The cooldowns are on the thief abilities because thieves can easily and often do specc into precision giving them 60%+ crit chance. The cooldowns exist because thieves SYNERGIZE better with on crit effects.
What most likely happened is during testing none of them had cool-downs then theives were nerfed while warriors and elementalists didn’t need it.
For PvP D/D is great but I would also consider speccing far into shadow and having your offset be P/D. P/D is an extremely versatile weaponset that deals great damage wether you specc into raw damage or condition.
For PvE S/P is the best for dungeons and shortbows are amazing for world.
Read my posts, some are funny some are constructive some are informative. We just need less posts like this and more posts about thieves.
The biggest problem with venomshare right now is that almost all the venoms have abilities that stack duration and get overriden. Obviously increasing the max duration of the abilities would make venomshare too overpowered for PvP so another solution I would like to see is adding an effect.
Now for balancing issues we can’t attach this extra trait directly to the venomshare so I think it could be added to the Deadly Arts Line. (Fixed because people were getting on the topic of whether or not extra venoms are good rolls eyes)

Hemotoxic Venom:
Inflict Bleeding (5 Seconds) when triggering a venom. This can only occur once per strike.
OR
Dermotoxic Venom:
Deal Damage when triggering a venom. This can only occur once per strike.
The duration of the bleed and the exact damage would have to be fine tuned but that’s what testing is for. This would also make any venom-share builds into taking 30 trait points in Deadly Arts and Shadow Arts, leaving only 10 points for other things preventing the build from having too many advantages.
In Conclusion:
Mull it over A-net, it just might be what your looking for. These changes are simple, fix several problems in PvP and PvE, and are based on KNOWN programming that A-Net has already done (so many good ideas on here would just be a nightmare for the programmers.)

Its the new fotm ele build. Running into it a fair bit. Has very high regen, which counters a condition build pretty well, plus a fair amount of DPS. Given that you use d/d as your swap, why didnt you set up the burst and use d/d to finish?
I actually did later, we had 2 more skirmishes but at the end of the 2nd one fraps droped my framerate down to 3fps and I died so I had to turn it off.
For round 3 I went back in with Evasive Roll and Swapped to D/D as soon as he blew his healing cooldowns. It was a learning experience for me. That stupid lightning ball escape is REALLY hard to chase down though, I would have killed him twice in this first round if it weren’t for it.
Scootts taking on 7 enemies of various levels with at least 1 level 80 mixed in.
Not so much SPvP competitive, but knowing how to deal with blobs in WvW is very important…
Shout out to Miles Forrester!
He told me himself that glass cannon builds countered him. I used to play a glass cannon thief but found this much more fun and much less situational. Also, 360 + 62s is the damage before I start stacking might from stealth dodging and venoms. My crit chance and damage comes to 34% and 50% making me do double damage 1/3 of the time.
I do think your right however, I’m just not getting the damage I need to take down the tankier/heal enemies quickly.

I talked to them after the fight, their main stats were Power, Toughness, Healing. I think it’s a great build and I’m leveling an Ele just to try it out <3

First of all, anyone whining about the chests can kitten its designed to pay for the game and as a money sink for the economy.
On to the events:
Food fight stations total confusion, ghoul costume is OP for the fighting, no explanation of when you get rewards but i’ve seen people get as high as 20 crowns with nothing.
The search for the pages event is glitched, theres no little girl ghost which is leading to MASSIVE confusion.
Carving pumpkins appears to be broken too cause I’ve carved 6 now and the NPC doesn’t say anything different to me.
As much as I would love to explore every single map in Tyria… again… for all the jumping puzzles and ghost doors and the new dungeon… no…
Going to bed, hopefully kitten sorted out in the morning.

I got on a few hours after the switch and blue had 100% of the map (not including the random camp cap)
It’s clear that blackgate still has some bite in it where as Henge and Eredon are completely full of carebears.
Good luck to Blackgate trying to make it to teir 1, but to be honest everyone knows that all the real WvW competition transfered off of ET and HoD long ago, it’s just gonna take some time for our system to send us to the bottom of the bracket :P
Gear synergy is a very simple concept to understand. You will find that some skills effect each other multiplicative while others are only cumulative.
Multiplicative stats, such as Critical Damage and Precision, both increase your DPS, but there is an additional effect where Precision making you crit more often, makes your Critical Damage more effective and vice versa. ( 3 × 3 = 9 )
Cumulative stats, such as Vitality and Healing, or Critical Damage and Power, do not have significant interactions that synergize. ( 3 + 3 = 6 )
Here is a simple chart showing you which stats synergize well with others and which don’t. You’ll note that Condition Damage and Precision only synergize slightly due to “On Critical” Weapon Sigils.

(I’ve been looking for possible opportunities to jump through invisible walls to see what lies beneath the world and I got my opportunity inside Mount Maelstrom while trying to take a shortcut over it. (Apparently the middle of the mountain is just a dropoff. By using Infiltrators Arrow and Decent of Shadows (And a revive orb) I was able to land inside the ocean that lays beneath the maps of Tyria!
One thing I noticed right away is the music immediately changed to an eerie underwater theme. I’ve Also found several ruins, I’ll continue to post screenshots as I explore
