Ok. I have no problem with the content being difficult. They are achievements after all, and meant to be tough.

I am currently trying to get to Moto’s finger, the last item I need for the Enchantment achievement. This is the first time in all the content where I feel like skill of the player makes no difference. I can do everything perfectly and still be knocked to my death repeatedly by flying mountain goats. You hear them coming, but can’t see them.

Then, if you are finally able to get lucky enough to survive the flying goats, you need to make a series of jumps onto disintegrating clouds that cannot be distinguished from the incessant fog.

There were some really difficult spots in SAB one where I died countless times and wanted to pull out my hair—NEVER did I feel like my skill couldn’t get me past. I felt like there was always something for me to figure out and do. This seems random and nearly sadistic.

I am trying to give you guys at A-Net the benefit of the doubt, but seems curious that this one is SO much more difficult now that there is a real world money Gem Store item people can buy if they die too much.

I really hope that’s not the idea. Get people hooked, and then get them to open their wallets because players are certain to fail.

Since the patch, the UNintended difficulty seems to be resolved.

The part you’re talking about it hard, but definitely doable.

An option to disable "orb" buff on myself?

in WvW

Posted by: RvLeshrac.2673

I wish they won’t allow anyone to turn the buff on and off. This is World vs World. 1v1 is SPvP.

GvG is.. well… not an option supported by Arena.Net yet… maybe in another game you will find what you are looking for.

Im sorry man, but if I chose to disable my orb buff thats my choice and it doesnt effect you or WvW in the least. Therefore your argument has no merit and is best kept to yourself.

To be frank, it does. It implies that you’re in WvWvW for a reason not intended by the designers AND of no assistance to your world. Try PvP.

the spinning flowers … I mean come on now.

Without redoing the map, they can’t currently correct the flower issues.

The other changes were simply workarounds to correct for engine issues. Now people are actually able to play the game instead of wrestling with bugs.

You said SAB would be hard. You said it wasn’t for everyone.

Now you nerf it and dumb it all down for those ‘weakest links’. Everyone who did it the hard way, I hope you enjoy the big [Moto’s finger] you just got.

ArenaNet: No newbs left behind!

Yeah, just look at all of those nerfs to hard mode.
…wait a sec

You think nerfing geysers, flowers, jumps, mobs and adding checkpoints does not affect hard mode?

A good 70-80% of TM is trying to determine the correct path. And the fixes weren’t “nerfs,” they are intended to correct bugs.

If you honestly believe that bugs are intended to add “challenge” to TM, I’m sure they can find a way to make some of the traps crash the client for you.

Yes, and now we are complaning because the nerfs on Normal mode also affected the Tribulation mode which it should not have done.

Then you should not be posting it in a topic about normal mode being too hard.

I’d go a bit further than that, and point out that NO ONE should be complaining about BUG FIXES. Honestly, had I known the issues with World 2 difficulty were almost entirely due to engine issues, I probably would have been less upset the first night.

I’m willing to bet cash that most of the people saying that Tribulation Mode is too easy are using video walkthroughs with an Infinite Coin.

If they think TM is too easy, maybe they should drop that Coin in the bank.

THANK YOU for implementing bug workarounds so quickly.

People need to look up what pay to win actually means. Pay to Win is where you buy gear that is ONLY available by purchase with cash and gives the player an advantage over others. For example, if ascended gear were only available for purchase with cash, that would be PTW. Cosmetic skins would not be. I would also consider purchasable Gem Store items that speed up the timers for ascended crafting.

Infinite continue coin is not a PTW item. For one, you get ZERO advantage over other players from playing SAB. Two, you can easily farm 7 bauble bubbles in 15-20 min from world 1 and convert to coming us tokens netting you 35 continue coins which give 6 useable lives (counting when you have 00). That’s 210 lives which is more than enough. The majority of players also rely on guides, which now there are plenty of, taking away the actual trial and error.

You get quite a large amount of AP for completing the Tribulation Mode achievements.

And then a dev claiming that the people complaining about the magical offset attack hitboxes are just crying when they meet the smallest amount of resistance, before finally buckling under the deluge and admitting that, yes, there are issues that need some work.

That seems like an odd interpretation of this:

You may be right. I think it’s too early to tell. Some number of people hit a little resistance and quit and come to complain about it. And some number hit that same resistance and are inspired to overcome it and they are in the game right now doing that. I don’t have a good sense of those numbers are right now. I’m more than happy to adjust it when I have better data to work from. Thanks for your feedback.

Or were you referring to something else I said?

Josh, you were not offensive at all, and never outright dismissed claims of difficulty. The people who claim you are either is utterly lacking in reading comprehension or are just incredibly defensive/sensitive and sees personal attacks between every sentence.

Alternately, you could read the later posts.

Two things:

a) I’ve been pretty bitter about this entire thing, but (taking his comments at face-value), it seems clear that Josh Foreman didn’t design the content with the ICC in mind.

b) Yes, the ICC is P2W. It gives you a massive boost to earning AP that others won’t have access to, meaning you can can AP rewards faster – improvements to your account-wide MF, gold gain, XP gain, etc. The infinite tools are NOT P2W, they’re a convenience item — the only benefit to owning them is that you save maybe a minute running back to town, and an infinitesimal amount of silver compared to the value of resources.

The biggest fail of this SAB is that it’s too long.

Lesson learned. I get it.

I guess the first one was successful because it was new, innovative and they wanted to get it right. Now when they made the second one, they’re just throw in a bigger team, a bigger budget and demand lengthier contents and say yup, that’s what players want. Like the say, the sequels are always crap until the next fresh reboot.

Smaller team, actually. And the length was my own desire to get as many ideas as I could in there. I spent several months pulling 16 hour days and a couple weeks where I did a couple 36 hour stretches, went home, slept and came back and did it again. No one else wanted me to do that. In fact those sort of crazy hours are discouraged at ArenaNet. I did that because I freeking love what I do and wanted this release to be the best thing ever. Turns out I pushed too hard to get those new mechanics in there and I’m being told here over and over that all that work was wasted and it’s making people miserable. I’ve learned my lesson. Won’t happen again! And for that, my family thanks you!

I learned a long time ago that the longer you work at a stretch, the worse your work gets!

Especially if you’re designing or writing code, doing it for 8 hours + solid is just a recipe for disaster. Moreso if you’re trying to one-up your previous work.

For what it’s worth, I think your responses here have made most of us feel better about the content. I think now we’re arguing more among ourselves about what’s wrong than at you.

(I guess it would also help if everyone would read your responses in the thread before posting, but that’s a pipe dream!)

[Also, maybe this should spark a discussion at ANet about how careless item placement in a cash shop can have a massive negative effect on our perception of the content and the designers. Myself included, a lot of us had a knee-jerk reaction to the Infinite coin, thinking the content was designed by you explicitly with the goal of selling more of them. Since you’ve made it pretty clear that wasn’t the case, sorry about that.]

It’s really great to get so much direct Dev response. I am once again looking forward to new SAB content.

That said, I still would like to hear more about the decision to reward much fewer Baubles in World 2 than in World 1.

I’m glad Josh is responding (even if his earlier responses were terribad). I’m not holding my breath, but it at least SOUNDS like he cares as much about these issues as the rest of us, as hard a time as we’re giving him. There are plenty of devs and designers who would just say everything is as-designed.

Hopefully, whomever is responsible for rewards and itemization will respond, eventually. I don’t think I’ve ever seen an itemization response that wasn’t really just “deal with it,” though.

(Ha. And while I type this, Josh responds to the question of fewer bubbles.)

Tribulation Mode is exactly what people demanded.

Normal Mode should not have nearly as many show-stopping areas as it does.

I don’t understand why so many people are confusing requests to tone down NORMAL mode with Tribulation Mode.

Please don’t water down the SAB just because an extremely vocal group of people don’t like it. I love the grueling difficulty of it and have been having more fun in GW2 than I have in a long time. One of my favorite things about the Living Story events is that they don’t have to cater to every player since they come and go so fast. Not every living story event is for every player. I personally play every single one that involves a jumping puzzle, but I don’t really do much with the dungeons. It doesn’t bother me that the dungeons don’t cater to my specific tastes because 1, I enjoy the base game a lot, and 2, I know that there’s always more content right around the corner.

If you don’t like the SAB, just don’t play it. If you feel World 2 is too hard for you, just play World 1. Games are supposed to get harder as you go along, and the SAB should be no exception. I had a ton of trouble with World 2, but by the time I got through it, I had gotten really good at it. That feeling of mastery is so much more rewarding for gamers like me than any item or title – although those are nice too. (Please make a title for Tribulation Mode.)

The main thing I’m trying to say here though is please don’t make the SAB any less difficult. I honestly hope that World 3 is more challenging than World 2 too.

There’s a hard mode for people who want punishing difficulty. This thread has NOTHING to do with it. Your punishing difficulty is perfectly safe.

We’re requesting fixes to Normal, which should be Normal.

Hey Josh, I’ve been following this thread for quite a while and I thought you might like some feedback.

Thanks for the quality feedback. I agree with most of what you say. One problem I’m realizing now is that when I first built 2-2 it was not a long level. I never changed the layout, but as we had more and more ideas for new mechanics they kept getting packed into that space. (and subsequently meant a bunch of 36 hour days for me and Lisa!) I’ve now come up with the ultimate idea: The Anti-Idea Helmet. (Please don’t steal this idea, I want to patent it.) It’s a helmet that the each member of the SAB team is given. Like a construction helmet, but it’s got brain reading electrodes or what-have-you that can sense when you start to get creative. At that point a spring loaded mallet pivots down from its mount on the top/front of the helmet, smacking you in the forehead, discouraging new ideas. With this invention I can guarantee that the next release for SAB will be shorter, less dense, and have fewer new mechanics. (and the subsequent bugs that accompany them)

Might I recommend a rotation of external play-testers for experimental content? Some of the people who have captured video for this thread, for example.

A big part of the problem seems to be that there’s a bit of blindness on the team(s) that produce the experimental content WRT design issues which aren’t bugs. That’s something I see a lot of in my day job. Too much focus on “This will be cool when it works!” and not enough on “How often will this work?”/“What happens when it DOESN’T work?”

Another big issue seems to come from sitting on the Near side of a pipe. Double-digit pings are great, sometimes even triple-digits, but someone should be testing content when connected via a fairly crappy cellular link, low-speed DSL, or the like. I see a lot of complaints (not just re:SAB) from EU and Asian players about game mechanics that don’t work properly on a poor link to the servers. I know my company released a product that worked GREAT on our internal servers, then failed miserably when it worked on real, off-the-shelf/not-configured-by-permanent-$50k/year-IT-staff servers over the dodgy wireless links that most small businesses use — we never tested ANY misconfiguration on the grounds that ‘we can’t test ALL misconfiguration!’

Tribulation Mode not hard mode

in Super Adventure Box: Back to School

Posted by: RvLeshrac.2673

RvLeshrac.2673

Tribulation Mode is not very hard mode. It’s “Surprise You’re Dead for NO Apparent Reason Mode”.

Players want a challenge they at least have a chance of avoiding based on skill. But Tribulation Mode is only trial and error until you learn where the hidden traps are.

Why not use something like the gambit system from Crown Pavilion.
*one heart gambit
*no continues gambit

I’m not saying Tribulation Mode shouldn’t exist. But it isn’t hard based on skill.

Tribulation mode is based on Torture Platformers like I Wanna be the Guy or Kazio Mario. Those games are entirely rooted in trial and error, the real skill tested is patience and resolve.

There’s a reason one relies on save points spaced roughly a minute of gameplay apart, and the other relies on emulation features such as Save States and Rewind. No one would care about, or play, either of them if you were forced to, essentially, restart the level after each death.

I see this going the same way as Diablo 3’s Inferno mode.

" GAME TOO HARD! YOU SAID IT WOULD BE SUPER HARD BUT GAME TOO HARD! NERF PLZ"

Having finished a run through yesterday, I found it challenging but greatly rewarding for getting past some sections. Never had issues with bugs or hitting targets. Get better at the game and enjoy challenging content for once. If you are not good enough to do it, please don’t ruin it for the people who can by begging for it to be changed.

No. Tribulation Mode is supposed to be hard. Normal World 2 should be only slightly more difficult than World 1.

Everyone was PERFECTLY FINE with the Tribulation Mode introduction. No one in their right mind should be complaining about the hard mode being difficult (whether or not Tribulation Mode is difficult or just incredibly bad design is a completely different discussion that has nothing to do with this thread.)

Normal Mode needs dozens of fixes in each level. We’re not even complaining about “difficulty,” per se. We’re complaining primarily about horrible mob placement, bad collision detection, and complete inflexibility when it comes to latency.

What about all the achievements tied to the gauntlet? That wasnt for everyone either… im surprised people didnt complain this hard with that.

Did you completely ignore the forums when the gauntlet came out? This is an absolute serious question as there was LOOOOOOAAADS of complaining.

The difference is that the Gauntlet didn’t have a bait-and-switch trial run where enemies were reasonably challenging, before being introduced several months later with Liadri and her magical offset attack hitboxes.

And then a dev claiming that the people complaining about the magical offset attack hitboxes are just crying when they meet the smallest amount of resistance, before finally buckling under the deluge and admitting that, yes, there are issues that need some work.

Random drop death from flowers…. whatre you talking about? do you not aim yourself when you jump on the flower…. do you just mindless run through content never trying to figure it out?

What do you not get about “the slightest amount of lag can cause the flowers to bug out, tripping when they’re nowhere near you on-screen”?

This mechanic has EXACTLY the same complaints and issues in the Aetherblade JP. It is not unique to SAB. What IS unique to SAB is that we have to trip two buggy objects in a row.

Instant kill arrow traps… really? really? So youve never played any old school games with traps and instant deaths? So you really dont look at the game and try to figure it out if you cant see the arrow traps.

Yep. I have. You know what they have in common? You can play through them as often as you want without having to spend several hours playing a different game, grinding for lives.

Oh, and the good ones, the ones mentioned repeatedly in this thread, don’t have massive collision-detection issues.

LONG zones and crash problems… LOL! the zones are only long when your trying to figure them out… after that they can easily be rushed through…. Crash problems are probably on your end. Try updating your graphics card drivers. Usually with these big updates youll need to update your drivers if your having problems.

What are you smoking with this “update your drivers” thing? Why do so many people think “update your drivers” is a magic incantation that resolves all gaming issues?

I finally watched Josh’s stream and he said something about how Tribulation and even normal mode isn’t going to be for everyone. That would be fine.. except for the large amount of APs behind Tribulation mode. That’s a wee bit frustrating and something I know that’s not in your control, Josh, but it’s still something I felt the need to comment on.

Personally, I don’t care about Tribulation mode – it was intended to be a punch in the face – no matter the AP. The people who can make it through that will certainly DESERVE a large reward.

However, the stupid Daily nerf to bubble gain and the ridiculous spike to NORMAL difficulty in W2 need to go.

Here’s hoping the patch fixes one of those problems, but I really don’t understand the horrible design philosophy that causes the other. “I know, we should decrease the rewards dramatically and require at least double the grind! People will find that so much more fun!”

It’s still a convenience item, but it’s finally one that’s really convenient.

It is an item that allows you to complete the content without any thought or balance on the part of the designers of the content. It is the definition of P2W.

I think most of whine comes from younger generation that didn’t get to experience this type of game. Obviously there are few of older guys too, but I think you guys got carried by the moment.
For me W2 is by far better then W1. W1 was just too, you could run it in about 10 minutes. After day or two of W1 everyone was just farming it multiple times with alts, and super adventure box became super farming box.
W2 reminds me on old school games and really brings up those memories.

Stop saying this crap. It does not. With the exception of some of the worst games of the era, no classic platformer, not even Pitfall, required pixel-edge-of-platform attacking and pixel-perfect jumping.

One of the alligators in SAB requires that you stand almost entirely off the level geometry in order to hit it, and there are several spots where you must stand in locations that are covered by rapids in order to make a jump, with no indication that these are actually safe.

Eh I can just name few games that this reminded me of:
Sega
- alex kid – was awesome game, it was hard and you had to finish it in one run. You couldn’t save, if u lose all lives you have to start over again.
- sonic – it was easier but it still reminded me with all those jumps
- psycho fox – another legendary game where I sharpened my jumping skills =).

SNES
- marios, donkey kong, zeldas all had their hard moments but that was fun, overcoming those challenges.

Also I remember playing Tomba on PS, Sab reminded me of that game too. True old school players will enjoy in SAB, and for others… I guess whining it is =).

Alex KidD and Psycho Fox were both kitten games, when viewed critically. Alex KidD had terrible, floaty control and an abysmal level design. Psycho Fox… well, I’ll just leave the rest of this at “The Master System was awful at platformers.”

Dude, different skill level, different opinion. Both his and your opinions are equal.

Personally I love world 2 alot more because world 1 was really really easy, World Zone 3 was the first zone I actually thought, oh hey, so it does get more into a platformer.
I don’t know, but I died loads and loads of times on mario, or rayman or any of those other platformers. Or maybe even Prince of Persia.

Maybe I’m way out of your skill level, because I played UT2004 puzzle maps (and really those jumps are three billion times as hard as this hopping from ledge to ledge.) But World two is not that hard at all.

Back in April I wanted to see more of world 2 because the jumping there actually required some skill. And really, I haven’t seen any super pixel perfect jumps in normal mode at all. TM , geez, some of the jumps are just another level of annoying.

I’ve completed each and every Mega Man title (in every series). Zelda II. Pitfall. Super Meat Boy. IWBTG.

I assure you, this update is infinitely more IWBTG, a game designed expressly to be as hideous a game as possible, than anything else.

Slingshot is the answer.

The slingshot only works when the enemies are on PRECISELY the same horizontal plane. And even then, you can basically flip a coin.

I read you the first time. My point was, it’s a crappy way of doing progression. Making everything super-grindy to get and then “give” you events where you can ease the grind.

It makes no sense, at all.

Sounds really fun to me. I really can’t stand farming and it’s not like I was making huge profit before with dungeons, etc. So now I’m even more left behind?

Well not really. Now that we have seen what the ascended weapons require, the only thing that might take a while for you is the leveling to 500.

We don’t know the drop rate of the T7 materials yet, but in any case you should look forward to be able to craft your ascended weapon doing various stuff at your own pace.

So no sweat. Those who grinded their behinds off will of course get their ascendeds faster, but we are not talking about months of difference.

Well unless of course the T7 drops are horrible and those with loads of gold can just get the refined mats off the TP.

I can guarantee that, like some of the existing mats, the T7 drops will be horrible and those with loads of gold, a.k.a the cash to P2W, will just be able to buy whatever they want from the TP.

what’s REALLY annoying the crap out of me is the bloody RNG nature of which maps pop. for instance, if you check http://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/Scarlet%27s_Minions_Invade!/history#29_August_2013 you can see that on some days, zones popped back to back, while others only popped once during an entire day. currently, i just need sparkfly fen; however, it never seems to come up during hours i’m awake. i’d love to camp here and afk through it, though that chews at my craw, since it’s more natural to me to EARN what i’m doing … but if sparkfly is only popping once, and that’s during sleep time (yeah, need sleep to work!), then i’m just sol.

this is REALLY annoying and frustrating! days off, i’ve spent every waking hour checking, and no luck.

This. I need Iron Marches, and it is one of the two or three zones which has appeared the fewest number of times. Hell, it only appeared ONCE a day or two ago, when Sparkfly showed up twice in a row.

I was playing guild wars 2 Clockwork Chaos living story one day, when someone asked “Who’s bright idea was it to have the event in one zone at a time?” the answer was “ArenaNet!!!” and we came up with saying to ArenaNet THAT THEY SHOULD PLAY THIS GAME THEMSELVES SOMETIME! so here’s a forum topic for suggestions to arenanet to make this game better than better

First suggestion: No more kitten ed RNG-based achievements.

I would like to thank ANet...

You know how in typical single-player games (primarily shooters) you get to a spot where you’re presented with what is essentially a pile of gimmie ammo, health regens, new, better weapons, etc.? You’re then funneled through a one-way path where you’re immediately bumrushed by a hundred enemies and six bosses….

Well, I had a personal suspicion—which I mentioned several days ago in another thread—that this windfall of loot was a setup for something to come that is designed to require massive amounts of gold to accomplish. In a move to forestall as much of the inevitable whining from players not having enough shiny to do/acquire the next big shiny the absolute instant it’s possible, they dump easily acquired phat lewts on us in anticipation of…

…the massive outlay of coin that will be needed to craft Ascended gear. Granted, much of the componentry (I scoff at dictionaries!) will require grinding dungeons, JPs, WvW, etc., but a lot of what looks like will be needed is T2+ mats. A. Lot.

They did just recently warn us about a shake-up in the GW2 economy. Well, now most of us can handle some of it much better than before. Well played, ANet, well played.

Then again, perhaps it was just to mollify some of the existing “I can’t make any gold in this friggin’ game!” bleating. Who knows. I, for one, don’t find this sort of content particularly interesting and didn’t bother with anything beyond what I needed to get the sex-bot tonic. One thing it did accomplish is to bring a lot of people together on a common goal. Umm, for a few days. Then it was just completer vs farmer. Well, nothing’s perfect.

WTF are you talking about with “…mollify some of the existing ‘I can’t make any gold…’” nonsense? How exactly is causing the prices of everything to drop through the floor supposed to help with that? There’s been a blanket 25% drop in market for nearly everything, so it isn’t just AS hard to make money, it is now substantially more difficult.

Besides all the bugged events with no mobs spawning of apearing under the floor, and the massicw nunber of champs in aetherbalde events

getting a miserable shoupder scrap because i cant get a single hit in a event in the last 2 minutes despite being active for the hole event realy make me feel sad

PS: more Iron Marches Plz, timberline fells, spark fly fen and dredgehaunt cliffs are comming up too often

Yes. This. What the hell is the deal with never getting Iron Marches? Every other hour seems to be Gendarran or Spark Fly Fen or Mount Maelstrom.

Is Scarlet still going to be trying to teach us a lesson while we are going back to school? I know alot of the previous living events have been overlapping into the newer ones so I do hope this one will as well.

Here’s hoping not, the farmers are having a godkitten ed field day while everyone who isn’t farming is going to be screwed as prices keep flying upwards.

Why do people want to win the event?

RvLeshrac.2673

The reason this thread even exists is because ArenaNet chose to design the content in a way that allows reward seekers and content seekers to work independently.

What should have happened is either make all aspects count towards the event completion, or limit rewards to success (i.e. take out the champs and send more elites, then increase the bag drops from winning).

What they SHOULD do is completely eliminate the possibility of any reward unless the event is completed successfully. No drops. No XP. No Karma. Just a huge reward at the end.

This is also why they need to fix the stupidity of losing all reward should you be disconnected after participating in the better part of an event.

Seems like it’s just endless running only to die in a couple of hits. Not really much skill. And, the first team to get the most power ups is just going to roll the other team.

Wasn’t the Winter one was better with the different roles in it? I dislike frenetic button mashing PvP like this.

Yeah, this is just nonsense. Whichever team loses a player first loses the entire match.

My friend bought the game "used".

He that owns the key, owns the account.

If the key cannot be used when you purchase and activate it, you should file a ticket to regain the stolen account. You have an invoice proving your purchase, I assume.

I’d avoid mentioning anything about it being “used,” however.

You know BWE players were advised to clear out the existing data right.

I’m aware. And if I have issues, I’ll probably do that.

None of my issues with the game have been technical, though. :I

So the solution appears to be either:

a) Removing the corrupt files, whichever those may be, from your system
or
b) Removing the application causing the issue, which could be done with a Restore Point.

Shocking that what we’ve been saying all along has resolved the problem.

it shouldn’t be 17GB.

It is ~17gb if you’ve been playing since the final BWE. There are files which were never removed.

Is this a different driver to try? Is this one supposed to have the .inf that is missing?

Update: Having the same issue: http://sta.sh/017m4114l21v

I don’t understand this all that well. But maybe it can help?
https://forums.geforce.com/default/topic/513621/installer-cannot-continue-the-graphics-driver-could-not-find-compatible-graphics-hardware-installer-/

That works as well, since for some reason they’ve removed the INF that was used for the pre-modding. Just follow it slowly, step-by-step.

He has a bad texture. 197186 is a 256×256 texture. A -verify or a -repair should fix the issue, eventually.

If it doesn’t fix the issue, either the .dat will need to be copied out, will need to be rebuilt, or he’ll need to file a support ticket.

You all have different files which are bad. One of you has a bad statue model, one of you has a bad sea-floor texture.

And I think OP has a bad Kodan.

I understand why we are crashing, the real problem is that the verification/repair process is not downloading and fixing the bugged files. Because of this, we keep crashing.
Your solution is to repair, well i have repaired about 20+ times now and i have deleted the entire dat file and redownloaded everything from scratch, that dint fix it still.

Then you need to determine what application on YOUR end is corrupting the file, because the vast majority of us don’t have this issue.

This game is pretty fresh. All of us in the forums with problems, We are all the pioneers right now. Just gotta hang in there and keep trying. I’m sure in time it’ll all be figured out as we keep failing and fixing. There are some pretty affordable machines that can make this game amazing and a lot of high end rigs are messing up also. I hope we get the low fps thing figured out.

How can we tell if it’s an official arena.net or gw2 staff post/poster?

Anet staff have the red watermark/call-out on their posts.

Mini lags when fast turning the camera?

The drops, and how far they drop, are related to how fast your CPU and drive access are.

This is the answer, coupled with the amount of video memory available. The framerate drop when turning the camera is due to resource loading.

Hey RvLeshrav! I am having the EXACT same problem as this guy and i have done absolutely everything i could think of find on the internet… Its really annoying! Ive even tried your steps but nothing works Is there anyway or anything you could think of to help?
Thank you

Tried re-downloading the GW2.EXE and replacing your existing one?

You can also try a -verify and a -repair.

After that, not much left but re-downloading the whole client.

I noticed an Issue last night. It seems the new battery I got from amazon does something different then the old battery from lenovo.

The new battery from amazon will shut off directly after I unplug the A/C adapter.

The old battery from lenovo will stay on and the charge meter will start rapidly going down, and in about 3 minutes the machine will shut itself off.

So I got a picture o the 2 batteries in case you can detect the difference? The old battery from Lenovo is on the top. The new battery from Amazon is at the bottom.

Picture: http://sta.sh/067edv4w1r1

I also tried putting the old lenovo battery back in and tried playing the game, still got a shutdown within 15 minutes of being in the game. I even tried playing with no battery and on my own private plug in a section of the garage that gets the highest voltages.

Still shutdowns.

I really wish I can figure this out! Still cant find the INF to change.

Thanks so much!

The new battery is probably bad, if the old one functions in the system. If you can, try and return it/exchange it for a 56-59wH battery instead, that more closely matches the original. I wouldn’t pay for a new one or anything, though.

Not sure why you’re missing that INF. You might try downloading the desktop drivers instead. Won’t hurt to try them.
