Defiance shot some people over to SoS today to take a look around and give a good fight during peak times lol. We made sure that we were on the same zone as the Defiance on TC. Good times.

The resulting conclusion was that Tarnished Coast has US and Euro Timezones covered and only needs Oceanic. SoS is lacking Euro and US which will leave gaps where they will lose everything even if they get US guilds.

The other conclusion was that even though we have 200 members and are very experienced we would need at least 3 200 person guilds to make a real difference because at US Times servers are expected to be queued everywhere or GTFO.

This left us to the conclusion that SoS should send some people to TC so that we can move up in the ranks as the only gap we have is what you can provide.

It wasn’t a thread they started, just how the guy starting this thread was talking about how RUN was trying to recruit people from SoS to TC originally. Thing is, their guild ticked off too many people in TC and found it was simply easier to leave and find another ‘home.’

RUN had another thread about coming back to TC after some experiment in SoS. Sceptus, it wasn’t a falsehood. Just more confusion from RUN’s server flip-flopping.

The problem with TC coming to SoS is that SoS has like zero RP community and we RPers… love our RP. It helps us make light of such situations as the titanic grub moments we sometimes face.

Indeed, I would -love- SoS to become stronger. When I did forgo sleep one night, fighting their primetime crew was a blast. I learned a lot. It’s sad that they are getting infiltrated by RUN.

We could care less about RUN, more like trying to help SoS know the snakes they are bringing into their bed.

Then that’s a hack, all I saw in the OP was mesmer portal.

TC has lost our bay keep several times by mesmers. First, we thought it was an exploit, then we realized how crafty our enemy kittens were being.

Now when we take it, we do a thorough sweep and have several patrols for awhile making sure it’s clean. This added a new level of depth to the game. It’s fun.

Stop getting angry over losing a battle, learn the tactic and counter it. I love how this game was designed overall and believe many share my sentiment. Though you likely won’t see them on the forums, too busy having fun in game.

Not sure that’s a hack, that’s a mesmer portal… and one of the reasons it’s critically important to clean a keep of any insiders. You leave a dead mesmer and an alive thief inside, yes, the thief can rez the mesmer than make your hard earned victory melt to dust.

This is not a hack, this is game mechanics and something that makes WvWvW. It’s unpredictable and an instance where two players can make a HUGE difference in a game with armies of hundreds.

There is a counter too it with game mechanics, not coding, therefore not a hack.

Ah, good to hear! I can think of more than a few players that are glad Anet is working on it. Many of us believed you all were, but silence gets worrisome. I know I’ll share the news with my comrades. I think many servers are trying to report their own hackers too, WvWvW is too fun to let a few cheaters spoil it.

Alas, we do not have the names of enemies who flyhack as they are simply “invader.” And those who flyhack are often far above the ground where we cannot target or click, they also combine it with a speedhack which makes them too far to get a bead on them.

The system was a game launch mechanic meant to help friends find each other and to stabilize populations, it was never part of the WvWvW mechanic. They’ve said, check the dev tracker and patch notes regarding the move to the 24 hour cool down. WvWvW was meant to establish camaraderie with one’s server, however, fighting side by side with other server soldiers against rival servers. Everything about the game is designed for collaboration, not desertion. When people work with each other, beautiful tactics come together and many people win. When people work against each other, they break easy, lose morale and often times lose their battles.

Check your logic.

And if the publicity you want is that others on SoS know that you will Benedict Arnold as soon you see an opportunity to win elsewhere, then you are very mistaken on what good publicity is in fact.

I think Keripo handled this thread quite well. While I’m not on any of the servers, from a PR background, I do have to say bravo. I think that was an eloquent way to respond to something others may get hostile about.

A record of server hopping is not a good one. Any player on Sea of Sorrows should be cautious of building relationships with them, they may leave if they find a place where winning is easier and more guildmates can get online, then you’ll be left with a sudden vaccume as they take some of your PvPers and ruin any time spent investing in partnering with them.

Plus we got them roleplayers, you know, we won’t be leaving Tarnished Toast at all. Honestly, it would benefit the WvWvW more if Sea of Sorrows combined with us. Then we could take the fight to Dragonbrand for sure!

Floxxx here! These guys are top notch and don’t take no bull kitten if you know what I’m kitten-ing saying. Haha. They are serious in combat, but don’t take themselves too seriously. People in this guild remember that it’s a game, one to win, but also have fun in as well.

I would highly suggest them for anyone looking to win the field!

Lol. You guys get bent over kitten for no reason. On my server during a 24 hour match, we started losing our entire side of Eternal. When my guild tried to find out why, we realized our entire server was at the grub.

Did we rage? We thought about it for a moment. However, we decided to have fun with it. We RP’d it up since TC is the unofficial RP server.

After we killed that grub, we rallied with the huge zerg with epic cries of “For the Grub” and consequently retook our entire side of the map as well as Stonemist.

Learn to work with your server instead of against it, might prove more profitable.

Glitching to win need to stop, like, yesterday. Players should help in policing this- it benefits nobody long term, lest of all the hacking team as GoM quickly found out.

We’re in the third match, I think people just need to give the system time.

I can’t count the times my thief has dragged a zerg into siege fire and laughed my kitten off as they all died, trying to down a fully geared 80 in shadow ops and acrobatics. With siege, 1v20 can turn into 5v20 where the 20 loses easy.

If one thief being invis stops 250 guys, then they need to learn their AoE buttons. lol. We theives are invisible, not invincible. At the NW supply camp in Borderlands, I can drive a zerg nutty by going in and out of stealth every 20-30 seconds, because masses often panick and are easily juked. The current stealth mechanic is fine, zergs just need to get more coordinated.

What about when two servers dominate one? I mean, it’s far-reaching to talk about all these problems that WvWvW apparently has… when we are only in opening matches of the 1 week tournament. Seriously, how can we be qqing this hard without at least a couple months of seeing how this system works and develops? kitten Free transfers haven’t even stopped yet, we have no idea how that’s going to affect the system. Hopefully for the better.

Thanks guildwars. My guild pretty much sticks to the SoS Borderlands because we believe you guys are the biggest threat. Our commander was doing some work on that place for the last six hours-ish.

This kills me, people are still believing TC ever allied with Mag? Lol, we’re practically Browns and Steelers as far as I’m concerned.

Seriously, Tarnished Coast. When you guys are good, you are real good. I think we need a thread of screen shots from some of our epic battles. I wish I would have gotten one of that battle on Sunny Hill where the entire zerg lead by Madember had two trebs, six ballistas, several arrow carts, all securing our victory in the north.

The Sea of Sorrows Garrison fights weren’t bad either.

I don’t know that we are on the level of some of the bigger guys, but I feel as if we are quickly getting there. Can’t wait to see how some of our WvWvW alliances pay off in the future.

I think it’s really kitteny they banned Akadios in that youtube video from the forums for whistleblowing however.

I play a level 80 and love this game to pieces. I also have a character slot with every profession and several mid-level alts.

Am I just a blind-sided fanboy… or is it possible that some people love the game, despite its bugs?

While doing some things around the house, I’ve been trying to support the forum community in bringing attention to this. It’s not that we want GoM to suffer, it’s that we can only team on GoM to make the hacking less beneficial. (as much as one Shadow Legion guy in TC and represent any real “we” in a game of thousands.)

It’s an unfortunate consequence that many legitimate players will suffer from the minority, but the only action the opposing servers can take to diminish the reward of hacking.

It’s slightly annoying, but I lol. When SoS takes over during their primetime, we TC folks were plotting on ways to try and make their takeover more difficult and how to support our smaller Oceanic presence.

I thought TC moved up past Maguuma in the ladder last match-ups (or do I have my servers mixed up)? kinda strange a server higher in the ladder would have quicker que times. I thought the higher ones had longer que times naturally from people who transfer to winning servers

TC has a growing night time community though, some Oceanic folks have fought our primetime people while forgoing sleep and have decided to support our night efforts.

But yes, TC did move up in the ladder. I’ve noticed a lot of alliances and coordination appearing within our server in the borderlands and in eternal.

Hopefully a fix is implemented within the week with some sort of post by Anet on how it won’t happen again, that way we can go back to the glorious three-way slaughter fest. I enjoyed fighting Sea of Sorrows for awhile, they have some great tactics. However, I won’t fight them when there is a server that has players, it appears from that youtube video even entire guilds willing to benefit from it.

There are several threads where this is talked about. It’s really bad for GoM as in TC where we were, there was a lot of rallying cries of “kill the cheaters, down with the hackers!” This small group of flyhackers is turning a lot of hatred towards them. If they do it next week, with two weeks of servers making threads and posts about it, can you imagine the sort of double team GoM will face? People will be posting in the team chats and map chats to focus on GoM’s keeps just so there is never a place to put the orb, making it a constant 2v1 in whatever bracket GoM happens to be.

As someone who has lead quite a few fights against MAG from Tarnished Coast, I hope Mag wins here… just so I can slaughter more of them. For some reason, I just love going after Mag players and guilds. No real reason for the “hate,” just love the battles we have.

Email arenanet’s team, send them tweets, let them know that you don’t enjoy a few hackers turning both servers on you in WvWvW. Right now, there’s what, 20 forum posters and how many players in the game? It’s hard for them to see it is as something they need to address when they have a lot of other paying customer’s concerns.

Yes, it sucks. But the only thing a lot of people on the opposing servers can do at the moment is focus on GoM and make the hacker regret using their game breaking tactics to win the match.

I wouldn’t say to judge the entire server. But the players who are benefiting from those cheated orbs, you can bet I will be leading every attack force I can against them.

Agreed. Banning people that are speaking about this exploit/hack will not make the problem go away. People will simply take to Facebook, Twitter and other public places to spread their rage.

GoM has invulnerable keeps due to invulnerable keep lords from hacking as well? IF not, convince your server to abandon the keeps and let SoS or TC to take them. The orbs will at least be reset at that point. From then on, I don’t know. There’s not a lot that GoM can do as a playerbase without ANET’s support to redeem their server.

Well, that’s just silly. Unless they want to see how mad two servers can get at one just due to one player (maybe a few). They are sacrificing the reputations of an entire server’s worth of players just to sit back and watch what happens.

I’m fine with holding our keep, tower and supply camp in TC borderlands and just attacking GoM non-stop until their hackers are hung from the highest mountain in WvWvW.

Tarnished Coast (Floxxx) here and personally, I won’t be leading forces against you for awhile. Gates of Madness and their hacking has me ticked off something fierce.

We should send a copy of this thread to the bugs/ exploits forum. Maybe ArenaNet IT guys are looking in the wrong forum and the community managers for WvWvW just have no idea what to do?

I play a Shadow Ops, Acrobatics/Tricks Thief. I don’t do a ton of damage, with a lot of power on toughness/vitality gear from Invader epics, I do enough to take down a treb or other siege weapons on walls with cluster bombs before an enemy can efficiently zerg me.

Staying fluid is key, stealth is not invulnerability, so juking enemies and making them think you are going one way while going the other is crucial when at a 10 to 1 or more ratio. Often times, large groups will get annoyed if they can’t catch 1 guy and move on… allowing recon troops to keep doing their jobs.

Oh man oh man. Tarnished Coast vs Ebay vs Mag during Peak Hours has been blood baths galore, siege going up all over the place, upgrades….cannons and mortars firing from different places. So fun. The score seems to be keeping some from logging in on the losing servers, wish they kept coming in, the first few days were a blast!

Floxxxy from The Shadow Legion here! I saw the alliance posts at the start and laughed. Them Mag’ GOONies and we have been slugging it out for a long time. When EBay came into this mix, we barely blinked as they approached. We fought them GOON whenever we had the chance, granted fighting for hours at Greenbriar in EBay’s borderlands and in the ruins got boring after awhile.

Still! Mag and TC have a history and during peak times, we still give each other bloody noses whenever possible.

I stepped into the Eternal Battlegrounds tonight and watched as all three servers repeatedly butchered themselves in Stonemist for over an hour, the blood! It was glorious.

Anyway, I hope TC doesn’t get separated from Mag for long, I enjoy having a constant rival to go up against. I just wish they didn’t seemingly give up as soon as they did, it felt like we soon had much more numbers and MAG was simply demoralized or not coming in during peak times like they were.
