that information was “throttled” Server-side, ie “Culled” and it no longer is.

So yes, Culling IS removed but also yes Client Side Graphical Rendering delays will still exist.

Culling is removed (It’s a Server Side Issue).

Graphical Rendering Delays are better with the changes if you lower the settings but still exist, especially for lower-end machines.

Discussion seems cordial this week, thankfully. However, I can’t help but feel that FA has been underperforming as of late. Sunday was particularly disappointing.

I think “Underperforming” is a bit too strong a term. All Servers still have a chance to win it this week, and after the awesome push FA made last week I wouldn’t be surprised if they are “recharging their batteries” so far this week, but those that have come out have fought with all the determination FA consistently brings.

This happens to all Servers, TC was a bit worn out last week, and KN had some off-weeks when fighting BG. I’m just thankful to be part of a matchup featuring 3 relatively evenly-matched Servers with so many fun and awesome fights.

As someone from TC, I have full confidence that FA is here to stay and will continue to fight hard day in and day out.

This sounds like the perfect kind of thing to schedule for late Thursday/early Friday just before Reset.

Coordinate with the current owner to get the Gate down and a Group Stealth Train or Portal to the Vista and then [GODS] vacates the property.

With the way Tiers are stagnating we are all going to need to work on creative ideas like this going forward to help each other out.

WvW is very strong in NA. We have people out there during NA daytime/EU Primetime but no Large Guilds dedicated to that time period.

PvE (Events, World Bosses, etc) are populated pretty much 24/7. You can’t find a healthier Server in PvE in NA.
