DB just took everything west of SM (including one of our walls at SM at 90%) and had our lowlands water gate down – kudos to all on TC who rallied together to repel that attack and rebuild everything!

FA is making a big push on their BLs though .. see you on the battle field

Hoping to get an official response:

Does siege really despawn? I’ve heard folks say you have to use them every 30mins or so otherwise they will disappear. Others say it is a rumor and that it is the lightning that hits the siege and gradually destroys it.

I feel like a superstitious chump going around activating siege once in a while so hoping for an official response.

Also does anyone have any clue about siege limits: e.g. is there a max amount of rams that can be placed on a map at a given time, after that you can’t place anymore?

To my fellow TC’ers I know it’s hard when an orb gets hacked by remember we’re not the whining type, report the behavior and let the devs get the culprit .. in the meantime let’s keep our fighting spirit up!!

I know yesterday FA came and took our Greenlake Keep at FA BL that was fully upgraded (cause no one was inside) and it took a couple of hours to get it back n fully upgraded again .. but gutsy move considering it is just outside our spawn, twas some nice fighting on last night.

To those that are saying TC is abusing game mechanics etc. remember TC lost by 300k + to Blackgate and almost as bad to Crystal Desert the past 2 weeks – game mechanics haven’t changed so why are we doing better?

If it is a lack of 24/7 coverage for your server, go out and do something about it. If it is a lack of strategy etc, go out and do something about it.

There are some folks on TC who have taken great initiative at building up the community in terms of strategy/VOIP etc. – be the change you want to see, lol.

Although BG was rampaging through all the maps last week and CD the week before, many of us fought hard and had fun despite how grim the score was. There is some kind of magic that makes it worthwhile to join WvW even if we are getting stomped.

We like well-mannered and polite players, tough. If you are not nice, please stay away!

We got totally destroyed by Crystal Desert and Blackgate, but many of the guilds and leaders are now using the very same tactics in our current match up.

If you want a place where we don’t care about the score .. log on and fight without whining even when the odds are against us, this is the place to be.

Just a reminder to keep it classy as stated in the first post, already another match up thread has been locked for being full of inflammatory posts.

WvW is 24/7, some folks are just not used to it yet (yes there’s a whole bunch of us not living in North America – get used to it!)

What do you mean by spawn camping? (there are 3 different exits to WvW spawns as far as I am aware). I’ve experienced spawn camping at the steps (especially by Blackgate now in our current matchup) but I aint mad .. always find another way out

Hello everyone!

The topic title sums it up but as usual looking for an active guild to call home .. I’m most often in WvW (no particular map). Of course I’d be willing to run dungeons/help guild mates with PVE content (recently got 100% map completion), but I’m mainly focused .. or rather obsessed at the moment with WvW (EB & BLs).

I’m beginning to learn and like the amount of strategy that goes into WvW, so looking for like minded players who are interested in short-term/long-term WvW strategy and play i.e. moderately decent WvW PVPers in mindset and attitude, so very basic e.g. not taking supply out of keeps when a keep upgrade is a priority (skill wise we are always improving anyway right!?).

I’m an undergrad (college) so my commitment level varies with the term but I’m usually on between 9pm-3am +8GMT.

Bout me in game: I’m a level 80 Ranger with 400 Leatherworker & Huntsman (plan on maxing out all – but I’d be willing to craft for guildies at the very least at cost price or for free as long as I can afford it!)

I know TC is the unofficial RP server but I don’t RP (or rather haven’t in the past) so just a heads up .. but I would be open to it down the line if there are guilds that have RPing as a requirement and are recruiting. Also I’m not willing to move from TC (sorry to the other guilds .. the community here is just too good).

So far I’ve seen Transcendent Veneration (TV) and The Shadow Legion (TSL) in WvW the most and I’m very interested .. just wondering if you guys are ok with my timezone. Also hoping to hear from any other guilds out there.

No offence to guilds that respond here if I don’t join you .. at the end of the day on WvW we’re all on the same side anyway

I don’t RP (don’t go to Taverns etc.) but I haven’t had a problem finding folks to do stuff with in Tarnished Coast.

I recently got 100% map completion and it was due to so many random people helping me with getting skill points and POIs etc. (especially in Orr). Like the poster above me said .. haven’t had a problem finding dungeon groups either.

Now most of the time I’m in WvW and you tend to see the same faces but it’s slowly growing (we’re starting to have Qs now at certain hours which is bittersweet) – plus we’ve been consistently moving up the rankings since launch.

In a nutshell it’s a really really friendly community (feel free to /w me lol)

Hope an option to disable the star is released, especially for WvW .. I feel like I’m getting targeted more since I got it

You can only see people who are ‘near’ you .. so just cause you don’t see anyone when you press M does not mean there is no one there

Sometimes I wish the enemy can see what we are typing in WvW – lol.

Thank you to the folks who quoted me, just read your post – I didn’t know that .. but I tried this a few days ago (just stood around and saw a F function and quickly clicked it and it worked).

Also the Straits of Hazaan (Sparkfly Fen map) skill point the sharks are appeared too (this was a couple of days ago too)

Yup still broken for some time for me too – the shark remains in the rock for me ..

Plus the cannon vista in Disseau Plateau .. these two are keeping me from 100% map completion, sigh

Wait till you guys get to Orr!!

Having said that I’ve so far managed ok doing whatever I need to do in Orr (there are some insane spawn rates) – but I like the challenge. And it has forced me and others to group and party with each other to explore/quest .. there is a real sense of security being in a party of 2 or 3 which I like game community wise.

Could u remember what map it is in? and then use a close landmark to share where it is exactly? .. I’ll try and figure it out once u share ..

I got in the same boat some time back but have found myself occupied getting 100% map completion and WvW’ing

YouTube it .. usually works for me if I have tricky POI’s or Vista’s to get too.

We’ve finally tracked down the root cause of these missing skill point NPCs and fixed it. This magical fix will be in the next patch after it goes through further testing. This fix will also address issues with missing Event NPCs, too.

We apologize for the hassle these have been, but thank you all for hanging in there while we got this issue sorted out.

Here are some more:

Tarnished Coast:
Sparkfly Fen – Stone of Hazaan Skill Point (Shark is stuck in the rock and can’t reach it)

Diessa Plateau – Vista that requires you to use a cannon to get there, when you talk to the NPC it says : “The content is currently unavailable please try again later”.

Couldn’t you make these Skill Points/NPCs refresh every day or something?

I did for my personal story quest “Forging The Pact” that was bugged, but I ignored it and completed it. Got it recently in PVE somewhere, but I just ignored it again …

Roots is a survival skill …

It works very well actually, often switch to it in PVE and WvW

Don’t think it works with the Forge.

I use a full MF set for PVE though and can see a very noticeable difference.

I like many others hit 80 ages ago and am still not bored, currently pre-occupied with WvW, having mad fun when with friends, but there’s tonnes of other stuff to get occupied with (note I’m not even remotely interested in Legendary’s and farming for aesthetic armors)

If WvW was all guild wars 2 was about I would still buy the game to play it .. like you said, it can be amazing fun with some friends

Could we have subforums for each server?

Would be nice for folks not yet on mumble/etc. to be able to congregate in one place

I tried this after more than a week now yesterday, I kept getting this in game message
“This content is temporarily disabled. Please try again later”

But I ignored it like a bauss and continued in the cave, not moving too fast – finally the researchers followed me, completed the whole thing – phew!

Just a note to folks who get that message, try just ignoring it and continuing to play …

(hope there isn’t a roll back!!)

Anybody have any idea what happens if you don’t have enough copper/silver on you to waypoint somewhere after death?

This hasn’t happen to me yet, but I’m quite alarmed at how it is being handled cause it looks like anyone could get bugged out and then have their progress impeded …

Was thinking of going to the gem store with some RL cash, but I think I will hold out until things are ironed out.

Map completion implies the whole game, yes?

Plus it’s not 3 games in one, it’s one game … if you want it then get some mates, strategize a bit and do it!

Magic find seems to increase your chance of getting rare items. For example, if you had a 1% chance of getting a rare drop, 100% magic find would boost that to 2%. Even with a lot of magic find you can still be unlucky and not get good drops.

Post after post after post littered with entitled people whining that their carrot got squashed… Is there anyone that does dungeons for other purposes? I’ll think of a few that I value:

-Hanging out with friends
-Teamwork accomplishment
-Beautiful and unique scenery
-Interesting and diverse story

Most of the folks complaining seem to be on the forums and on mumble .. in game /m and /say chat seems to be pretty chill

The dungeons were hard for me before, and now seem even harder – but I’m not complaining. Usually I’m in a pug group and even if we get wiped etc. we go back and get better. I like the fact that dungeons are incredibly hard.

And the thing about getting loot you can’t use .. my party’s always exchange items so it goes to the professions that can use em (nobody has complained thus far to me that they are getting tonnes of things not on par with their level).

Imagine if there were universal tokens and getting all that armor was a breeze – I feel the same folks who are complaining now will be back in 24hrs saying there is no end game content …

Whether it is a grind, or not .. depends on your perspective. (I suggest going about and doing some runs/interacting with peeps on your server randomly .. have some fun! take it easy).

You can report bugs or things like this immediately by typing /bug (and there’s an in-game feature to attach a screenshot).

(just my 2 cents : Once world transfers are not free anymore, also disable transferring to a server that your own server is battling in WvW – once the matchup is over then allow it. Won’t eliminate ‘spying’ if it’s not wanted but will make it harder)

Personally I use Longbow or Shortbow / Axe-Warhorn for PVE and have been loving it so far. As folks have said the Warhorn 5 gives a nice buff (which I follow with my Warhorn 4 birdie attack) .. the Axe lets you bounce and hit multiple targets plus the Axe 3 chilling comes in handy when a mob is walking down on you.

Sometimes I switch the axe-warhorn for a greatsword but rarely ..

Not that I’m complaining about having to pay for content (because I’m happy to do so) but, if this is anything like GW1, when there’s any sort of meaningful update, it’s usually $20-$30. Again, I don’t mind paying, but until we get meaningful updates for free, as they’ve said they’ll do, to suggest otherwise is just misinformation.

I guess we just have different expectations then ..

Personally though I like the nutty stories behind some of the DEs and what not. I just hit 80 but only now have started to explore the various dungeons and that’s my latest infatuation. And then pecking at the back of my head is map exploration and doing all of them secret jumping puzzles. And then some random in a tavern will start asking if anyone wants to run around in WvW and the sheer magnitude of it fascinates me. AND THEN mates feel like having a little sPVP a la LOL style :p

So for me I’m quite occupied. Even the random little conversations you hear NPCs having in towns is something I enjoy.

Maybe you’ve just played so long in such a short time you’re feeling a little jaded ..

I never played GW1 though, and from what you say bout the multiple skills available etc. that would be nice if GW2 gradually went in that direction (I can see why that started out trying to make things simple for ‘newcomers’ like me).

I’m a Ranger and I just hit 80 – and what I love the most is probably the whole pet management aspect (and the Pokemon feel about going around trying to catch em all :p).

Overall one thing I like is how different weapons have different skills for different professions, plus different skills depending where you equip them, like you said there are quite a number of possibilities in builds that you can experiment with .. really like how getting all this in line with what you want and creating that synergy in your build with trait points etc.

Dislike, well some Pet skills are bugged and not all are player controlled (only F2) .. so hopefully they reduce the AI control down the line

In the bugs section of the forum there’s a whole thread dedicated to the Forging the Pact issue .. I’m one of those affected, argh!!!

I’ve been playing Ranger in PVE and feel like a demigod (with my pets of course)

You can type /bug and report it right away with a screenshot (via ingame) and an explanation (usually what I do when I come across something frustrating like that ..)
