wouldnt mind some racial ones, although they dont have to be race restrictive.

norn – some kind of head statues of the four spirits, an example is the shoulders from the t2 medium has a cool lookin bear on it
asuran – gadget-like things like a rotating rubik cube, a mini alchemy set or some sort of thing that flashes lights and changes shape.. you know gadgety
sylvari – dunno really, something with flowers? lol. whatever it is should have a sylvari like glow to it, maybe one that copies the players own glow colour/intensity.
human – all the normal ones kinda alrdy fit them, maybe something to do with the 6 gods maybe something iconic that represents them.
charr – a giant iron legion cog, and the other symbols from the other two legions. the shoulder from t3 heavy has a nice look on it, something like that breathes fire.

yeh i know some of these maybe sound a little extravagant for a back peice but w/e.

alternative to grinding dungons

its about what 20 or so dungeon runs for the whole armor set? do each path once per day for a week and your done. i don’t see the grind? rift has (or had its been a while) massive dungeon grinds where you need at least 20-30 dungeon runs to buy one piece if your not doing the current raid content. wow used to be something similar but they’ve changed it a few times over the years. if this was for a harder dungeon i could understand, but for AC… 2 hrs max a day for all 3 runs including breaks/deaths/running back from WP

other then that i kinda like the idea, but i dont see it ever being implemented.

hey lets all screenshot dragon events and claim our servers are busy! they are a true representation of server activity… besides these events the occasional orr zerg and wvw, most the other zones are nearly empty every time i look on an alt, large meta events are completed by 3-4 ppl and champions completely ignored, free to roam the countryside.

based on the way they handle previous updates. the only options that seem available to them is to offer vague information because for some reason they all have guns to their heads and often cannot be specific, say something like “its coming” and “next patch” OR my least favourite wait till the update is released then tell everyone. they seem to continue their bad habit since release of not telling players anything at all or offering snippets to get their hopes up then go back to being quiet.

its one of the few small things about wow i miss, having PTS around meant being informed about upcoming changes and actually seeing them in action. instead of being left in the dark and/or dissapointed that xyz wasnt fixed or addressed at all.

yup bitterly dissapointed gw2 approves to be another anti-melee game. yes there will be a bunch of ppl who will go on about l2p and dodge etc but the truth is it’s almost ALWAYS easier/safer (especially in 5-10 min boss battles) to go ranged. somebody start listing a bunch of boss fights or anything really where melee have the advantage, i guarantee it won’t be that many. seriously would it rly hurt to have bosses that i dunno, dont always mash your face in melee but have rly annoying ranged attacks that need to be avoided. now you will prolly say well if melee is always safe on this fight then why go ranged at all, i dunno i dont design boss battles but a simple solution would be, w/o at least 1-2 person ranged maybe the boss adjusts his abilities and starts mashin on the melee.

i think the only game that has ever come close has been wow sadly, and yes it had its fair share of anti-melee fights but had a number of anti-ranged ones i can recall to make up for it. althought i spose comparing large number raids to 5 man dungeons isnt right but im also including world event bosses like the risen priest of balthazar and a number of other dynamic event bosses.

at this point it could be anything. i know for sure though you will not see it this year, it will take them months to design, build then test before implementing it into the game.. i just don’t see how they plan to make this work, no matter what it ends up being, if its less time consuming and less costly then the mystic forge method, than everyone will do it. The only way to counter that would be to implement some sort of roadblock or way to slow people down like umh.. slay 50 dragon bosses maybe not that simple but my point was, its something that takes time and you cant exactly speed it up. so you would than have 2 choices, mystic casino or long drawn out “lore related hunt” method.

at the end of the day i’m sure they will come up with something that works but this is just for the precursor, getting the rest of the mats is still no different and just a terribly boring mat grind and/or gold sink. the devs also aren’t the greatest givers of info, usually its after the fact once its been added/changed THEN they tell you.

the simple problem is that none of those smaller events give a reward worth the effort, theres nothing stopping you from ignoring it and carry on with what your rly want to do so thats what people do. then you have the BIG events at all the temples, the dragons give more loot then them, simple proof is jormag i always see 30-50 people showup for him, and bugger all showup for the temple events and to top it off the dragons require WAY less effort.

once ‘most’ people had their fill of checking out all the zones, it came down to the simple process of “what is the most rewarding and/or quickest way for me to get xyz” xyz being short for karma/gold and lesser extent xp. irony is this is total grinding ankittenep reading how Anet hates grinding but implements it all across their game…odd. now you have what is happening on nearly every server.. bad enough every temple is almost contested 24/7 but half the waypoints along the way in every zone.

so when Anet figures out how to encourage people to actually do all the different events and tweak the effort/reward ratio correctly for once, things will start to improve. I’m also gettin tired of seeing all the “champ” events clearly ignored. chances are they will never get the drops right for those heavy hitters, if its too rewarding everyone will do them until they nerf it, and if it’s not rewarding enough nobody will do them and you end up where we are now.

he has his own business to sell his own music, he does it terribly, apparently ignores basic customer service rules and you make excuses for him? bravo. no one else that posted seemed to mention any knowledge of a “10 week waiting” period, and when asked “how long?” customer was ignored. remember when one guy did contact them and they ignored him? how do you think they will respond to “you sent me the wrong thing?” probably the same way they did before, ignoring it.

he did the right thing and got his money back from paypal. customers don’t want excuses, they want what they pay for and if you can’t deliver that, then you shouldn’t be in business.

fair? they can change anything at anytime and it doesnt have to be fair. remember when a dungeon run was giving 30 tokens if you finished, and now you get 60, fair? at least t6 mats are farmable, even lodestones to a lesser point but farming silver doubloons? exactly how?… there is another thread suggesting to allow transmogrify copper doubloons the same way silver can be used to make gold, but who knows what and if they will do anything.

why is the armor bought with money in the first place? and weapons with karma hmm… considering tier 2 weapons for asuran/sylvari are STILL either bugged or incomplete, that is sylvari vendor is selling asuran weapons which are easy to obtain, and asuran is selling sylvari stuff easily obtainable nothing unique about either of these, i don’t see them changing any culture based stuff any time soon price-wise or anything else or its just rly rly low on their to-do list.

i still think the scavs knockdown is a bit op considering its a channeled attack, not just a one off especially on that one path with the champ scav that thing will mow down a player, none of the other trash is that troublesome. btw whats wrong with breeders? just need 1 person with a stun/daze/knockdown and interrupt their obvious “summon” ability.

well looks like all we can do is play the waiting game…aww waiting game sucks lets play hungry hungry hippos! seriously though, it feels like someone either dropped the ball and didn’t add all the conversion recipes or added just the one by accident. wouldn’t even know where to start gettin silver doubloons or the other higher ones.

second that notion, at least give us a way to transmogrify copper → silver and gold → platinum if you can already do silver → gold. making copper doubloons via something similar mentioned above wouldn’t hurt either, not to mention give a decent sink for copper ore, which lets face it is heavily saturated. wouldn’t hurt to give the related dust mats another sink too.

are you unable to promote someone to the guild leader rank? becos i have 4 people in my guild with the same “highest” rank don’t see why this doesn’t work for you. i also have a feeling leaving guild auto-promotes someone from the next highest rank.

haven’t the devs learnt anything from any other games that have had BIG events in small localised areas especially in the capital areas where player trade/afk/talkcrap. was laggy, unplayable, not fun and no supercomputer or super connection to internet in the world would of had that event run smoothly.

i thought it was because supply is used 2 at a time? since sieges use round numbers from memory, walls and doors that get damaged can leave you at an odd number. dunno why supply can’t be used 1 at a time though just use it twice as fast as it is now. that using 10 thing when you have 15 is a bit annoying too but a minor thing

why would anyone transfer to another server there currently up against in WvW except to ride the wave and enjoy the bonuses or do something dodgy, logically shouldnt Anet block people from transferring to servers there matched up against? at least until guesting is implemented for that odd situation with friends on matched servers.

If i wanted to butt my head against content for hours and hours after spending more hours rushing to level cap I’d play one of the various other games that offer this. I thought this game would be different, it certainly gave me that impression especially after reading that article on endgame. I was lookin forward to dungeons because thats one of the few activities guildies can do together that usually dont require too much skill at least when levelling up. I am just so dissapointed in how they have turned out and I’m only talking about the first few, i dont want to even see what the rest are like.

here are some excerpts from their own website; (i realise this is mostly marketing talk)
The risks are immense but the rewards are great for those who brave the hazards of the dungeons of Tyria. translation - you will die alot and waypoint zerg many times and not get enough money from the dungeon to cover repair bills.

During your first visit to a dungeon, you’ll experience story mode, which focuses on the ongoing saga of the iconic members of the legendary band of adventurers, Destiny’s Edge. translation - you will see Rytlock run ahead and agro mobs, die alot and meet up with Eir who much like Rytlock barely helps you kill anything, some heroes they turned out to be slain by a few ghosts…

There are tremendous risks for those who brave the dungeons in Guild Wars 2, but the rewards are great—each dungeon has its own unique armors and weapons that can’t be found anywhere else. translation - You will have to run these dungeons 40-50 times to get a complete set of this awesome looking stuff and you will be severely in debt from the repair bills possibly forcing you to buy gems with $$$ to convert into game currency to cover the cost. (i admit a small exaggeration on that last bit.)

I don’t want to take anything away from people who find these dungeons challenging, or gasp too easy but im kinda guessing much like any other MMO they are the minority. Blizzard realised this mistake after Vanilla and BC that they were making all this great content but hardly anyone was seeing it, and considering the majority of players of any game are “casual” why would anyone design any part of there game to scare them off.

I am just so dissapointed because I feel anything but an organised group of experience mmo’rs will just falter and leave group within the first 10-15 mins. That’s your player base right there, people who dont have hours and hours every week, they dont want to always play to be the best, they want to enjoy themselves not constantly die over and over for almost no reward just to see a small portion of the game.

reading your post made me feel better. I was shocked at my first attempt in AC story mode, i was walking in expecting plenty of normal mobs with some veterans thrown in for good measure maybe a champ or two. what i got was rooms and rooms of 2-3 elite mobs with seemingly spammable abilities/crowd control or autoattacks that hit me from anywhere from 1/4 to 1/2 my health. going from 100% to downed or sometimes even death only took seconds if they focused on me or a party member. I just didnt get it, this is the first dungeon anyone will experience and i fully expect MOST people to have a similar experience, considering my group was a guild run with voicechat, id hate to see how pugs go. now before anyone goes on about using the “right” skills/weapon choice/utility abilities etc at level 30-35 (i wont even go into the CM explorer i did at 46) you dont exactly have as many options plus i doubt many of them are going to counter any mobs ability to kill you in 4-5 hits.

It doesnt look like the dungeons here even on story mode (CM got a buff recently, sigh) ease people into the game at all.. how the hell are complete newbies to the game going to feel when they deal with this horrid stuff. they dont even give you a chance right off the bat just throwing mobs with 10x your hp that can kill you in a few seconds, now i just know to stay away complete sadly.
