Scholar would still be better for both Warrior and Ranger, especially if you’re following current meta build for the classes.

Strength runes on a warrior when running Phalanx is just as good as ele’s now in pugs. I say in pugs because if your running a organized group it’s still better to have eles stack might and allow warriors to just go full damage. It depends more on the build and situation and less on the class.

Maybe but I’ve never herd of any issues. Could be a way to stem the free income from not having to pay for repairs but the player would lose out on that respect.

Scholar is still the best bet if you play frequently with an organized group. Strength is beneficial for someone who is often PuGing and has broad shoulders upon which to carry a team.

Your filters cause you to wait longer for groups then it would take to just run the instance with normal exp zerks. Stop pugging find a SC guild or something if your going to be so exact with your adverts.

I don’t see rangers being used in speedruns at all, until they fix sword autos, make frost spirit invulnerable, completely disable the pet and increase personal dps by quite a bit.

As for Nikaido, I too used to not understand why people get booted from runs, until I tried playing efficient in pugs. LoS’ing a boss more than once to get another fiery rush in? Kick. Usi.g a different (better) LoS spot pugs are not aware of? Kick. Soloing half the dungeon because pugs can’t catch up? Kick. Hell, I was seriously booted for ‘playing too good’. Or just watch my AC Wars 2 video, I got booted for solo’ing 80% of the ghost eater while others died about instantly.

That being said, pugs don’t run efficient tactics, they use something totally kittened that has about never been efficient and can’t explain why they do. Well, except for the usual ‘all stack here cuz always stack’.

As for lfg’s, ANet should really do something about that. Probably implementing a quiz the party creator can set up, which anyone who wants to join must answer correct. Basically whenever I was setting up a lfg, I don’t get more than 1 guy (if lucky) who fits my requirements.

Implementing a quiz? what? Your asking way too much no game dev would even think of putting in such a stupid system. You have to remember casual players and bad players get the same treatment as elites they allow you to advert in order to separate those groups. What GW2 really needs IMO is allowance for 3rd party programs, Give us gearscore ect. That would avoid the annoying pinging system that’s in place and Anet has more to fix then just the advert system the kick system needs a fix as well.

Also smart rangers will use their pets right making the “disable pet” argument unnecessary Anet will never remove them but hopefully they’ll improve the AI enough that they can be properly used.

That can be said for any class, smart players bring more to teams then just what the class is known for.

For a long time now, I have been very biased against certain professions in dungeons, in patricular, necros, engis, and especially rangers. As an attempt to overcome this issue, I tried to gain some perspective and rolled a ranger alt. Do you know whats really fun and really great about rangers? Absolutely kittening nothing.

Doesn’t mean their a bad class, just no one knows how to use them. Their the easiest class to level and one of the harder classes to master. That and everyone just wants to be an archer which isn’t good DPS. Rangers and Engineers fall into that jack of all trades category most players are bad but when you find a good one their amazingly helpful and don’t have bad DPS.

That being said their great in pugs to fill roles because their a jack of all trades but they really have no place in organized runs since other classes who specialize in those roles do it better. Easy way to spot a bad ranger is if their not putting their pets on passive, if their not using drakes/cats don’t run with them.

I assume unlocking exp across whole accounts and I agree. Having to do story mode for multiple characters is annoying.

If I’m not mistaken that doesn’t work in fractals since the instance head just gets transferred but that does work in dungeons.

The point is that there are no “American” language.

It does matter, and it has nothing to do with anything like basing a symbol for the “majority nation”. Besides, the great britain is still the majority, if you paid attention to school.

WELLL if we are talking the “best” classes (which is fairly subjective) I’ll give you my list based on importance.

Ele: We are good at nearly everything, we have projectile destruction, the highest DPS (when near a wall), might+fury, we can tank(idk why you would do that :/). There is no fractal where ele is a bad class.

Guardian: the big plus is the aegis condi removal and reflection I cant think of a fractal that they aren’t useful in.

Thief: if you get dredge they make it so much easier stealth is a very big plus

Warrior: High sustain DPS with no downsides and party buffs for more DPS.

Mesmer: before the patch I would have placed this class where guardian is but they’ve received a few nerfs and I’m not currently aware of the meta build. However, they do bring reflects and projectile destruction with some condi removal.

Necros: if played right a necro can do a lot of good mostly with blinds and weaknesses and have some niche techniques that can make certain parts of Fotm go faster. there usefull ness is defiently out classed by thieves though

Ranger: unfortunately rangers kinda suck in fotm. They do have some good skills reflects, small might stacking, buffing DPS, and pushing mobs through defiant to name a few. The problem with this class is the fact that they are much harder time doing well. So if you have guildies who are new or inexperienced (or just plan bad) I would recommend they stay away from this class.

engi: Lowest DPS (last I checked) mostly a condi spamer and I have yet to see an engi play their class right (mostly because hardly anyone plays engi). I would recommend any other class than this one.

Engies = 25 Vuln, Perma Weakness if their smart enough to use Skale venom, Stealth for dredge and minor team might stacking. Their a good class just no one plays them right.

No where on my post I mentioned that ANet should ban anyone. Not sure why you got that impression. I don’t think anyone should be banned….just saying this kind of behavior should get more attention from ANet, otherwise what is the point of LFG tool.

Its the nature of the beast unless someone is threatening you Anet just can’t do anything about it people are allowed to be pricks. I’d suggest forming your own group to avoid being kicked (or punishing them if you are) and if your not zerk look for casual runs.

That sounds about right. People wasting time being picky to “save” time often take longer. That’s why you only see Zerker posts on the LFG – because the non-zerk only fill up nigh on instant and are already 3/4 through the dungeon before the Zerkers even fill up.

I know some player’s would rather a longer preparation time and do the dungeon quicker – because they find “quick” dungeon fun – but players need to use their sense. You’re never getting a true speedrun in a PUG, so why try? Just take anybody that isn’t using junk Bearbow or AH Guard.

I agree with what your saying and especially in CoF you don’t need damage BUT the amount of times I’ve just looked for normal groups and got pure stupidity is staggering I post SC Zerk Exp not for the increased group dps but because more often then not that gets competent players.

Playing warrior for the first time its fun but it gets boring very quickly in PvP at least. That’s why I mostly play thief/engi now. But in PvE warrior is incredibly OP, no reason to play teef over warrior.

Same, if you don’t have an ele stacking might this build can and will cover it by taking a small hit to your dps. Assuming your using GS to help stack might, Skale Venom brings good weakness and vlun making this build even better. This build makes okay pug groups good.

You might check out into the mists, or search DnT builds they normally keep up on things.

No I don’t think the nerf was too much, it’s an aoe on a low cd that hit for 10k. If people are talking about nerfs being too strong try a condibunker build using a bow then a doom rune on it Poision + Bleeds + Fire and that damage tick from the burst is crazy.

I hate using AP as a skill measure I know all paths for all instances lv41 frac level and solo p2 arah daily but i’ve not been allowed into SCs because my ap was less then 5k. I’d be happy with a level filter though what gw2 really needs is a gear check but that would involve a 3rd party program HEAVEN FORBID.

Its sad when people don’t take time to learn their class especially with engies their traits are so straight forward. I built mine just by thinking a little but an lo and behold when I checked for the meta mine was exactly the same. Just takes a little thinking people.

I just level my alts via swapping most instance final bosses are easily 4 manned so i’m rarely told no when I ask to swap.

Yea it’s just come to a time where you need to group and fill with pugs, I’ve been in more then one kick fight with people just trying to hijack swamp rolled fracs ect. It’s got to a point where I don’t advert swamp roll in my frac groups anymore.

No I just enjoy trading items and not just buying everything through gold.

Rata sum savage leap spamming. from the first load in run past the first guy to talk to, you don’t need to stop if your quick enough, to the second then to the portal, you can get your mail for the banker during this time. kill the spawns of inquest with savage leap they cant even get to their golem’s, bring the last mob down to 1/2 (bleeds kill him) savage leap to he boss before the cut scene and you can kill him before he finishes the first attack. after that its just optimization of the path i take to map, savage leap spamming the whole way. Tomorrow ill post a video if you still want more.

I forgot to include the time it takes to make the char so tack on like 1:30 for that.

some tips: on the lowest floor no need for bridges you can leap the gap. and use the absurd amount of WP’s to your advantage (like on the second level tele to the middle after each wing)

I roll asuran warrior and run rata sum makes for 3 every 10min or 18 every hour if done right.

Yea it’s a give and take removing that feature opens up opportunity for people to harass you via the crap kicking system.

I agree with Lilith any class can do very well in Fracs and Dungeons its just dependent on the players skill. The big problem with rangers is it’s harder to optimize then a lot of the other classes but really easy to level so you get a lot of 80’s who just don’t know their class such as the infamous bear bows. Whats more important then the class? the experience and skill of the player, and of course the gear which (should) come hand in hand.

I know this has been said here before but after the wardrobe update I wouldn’t be surprised in the least bit if that farm gets nerfed since it will in essence make buying those stones unnecessary. I may be missing something from the update like trans crystals being the currency for lv80 changes but imo it’s just better to do it now just in case.

I’m wondering, especially since currently the only way to trade is via mail, if there’s a site popular enough to promote fair trades via forums like Guru was for GW1. And of course by promoting fair trade I mean fear of being blacklisted on the site minimizes people just taking your stuff and running. Or has TP just made the need for them so small it just doesn’t exist?

Title says it all I run dungeons and fractals every day and the current guilds I’m in just don’t do that. I’m starting to get sick of pugs and am looking for a place where LFG is a common term in guild chat. Experienced with every instance in the game PM me if your looking to increase your roster.
