But lets ignore that for a moment. I am not sure if your/my Dmg-Formula is correct, I’m unable to reproduce your numbers with your stats.

In any given amount of time T [in sec] I’ll regenrate Tx1.212 initiative. Thus, I am able to use Unload Tx1.121/5 times. Unload has a channeling time of 2.25 seconds. That means it will take T x 1.121/5 × 2.25 seconds to channel all the Unloads
-> T – T x 1.121/5 × 2.25 Sec left to use Vital shot. Vital shot has a channel Time of 0.88 sec, so I’ll use (T – T x 1.121/5 × 2.25) / 0.88 times VS.

According to your Calculations, VS deals 339 × 3.15 = 1068 damage, Unload deals 2032 × 3.41 = 6929 damage.

DPS = 1/T x [ T x 1.121/5 × 6929 + (T – T x 1.121/5 × 2.25)/0.88 × 1068]
= 1.121/5 × 6929 + (1 – 1.121/5 × 2.25)/0.88 × 1068
= 2105 Damage/Second

You lose about 1000 DPS if I remember correctly, it was pretty terrible, you gain a lot of damage from the power and exposed weakness.

rune of affliction+ krait gives 30% bleed duration increase
sigil of agony gives 10%
20pts in DA trait gives 20%
so total bleed duration increase is 60%, but tick work at full second increment so a vital shot should only yield 6ticks. Did you consume food to get 100% duration for 8ticks?

Blind on stealth trait plus tactical strike is extreme cheese mode in PVE. Immune to everything the NPC does to you, provided it can be blinded. Because of this I’m always the last person to die in dungeons/fractals even in full berserkers equipment. Even if I won’t like it, I still wanna know. :p

I shall include a build that drops 20 points into stealth, but again, you won’t like it…

It’s going to wait for it… Warriors! GS HB -> Whirlwind -> Axe Eviscerate does [I think, please prove me wrong] the highest number in the quickest time. With frenzy, it will win by a mile.

However, that number at the end is what I would love to see.

Actually heart-seeker spam below 25% is the highest number in the quickest time :X with haste.

And yeah, I watched some dudes video about this CRAZY DAMAGE necro build that does MASSIVE hits, but the build did like, no dps, he just cut and pasted his nukes and as like WHOA 16K HIT GUIS.

I’m Thinking Dagger/Something with like a 30/10/0/0/30 build and going into death shroud until you hit 50% is the way direct damage goes?

Under 25% Health:

• one 1658 HS every 2.28 Sec = 727 DPS from Heart Seeker.
• one (1989+1232)*1.2=3865 C&D BS Combo every 4 Seconds = 966.3 Dmg from C&D+HS

Never spam HS in PvE. And play 25/30/10/0/5. You won’t be able to spam C&D every 4 Seconds if you don’t. Fury and might from Tric Trait is usually not needed and +3 max initiative is 100% useless.

I’ll look at the Math later but looks fine on the first look.

I found out where I messed up, for some reason I had natural int. regain at 1.66 instead of .75.

So yes, heart-seeker does seem to be terrible :/

It seems like you don’t need the initiative from steal either though, so I’m tempted to toss that into Deadly Arts for the extra power.

1. Thank you for reminding me, I forgot to include it’s life steal damage, and yes it does.
2. 4000 dps is very realistic number for a condition based build, that being said I have listed the Positive DPS modifiers that will make the DPS number appear higher then it actually is, I always try to balance them out with twice as many negative DPS modifiers though.

3. My xls was terrible it was 5am, I cleaned it up.
4. I am always a student, but also a teacher. If you have information to share, then share it.

Order of Avacyn [Hope] Is a small guild on anvil rock. We met in game and play every night. We do dungeons and fractals, we help each-other. Some of us dabble in WvW for fun.

We recently dumped a bunch of time and money into aquiring guild missions, and are looking to show that small guilds still can have a place if it’s players are skilled.

We use Vent for dungeons and are casually coordinated so communication is important.

We would like 18+ members only HOWEVER, if you lie, and are mature enough that we don’t notice, there shouldn’t be a problem.

If you need more details just whisper me in-game, I’m pretty accommodating to anything since were small.

I over reacted, we’ve been running CoF P1 so much everyone had extra gold and dumped it into influence.

2g for 1000 (60g for the upgrade) Influence is pretty cheap.

My thoughts is, if this is content made for large zerg groups, chances are talented groups will prob be able to accomplish them with half the people. No one should be freaking out.

Btw if you ever want to truly compare speed running and viable party comps like in GW1, I would suggest not using an edited run so people can compare the time it takes each group to complete the dungeon. If you want to edit it for a guide then whatever, but if you want to prove superior damage and speed then you should also upload an unedited version which should be very easy.

Maybe someday I’ll upload an unedited speed run video (I’m farming for my Dreamer so I’m spending a lot of time in pugs). The video I have posted is more to explain mechanics and to show people what they need to do, it is a beginners guide, and is not even close to a good representation of a Thief’s abilities.

The way we run with 2 Thieves is with an Ax/Mace/Longbow Warrior and pounding banners. Keeps all 5 party members up to 25 stacks most of the time. For vuln we use a variety of things including skale venom, Mace#4, Thief Traits, and 1 GS Warrior’s 100b.

From your video (and combat logs would be easier, dem bleeds are hard to count)
I clocked you in a total of 110654 damage in 7 seconds. That’s 15808 Burst-DPS.

What were the 275s that kept popping up (counted them) but I don’t know much about warrior traits.

Prob the most accurate way to do anything would be to run side by side in a dungeon run and compare total damage for the first and final boss. The first boss dies so quickly that the extra Thief DPS is only really noticed on the final boss.

You can ignore the 275s if you want, that’s from procs on omnomberry pies.

Also is there a reason your warriors run longbow? That is a terrible option for CoF 1 where you don’t need to range. If they want to run Axe/Mace they should be using a 1-handed offhand on swap to not interrupt their auto attacks but still get the benefit of adrenaline and might on swap depending on their build. I use Axe/Mace + Axe/Axe but I admit that for CoF 1 GS + Axe/X is superior because of the short nature of 2 simple fights.

Lol I never noticed that the pie proc actually showed up. Only 1 of the Warriors run longbow, and Axe/Mace is for the final boss. I’m not too concerned about finishing the first boss off in 10 seconds instead of 7, as much as I’m concerned about cutting time on the final encounter.

It’s not as detrimental as you might seem, 1 warriors 100b is worth having 2 thieves with 25 stacks.

His idea of building might stacks is use Flame elementals lava fonts + blast finishers to spread to party when I asked how his “thieves hit 25 stacks of might” which is significantly slower than 4 FGJ + Signet of inspiration.

Actually it’s Warrior’s Longbow ability and planting banners which you have plenty of time to do while the boss is still green. Get trolled.

Yes, all damage is mitigated through teamwork and utilities.

High end groups use as much damage as possible.

Also, Shortbow does more DPS then the Longbow even if your running a direct damage build.

I don’t agree with Scoota’s claims about Thief DPS, but those ARE the two best dps weapon sets for a thief in any place where you will never use a ranged weapon.

You will soon, me and a guildie are working on side by side comparisons for thief and warrior, were covering axe/mace, 2hs, 1hs/p, d/d, with and without might on the thief. Combat logs are just tedious and counting thieves guild and ambush trap’s damage is even more TEDIOUS. I’ve been asking random Warriors for their combat logs and I’ve seen a pretty steady 10-20% higher dps from my thief (not including ambush and Thieves Guild). Could be inaccurate though.

Also… I ONLY have a Thief… Wut u mean never play da theifs…

I have been playing my Thief in dungeons a lot lately myself in organized guild groups and the only time they have better DPS is when the boss is below 25% and they can go into heartseeker mode to get 40-50k damage in about 3 seconds. Below 50% the auto-attacks are comparable to an axe warrior, perhaps a bit less. Above 50% the warrior is significantly better.

I’m not anti-Thief, I just think that under perfectly ideal circumstances the DPS is similar. However, the loss of party-wide utility makes a Thief seem undesireable. If a Thief had overall strictly superior dps, I would argue for bringing one but tbh, switching one of three warriors to a thief is an overall party downgrade.

Your problem is your auto-attacking, you need to be doing the CnD-BS rotation.

First of a few updates are up, I’m re-detailing what each class needs to do. A lot of Thieves i run into are still using Assassin’s Signets and a lot of Mesmers are trying to use Force Push on the first 2 mobs.

Was gonna fix the entire thing, but it’s 5am and rumor has it there is a dungeon “re-balance” tomorrow.

It’s the party make-up for dungeon farming, you find the easiest fastest dungeon, you go pure DPS and just pound the bosses as fast as possible with omnombars, you can make a buttload of money.

Interestingly enough if you look at the top dungeon players, it’s the same way high level DUNGEONS are run too, you just end the fight as quickly as possible.

High level fractals are similar, but you usually use a guardian for support instead of mesmer, and the DPS heroes are Enig (vuln) , Necro (condition), Thief (pure dps) Warrior (banners)

Also, today we killed the first pull so fast that the boss bugged out and never went red……

You use whirlwind INTO the gate key so that all 16 hits land and you don’t move. Gotta aim it perfectly.

/sleep and zoom in all the way, then crop your video a but smaller
or use a wall to force the camera on top of your character
