I just love noticing that most of the people saying “Dodge more, cry less” or any equivalent usually play with mostly, if not entirely, ranged options.
Some people actually LIKE to use melee weapons to attack things. I know, strange concept for an RPG, but it does happen.
I would assume at least hair style will be changeable eventually. All of these types of games do it.
As to when, well, I’d say if it bothers you too much just change it ASAP. I’m no Nostradamus but I don’t see these features existing in the near future. There’s too much on Anet’s plate as it is.
I could be wrong. It has happened before
Asura Greatsword Warrior…
Yoda Fight Scene anyone?
If you have a group of people cycle through picking up a banner and using a skill that applies a boon which stacks in duration, you can use the entire 45s of the banner to apply an amazingly long-duration boon.
Even though this doesn’t happen very often, it still seems rather exploit-ish.
If conjured weapons remember auto-attack, you will consume them so quickly. It is good for conjured weapons.
I think you may have miss understood the issue.
We aren’t saying the Utility skill to conjure the weapon (for example Lightning hammer) won’t remember auto attack, we’re talking about the 5 new attacks you get from the the conjured weapon.
So if i conjure up a Lightning hammer i get 5 new attacks, each of these 5 attacks has no auto attack by default (not even the 1st one) – and if i set the 1st to auto attack and then pick up the extra hammer or switch back to my main attacks and then conjure it again, all the Lightning hammer attacks are again set to no auto attack.
We just want it to remember if the auto attack on the conjured weapons 5 new skills are set to enabled – if they can’t do this simply then they can at least set the 1st attack on every conjured weapon to enabled by default.
It’s a very annoying issue that effects gameplay a lot IMO. I love the Elemental conjured weapons, but it’s such an annoyance to have to set auto attack each and every time i conjure one.
He means quickly consuming the charges after the weapon has been cast. Since you can only use a certain number of skills before the weapon itself disappears, he’s making the point that auto-attack is disabled for a more controlled use of limited charges.
Its a good point, but if you want your conjured weapon to remember that YOU personally want a certain skill to auto-attack, then I’m sure you’re okay with automatically using the charges every time you cast your weapon and as often as possible.
If auto-attack isn’t enabled for everyone when you chose it, only for you, that would be ideal.
Also, anyone knows what sPvP and Fumble means?
For sPvP, I’m assuming server PvP, but just want to be sure. If it’s server PvP, that’s WvW or what? o.o
sPvP is, as mentioned before, “Structured” PvP which limits your armor/weapons to a few sets of pre-built stats and a free set of sigils/marks for your armor and weapons. Its played in a maximum of 8 v 8 matches on random servers with preset map rotations or 5 v 5 tournaments.
Fumble is a “Glancing Blow” which happens more often when you fight monsters of a higher level or if you have the condition “Weakness” placed on you. Glancing blows do 50% damage and cannot crit. In other words, “Weakness” is a very powerful damage reduction tool.
Whirling Wrath: Projectiles do not do damage. I have been watching this ability for a long time, and I have never seen damage numbers on anyone outside of melee range, despite the animation tossing projectiles out all over the place.
If I recall correctly it only hits 3 targets at a time (as most melee AoEs have been reduced to 3 targets for WvW balance purposes), if there are 3 targets in melee range, it will start with them first. So even though you’re seeing projectiles fly out in the distance, if you’re already hitting 3 targets, its just an animation issue.
Also, because of the nature of the skill, it won’t always hit the same 3 targets if they start changing positions on you. So even though you may see more than 3 targets with numbers over their heads, you’re never hitting more than 3 at once.
This is definitely the case with chain skills and Hundred Blades. I’m assuming Whirling Wrath works this way as well.
You have to bind it to a key. I don’t think its been given a default, has it?
I thoroughly enjoy the idea of many people picking up banners in order to use them, however there are a few real issues with banners currently:
#As OP has stated, people grab them and run off, possibly without even noticing
#They get in the way of looting
#The cooldowns are independent per person, so the skills can be unfairly stacked
#Swapping weapons more readily drops the banner than skill 5 used to place it
Some fixes that would help banners IMO are as follows:
#Banners can only be taken a maximum of ‘x’ distance from the warrior who cast them
#Banners’ Environmental Weapon skills have a global cooldown to prevent exploitation of EW skills (i.e. stacking the hell out of swiftness)
#Skill 5 to place the banner should have a very short duration cast
…
and finally:
A separate key bind for the Loot All feature should be added so that people can loot without interacting to ANYTHING in the surrounding area. This includes banners, environmental objects, NPCs, etc. Personally I’m tired of having an NPC stand over the body I’m trying to loot such that I have to click on it because s/he won’t stop talking to me! lol
Just for the sake of not making another trading post thread, there’s a bug with search.
When you search for an item and use the arrow keys to scroll down the auto-complete list, and then hit the Enter key to search, you will get a never-ending loading spinner in your item list that does not allow you to click on an item to view buy/sell methods and prices for that item.
This happens with all shields in preview mode as well (at least for humans). Anything on your back in preview mode doesn’t seem to be positioned very well.
Also, if you flag yourself for LFG as a Mesmer and go PvP, your enemies can more easily find you as you’re the only one who is tagged and not your clones.
Just FYI for all you Mesmers out there who go LFG and forget about it.
Detonate does not work in PvE at all. In sPvP you have to use Shield of Absorption twice to continue the last 20s of Detonate’s cooldown. It does not reset after a full 60 seconds on its own.
