Hello just came back after 4 months. Just need someone to give me some general updates of what’s happened since around May to the game! This includes what classes are good now (mainly warrior, thief and ele updates I need) and what builds are viable for those 3. Did any farms get nerfed? Silverwastes still viable? Maize balm farm? Well Sir, in theory it works like this:

Offering the game for free ideally brings in new players. From those new players some of them are bound to not only buy HOT but also gems in future.

From this extra generated cash they can continue to develop the game not only for these new players but also for all of us who have been here since the beginning. So you see, we continue to also get this game for FREE and are not burdened to pay for a subs or be FORCED to buy gems and can continue on for as long as the game will last.

Sooooo summary: no one has any right to moan imo. :P

Yep then they lose players when people don’t want to pay for the expansion or unable to. That also means less gems purchased. I’d download gw2 if there was no expansion and I’m a person to buy gems often so yep, gj anet just money hungry. Let’s just copy WoW and add expansions…

Why do they only have to pay $50 to play the full game with expansion but we had to pay $100. Seems legit.

Just do 2 warriors they’re looking pretty good with the revealed changes atm.

Hello I play S/D thief in WvW but mainly D/D, S/P, Shortbow for PvE. I just want to ask if the changes are really good for thief or would it be more worth it to reroll to warrior or something.

I currently play thief in PvE and sometimes WvW roaming with S/D and I just want to ask if I should reroll to warrior for PvE and WvW after they have revealed the new changes to traits? Is warrior getting MASSIVELY buffed or just staying the same or getting worse, or just a little bit better?

I have 2 lvl 80s and won’t level another unless through pvp. Leveling was so easy back then even when I was new it was quick. Now it’s pretty hard I think anet wants to scare away new players. The “buying” traits idea imo was the worst update I’ve ever experienced in any game. They’re reworking traits sooner or later in the xpac I think. Until then I’m not leveling.

Also this living story every 10 levels is dumb. Used to just be able to spam living story without stopping. Now you’re so limited while leveling. As well as being stopped from wvw till level 18, no off hand till level 7, all that, it’s just hurting new players a lot and scaring off a lot of people.

I have an idea where we can have preset trait builds because in situations like when you are speedrunning a dungeon or just swapping weapons in general, you have to spend a while doing traits.

With this idea you can just pick saved trait builds so you can easily swap traits, therefore speeding up speedclears.

What do you think?

I’m going to level an engineer. Is there anything important about the early levels that has changed in the past like, year?

Also what’s a good PVE build for dungeons and stuff? Is condition grenade, condition bomb or celestial rifle best for WvW?

Keep an extra dagger w/ bloodlust sigil for stacking. A thanks goes to oZii for leaving the advice I needed to adapt this build to the changes.

If you take out the bloodlust sigil weapon you lose the stacks. That’s bAd for ele because you only have 2 weapons and those are very important. For example a thief can stack his bloodlust on his Shortbow and then use d/d or d/p meaning they actually have 1 slot for bloodlust and 3’for others. Eles have 2 sigil slots and 1 can be taken out by bloodlust. This nerf to bloodlust hurt ele the most.

Thief still the best class

We never dueled in pvp, and When we did duel i wasn’t fighting you with this build, plus i think you were using perplexity.

We did duel and I wasn’t using perplexity im the guy who calls you cankles and maybe u were running one of ur other builds. U said since I was running 30 SA I was running cheese.

For this build i don’t think you have any offensive potential good survival anyway.

Use 30 trickery and mug and use S/P not Shortbow. Use steal when you see them heartseeker meanin they wasted 9 initiative and you can burst. Use pistol whip to evade whilst they stealth or you can just stand in a black powder field. Also you can use your evade and if you see the words Evade then use pistol whip backwards to stun. If they decide to sit in their black powder fields your sword range can reach them but their dagger range can’t hit you.

You should usually be able to beat d/p with s/p good luck.

1. Never stand near the middle of shadow refuge.
2. Don’t waste utilities I guess unless its life threatening.
3. S/D and P/D are superior at the moment.
4. Stealth with 30 SA OP.

You can also learn lots by playing all the classes.

I realize that. See my latest video for a fair 1v1 against a competent thief. This one just shows that Shadow Refuge isn’t a get out of jail free card, like most assume. I can’t fathom how many times I’ve knocked a thief out of shadow refuge using simple camera placement as if I were playing a ranged action RPG with a crosshair.

Yeah he’s extremely competent at running away. You ambushed him and he used shadow refuge at near full health for some reason. And I’d never stand in the middle of shadow refuge I always stand a tiny bit past the edge good luck hitting me out of there.

Good pvp match though!

It was 3v1 and u just finished his last 5-10% hp and you got lucky with the knock back. Good job anyways!

BV ignored defiance, which meant you can interrupt some skills that are normally difficult to interrupt (and with venom share you can keep them still for roughly 3 seconds because no one seems to know what “rotate” means). Thieves guild is a horrible elite in dungeons, they don’t evade and get wiped out far to quick.

One thief applies blind which is extremely useful.

Thief is the least of your worries. PU condi mesmer or even just PU is OP. Warriors in full cavalier, have fun with trying to tickle them to death.

Play power block mesmer interrupt heartseeker or CnD congrats you won the duel.

Why don’t you play thief and realise it’s not easy to manage initiative and to all the people who complain about heartseeker spam, it got nerfed and buffed at the same time.

All you QQers are the reason thief gets nerfed every single patch.

You used S/D like 20% of the fight. You just spammed 1 and 3 on Shortbow and called the engineer bad after you stomped him. You can’t call someone bad if you killed them by spamming 1. Show some duels against non-brain dead people and try actually use the weapon 90% of the time that you stated in the title.

Btw showing your name and saying that you have bolt and incinerator in the title tells us you’re attempting to show off, but you’re failing because you trash talk and you post videos vs noobs, and all you do is spam 1 and 3 on Shortbow.

Maybe try equip the signet of agility after the traits. If it still doesn’t work then it probably doesn’t work together.

Stats pretty bad except the “decent” crit dmg and the healing power which is kinda useless anyway. Thanks for the build though!

Erm. What exactly is the fuss about? This build is old as kitten. I used a very similar one (except for gear) like 1 month after launch allready.

If you thought this was a well kept secret, then you seriously have to reconsider.

Also finding out others builds just by watching them fight is one of the easiest things to do in guild wars. You surely must be pretty paranoid when you make a fuss about this thread.

I’ll give you 100g if you tell me how you can find someone’s gear by watching them duel.

Well I need to obviously wait a while until I can get ascended trinkets and I need a couple cavalier ones, what’s some good exotic alternative that don’t cost karma? I was thinking Valkyrie trinkets exotics but I’d like to hear some suggestions. Also is there any news of ascended trinkets being craft able, if so I’ll wait.

Other Q : Anyone have a build they can share that only uses exotics, uses D/D and has reasonably good stats (maybe 2.9k atk, 80%+ crit dmg, 30% crit chance, 2,400 or 2,500 armour and preferably the standard 75% boon duration, health amount doesn’t really matter) also pls don’t include karma trinkets. Thanks in advance!

The best matchup for dueling eles is Mag v SoS v FA.

It’s been that way for a few weeks. I was looking for my topic I made stating just that but couldn’t find it.

IMO the best eles to duel are on Mag and FA (Sorry Moj ), so if you’re not looking to be somewhere permanently, hop on SoS.

Those are some nice stats, but it has like 300 less armour and 3000 less health than a warrior in full dire.

Who’d win, PU phantasm or PU condi, and assuming equally skilled players.

He had might on dodge food plus the vigor trait i don’t think its PU just maybe random boon. He got lots of might with vigor and yeah that burst!
