phooka hit the nail ont he head. The death penalty is truly fine. Pay more attention so you die less, or travel with others so you can revive each other when things get bad.

Then again if you travel with others AND pay more attention chances of death fall very dramatically.

Remove WvW from Map completion.

Do realize this is not GW1, there are many players (several of my friends infact) That have no plans on ever stepping foot into PvP or W3 no matter how hard I try to get them to join me there.

Map completion is a PvE thing, it is exploration that literally can be completed with minimal combat if you truly wish to get creative. Forcing people that have no interest in PvP to go into W3 to be used as fodder will only hurt the game’s longevity.

Ways to kill a game’s PvP? Force people to go there rather than give them (equal) incentive to go there or create a PvP only stat.
Ways to kill a game’s PvE and thus kill your game? Force anyone into PvP situations.

As someone who enjoys PvP…I rather fight those who also enjoy PvP than take cheap shots at people who honestly don’t wish to be there in the first place. I enjoy charging into fights outnumbered and winning through skill rather than steamrolling over the lone map completionist and being just a kitten. Lets just remove those types from the field of battle and leave them to places they actually want to be. Everyone is happy then, well exept the no skillers that hunt those lone individuals for jollies.

This was a pointless change. If people are killing themselves on retaliation in PvP that is their fault for not watching the enemies buffs (you CAN see them) and for not attacking in ways retaliation can’t really have an effect (necromancer pets/wells, elementalist meteor rains, etc). Also it was not hard taking people who relied upon retaliation if you knew how to kite them (seriously it was never hard to kite a guardian endlessly as 90% of guardians fail to put a scepter in their offhand as a ranged attack or to make use of the chains to immobalize an enemy kiting them).

Thus this is nothing but a nerf to guardian PvE damage, while a guardian already has incredibly low HP compared to other classes and the guardian is well known to being a low damage class already. This entire patch leaves nothing but a bad taste in the mouths of guardian players everywhere who liked using the greatsword.

Anet needs to adopt a policy right now to never, ever, alter the location of skills upon weapons unless they give us the ability to change where those skills are located ourselves.

My main was a guardian and thanks to this I now have to abandon the greatsword and look for a different weaponstyle I enjoy ontop of altering my entire build. I enjoyed being able to keep wrath down for most of a fight not because of retaliation (that only worked for a single second making that argument truly moronic) but because it would keep vulnerability up on everything my group was fighting. I am very likely to just abandon the class altogether.

BSOD's and Crashing caused by Hardware or Engine?

I’ll have to add my name to this ever growing list.

The game simply force disconnects me totally at random every 10-15 min…mind you this started around sept 15/16 when an update happened. Then upon opening up the launcher it asks to repair the game, which I never allow it to do anymore as it literally does NOTHING to solve this.

I really wish ANet would just admit they screwed something up and are working on this, as right now it honestly feels as though we are beign ignored.

Hardware is not the cause of this, neither is any driver issues…if it were every other thing on the computer would be showing problems. Repeatedly people are saying this is only happening with GW2.

I’ll have to try the intall outside of the program files…

Random Disconnects

Ask around in area chat Yasi and you will be surprised just how many people are experiencing this issue, and Arena Net still hasn’t said a thing to us on what is wrong.

It is deffinately a fatal problem with GW2, be it a corrupted file they are distributing or a corrupt file the fixer cannot fix…it is not a user problem, or a hardware problem on our end.

Asura Skill Size - Bug with guardians

After doing some testing I can confirm that Asura have to get closer to their targets from center mass to hit with AOEs such as whirlwind that is melee centric. I have also noticed enemies having to get closer to an asura in order to damage them in melee (going from center mass here). So I would have to say that hit boxes are not normalized in regards to melee, else I would not be seeing this. I could be mistaken in that the asura are not the most stable of melee fighters and jump around alot however in basic auto attacks, though in regard to norn guardian vs asura guardian whirlwind skills…the norn is definately hitting a larger area in my tests.

The shield has a side that asura can capitalize on. The giant shield that a norn generates is easy for an enemy to move inside of (and thus ignore the effects of) compared to an asura’s. So while the norn can protect more people against a large attack, the asura can use it more tactically in skirmishes. There are pro’s and cons to the shield beign different.
