clearly what this path needs is MORE inquest to rally off.
no one said it was fun, alot of things in these games are not fun. Is collecting 250 of anything fun? no. my point was people were so hopeful that the devs would come to their rescue when the reality is, the undertaking of what is needed to accomplish what people want is on par with “new endings for mass effect 3” its several months of worth and requires a real ‘team’ of people to complete it, not 2-3 guys who dabble on it during offnights. that plus the devs have a terrible knack of stating things only to be picked apart for “exactly” what they really meant to say much later to most peoples dissapointment.
so like i said before, either be prepared to throw your gold away, or continue waiting.
called it! not to sound mean spirited but it kinda made me laugh to hear that there will be a much longer wait for this “scavenger hunt” when soooooo many ppl are just itching to get there precursor and refuse to use the mystic casino. now they can get in line with the rest of us and prepare to throw their gold away or wait even longer or just focus on some other part of the game.
alot of angry guardians lookin at that pic out there
what mob/boss is that? looks like a minotaur with branded crystals, but its not branded.
what swiftpaw basically said, if your gonna deal with pugs make sure you enter first. not sure why the “instance system” here is alot more frustrating to deal with than other games but basically thats all the “good” advice anyone can really give.
the colours refer to the amount of xp you will get from crafing those items. orange will give you the most, decreases as the colours change towards light blue which will give you the least, grey means no xp gained.
have you tried using the discovery tab? btw if you googled Exquisite Passion Flower the first return should of been http://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/Exquisite_Passion_Flower which shows you whats needed to craft it.
after checking my mesmer it doesnt seem the dagger phantasm is using a mist type weapon, it looks very grey and steelish, simple too maybe even the default dagger skin.
the dynamic events, that is the ones that show up in orange text in the top right of your screen.
don’t need a source, i received ghost slayer achievment from killing a graveling in AC. based on other posts i’ve read in the past it seems safe to assume the appropriate slaying potion (based on what the dungeon vendor sells) works for every mob in the related dungeon, inquest slaying for CoE etc
without someone testing it, guess you can’t be 100%.
at some point in the future mostly likely they will add a similar system to other games(i hope so anyway) where you can sell things back to a vendor recently bought for w/e you used to buy it. although they’d only rly need to do it with dungeon vendors preferably it wouldnt hurt to have this with most stuff tho.
till then every situation like this will end the same, bought wrong item, sorry we cannot help etc.
https://www.guildwars2.com/en/news/3-day-new-years-sale-in-the-gem-store-new-items-each-day/
“During each day of the sale, we’ll feature three different items on sale at drastically reduced prices! All sales begin at 12 AM Pacific and last for 24 hours.”
tbh tho i do agree with you, sales are infrequent and mostly dissapointing so it can be annoying to have a busy life and missout. plus “The cuts are so deep you’ll swear I took a greatsword to the prices!” is now and will forever be mocked whenever they discount anything on the TP cos yeh the %’s were low enough to make microsofts efforts on xbox live look impressive.
this game is cape free, all superheroes please go back to DCUO. seriously though what was said above is pretty much correct there are VERY few back peices with an actual graphic, which is a bit dissapointing then again armor already clips enough.
filling a buy order doesn’t involve “listing” anything. if fulfilling someones buy order only had the 10% sales tax and excluded the 5% listing fee for NOT listing anything, it would be more enticing for people to do so.
maybe if they change it from listing fee to “the fee you pay because your forced to use our BLTP since we wont let you safely trade between players” but just abbreviate it of course
is it that wow/rift etc have auction houses per server and this game has a global one the fact that manipulation is more prevalent?
best thing to do is make sure you enter the dungeon first in future. otherwise yeh.. its pretty lame this is still possible this long after release.
give them a reason to kill things along the way then there will less reason to skip.
As for adding some randomness to the dungeon, i guess a simple workaround would be something along the lines of the troll event in AC. It’s random, there is more than 1 spawn location, using that as an example so when the party enters a dungeon it goes through all the possible mob spawns and randomises mob type and location somewhat. dunno if it’s as simple as that to code w/o rebuilding the way dungeons work from scratch but its what i was thinking after reading this post which by the way was well written and i hope some changes are something like what i read above.
i agree there are way too many kitten mystic toilet recipes and barely anything cool the crafters can make. what they did by adding those jewelry recipes isnt a bad idea although they seem pretty rare, they should do the same with weapons/armor wether in dungeons or some other place just stop using the kitten toilet as your 1 stop shop for combining “expensive crap into cool lookin stuff”.
seems to be ALOT more doubloons on the market now closer to 3k compared to the “not enough to make juggernaught” amount they were some weeks ago but the price isnt actually going down, seems to going up then down then up again.
yeh other games make up for this by having “humanoid” mobs always drop cloth mats and “animal” type mobs drop leather or stuff that salvs/combines into leather. bit annoying here the way its done.
dont think karma bought items can be used in the mystic toilet?
so which bosses are done “right” and which are not? most seem to be “move out of red circle” types with alot of hp.
when you say raids everyone assumes gear grind, killing same boss every week, raid lockouts, random loot drops that annoy people. so if gw2 adds raids and decides not to copy wow/rift/swtor etc.. how would it be different and why would ppl do it besides gettin together more than 5 guildies to do something together?
they will look at it at some point… so between now and 2014.
personal story rewards are fairly meh till the end you get some gemstore items but are still pretty underwhelming, even the pact weapon you can choose, sure they look mostly cool but they arent even exotic.. you save the world here’s a rare weapon of your choice.
as for map completion, its a bit bleh at times you mostly get stuff you cant use so its for an alt or glob fodder. sometimes tho its a bit frustrating to get like in my case 20 lemongrass and 2x of the same exotic boots that were only worth 60s from completing cursed shore.. was just a complete wtf moment… then on a different character complete mount maelstrom and get a scepter with a sigil worth 4g. rng is fun!.. not
they were meant to be epic zones were players all struggled together to push the pact npcs towards their goals and reclaim the temples/arah etc etc. they are mostly boring and unrewarding tho, besides the few chains ppl repeat at nauseam for money.
wouldn’t be a bad idea for alot of rich nodes, having dynamic events as trigger and rewarding players with a node spawning or a passage opening with said node inside. although that would mean those nodes were in static locations but meh. i jus hate the karka tho, they can remove em all for all i care starting with that champion.
Much anger in him… like his father.
true, i dont really believe they will go above 50s however as far the pebbles/nuggets etc is concerned, the prices of most of those are rising quite a bit, so much like ecto price is reliant on cheapest rare price at some point the cost of using the mystic toilet for these wont be worth it.
more stuff that involves things. who doesnt like stuff that involves things?
items that share skins with karma vendors like cultural or from orr temples are not sell-able and always account bound for that reason.
the “kamikaze buyout” this sneaky individual decides to buyout every single one of a particular non-important item until there are none left. this happened to lemongrass last night and potato’s the night before, does he know something we don’t? are these items and possibly others the the next ‘charged lodestones’ to soon hit the market. how can we combat such individuals? will it ever stop, will he take our precious wood and ore next? only time will tell.. only time will tell.
made my day as well
pretty sure you could use transmuting to “transfer” it from 1 character to another.
either way it does NOT sound like the fact the runes are character bound is to deter ppl from using the same character in dungeons always, thats just plain stupid. the more obvious answer is the fact they are soulbound when you get them in chests is exactly why they are soulbound from dungeon vendors, its the same item and they can not be bothered to change/fix or modify it to be more convenient for the player ie; make it account bound wether u buy it or get it as a drop. its bad enough u get these soulbound runes from mystic toilet when hoping to get something “better” to sell to the tp.
pretty sure combat log keeps track of any items you pickup including from using mystic toilet or salvaging stuff either way its too late now.
maybe the doubloons need another use as well? to make this addition of the recipe more valid. price continues to go up meanwhile.
they easily cost more then ecto’s now, and most of the cores too. let’s see if the price can be pushed above 1g (above a few of the lodestones) and keep going till its the “most expensive mat” more then charged lodestone! then maybe someone will notice.
maybe fix the dungeons first before adding more “harder” and likely bugged encounters filled with red circles you must avoid! in wow/rift typically a “hard mode” boss learns 1-2 new tricks that steps it up, but i don’t see gw2 being able to add this kind of variety to bosses since alot of stuff is “dont stand in the red circles”
the problem is, if your in a pug, most the time the others either dont care or dont listen and at the first sign of struggle, will leave and find another grp hoping to be carried. your advice is sound, but is pretty much only valid for guild grps trying to build that guild bond with newer people.
sounds like this belongs in the player helping player section anyway.
whats the bet the “fix” will break something else.
the length of the first 2 posts is exactly why people dont make money from crafting. its soooooo much time and effort that for ‘most’ people and by most i mean the real majority of mmo’s typical mums, dads, fulltime workers/students etc etc its not worth it. most people dont want to look at different items, investigate trends, fiddle with the filters, check the trade sites.
the simple issue is crafting makes too many items to level up, meanwhile the world constantly throws crap at you that nobody wants for more then 4-5 levels at most. there a few niche markets due to lazyness or sudden supply changes most the time and thats it.
but i enjoy playing great sword 2… actually i think a bigger problem is there are ALOT of bad skins that nobody bothers with regardless of weapon
any reason to assume this is actually obtainable and/or craftable? its so ugly tho :|
like most games, the crafting here is just terribly designed. its not fun, its not innovative, the discovery tab is a complete sham (the mystic forge is where people actually discover recipes), except for cooking where there is a ridiculous combination of stuff to “discover” the problem being, 95% of food is worthless as in sold for next to nothing, and like other crafts your better off selling the mats instead.
if it wasnt for the xp gain most people would ignore it.
i tapped about 100 passiflora and only got the fruit. the other day i tapped 4 near eachother and got 2 of the flowers… considering these are on par with orbs, i dont see why its easier for me to just tap a ori node and randomly get an orb but i gotta break my back to get these passion flowers while karka/reef riders etc all annoy the kitten out of me with their high hp and annoying abilities.

seems we need more threads on raids. cos remember before release when people asked Anet well if your not gonna have raids for endgame what will you have instead? their answer was nothing! no raids and no substitute for raids. welcome to guild wars 2.
how about ninja wizards or bears that shoot laser beams out of their eyes
lotro had farming the way he describes… it was how u made pipeweed, so u could blow all different types of smoke symbols and just stand around looking cool with your pipe. you’d buy seeds and plant/water them etc, try to mix different varieties to get different kinds of plants.
