Yeah totally agreed, right now the main reason I don’t farm Karma is how boring it is. I even try to farm gold in dungeons cause I’d rather do that than being stuck in the terrible region of Orr. No other region in a game has gotten me that bored so far. I was expecting an epic end game zone and what I got was the boring kingdom of repetion and countless ccs by the worst idiotic mobs you don’t even want to face.
I used to say GW2 is not a pvp game the pve will be awesome with Orr and all ! No it’s not.

Maxed Arti WS Tailor and JC and yes it’s a waste of time. With the very very low amount of stuff you can craft, the market is floded by crafted stuff with low value, you can barely make any profit out of anything especially when considering how much you need for a legendary.
Of course you can craft yourself some stuff, but really youcan buy it for same price or cheaper usually.
Oh yeah talking about legendary weapons, well you do need disciplines for the gifts.

The dps of the staff and the Axe are depressing as hell. No surprise there.
Seriously who is the kitten who thought thata miserable 10-12 stacks of vulnerability could make up for the huge damage loss when you attack with an axe. Doesnt matter if you’r whole party does 10% more damage per player if you do 80% less damage then you would with a condition build.
It takes god kitten 10 people in WvW and an excellent coordination to make up for the miserable Axe damage.
Arenanet what have you done to our Axe it was fine in beta and now it’s a joke.
I seriously haven’t seen a Necro with a god kitten axe in kittening 3 weeks.

It IS a strategy, it’s just you doesn’t have the enough experience. Learn to wipe clean your base & double check before you defend it. You don’t come complain because your base got wiped by a mesmer portal caused by your own mistakes.
Casue obviously you can see invisible Mesmers and constantly AoE an entire position of siege weapons to be safe right ?

This game is so disappointing in WVW it feels broken. The rendering issues and night capping are horrible yet something bugs me even more.
This game is based on strategy and siege weapons. There is a wide choice of siege weapons with roles, ranges and counters and it feels great. Arrow cart against people attack, batistas in choke trebuchets when they got catapults defending.
Overall it’s fun to have a siege warfare it creates huge battlefields and it looks epic. The best thing so far is how siege is balanced. You can try to put 2 rams on a door and take it fast, but if they invested in Oil and a catapult behind the gate you will need to invest in a catapult too. Then if they get a trebuchet or a mortar to destroy your catapult you will need your own trebuchetss etc or maybe even a golem on the door so that he can hit inside the blank spot of trebuchets and mortars.
Sometimes you will need to defend these trebuchets from enemy attacks by investing even more in arrow carts and well placed balistas and they will need more siege weapons too.
But then all of a sudden a Mesmer, one single Mesmer with one single skill can teleport and entire army in your siege weapons and focus them. It doesn’t even matter how hard you try to kill them, they are doing a suicidal attack and that is so worth it. They are investing 0, absolutely no supply, no badges, no money except for repairs I guess and they can destroy an army of siege weapons worth a ton of supply, badges and money.
I have a question for Arena Net is this seriously how they think this game should be played ? Because right now it seems like that only way to take something is just ram the doors fast enough so the enemy can’t mass to defend then portal or use trebuchets from a tower… I’m so sad this game had so much potential for strategy and awesome playstyle, but it’s far from it…

I’m sorry ArenaNet but this is embarrassing. I can’t count how many times I wasn’t able to finish dungeon runs due to the massive amount of bugs in this game. I know it’s a launch so I usually don’t complain. For example Necro have been in a really horrible spot since launch with all these buggy traits and skills, but I just waited.
This is just a poor decision really because I understand that you can have a buggy game on launch, but if you know that you got bugs, and I know you do, why are you punishing people for your mistakes ?
Right now you can run a dungeon for an hour and end up with a buggy event and not be able to complete and since there’s no tokens in chests anymore we get absolutely nothing…

You are expected to farm for this. While leveling 2 profession who both use fine mats I had to farm 3 hours per tier. It’s not a whole lot tbh, but it’s there.

Yesterday I did a bit of testing with my glacial cores to see how long it would take me to get 100 glacial lodestone.
My first observation is that I looted a miserable 15 cores out of the 200 I need in enough run to get 1000 tokens. At this rate, I won’t even have a quarter for the cores I need once I get all my tokens for the whole set and the Gift of the Sanctuary….
But the point is the bug right now. I transformed 4 Onyx Cores into 2 Onyx Lodestone and by looking at the prices of Molten Lodestone I can assume, without being sure, that the amount of supply of molten cores from the huge amount of people farming CoF explains the molten lodestone low price.
At the moment, I spent a good amount of money yesterday transforming 12 GLACIAL CORES, into 6 CHARGED Lodestone. Is this a bug ? It would only makes sense for a gift requiring 500 tokens from HotW to also require 200 cores from that dungeon not to mention other cores apparently transform in the right lodestones.

5 ppl performing at 100% is better than 1 at 20% and 4 at 115% just saying. Axe is so bad that even with Vulnerability it’s still terrible. But that is only single target, when AoE comes into play the Axe becomes totally useless.
Also Vulnerability is almost totally useless against bosses which are the real deal in dungeons as they take forever to kill.

To those stacking Carrion you forget how weak heals are. I used to roll Carrion with a big mighty 28k hp, but my heals were still way too low despite 200 healing power. It was bad to the point that I would actually spend entire boss fights at 50% hp or something despite using corruptions to heal myself for more.
So yeah rabid is pretty much necessary. Personally, I crafted 3 Carrion jewels and 2 rampager rings to go with a rampager back then I am set on picking 6 rabbid armor pieces in HotW. Rampager is pretty good considering we use power/crit for staff and daggers for example. Combined with trait line and Rune of Undead I will pass the 1500 Toughness mark and I know it’s not perfect, but I think it will be a nice balance between my main stats.

I agree 100%. When I see what has to be done for a legendary, everything feels right and a good idea, but one thing makes me sigh and desperate, the random factor and the huge amount of mats required.

I just read a long post from a dev that was basically saying their servers have too much work to do… I’m curious about the proportion of server power that is dedicated in mainting useless does and flies everywhere.
(Btw I don’t want ogres, dredges etc removed, just neutrals like oakhearts and does)
Two other reason could be brought to remove the mobs :
First they are annoying as hell. Sometimes the only factor in winning or losing a 1vs1 is who is gonna accidently hit one or many mobs…
Also neutrals are nice and make the pve world feel alive, but this is a battlefield. If you saw pictures, movies and interviews about war battlefield esepcailly WW1-2 it’s that there’s not a whole lot of life left when siege weapons start raining hell.
The main reason, if it really helps, would be performance really. Rendering is a huge issue right now.

I’ll say this tough their damage is ridiculous and then if they think you stand a chance they pop the ’’Iwin’’ riddiculous button called Thieve’s Guild.

Nope very good weapon for both Thieves and Necros. With 1400 condition damage I actually do a lot more damage with Dagger/Dagger than Scepter/Dagger. Guess how.
It’s funny because they give us a line with precision and condition damage, fury on DS, Enfeebling Blood on DS IN MELEE RANGE, Bleed on crits and Bleed duration yet people are focused on either full conditions or full power/crit, but they don’t mix crits and conditions lol.

Once again, I said that the CoF looks great, but I must repeat that I am talking about the look, the skills and dedication, not looks alone.
The problem is in the skills required and the time spent compared to ther dungeons. I really don’t agree with you on that apparantly. I have run almost all paths myself with premades and clearly, the 15 minutes magg runs were by far the shortest and easiest of all not to mention the exploit.
So far I’m sorry, but it’s hard to take you sersiouly, no offense. Not only there is that completly fasle assumoption about all those paths done under 15 minutes, but 75 hours at only 20 tokens (to make calulation easier) every 15 minutes is actually 6000 tokens and even something as low as 20 tokens per hour is 1500 tokens which makes no sense. Personally I suggest to not exagerate to defend your gear at all cost in this debate, it really isn’t helping.

Dagger is EXTREMELY powerfull and an excellent weapons as main hand and off hand. It use almost all the time and if you can’t find how it can be good please don’t come here and claim it is bad and/or that we are too squishy to use it. It’s actually quite easy to stack a bit of toughness while permanently putting Weakness on ennemies to make you way less squishy not to mention the dagger is meant to melee-retreat-immobilise-then syphoon at medium range and redo the cycle again so you’r not always in melee range.
Anyway I really don’t see how we are squishy or wy you complain on dagger when our biggest issueis clearly the terrible Axe.

I’m not sure you know the effects or some traits you picked or how some skills fare in WvW.
50% more damage when downed isn’t that awesome. When you often get downed in a pack of ennemies it becomes really pointless.
If you want to do damage with staves you need greate marks and staff mastery before getting the 10% damage, they are simply more important.
Terror does nothing at the moment. It’s bugged and deals a miserable 20-30 damage at 80. The weakness on crit is only 25% chance and lasts only 2-3 seconds which is not a lot even buffed by your Spite line.
With the Locust Signet and Spectral Walk I don’t see why you went with speed in DS.
As for the skills you should rethink the melee golem and the weak Blood Fiend. The only time they are usefull is when you do 1vs1. Otherwise they die in zergs all the time or get easily killed by guards. A suggestion on minions would be Flesh Worm and/or Bone Fiend which are ranged, tough enough and do decent damage. Then you could pick the 30% minion damage to buff their already good damage. Flesh worm for example deals a good 1k damage so 1300 traited.
Also I would change DS speed for Spectral CD. This puts the SW CD at 48 seconds for a 30 seconds run, 36 in my case with the Boon Duration on the same line that gives me Staves Mastery and Greater Marks. This alone makes you fast enough for most cases and frees a skill spot for a minion I told you about and still gives you a nice way to be a few steps ahead when things go bad by sacrificing the Flesh Worm, or using Bone Fiend to Immobilize your closest ennemy while running away with swiftness.

I will have to say that you may be mixing the look and the skill. I agree that this looks great, but my point is that this doesn’t require skills or dedication that other dungeons require, it’s actually the path that requires the less of these which is why I call it noob gear.
Also you may think the contrary and think that this gear means skills and dedication, but I’m not sure the rest would agree.
SOLUTION :
Arena Net said they were working on fixing dungeons and rewards associated with them. If they end up fixing that, we will stil be stuck with the same problem of people having geared up much easier than othes espcially the CoF gear.
What if they made a new set of gear for Arah and CoF that requires a difffrent kind of tokens farmed only in the fixed dungeons. Of course, they would need to let people time to farm the parts they are missing if they don’t feel ashamed of it which is fine, some don’t care or just want it for the look and we need to respect that while fixing this for those who want gear as a proof of skills and dedication.

I will have to go with this. Sorry, but 6 hours in one field of the game is not enough.
As for my opinion on the matter, I’m not one of those who think black or white, I played Necromancer for a total of 500 hours+ with beta and I can see major flaws, especially a lot of bugs in the Necro, but also some great aspects.

I have seen people in full Twilight Arbor gear fail miserably at magg runs, exploits or not. The part where you have to lead magg over the lava to the crystal just defeats alot of players. And then there is the kiting bomb part……..
I see alot of people wearing this gear all over my server so I really dont think this sentiment is universal.
I’m quite surprised by the struggle in CoF for somepeople, it’s plausible, but I’m no sure if this would remain true with a bigger sample.
I do see a lot of people with that armor too. What you said kind of makes sense actually if you farm it while exploiting and you are not ashamed of that to beging with why be ashamed of wearing the armor.
Now that this is set I’m more curious about the opinion of those who don’t farm this. We already read a post saying people are transmuting for something else to not be associated with CoF and I wouldn’t want to be associated with that either.

With the Magg runs of 15 minutes and then the exploit it seems like the vast majority of people are going for this gear. Just to give you an idea ou can easily see 50 people at any time in front of CoF and barely anyone anywhere else except maybe AC. Also you just don’t see people in front of CoE lol. Those are not the best proofs, but I’m sure you all agree that CoF runs are by far the most popular.
It’s sad because the CoF gear looks really good. Back when I first saw dungeon armor I thought I could very well farm this gear, but gear isn’t just for the look in my opinion. I hope I’m not the only one thinking this way, but dungeon armor is supposed to be a way to showoff skills too. It meas you mastered a dungeon with a decent challenge and it also means dedicating time to farm the gear.

Potions of X Slaying is awesome it can up the damage of everyone by 10% and lower the damage taken by 10% too. I just bought 500 for my HotW farming because I still need more than 1000 tokens despite having the shoulders and the pants and giving potions to the group makes a good diffrence. So yeah potions are worth a godkittenlot and I’m shocked that I was able to buy 500 for 60 silver or so haha.

I agree with giving bosses more mechanics to make the encounters challenging without being cheap with more damage and stuff.

Hey they put things for everyone. Those who want it easy can stay on blues and greens and by exotic weapons then be fine. Those who want to work a bit more can craft rares or even exotics.
Then those who like grind will work forever to get dungeon armor and legendary unless your a noob piece of s**t with CoF gear from 15 minutes magg runs.

Well when you do a dungeon the first few times in EM some are hard to learn and that difficulty is fine, but once you get the bosses down and don’t get hit once by their attack, their huge amount of hp becomes boring and long as hell.
Personally I’d put difficulty up a bit in some paths and lower all bosses hp by a good 15-20%.

If you want them to look at it, tell them you speed run it in 20 minutes for 20s a pop. Then it will get some attention.
Sorry but this is not the point. I did plenty of path 2 and 3 runs too because yes I farm this for gear, but I still play for fun and it’s not fun to pick the same path over and over.
Also I hate everyone with CoF gear with a passion and I call the noobs all day as their gear is meaningless.
The point is there used to be 3 paths and now we are down to 2. Also, I totally agree with Anet trying to make dungeons equally hard, but this is not even the topic, topic is it’s broken and needs fixing.
