I am one of those that don’t care what class or what type armor someone has. I like people in dungeon groups who are fun and not mean to others. Play what you like and find like minded people.

I love the races in the game. More races would never hurt as more is always better, but what we have is very nice.

They will come in time, of that I have no doubt. I hope when it happens 100 players with bunny ears bounce all around you Wanze. Even you will have to smile.

It does die rather fast, I have to bring my elementalist and use ice bow to have any chance of doing enough damage to it.

You aren’t asking for an improvement to the system, you are asking for things to be handed to you without the effort others put in for the same item.

I am just curious how our server can have a queue, yet be so grossly outnumbered at the same time on EBG. There are no guilds doing roams, no groups not accounted for, yet easily 2-1 outnumbered. How does population balancing work (or fail to)

Personally the fact female asura wear male armor is the reason I made a female asura. There aren’t really any armor sets where I prefer the female version but that’s just my opinion.

Well I think Asura female don’t need sexy armor, but wearing same rags as males is dumb. The new set with a butterfly is pretty, then you see Asura, its a mummy wrap. Since this game seems to be about armor skins I would think they would hire someone more creative to make them for Asura. We seem to be an afterthought when it comes to creative design.

Seriously, does the person who designs Asura armor hate Asura and not want to see the race played? The armor for Asura is pathetic at best. I am so tired of being disappointed every time I see pretty armor, then see the same set on an Asura and see how ugly and ill thought it is.

What do you do, troll people to get a negative response and then run to the forums? You seem to spend an inordinate amount of time on this subject. While I agree some people get really abusive, it is also true that people intentionally try to incite that abuse. There are many instances of the map where the event is not being farmed, usually to be found using the LFG tool. Why not do that rather than worry about how others are enjoying their time?

Recount is a terrible tool which only makes a few players feel ‘exceptional’ and leads to others being insulted or kicked from groups.

There are many map instances, if you wish to do the event to completion and the map you are on is being farmed, change instances. There are so few ways to earn gold in this game, so why remove one of the few remaining efficient means. I would think Anet would enjoy the increased sales of bonfires and boosters that countless people buy for this farming as well.

Well you could be fighting Desolation this week, its not bad enough that they have round the clock zerg from hades, now they are working with another server in the match to ensure them second place. I hope some serious changes come to WvW soon.

Dawdler, I am in a WvW guild that does guild raids nightly, and I enjoy it alot. But we tag up and let pugs follow us if they wish as it is a public map. I feel it more important than ever to do that as the season competition is underway. Guilds that go it alone for group play do so at the expense of others is my point.

You know a raid isnt a guild raid if its a pug raid. That’s generally why guild raids dont work together with others.

And if people cant stand alone and fight for their guild… they probably have no reason to play the game anymore. Fighting for your server may sound nice and all, but I’m guessing most peeps are in it for the glory, not the server. There’s a reason why guilds jump all over the place.

A public map with limited slots is not the place to conduct guild only raids, it hurts everyone else on the map. If a guild wants ‘guild only’ events, they should do it elsewhere.

I really find it counterproductive to WvW when guilds refuse to unite with others on their server to work together against greater numbers. The season is upon us and yet guilds are going it alone, and that is hurting the entire WvW community on their respective server. This is the time to unite to fight for your server, not stand alone and fight for your guild.

This event in Dry Top has been broken for 2 days thus blocking progress on Living Story. It is a silly event in the first place, and to have it bugged is frustrating. Just remove it if cannot fix it.

Now that you have added many colors, a nice feature, how about the option to hide them as well. Every map is now a rainbow of people who think spending 100 gold is such an achievement, worthy to be seen by everyone. I realize in WvW you can join squad to hide other tags, but who wants to do that in PVE and in every map.

I would be very careful about posting on GM actions and bannings on this forum. In most games, it in itself is an actionable offense.

Branden Gee post only confirms my concerns… they do not have a clue about their game. I’m sorry for Branden but if he is a developer and needs to spend time coding and training then its not his job to think. The game designer (not the developer) should be the person 20 hours a day inside GW2 to understand the game and not let decisions like go through. This is not the first time ANet toss something out that shows their lack of knowledge on the game.

And this shows that you know nothing about development. Good developers are constantly honing their skills. Languages are constantly improving and good devs have to keep up with that to remain relevent. I work for a company that just hit 300 people, of which more than 80% are developers – Java, .Net, PHP, etc. The higher level devs, the seniors and leads, are always working on something, always looking at the new technologies, checking out the advancements in their languages and in others to see how they might be applied to their own projects in a beneficial way.

You post makes no sense and you actually says the same I said… (and I already programmed my first video game and working as a game designer for my second one though I don’t need to give you any info about, just letting you know im not randomly saying this) if he has to do all that, then he should not be the one proposing changes. The game designer should be the one behind the changes, not him. I don’t even know if he is the one who proposed it but in any case, devs to code, designer to design… and this game has very good devs but very bad designers.

I think part of the disconnect here is the terms “devolper” “designer” and “programmer”.

While the devs (developers) do work on the programming aspect, a designated programmer (i.e. Branden Gee) wouldn’t have much, if any, input into the design, but would specialize on one aspect of the game (i.e jumping/dodging mechanics, aggro distance from mobs, event spawn timers and areas, etc.) and the designers would be the ones who come up with the ideas.

In conclusion: Heavy armor players strongly depends on cloth more than metal to build their ultimate armor (?) considering ascended as the current ultimate armor. Changing the game in a way that won’t let heavy armor players get said material its not a good idea from any point of view.

They can buy it! Hopefully it will result in the price of the metals they get to rise in value as well, giving them a source of income(since clothies won’t flood the market with it now). I don’t want to see any player hurt, but think in the long run it will beneficial. It is odd though that plate crafting would require so much cloth, that should be addressed.

You have a very odd definition of “very little”

I get about 100 silk a day, playing 3 hours a day. that is 75 days of playing just for the silk under current conditions. Imagine if you can’t get silk drops… it could take you a full year to get enough silk.

I think the cloth armor requires about 33 percent more, which is considerable.

Actually, there are more ways fairly reliable ways to get cloth (as much as RNG can be considered “reliable”) Much of my cloth I gathered was not due to slavaging. Bags, salvagable cloth item (i.e worn garment, rag, etc.) map completion actually gives quite a bit, and karma can be used to get cloth

Of course we can infer that it will effect armor, but until we get a clear answer, or see it in action, everything is a knee jerk reaction and pure speculation.

Please enlighten me on the karma way of getting cloth… btw, I have 7 lvl 80s… and still think its a horrible idea. Conceptually, it shows their lack of knowledge on the game and its truly concerning.

Yes I buy those as well, but not so often. I still have millions of karma but doing the mystic forge method is so boring I want to cry. I wish we could just salvage the initial item and not have to convert it. I know it would hurt prices but they need to be hurt, just too expensive now.

Can white items bought from vendors be put in the forge?

I have never tried, though I would imagine not.

I think backpieces that are not wings, plants or other odd contraptions but something more normal are a welcome addition to this game.

I don’t see myself using them but they are a nicer change of pace from all these back items that make no sense for you to have on your back whatsoever.

I love my Dwayna Wings! But really in this game the wings and plants and oddities have a place and fit in nicely with lore and aesthetics. I just wish the other backpacks weren’t so large, in WvW zergs it is annoying to have the camera blocked by Charr with huge backpacks.

I just want bunny ears. Not too much to ask for.

All games become stale, take a break and do something else and then return. I was gone awhile and upon returning I found a guild more to my play style, with such fun people. Now the game is more alive than ever.

As a cloth user mostly, I am in favor of profession loot. It costs so much more and takes so much more resources to make cloth armor than it does the other armor types. So clothies could use more cloth drops to salvage. I think it would better though if weapon drops were exempt as the market is very lopsided on those.

In all games, it is all about the friends. GW2 is beautiful but if you adventure alone you will be lonely. If you find the right guild though, it comes alive and is something you look forward to logging into whenever you can.
