TC has cleared their names and congratulations on the cap though we prob have it back by now. Btw I was there when it occurred so… Yeh.

Dont mean to dig this up but there’s a difference between being falsely accused and having names cleared.

None of this would have happened if people would take the time to ask around their own servermates, or maybe messaging opposing players in an attempt to clear the air before blindly hurling accusations.

Which makes it an zoom-exploit instead of a zoom-hack. Even if it is possible without modification of the engine, I can hardly believe that ANet want people with larger/more screen to have such an advantage over the rest.

Therefore I think: I should be fixed.

ANET should just chime in on the issue and settle it once and for all.

Those in position to use the increased FOV will loathe having it deemed an exploit and defend it as as intended since there has been no feedback from ANET.

Imagine how inefficient zergs would be if camps were worth the same ppt as towers and keeps, or if yaks were worth 20ppt per kill or escort.

Players would then spread out naturally, while zerging would still be possible, powerful and depending on the situation – effective; a server would as a whole, prioritize spreading across the map in smaller teams rather than concentrating on certain points.

To prevent towers and keeps from becoming worthless, they could modified to provide buffs/debuffs in an area, im sure there are many creative and map consistent mechanisms that can be applied to towers and keeps to keep them valuable for map control without having ppt concentrated on those points.

Well im sure gem sales are up to buy said carts :P

Turning EVERY fight into Ac wars is possibly the fastest way to turn it into TREB wars 2.

I’m one of the GMs of CO, and honestly the trolling doesn’t really bother me that much. I’ve played WvW for months and I’ve seen a ton of it in game and match threads alike. There was indeed some trash talking in LA, but I probably wouldn’t have even mentioned it had I been the only person in the guild to read it.

I can’t speak for everyone, but for my part I want out because there is no cohesion or strategic execution. I often have to command when I don’t want to, for longer hours than I would otherwise like because no one else will tag up or because our only other NA guild on in force is busy fighting on another map. It’s also discouraging to know that literally everything we capture as a guild will be gone within 30 minutes of us logging out. The coverage just isn’t good enough to hold territory anymore; weeks of losing our entire home BL every day is starting to take its toll. We can only mount sporadic offensives on FA or (rarely) TC BL anymore. EB is still fun, I guess, but we want more options and a less stressful role in server strategy.

There is a reason a lot of us opt out of putting to much effort on the importance of PPT, this is a major one of them. I think T3 would meet your needs and suggest you try it for a week before making a move off of KN (assuming KN does go down this week).

Playing for PPT, in my opinion, is for those who have not yet been in T1. I know not all of FA originally started on HOD with TA, but may like myself did and we know all to well how ugly and ultimately boring (for all sides) the game gets when you focus solely on Meta. I realize FA’s casual approach to the meta game annoys TC to no end but please realize that many of us don’t care for the mega zergs and long queues which are the necessary evil of getting to and “winning” T1 for a week.

So instead we just focus on good fights and having fun. I’m not meaning anything derogatory toward TC for focusing on the PPT aspect of the game, it is certainly your prerogative to do so. Stacking your server to avoid any coverage gaps is the key to advancing the meta game as everyone already knows and it will give you the best chance of advancing to T1. I wish TC luck in their quest for tier 1, but please stop the rhetoric on how FA “should be” playing the game. Many of us have either already been through that or already understand the toxic nature of that mentality. After all, this is just a game, have some fun.

I started a thread on the FA forums to discuss this very thing. The conclusion we came to is that FA cares about PPT to the extent that it does not interfere with having fun. Yes there are some who use it as a crutch unfortunately, but most of us want to simply enjoy the good fights, and are quite happy to let TC win T2.

And that’s not to say FA can’t or doesn’t play the points game. We made the push to get to T2, made several weeks of pushing to beat TC, and now we are pushing to stay in the tier. We put on our PPT pants when need be.

Now this isn’t one of those “we could beat you if we tried” posts, TC is a formidable opponent. But your suggestions to improve our meta just aren’t fun in our eyes, because our goals aren’t necessarily the same. Our mentality and culture are in part a product of being dominated in T3 (mostly by TC no less), and it is one we are proud of.

That’s entirely your prerogative, and your server is fully entitled to adopting that attitude.

Likewise, TC has every right to play the ppt meta too no?

The most epic night of wvw i had i a long time was a couple of nights back in KNBL where TC had 40 in bay, with KN and FA outside, and we were outmanned.

Yes, outmanned with a 40 man zerg, suffice to say, the lag was epic.

But good lord was it a sight to behold, and thanks to both servers that made it happen, my only regret was not screenshotting that.

I hesitate to say this as it will be taken the wrong way, but purely as an observation, those guilds that left IoJ gutted it then of their own accord, no?

If the result is the same, on what basis the distinction now?

Guilds leave or stay in their best interests, those guilds that left IoJ were fully entitled to regardless of what happened to their server.

Where’s the FA lamentations for IoJ in tier 6?

Also, why the QQ about T2 falling apart?

There are huge fights on any one of the maps at any given time, so whats the issue?

The big fights are here, nobody is going up or down anytime soon, cheating seems to have been stamped out for the most part, though there is still some siege griefing.

So what’s is the problem?

KN has their Karaoke nights, FA has their RP nights, HUGE fights EVERY night, TC gets to be loot bags.

I thought it was well-know that Anvil Rock is the go-to server for dedicated sPvPers. It started this way since BWE when some of the sPvP dedicated guilds who thought GW2 would actually have an e-sports scene (sigh) began to congregate on Anvil Rock. This includes Team Paradigm, Alpha Collective, and a few other solid sPvP guilds transferred there.

As someone who came into this game exclusively for the sPvP, but who has since branched off, Anvil Rock was a great place to be a few months ago. Constant teams forming in Heart of the Mists, devs dropping by to talk shop, etc. Now with sPvP in such a bad state, the community is kind of dead, but it’s still where the few remaining heavy sPvPers stayed.

I just honestly don’t believe this about TC. KN has some good guilds and have provided some good GvG’s. TC barely GvG’s. The few times they have it has gone very poorly. These are times when numbers are even. You can’t hide behind walls or show up with twice the numbers and brag about steam rolling a few guys. It’s about who’s “better” because the baddies die. If you are genuinely curious and believe a certain group is “competent”, then put it to the test.
