Could be amazing with the recent changes of unload.
still doesnt solve stacking or imbalance. it’ll just be like seasons where everyone stacks into same guild (server) to get rewards. no difference
I disagree.
if you limit guild size than yea but people stack servers now and there’s no rewards… add rewards to that. explain how people wouldnt stack?
people are always gonna stack to win, no one likes losing.
if you are counting on players to balance themselves, good luck.
I don’t understand with the stack issue you’re brining up. The big WvW guilds have been moving in and out of different servers since the beginning of gw2 release. It’s been like that forever.
As for the balance issue, all tiers look well balanced these days.
if you don’t understand how stacking is/ has been an issue in wvw then you clearly dont wvw enough.
thats how you get powerhouses like BG a couple months ago when anet wisely opened it or maguuma with 5 big NA guilds now while most servers have 1 or 2. Fighting an overstacked BG and Maguuma for weeks pretty much destroyed TC. pretty much all of TC’s major guilds are gone or maybe you remember when 4 large T1 guilds piled into YB and devastated Tier 2 and left SOS and FA to suffer for months after.
but sure it’s not an issue. as for balance i mean all those posts about unfair matchups and linkings i guess are just made up
How is TC getting destoryed BG and Magumma’s fault? What about Jade Quarry? What about other tier 2 and tier 3 servers like SBI that can compete very well at tier 1? Nothing can work out perfect. Anet is doing well controling the server population.

When entering WvW borderland, players will choose which guilds they want to represent for the week.
By the end of the week, the guilds with the highest impacts will be announced and rewarded special WvW rare skins/items that last 7 days.
The game is called Guild Wars 2. Representing a server is a cool thing, for people do have pride in their own servers. However, at the end of the day, I felt like the guilds doing the hard work leading their home servers to victory arnt being recognized and rewarded properly.
Thoughts?

Have you considered finding a raid guild that is active when you want to play?
I kind of want to do pugs runs.
If people find it to be the golden time to play then if they wanted to raid then they would. If you can’t find a group for what you want, start one, I’ve lead groups as late as Sunday with pugs and they fill within minutes usually.
Well I guess it’s just my timezone then. Don’t you still agree that it’s hard to find groups on Saturday/Sunday?
This may become even worse depending on your timezone. If you don’t play GW2 at reset, it is extremely difficult to find a group to raid. Especailly on Saturday and Sunday, it’s even more difficult to spot any groups in LFG tab. I strongly believe that many players find Friday-Sunday the golden time to play GW2…
Any thoughts?
From the way my guildies were talking, raids are definitely much harder than t4 fractals. I do not have opinions on that, since I don’t do any fractals. But I assume they are right.
Yes, raids are harder. However, I have yet to see a raid boss in GW2 that truly deserves the description “hard”. So far, I’ve experienced 9 of the boss encounters and even Matthias just seems to be roughly equivalent to a medium difficulty ele pair from Wildstar, for example.
For me, who’s been pugging 100% of the time, Matthias was VERY HARD. Good healers will make things easy, but it’s not easy to find healing ele.
Slothar was another tricky boss that tormented me down.
My personal experience is that raids are actually easier than fractals. Fractals are less punishing, but also less organized and structured. Attacks, mechanics, and functions fly around randomly like you’re in a hurricane of madness. Raids are very punishing for small mistakes, but the times when you need to make the choices aren’t random. You know when the VG is going to split, you know when Gorsy is going to erode the world, you know that Sloth is gonna roar after his tantrum.
So anyone can learn to raid, whereas fractals are much more subservant to RNG and chaos. That said, the chaos of fractals will rarely instakill you, so you can weigh it off against one another.

I’ve been raiding for little over a month. I find myself struggle at tier 2 fractals. So, there you go. I am an avergae guy.
[…]This makes me cry. I’m pugging through T4 fractals regulary without issues even when 3/5 of them are performing… not so well, yet getting a single raid kill seems out of reach for me.
Guess it’s due to the 10-ppl req. design lowering a single players influence to success close to zero :/
Nash, no need to cry. I have very little experience in fractals. That’d prob be why I am still somewhat clumsy at high tier 2 fractals. I haven’t been doing much fractals because it’s not fun at all. A month ago, I was flat skin noob at raiding. I did not even know what LI stands for. Since then, however, I have been putting A LOT of efforts and hours training my butt. I will tell you, this was not easy. I am now finally starting to get some regular raid boss kills. For the record, people use meters in raids. They can tell very fast if you’re not performing well. If you dare to make one simple mistake, they usually won’t hesitate much to insta kick you out of the squad. I have been there multiple times.
I still have to train for Xera. It will be another 20-40 tries or even more until I finally get the kill. I cannot wait for the journey ahead of me. I simply enjoyed the process of me getting better at doing what I was doing.
As a relevant aside….
It blows my mind that so many pub groups struggle through bosses without voice chat when they intentionally waste DPS opportunities with full healer Druids and multiple Minstrels Chronomancers for ‘safer’ runs. The bar for success in a silent raid encounter is so much higher than a voiced run because it takes a level of awareness that very few pubs are really capable of. Sometimes you’ll get lucky and get ten of those extremely great players in a full pub, but you’re really stacking the deck against yourself by hoping for that.
Seriously, some players are really solid, but might not notice when certain mechanics are happening, and all they need to go from “good DPS but misses mechanics” to “correctly does everything” is someone on TS/Discord calling what is happening. This applies to so many fights, from calls of poison at Matthias to bomb calls at Sabetha to even where the tank wants the next shards cleared at Xera.
You’re making things harder on yourself by insisting on silent runs. Just create a temporary Discord channel and bark out mechanics and you’ll see much higher success rates across the board.
This is why I vote for implementing in-game squad voice chat.
What do you guys think about implementing in-game squad voice chat? This can be a huge change to WvW, Raids, World Bosses, etc.
With Discord being free and so easy to use and share with people I would think it quite a waste to put time into an in game voice chat. Also, if there were an in game chat system there might be more pressure to use a voice chat, which is something many do not like to do. So basically there’s not really a need, it’d take a lot of work, and it’d probably cause a good amount of people some frustration. I’d rather they not bother.
Well, okay, you do have a point. I suggest setting the default mode as voice chat muted. I feel like in-game squad voice can be very useful in GW2 from many aspects. Giving out discord/ts addresses and passwords and granting access do take some time. Take a look at DOTA2 for example. A static team will use discord. They want to be highly competitive. If you’re playing with total strangers a.k.a pugs, in-game voice chat will bolster communication. WvW and Raids and all the other events that involve squads formation will naturally become more competitive place.
I’ve been raiding for little over a month. I find myself struggle at tier 2 fractals. So, there you go. I am an avergae guy.
As of now, I’ve killed every boss except Xera. I got wiped more than 50 times at Vale Guardian until I got the first raid boss kill.
Wait, wait, wait… you have killed all the raid bosses save Xera after one month, but still struggle with tier 2 fractals? uh, ok…
How does that even begin to make any sense? In any event, that is definitely not “your average guy” for sure.
I am not familiar with fractal boss mechanics. That’s why I am struggling. I was basically new to raiding and fractals.
How much uninterrupted time do you need for each attempt? How did you finally got into a group?
I am not sure what you mean by the uninterrupted time. If you’re in a training group, you’d want to make as many attempts as possible regardless of getting wiped. That is the best way to learn. I don’t believe briefing the boss mechanics is needed. That’s wasting too much time unless it’s semi-expereinced group that may have a chance of killing the boss. When I am commanding the train run, I usually ask people to read dulfy’s guide and you’re ready to roll. You will learn yourself by making tons of mistakes and getting butt kicked. This is why I mentioned dying more than 50 times at VG until I got the first kill.
I’ve never got into any static group. I did pug runs only.
A commander alone would have hard time teaching. Best approach I’ve seen is to take new players in an existing, experienced group. Technically this is what guilds should be about. But how to encourage more people to do it is beyond me.
For the voice chat – there’s TeamSpeak and Discord and people already use them.
“In-game” voice chat can create difference.

I do not believe raiding needs EASY MODE. It is designed to be hard, thereby more rewarding. My only issues were accessibility. I found it very difficult spotting training groups.
There are indeed a lot of players willing to learn. However, there are only a few commanders willing to teach at the sacrifice of their own time and resources. They don’t get anything in return. I hope Anet can find a way to encourage more train runs by rewarding those friendly commanders. They are truly worthy of the raiding community.

I just want descent sized massive battles. 5v5 isn’t big enough for me. I want it to get little more hectic. Can you implement this in unranked?
I am not attracted by WvW anymore because obvioulsy the devs don’t really care about the mode.
It’s technically HoT map. Can you beta test this for a few weeks (like you guys did with the field cannons a few months ago), and see whether players like it or not?
What do you guys think?
Considering how difficult it is to craft the legendaries, I think it should be little more rewarding than just being able to change stats and awesome looks. How about 1% movement speed bonus? What do you guys think?
When healing as druid, I feel like Zealot and Shaman can be much better choices. Magi’s precision doesn’t seem to contribute that much. Vitality is meh, it helps you to survive. Also, I found myself overhealing quite often with too much healing power stats. So I am currently using Celestial trinkets, which works for me. I want to hear your opinions.
Any thoughts?
I joined the escort group for raid.
One person immediately started to accuse me of being an abusive player, that she had told me she would never forget me. One of her friends took her side. They initiated votekick on me.
Shortly after, they decided to leave the squad, because I didn’t get kicked. I whispered one of them. He actually had no idea who I was. I’ll attach the screenshot of our conversation. I was kinda left speechless. Why are you guys doing this?
I know I should just move on, but it really did feel like crap. The squad got dismantled after the drama. I felt responsible. I guess I should take a short break from GW2. On the bright side, I have met a lot of friendly players who were highly supportive of the newbie raiders like myself. I had so much fun with them and I will never forget the excitement of getting the first boss kill of my own. It felt legendary.
Thank you all.
Do all bosses have some kinds of boons all the time?
What are all possible ways for thiefs to grant area stealth to allies?
Also, Shadow’s Embrace: Remove conditions periodically while in steath, does this affect the allies granted stealth by us?
(edited by Ryudnard.2587)
I foud that running PPT train is not much rewarding at the moment. It will eventually get flipped back. Can you consider making it INSANELY HARD to get the towers/keeps/castles? This will naturally make the WvW more competitive place.
Create a waypoint at towers when fully upraded. Teleporting into the towers is allowed only to those who contributed in claiming/defending/upgrading the towers.
I’d also like to ask to implement a panel showing how individual players contributed in earning WvW points, like that of sPvP, at the end of every skirmish. The players would like to know who’s on the top list roaming, scouting, killing, and commanding. We can commend those with the highest impact by tipping them badges of honor.
Okay, the initial title was: “I feel bad about the devs”. It’s been changed to “Desert Borderland Map”.
I didn’t do this.
Say, we focus on getting Vitality+Toughness+healing power just to tank everything. Do we still go down fast by standing on the red circles?
They must have put in years of efforts creating the red desert borderland.
Is 100% the maximum?
My venom duration can go way over 100% with the food, and was wondering if this is efficient or not.
P/P is only really a tolerable substitute if you’re running power Daredevil on green circles in VG, and even that is pretty bad. If you’re a condition build you really should be in melee range or you will lose a significant amount of damage. Send your elementalists, condition warriors, condition rangers, and druids instead and you’ll have a much better time.
Full zerker P/P theif may work in raid?
When thiefs are signed up for greens in VG… is P/P good option? I think it has descent damage even when running Viper.
Unload the 4hit out and swap out to dagger/staff something that has good auto attack. Does this deal good enough DPS?
Do tankers need concentration stats? For the most part, I was just wondering if mesmers keep up the quickness 100% of the time while raiding.
If I apply the sigil x2 to both of my daggers, will it be +40% poison duration?
I think we get about 1~2g every round. You can literally recruit anyone since it is only tier 1. If you don’t feel like doing anything but simple grinding, just start advertising fractal 10 farm. It is for those who cannot be at 40 fractal due to gears and given the gravity of the meta obsessed problems that may make you nervous.
I was chilling and chatting, and I think I made like 18 gold or so in like 30-40 minutes.
I started advertising my group as “VG need everyone”. It was trainingish group.
I played healing druid. My gears were mixed sets of exotic Magi + ascended Celestial trinkets. My attempts were to heal my allies and at the same time deal some DPS. I ended up doing 3.5k dps so that was very little.
In our group, there were 3~4 experienced veterans. We got wiped about 5 times. It took us little more than an hour to finally get the kill.
Do not feel scared of joining raid groups because your gears are bad or you do not have any experience. I started my group and asked someone else to tag up. He more more experience. He led us through.
Will you then play the map?
I just wanna be at the vanguard and play tanky at WvW. Is Nomad the best stat for me?
I played my theif and joined VG experienced group as a DPS.
My gears were not full Berserker. It was combination of some exotic berserkers+ other useless craps that do not boost up DPS. I had like 1500 toughness so there you go.
I have no clue about the PvE meta. I just used whatever build. I just followed commander’s order and did what seemed to be the right thing. I got the raid boss. Got the spirit run as well. It was very fun.
Thanks guys.
I get insta kicked many times when trying to join a group as a DPS theif. They ask me to change the class.
Just curious. Why?
I remember in WoW they even had 40vs40. I enjoyed that A LOT. That was a long time ago. What you guys think of implementing 10 vs 10 ?
I don’t really think sPvP in GW2 can work well as an eSports material. It is time to drop it. Alright, I was going to post the kitten ideas, but something came up. BRB
Apply the WvW rule. It would be chaotic fun.
I don’t think there is any stats focused on P+F+CD viable in PvE. Is there?
I heard that getting high precision stats (i.e. Rampager) is not efficient in dungeons because it’s fairly easy to maintain 100% crit with fury and some other buffs in PvE.
What’s the ideal precision for dps?
So as I dodge, it casts caltrops. I’m trying to see if it stacks infinitely to the boss. As long as I can dodge, I am doing a lot of condition damage.
Rune of the Dragonhunter
I had two celestial trinkets. That affects that much?
The group was advertised as in need of condi ranger.
A condi ranger doesn’t use celestial trinkets, it’s a rather specific build, with set gear, traits and weapons.
