Well I don’t know what’s up, but dungeons are starting tokitten me off. It’s not so much about difficulty, but more about execution and balance between paths in rewards for the time spent on them.
But right now the most important is this. If it ain’t broken… don’t fix it. Actually HotW was already broken with at least 4 major bugs listed below that I had to report, but this one is special.
- Some Claymore guys walk trough walls
- Random dogs spawn on the Troll encounter without AoE
- Random mobs sometimes appear/teleport on the waypoint killing people trying to get back just as they spawn.
- When killing a balista you get stuck under it.
-THERE IS NO END BOSS AND NO FLOOR IN THE BOSS ROOM. You can see on the picture that I went trough thekittenfloor and even if I could go in the room the boss isn’t even there.
Come on Anet I love you I love this game, but fix what was broken without messing more stuff up…

Well I’ve done a couple of EMs really, only 8 paths total, but even with that small sample it’s clear to me that there is a problem with rewards.
It does absolutely no sense to get as much rewards in a dungeon path that takes 2 hours as a path that takes 30 minutes. It’s so ridiculous and frustrating the only thing that comes in my mind is D3 inferno style because that’s what it is some path I swear have not been tested or something.
I really like the path you took by fixing some easy andkitten paths especially magg runs (shame on everyone who has CoF gear it’s meaningless), but right now you need to focus on calculating the average time paths take for the best 10% player and set the rewards accordingly or w/e the solution is.
I WANT TO PICK PATHS FOR FUN and get rewards according to the effort I put in each path I pick NOT CHOOSE 1 PATH BECAUSE THE OTHER PATHS ARE NOT WORTH IT.

This is a decent dungeons it’s hard but doable. I never died on subject alpha. If something has to be done it’s certainly not it this dungeon.

Axe is the dumbest and weakest weapon in the game all professions included.
What’S it’s use ? None
1 Skill, Hit like a wet noodle so other can hit a big mighty 10% harder… I’d rather have 100% with a real weapon then a total gain of 50% damage in dungeons. It’s so dumb it’s amazing how they thought this would be good.
2 Skill. It’s just weak there’s nothing else to say.
3 Skill. That’s the dumbest kitten idea ever it’s a joke. Retaliation is such a dumb idea. The skill cripples people so they don’t reach you yet we get a boon that requires to be hit to work… So it only really works against range and guess what ? It’s harder to hit multiple ranged to stack duration than melee so you will do good for a big mighty 6 seconds if lucky.
But seriously the biggest problem is damage, I can stack 6-8 stacks of might, 10-15 of vulnerability and still hit like a paraplegic dwarf baby kitten.

What I noticed here again is people mixing PvE and PvP. The necro is fine for me in PvP, but lacks a bith in PvE. I used to think otherwise, but then I geared in power crit and realised we suck. It’s amazing the lack of options we got when we want to go power/crit builds.

Totally agreed and as a conditiomancer I usually don’t get kill rewards because I can’t apply bleeds fast enough to get enough dmg before the burst warrios and others kill the target.
Also this is an objective based game not PvP, badges should be awarded every EVENT DONE ESPECIALLY DEFENSIVE ONES.
Then the idea of using so much money to upgrade while asking people to make huge amounts of gold for legendaries simply cuts the amount of people willing to pay for upgrades by a HUGE margin.

Funny Navi how you bring anecdotal evidences while complaining about me bringing it and worse, you are bringing baseless assumptions like when you claim that I play with random trash . Seriously if anything what you proved is that I wrote something bad and you did worse :you blamed for it while doing the same thing.
You showed theocrafting by saying other professions bring a full coverage of boons and conditions, if you played as much as you said you did, you would know that it just doesn’t happen.
Also to Aura, stop reducing conditionmancers to just bleeds. There’s much more than that. And really you should take time to read posts before posting garbage. Everything has been explained in my previous posts and I certainly won’t take time to repeat it to you.
Finally you guys can reroll whenever you want It seems the devs who have been playing this profession for years think it’s fine like I do. Also changes, if they come, are probably gonna be insignificant so bye !

Collin I read your posts and it’s such a huge relief. I absoultely do not want you guys to nerf dungeons. Actually some need a buff. Atm I’m farming HotW EM and some bosses are way too easy like the Khodan and Troll champions.
Also JESUS CHRIST BUFF CoF Magg path. It takes 10-15 minutes to do it and it’s RUINING dungeons runs because everyone goes for that and barely anyone wants to do anything else.

Is it just me or does it seem like the OP completely overlooks the fact that all professions bring conditions and in many cases they are far stronger and/or more accessible than ours.
There is really no reason to bring a Necro to apply conditions while everyone else pew pews away when you can bring 5 professions that will give you full condition coverage as well as boon coverage and damage that a Necro would not provide.
With the way the game is designed a pure support build is not comparable to a build that can deal damage and still provide the necessary support (boons/conditions/control/combos/utility/etc.).
You seem to forget that Necro can do it without losing damage too. Bleed damage ticks between 117 and 125 for me atm and I got weak gear so it feels like it’s good damage and great AoE.
Also sorry, but you seem to be using just theorycrafting. However, I’m using my experience in dungeons (50 hours or so) and so far, it tells me that most people got damage builds and don’t bring any support at all and worse, they die constantly while bragging about the 6-10k crits they can’t land because they die so much. I’m much happier staying alive and constantly keeping 10 bleeds up on every target than I would landing a few big hits here and there and dying so much.
So no I really don’t think other profession bring the necessary support of conditions and boons you’r talking about right now and if people someday start thinking about support a bit more I’m fairly sure we would still have a nice little niche.

Techinically you can use Axe 2 skill twice change weaps, Syphoon then DS Life Transfer for a good damage.
Personally I’m about to craft myselft a full rare kit of daggers, staff, armor and jewels since I’m maxed in all these disciplines and I will try pwoer builds a bit more since I’m failry sure people give up on power builds before 80 and don’t gear for it. Plus while leveling it’s hard to evaluate power builds since they are more gear dependant.
Personally I already saw a few possibilities and it’s looking good especially if they buff back the boring and slow Axe.

Two things reallykitten me off with the Axe.
The number 1 skill is slow and weak. The speed is totally unfun and dumb and it was fine in Beta and it needs to go back to where it was. Also being stuck doing ridiculous damage so that you can have a burst skill with 10% more damage is such a bad idea I get mad just thinking about howkitten that dev decision was.
Moreover, the number 3 skill doesn’t make sense… at all… Why would you cripple people and get Retaliation… it means half the people, the melees are gonna be too slow to attack you thus won’t get hit by Retaliation and if they are ranged, well chances are you won’t get retaliation from a lot of em with the weak range of the skill and cripple won’t change a godkittenthing. So it turns out to be a weak cripple against melees and a weak retaliation agaisnt ranged…
Also it’s just a terrible damage and only good to get yourself attacked by neutral mobs when fighting stuff.
Most importantly tough the Axe is by far the most boring weapon the Necro has by a huge margin except maybe compared to the dumb Warhorn.

Well the 1 second duration is really lame and should be uped to 2 seconds.
But can the Warrior use his fear when stunned or knockdowned? Because I can with Doom and I do it all the time, it’s extremely usefull.

Ouch so many posts talking about pvp… This is a PvE thread sorry.
I will agree that stacks of bleed hurt Necro alot, but it’s not just us it’s condition builds in general and in fact, especially the burn and poison builds.
That being said, it doesn’t really mean getting a bronze all the time. Also, events are really easy and in terms of PvE, things only matter in EM dungeons where Necro can really shine.
It’s amazing how some boss fights can go with perma Chill or how amazing Weakness is when you take a glancing blow of 5k damage, which would have been 10k. People like having protection for a few seconds and a weak regeneration that ticks for 150, but they don’t care about 50% less damage or a boss that can use his devastating skills way less often ?! Same thing can be said with perma poison agaisnt bosses with regeneration or vulnerability stacking with a heavy physical damage party.
Boon removal/transformation is also a pretty good asset. Some bosses will have good boons like might, fury and protection. For example, there is the Eye of Zhaitan in Orr who stacks 25 stacks of might and fury then starts destroying people or a boss on HotW that has Protection all the time. (Not the Butcher.)
Like I said I think the Necro has a lot to offer in terms of condition and it’s not just the classic condition mancer that should be called Bleedmancer. because it’s just what it does. It seems to me like we can choose what debuff conditions to apply and easily stack it on anything (except weakness on bosses) as well as removing boons so easily.

I wish people would start seeing Necros as what they are really. It’s sad to see so much QQ that has all a thing to do with damage and pvp. The profession has so much more to offer….
I know we may not be the best damage, but it’s funny how people love Guardians when they give you boons, but nobody notices Necros permanently stacking Weakness on trash, Chill on bosses and Vulnerability when they choose to not to mention Epidemic that greatly helps when focusing fire which is what is always done in dungeons. This usually means you take aggro, but Necros can take hits. It’s also funny to see people waving Guardians fully healing a party every 180 seconds when we can heal an infinite amount of people for 2.6k every 40 seconds.
I have to agree that a few traits don’t work, the Minions are worthless and a few skill tooltip don’t work properly, but I’d say people may want to start thinking outside the box for new ideas on what Necro can do and excel at that is not necessarily about raw damage.
Also, fun is a major aspect. This is a video game jesus people are palying it like if it was a real job trying to min max and stuff, it wont happen I know, but just have fun the profession really is fun to play.
