I had a wall of text and a tl;dr but my computer shut down and so now I’ll just summarise it.

How do you beat PU Mesmers with GS + Sw/P as a d/p tanky hidden killer thief (0/30/30/10/0) I had a mixture of cavalier, valkyrie and berserker gear but mostly cavalier. Basically I get hurt by so much protection uptime and aegis and how the phantasmal duelist kinda counters stealth and phantasmal berserker hurts so much. Also the sword evades for so long as well as its burst. I don’t have a secondary weapon yet as I am still thinking which ones but so far I’m thinking about S/D to steal protection. Thanks for all your input!

What traits did Triggerless run anyone know? Gonna see and build off them to make my own build, btw I mean d/p thanks!

The first change you suggested, Base Stealth, will probably kill thief, if Anet implements this change, guaranteed we will see a massive drop in X/D thieves or D/P thieves. Most likely P/P will be new meta or even short bow spam evade thief. Pray to God this change does not happen…

Is an engi or thief better at duels in wvw so if a thief dueled an engi who would win? Ty!

If you’re zerging you should go support so you can actually benefit your Zerg. Also builds don’t really matter as much in zergs but solo roaming then builds matter…

If it’s pve then berserker but wvw you can choose any depending on your build. Celestial mainly only works on ele but it’s getting hit quite hard in the crit damage patch so I’d go with berserker.

When I went I also found an amazing thief and an amazing guardian… S+D/P+D or D+P (not sure) thief and I think GS/S+F guardian… Yeah i kept losing to them a lot and enjoying some good duels when Odinzu and some other trolls from his guild EP started killing them for no reason and they left leaving nobody in the arena…. Maguuma server is really good duelists from what I’ve seen.

Is a power or condi necro better for duels in WvW? Thanks in advance!

P/D in general isn’t OP it’s the runes. Also, facing an ele while using p/d is an easy win. You choose to use the easy runes.. Also serane kills you almost evertime, stop trying to lie on the forums.

Oh yeah i forgot YOU WERENT AT THE ARENA YESTERDAY. I keep losing as d/d which d/d ele counters. And did you know elementalist has many forms of condition clear like ETHER renewal which serane didn’t swap to for some reason as well as swapping to water cures 2, dodging in water cures one, water 5 cures another, so I don’t see how ele is disadvantaged here…

And to the dude who said hes pro at warrior in spvp I have a couple words, Warrior and I’m talking about wvw not spvp… Warrior broken in spvp…. Level a character to 80 get gear duel serane see who’s bad lol.

It’s ur thief build for p/d though….

D/p for wvw you should use 30 in shadow arts or at least 10 for the condi removal. You can also run 30 in critical strikes and 10 in acrobatics for swiftness on dodge/faster in stealth or 10 in trickery for thrill of the hunt.

P/D > all. /15char

Run p/d. Beat everything cept dem op condi necros with dhuumfire and signet of spite which are slow just stealth and run from anyway.

Um i just theory crafted with 0 10 0 30 30 and a secret gear and I got a bit over 2,800 armor, around 3,000 attack, around 31% crit chance, 51% as you have per a fury, around 80% crit damage and around 15-16k health. This is with exotics and ascended trinkets. This stats is more than some classes can get and also ele is one of the best classes in 1v1 I’m not sure what gear you’re in maybe masterwork…

How about giving us the gear setup?

I think you’ll find that literally every other class, literally, can get better stats than that with the exact same build you use.

You do realize that eles have the lowest hp starter stat and lowest armour stat at creation than anyone else, meaning they will always have the lowest stats with any sort of template when compared to another class.

Warriors start with 8k more health than an elementalist. Just for being a warrior.

Pretty sure guardians start with lowest hp.

It largely depends on so many factors in this scenario.. Both have equal chances to win if necro have full life force and the Ele can provide constant high burst pressure while avoiding getting feared and signet conditions. I have tested with a few very skillful necros from BG and jq that very rarely lose on 1v1.

Interrupt – stop heals, counter thief burst.

Show some duels against the more OP classes like condition necro.

Assuming both equally skilled players, would a PU condition mesmer or a phantasm mesmer whichever ones better beat a condition necro or power necro whichever ones better?

Full zero you get 3k armour 20k hp and still do truck tons of damage plus that BS healing signet healing 600 hp/sec. Just go perplexity don’t even wear weapons just spam bull charge you win.

Warrior’s are super broken, I know you’re talking bout spvp but in wvw and pve you can get 3k armour and over 20k health with full zerker warrior they’re so broken. Just don’t even bother run away while the noob playing the class wishes he could play a class that requires real skill.

a lot of friends among eles and in general asked me to make solo content again because i kinda stopped so i did. i fought what was in the sanctum during the week, its not my fault if there was a lack of condi builds and classes. i fight them all the same. i didnt post this here to claim that i am the best ele . like ozii said word of mouth travels fast. enjoy the video and if you did im happy.

I saw you in the arena and there was an s/d thief you lost to a lot, but I ask why isn’t that in the video? It’s obvious you’re just showing wins.

You can’t do this against anyone who isn’t also running a bunker build – you really are best going for a hybrid or more damage-oriented build, because the best way to live forever is by making sure there’s nobody left alive to kill you.

Who said that? I tried to make a bunker build (idk if its good) I got like 3k armour and like 2.6-2.8 attack which is then further increased by might and bloodlust stacks.

Does superior sigil of battle and superior sigil of hydromancy have cool downs?

Is necro good at duels i mean the power death shroud one i hate condimancer. What class can’t it beat? I’m implying same skill level for both players.

Swapping to water and water 5 cures a condition each plus when you get regeneration as well as when you dodge in water. This is 4 condition clears just with water attunement.

The only time you will need ether renewal is against necromancer when they use that signet which applies like 8 conditions.

On another note the only class I think that counters Elementalist is S/D Thief as they rip your boons from you.

What are the meta elementalist build atm and what is the traits armour trinkets weapons sigils runes etc for it?
