They seriously need to buff support players. If you give someone a buff, and that person recieves loot, the buffer should also recieve loot EVERY SINGLE TIME. This one change would fix how support players feel right now.

The Allies had ace’s with half his kills that were never once shot down before being circulated back home, the baron was shot down multiple times…he just got lucky and survived.

There is little reason to includes a stat boost to legendaries. This game has chosen a different route of progression, a visual one rather than a power level one (any stat increase is an increase in power). This was their design decision.

If they float over your head without the ability to turn titles off, they are now irritating to most people. No, you don’t use turning all names off as a means of combating this as people use floating names to call out targets.

If you are curious about titles, click on people, if you aren’t then youdon’t see them. It is perfect as is.

Guild Armor Appearance

I have not found a single person that likes the guild armor. Just have it create the emblem on our current armor, or give us cloaks!

The problem is that your PvP armor is not considered real armor. Note it has no base stats. For better or worse the PvP armor is a 3rd tab you can only access in the mists that serves as balancing purposes by removing stats from the pvp equation.

Our real armor is literally always on, when you reset your appearance in the pvp armor preview menu it reverts directly to your pve set. Chances are that it is coded to recognize that set as your armor and everything else is just a temp skin.

While it might be possible to recode for that one thing, that is a lot of coding for something you see for all of a few seconds.

I vote Titles be more noticeable.

The way it is now is perfect. Look around a diner some time. You can’t point out those with official titles and those who don’t (yes official titles exist in this day and age expecially if you work for the government).

You want to brag? Get a legendary weapon for visibility. Leave the titles nice and small so there is less clutter. It is bad enough the commander icons show up in PvE.

Every class has a utility skill that cleanses conditions, here is a thought…use that skill when you make a break for it!

If you don’t have it equiped that is your own fault. The cripple lasts a minut but they can’t apply it very often individually and can force them to use it just by strafing around them. AI is easy to trick.

Making WvW more dynamic/ balanced

This should already be happening IMO. The bordelands should just be that, total borderlands. Not just a PvP location but a location against everything. Nothing should be takenf or granted and you should have to defend the keeps regularly from player and npc alike.

2hnd Hammer skins, not many good ones

I have to concur, the general sizing of the 2h hammer skins is rediculously SMALL. War hammers in history (true 2h hammers) have oversized heads designed to simply crush a foe in a single blow. Most of the current sizes look like toy hammers…ESPECIALLY in the hands of a norn!

New Profession: Monk

Guardians already fill in the holy warrior archetype…they are knight/holy man.

What does a monk bring to the game? Bare fists do not work in this game’s set up, you must use weapons and must use AVAILABLE weapons in the idea so that it atleast looks viable in all content already in the game. You must also bring something new to the table, holy is filled by guardian so we go in a different direction.

Now, get your mind away from GW1 (seriously the monk class there would be chewed up and spit out by any monster here in GW2, it really had no offensive strengths at the higher levels of play) and lets look in a different direction. Shaolin monk styles COULD be viable here. They train with swords (one hand), axes, hammers, staves, and pray using beads (focus). Now every class has access to 2 ranged weapons and while it is uncommon, the monks do train with bows (shortbow would be more in line with the playstyle) so lets add that to the list of available weapons. As for utility we give them shouts, signets, prayers (provide block while praying but the monk is locked in place and the buffs provided only effect others), serene blessings (create fields of fire/cold/earth/air that follow the monk around for a set time but provide no other benefit – this set would be GREAT to have traits really alter in the way symbols can be hugely effected for guards). This should provide a mix between the melee fighting style of a real world monk and a support playstyle for those missing the GW1 monk playstyle that will never be fully seen here in GW2.

IMO anything with stealth should simply be set to 80-90% transparency. It is stealth, not invisibility, there should be an outline or a shimmer effect, something that gives them away to those able to percieve it. This will shut down most of the whinning and give those that do whine something to get better at (paying attention).

Weapon choice determines how people fight against you in pvp, recognizing weapons is a part of PvP skill in knowing how to anticipate attacks.
Also in pve knowing the weapons your allies use also means you are better prepared for what they can do (strategically placed fields for example).

Altering your armor’s look from heavy to medium/light for example is also a no-go as it ruins the theme of the class.

No, slot a utility skill with a break stun skill. THAT is your evade roll.
If you wish to avoid knockdowns build defensively, slot your skills defensively, or suffer the effects of your own inability to prepare.

The ability to do what you want is already there, no need for a change. This is coming from someone that doesn’t even use knockdowns.

Make ground target AoEs a little easier to manage.

When farming, move to other areas. You are being punished for staying in exactly the same area. moving half a map away is enough to prevent it, swapping maps is even better. If you are farmign Orr…you have 3 zones to farm in. Doing meta-events also resets the farming timer.

The timer harms botters, and those grinding away in one map for hours on end like a zombie. Spend 2 hours in one map then move to another. Help people do story missions and it resets each time.

Are all of you missing something big regarding number 6? Go to your book seller when you have trait points and you can talk to them instead of going to the shop menu. Read more and mindlessly click less. Talk to them and they give you the option to reset trait points…at lvl 80 it’s roughly 3-5 silver. If this is breaking the bank you are changing your traits far too often. Go to the mists lobby and play with the traits untill you find what you feel will work for you.

Number 4 makes sense however…there should be an internal timer (say one hour) that if an event doesn’t finish it should be forced to finish as if it was failed.

While not perfect, you can preview the guild armor atleast in the mists. Nearly all armor sets are in the pvp locker and can be previewed even if you do not own them. Note the cultural armor can only be previewed if you belong to that culture.

Shouldn't attacks against stealthed Player Characters miss?

Since a lot of people are telling me to keep moving, that’s exactly what I do when stealthed. However, the attacks that make me throw up my hands in frustration are mostly the ranged attacks like arrows and rapid fires or things like wurm rocks that take a long time to cast, but if you stealth mid-cast and move, they will still hit you. I’m not saying you shouldn’t take any damage at all, anything AOE or melee should certainly hit you if you’re standing in it. But I’m so sick and tired of running past Nightmare Court or Wurms or Risen and getting hit and knocked down or pulled while I’m stealthed and moving. Surely we can all agree that those should always be a miss?

Learn your aggro radius, and don’t try to run past mobs that can take control away from you in some way (ergo anything stability prevents). If you need past them, kill them…don’t try to run past them.

Stealth in this game should not be called stealth…it is camoflage. You are not 100% invisible. Player weapons still have a faint outline (by design) as do enemy weapons (jaguar/skag feet still have a faintly visible outline showing their location). Stealth skills also do not drop aggro unless the skill specifically states that it does so, that should be a giant red flag to you that it isn’t going to drop skill casts either. Learn and adapt to this change from previous MMOs.

If it was a symbol it would also allow all the traits to suddenly be useful ESPECIALLY as the scepter traits are in a line that forces you into a bunch of minors that help symbols in the first place.

This is because he is in your guild. Blocking only truly works if you are not in the same guild. They assume you would not want to be affiliated with someone you have blocked after all.

Ran through Arah without a hitch, as have hundreds/thousands of others.
4 man team and defending Zojja wasn’t too bad at all.

Big hint, you all can’t be built to just deal damage. You NEED support players and players built to take more hits than others to act as temp tanks and shield walls for others. Every critisism I’ve heard with most dungeouns (especially Arah) was when a group of people ran it and all 5 of them are built for pure damage.

Tarnished Coast here and I’m always seeing people.

I would ask yourself, TylerWit, do you play in the middle of the night on a US server? Try a European server then…that is their prime time. Or…are you on what is turning into a large pvp server? Everyone might be in the mists. Of course you could also be in an unpopular zone (the asura and sylvari zones have a larger tendency to be dead). Are you in Orr? This is a zone that never seems dead on TC.

You must not get how sigils work. The sigil of your main hand weapon can only proc off of auto attacks and the 2nd/3rd skill slots while your off hand sigil can only proc off of 4th and 5th slot skills.
If anything it is worse as people tend to prefer to use similar sigils in both.

+5% damage or crit only effects the skills of the hand that is holding the weapon. Thus equiping 2 +5% crit sigils only nets a 5% crit chance across all 5 skills.

Putting 2 sigils into a 2h weapon makes 2h weapons vastly superior to all others.

I used Sigil of Fire on my shield and it proc when I used my auto-attack main hand sword.

In the 2 hours of testing in the mists upon dummies (you need a predictable enemy so that you are testing only a single variable) I did not see a single sigil proc off of the wrong hand. I find it hard to believe that sigils cross react and yet never cross reacted in a span of 2 hours of testing. In that time my main hand (mostly due to having auto attack skills to proc off of) had 82 procs while my offhand had only 25.

So either you got insanely lucky, or experienced sigil lag and had just used a shield skill prior to the auto attack. Oddly, purely defensive skills can trigger a fire nova yet seem incapable of triggering the lightning strike, examples include the guardian shield’s shelter or the warrior shield’s blocking stance. The nova, if it happens, will trigger upon the end of the ability.

I’m curious if anyone else has done similar testing now.

I’m not pro nerfs. However, if the wars are where the devs want them to be, then some classes are majorly getting screwed. Go read the ranger’s forums. It’s not about knowing how to play it. They took away our dps. We’re getting beat by other classes in bow dps…How sad is that.

…and yet Ranger greatsword makes a warrior look like a small child with the same weapon whenever hundred blades is on recharge.

Build your ranger into condition based shortbow and you rip apart single targets. Longbow is about being able to sit back and peper targets. The warrior is about getting in close with the longbow…aoeing as they close to switch to melee weaponry (hence why warriors get a trait line to make weapon swapping faster, they HAVE to weapon swap to be competative).

One of the problems I see is people get caught up in what the classes have always been represented and how they have been built. Ranger is built to be medium range (look at dual axes or shortbow) and even close range (previously mentioned greatsword) rather than super long range. They changed the archetype a bit is all. Do I think it looks wierd? YES! I think of a ranger and I think of a longbow using person…they seem to have gone the more realistic route however, those known as rangers in the real world tended to uses melee weapons and short range weapons rather than longbows. After all, a true longbow did not work that well in thick wilderness settings.

Warrior’s are NOT hard to kill in PvP…they are actually pretty easy to rip into shreds as nigh any class. All classes have a weakness. Try changing how you attack and/or your build/weapons.

It exists out there. You just have to put the time into finding it and matching it all up.

Heavy armor will never be “sleek” as this is not sci-fi. Heavy armor is plates and steel chain linked shirts. It will always be bulky and should look bulky as you are wearing roughly 50-60 lbs of metal.
Both light and medium armor has sleek styles, you just have to find it…usually by picking and choosing skins from various armor sets. Use the PvP locker int he mists to preview nigh every armor set in the game and not what they are called, then look for them in like-minded locations.

I counter that with the simple fact that a melee that doesn’t have ranged weapons in the weapon slot is a fool that limit’s themself to all options. He who wins on the battlefield does so because they are not tied down to a single strategy.

I would support players being forced to use 1 melee + 1 ranged weapon set.

But as I am given the option to use 2 melee weapons, I resent being forced to have a ranged weapon.

Using 2 ranged weapon sets does not put you at a disadvantage.

That is bad design, but that’s a different thread.

I would support simply removing retaliation from wrath as long as they revert everything else back to how it was. Seriously it only provided a single second of retaliation after all. As for the light field, if it provided such a benefit then change it into a fire field as it falls perfectly in line with the flavor of the guardian skills.

Considering the necessity of condition removal, I think changing the field from light to fire would be a severe nerf to greatsword.
It would be worse than what it is now.

Our cleansing frequency was reduced, but our mobility and blinding was improved.
My only gripe is the damage loss.

I counter the need for a light field to remove conditions when we have several shouts doing the same thing, a trait to remove them every 10 seconds, and a healing signet for every 10 seconds (trait+signet=you will never have conditions on you for longer than 5 seconds). If you worry about conditions then build (all of 10 points even) to counter them, don’t rely on fields.

As for the melee+melee being disadvantaged. Well…sadly in MMOs melee is almost always disadvantaged if you focus upon it. Be it large mobs AOEing in cones or shockwaves, or the requirement to get through damage fields just to deal any damage at all.

Monk/Ritualist/Healer/Healing Options

Could just make +healing more useful…. No one invests in it mainly cause it adds nothing. Seriously, I’ve had iterations where I’ve added +1000 healing to only buff my direct heal by 200 additional points…. You put 1000 into any other stat and it would be infinitely more useful by comparison.

Heals are already on cooldowns and not everyone is rocking +healing or multiple healing options so why do we have this stat that’s been trivialized?

+healign is so incredibly pointless. IMO for every 5 +heal a HoT should heal for 1 more point of health (including the perminant guardian and elementalist ones). and direct heals by +1 per 2. Make the stat USEFULL for something you know?

This was something I noticed as well. We also get no notifications if a guildmate logs in. Nothing feels more disconecting to play for hours and look up to see a guildmate run past you in town and neither of you noticed the other was online thanks to having no notifications.

Make Dragons More Difficult

Most people do not find it fun to die repeatedly. So unless you are volunteering yourself to be dead for 90% of a fight every single dragon fight… then suggets minor tweaks.

Jormag’s Lieutenant is not an easy fight if you are melee focused. Even ranged will get ripped up unless you play like a wuss and hide in a pack of players or hang far back so the champs don’t target you.

Teakettle (the undead one’s name always fails me) is one that should be tweaked. Honestly I would increase the radius that the scuicider minions he drops release their poison. Heck make the poison fromt hem like the grenth alter…it is perminant unless you leave the area, would foster more co-operation as then no one could stand and just whack away the entire fight.

They are actually all minor tweaks, I’m fine with how Anet balances.

You obviously are not a greatsword guardian player. Many of us are abandoning the greatsword entirely due to the changes.

The problem I see is alot of people complaining about this, use the dodge button. If you use the dodge button then yes you have to hit a directional key first to cancel the channel. Heart objects can prevent even that single tap cancel.

However, if you just double tap a movement direction it cancels EVERYTHING and forces a dodge. The only time I have been unable to dodge in this way is when immobilized.

Smoothing out the story flow

It isn’t so much as a lack of problem as it is an understanding of the limitations of MMOs. Levels are used to equate power level and they don’t want you to feel as though your story is not progressing your power.

This is why people organize their bags, putting the stuff they want out of the rubbish as far on the bottom as they can. Takes all of 2 seconds to swap then.

That said, a purely out of combat weapon switch I would not be opposed to if only so that it is extra weapons not taking up bag space that we actually use.

This was a pointless change. If people are killing themselves on retaliation in PvP that is their fault for not watching the enemies buffs (you CAN see them) and for not attacking in ways retaliation can’t really have an effect (necromancer pets/wells, elementalist meteor rains, etc). Also it was not hard taking people who relied upon retaliation if you knew how to kite them (seriously it was never hard to kite a guardian endlessly as 90% of guardians fail to put a scepter in their offhand as a ranged attack or to make use of the chains to immobalize an enemy kiting them).

Sorry, but while ranged can indeed “ignore” someone’s retaliation by doing some other thing in the meanwhile, melee aren’t that lucky.
