where is the prestige in having a “rare” skin when the only way to obtain it is gamble?
a crate costs 150 gem, whats wrong with selling a scelerite token for 600 gems? that way you have a choice, you can “gamble” (which seems to be poison of choice) or go with the “safe bet” and pay more. would of been happy to buy fused tokens with gems (with real money) if i was given that choice. instead i am given shirts, and more shirts… and reused skins from november.
the reason they are no longer next to impossible to obtain is because some smart cookies discovered you could get doubloons from the mystic forge using cheap low tier gems. they spread this information around and now there have been several thousand doubloons on the market for the last several months. it goes up as much as it goes down, maybe there are several people with stockpiles just drip-feeding them into the market, or maybe several people are really trying for the juggernaut and don’t wanna wait around for the price to change more favourably.
tbh the difference between buying 250 of em at 30s and 40s only comes out to 25g which is what between 1-2% of the total cost of the hammer legendary? doesn’t seem worth focusing on this one small part. look at molten lodestones ive seen them as low as 56-57s and as high as 90s in the last 2 months, prices can change so much.
according to reddit they are still dropping during the epilogue period, after that guess we will have to wait and see.
probably would be the easiest option to implement, a few new mystic forge recipes and voila away we go, i guess we wait and see.
some interesting thoughts, i had considered legendary armour but considering how often new armor skins come out.. i doubt theres even a design concept for these yet. not sure if there is room for another “craft discipline” but to balance things it out it would also have to use leather/silk and my only idea is basically something that would either compete with gems or go into its own upgrade slot which would mean overhaul every armour piece to accept a new slot, kinda seems like alot of work to implement.
i do kind of like the gamble bag idea a little especially considering they did it before, with butter/chocolate and a few other excess stuff and although people were like well it will go back to being worthless when they remove the mystic recipe, over time it did eventually iron out in my opinion, plus they obviously fine tuned the drop rate too. if they do something similar, and tweak the drops of silk/leather from the loot bags to make them alot less frequent, leaving the main source to be salvaging whites etc it might work out over time?
i do kind of like the downgrading idea too, i could see that working over time even if initially people rushed to “cash in” and even if it lowered the other tiers of cloth/leather significantly that would still work favourably as people would be more likely to use tailoring to ‘powerlevel’ until the prices eventually leveled out again.
Aye your first idea was.. interesting to say the least but the second idea i would like to see sometime in the future as you say to incentivize high level crafting further but i doubt it would have much use as a “sink” plus town clothes aren’t as popular as armor :\
i just don’t see the point in moving the entrance if everything else remains the same. if they changed it a bit or something i can understand but it makes no sense at all.
does the fact that there appears to be millions of this stuff on the BLTC for vendor+1 suggest that maybe these materials need some kind of sink? mithril and elder log prices have fluctuated constantly since release for whatever minor reasons however my gut feeling is that people wanting precursors is the major reason these two materials will always have a demand.
some things to consider;
- making scraps into silk bolts sells for a loss
- the same method for leather results in a loss
- upgrading either into the T6 version results in a loss
- salvaging whites in hope of getting the T6 version may result in win? (silk only)
- i do realise the majority of people have 80s acquiring this stuff and this is where i point at mithril ore/elder logs
by loss i mean it would of better to sell/vendor and just buy the other material.
Is this even a thing that people think is a problem needing a solution?
got excited.. then dissapointed. i don’t blame the OP, its Anet’s fault we are down this path in dealing with inactives etc.
what is with this ridiculous system where i send two ingame mail messages then I’m suddenly suppressed from any further mail for a min or two, to my own guild. I recently had a member try to send multiple informative mails to members within the guild, and consistently got suppressed multiple times until he received what sounded like an automated e-mail describing ToS and EULA etc and how he was possibly breaking those agreements, something along those lines.
how about you add a function or a permission or something that allows me and my own guildies to mail each-other without being treated like possible gold sellers and trolling mail spammers.
still going on, no wonder its barely open on any servers.
this has came up ever since they changed the risen nobles over a month ago and not a single thing has been done at all.
makes too much sense.. wish the devs thought of it, or if they did already… decided to implement it.
no there isnt.
never understood it myself since you need to earn enough “bonus” influence to cover the cost of building the kitten thing in the first place, i guess bigger guilds make the most of those without trying whereas smaller guilds would have to plan ahead or just not use them at all.
this is just like what happened during halloween. why can’t anet simply let people BUY the skins on their own at i dunno 500-1000 gems that way people can feel lucky if they buy 5-10 keys and get one from their chests or just say screw it and pay for the one they actually want.
considering they cost 300 influence and 3 days to build, they basically net you 1800 influence every 3 days (if you build nothing else anyway). how this helps small guilds not really sure since 3 days is a long time to clog the build queue up.
the list of changes.. wow so overwhelmed… words cannot describe the feelings that i have /end pointless sarcasm.
kind of expected this since there was no dungeon info mentioned for the last month and this patch was constantly pegged as a WvW/PvP patch. maybe discuss how theres no change to fractal rewards (besides rings) don’t really match the difficulty/time involved at 20+ or what dungeon we would like changed next..dunno
30 people doing 6 bounties in 15 mins w/o pre-scouting kinda sounds.. unlikely or only possible through sheer dumbluck. considering that gives you 2.5 mins to find and kill each bounty on average if you zerg it or 15 mins for 5 ppl to find and kill their assigned one (can be especially painfully for certain bosses), wether you split up into 6 groups or zerg each one down one by one that just doesnt sound likely to succeed too often. you have to factor in waypointing, loading screens, splitting up and communicating all this to the relevant people. im going to assume they had no material to help like dulfy maps so… yeah don’t know what to think really.
i didn’t read any of it, but basically all you need to know is dont PUG. if you PUG you open yourself to all kinds of crap.
will never happen
i feel that its a waste of time and run past them
it scales to your character level i believe and is based on a fixed percentage. gold gives roughly 5% of your level, silver and bronze slightly less. wiki prolly has exact numbers.

(edited by Rainzar.6905)
the golem clearly does have a pre-event.. the part where you have 15 mins to activate and defend the barrels, stuff that and no golem.
how bout i dunno, using that silly medal system to determine reward as well.. why does the guy who gets 10 hits on tequatl get the same rewards as the gun who feverishly defended the turrets and hylek (although pointless) and was attacking the dragon from start to finish.
long chains are just more likely to fail and cause people to ignore the event completely.
oh you meant stuck…
the solution is simple, better programming.
i will not chill.
they need to learn what most other games have already learned… long cooldowns suck! shorten whatever the skill does and in turn shorten its cooldown.
will never happen
still surprised they nerf every other single possible method of obtaining gold yet this remains untouched.
no way anyone is finishing any coe path in 10 mins even skipping every single trash pull.
i doubt they will increase dust drop rates.
the problem was you did a dungeon run with a pug.
Its this and that’s the truth and that’s final! Now stop complaining shut up and play the game as usual please or go play another game! Its getting tiring!
complaining about people complaining… irony.
its a forum why else are people here?! to complain, the end.
more loot = good, less loot = typical anet nerf.
some of those are kitten expensive, and some not so much but alot of those on the list just look like crud and the ones that don’t have crazy requirements of gift of light or 250 ecto’s o 250 of something else not as expensive but definitely not cheap.
Have you? The “big” chest he mentioned, the one that contains the guaranteed rare, will be lootable once per account. The normal chests will be lootable per character then.
One rare is not that “big”, normal chest can give you much more, including a precursor. I might missed the point where you decided to dub small icon-ish chest with a rare as “big” (why on earth?… ) It should have been obvious from my post I am talking about BIG freaking chest that appears on the ground after the thing is dead. The one that used to give trash blues until the recent update, and now going to give trash blues again, apparently. So instead of overall better drop from a chest, with a guaranteed rare and better chance at more rares and exotics, you now going to get a guaranteed rare and trash blues from main on-ground chest.
Corrections?Correction:
They already said they are only moving the one “garunteed rare” to the “daily chest”. Not the other 1-2 more rares people were getting. So it’s 1 rare per event from “daily chest”, then 0-2 more rares and other stuff from the standard chest at the end of the event.Currently it’s 1-3 rares plus possible exotic(s) and lower grades, per char per event per day. It’s becoming 0-2 rares plus possible exotic(s) and lower grades, per char per event per day PLUS 1 rare or better for the first char. People are only losing out on 1 rare per alt.
so it’s still possible to get nothing but blues/greens once you’ve done an event for your “freebie rare” which pretty much encourages people to do things once then forget about it till tomorrow.
isnt this change even harsher then expected? you could get 1-3 rares (maybe 4?) from the chest and now its just one no matter what (or an exotic blah blah). the bigger problem is the fact that ALOT of ppl dont even contribute to the events or pre-events leading up to it, they just stand around at the end waiting to hit the boss 10-20 times and get their bronze for the chest.
knew this would too good to last
an ever changing series of jumping puzzles? sounds like that cube movie. would be cool, sounds technically impossible tho.
so a guild has a policy that goes against one of the game features? meh. sounds like you need a guild with better rules, considering your changing guilds to do something that you cant do normally in the current guild there is no benefit in you repping them in the first place anyway.
i think he wants some way to either not show or skip cutscenes in dungeons. i fully agree however i’m going to guess there is some technical limitation that makes this impossible or not possible soon but maybe later.
thats the idea of the discovery tab, if there are no more new items that can be found with that material it will no longer showup. the only problem with this is cooking needs several inbetween crafted mats which don’t have a place in the collectible tab.
Guild Trek mission as that mission doesn’t award commendations.
that’s dissapointing
• Deep Cave should be a separate permission from Treasure Trove. This would allow more Guild uses and rank individuality.
for the love of balthazar why hasn’t this been added?
/nods at most other suggestions as well
pretty sure in the last interview it was mentioned nothing was being worked on or planned with the Guild UI atm.
Wrong, the live stream last night (CET time) was a very different story.
Infact they stated that they will be working on the Guild UI for a bit before relocating staff to PvE content.
they say alot of things, so i will believe it when i see it until then its coming soon™
pretty sure in the last interview it was mentioned nothing was being worked on or planned with the Guild UI atm.
got 4 rings from 5 dailies then nothing 3x in a row then 2 from 3.
all of the above choices.
don’t know why smaller guilds just dont join other smaller guilds? 5-10 friends joining another 5-10 friends isnt a total catastrophe. maybe you make more “friends”? but i guess they prefer to just keep it within their own little circle, fair enuf.
a new feature turns out to have a game breaking bug within the first day – sunrise, sunset.
100s of dollars.. what the hell, you people are just nuts.
bleh what the hell why ecto’s? always with the ecto’s its like some weird fascination. at least its not 250 for once.
this reminds of that guild thread where guilds just list willy nilly.. i dont expect anyone to read that unorganised ridiculous long list to find any guild ingame. i doubt they would for “alliances” either. :|
when did any mmo let you do EVERYTHING in the game with only one or two people?
why not make friends or join a guild or something, don’t understand why anybody plays these games but keeps to themselves, married/time-restricted or whatever other excuses they give.
on the flipside i hear swtor is great for duo’ing through the game until level cap.
