Special Notes and Things Area.

“Hey, guys this is my note pad while ideas flood threw my mind as before I forget due to fatigue, dinner, or I fall asleep. This area will be fixed up with specific NPC’s and NPC Quotes once I am done.”

- Drawings required for New Towers.

- Random NPC, need name, quotes to explain and offer Level 2 puzzle.
- Random NPC, need name, quotes to explain and offer Level 3 puzzle.
- Random NPCs, three or two with names, to talk about and slightly hint in a Mad King’s Realm and his hidden treasure. Needs to be witty and left to confuse players in such a way to make the rumor unbelievable but knackering at the players mind if its true or not. that or make the message very well hidden.

- Need drawing and detailed explanation of Mad King’s Throne.
- Need a better explanation of the Mad King’s Arena looking cage where players fight at.
- Need a better explanation of the brazier looking thing within the cage.

- Need to come up with more Bad Jokes with “Mad King Thorn” for him to use if a player is teleported to him to do that /laugh thing.

- Need to come up with Pumpkin drawings and bad jokes.

- Need to give [Item name] to that bad joke counter.

- Need to provide drawings of the realm collapsing, after Mad King’s Death.

- Need random NPC for Realm destruction announcement.

- Need to better explain the special notes programming tricks for “Time Fluctuation” event that effects all three towers.

- Need to add additional changes to “Mad King’s Tower” to work with “Time Fluctuation”.

- Need to provide the math calculations for Arenanet to make all three towers in sync in movement.

Special Note to Developers: If you do consider all this information on suggestions, please wait for 1-3 months.

This is special project of mine and I am not completely done with it. Once “Work in Progress” is removed that is the final version.

After words I’ll be cleaning it up for representation. In the end there will be two threads. One for a Player version and one for the developers and programmers for special notes.

Mad King Thorn

While jumping towards the middle to reach the area before “Mad King Thorn” he will throw random pumpkins at you.

A Player or Players can avoid the pumpkins by:

- Dodging
- Using a single use blockade provide within the puzzle game. The blockade will be a wooden fence or metal fence that has a Life Bar, to indicate that its a blockade. Once Mad King Thorn’s pumpkin hits it, it shatters or destroys it. These fences will respawn every 5 minutes.
- Block the Pumpkin with [Item name]. This item will have three charges to use. Basically its function is simple, the player will click to activate the item and negates the pumpkin attack by allowing the player to say a “Random Bad Pumpkin Joke” with thier own words. The item will be scattered around the puzzle area for a player to pick up. Respawn time is 11 minutes.

Once a player reaches before “Mad King Thorn” the King will descend from his Throne. After announcing his frustration of your intrusion.

Programmer’s Note: Basically, stands up, speaks and then teleports to the player that reached him first. “Mad King Thorn” will have all the same attacks and abilities as was used in the Dungeon Instance.

Players will soon realize that this is “Mad King Thorn” ’s Home world in this puzzle. Meaning he is at Champion level, he is alot stronger and harder to kill. Estimate 5 players that reaches the middle to successfully kill him.

Note: Only players that enter combat and damaged the “Mad King Thorn” to some extent, will be given credit to loot the treasure chest, so if you take too long on the jumping puzzle, tough luck.

If you die, you have to start over with jumping of the towers, or wait for someone to revive you.

Note: Once “Mad King Thorn” descends from his throne, he will no longer throw random pumpkins at players that are still jumping to the middle to reach him.

However… if you take the doors still and the door teleports you to where you float before the King’s Throne chair, you will automatically be dropped down into the abyss, while the Mad King laughs at you.

Special Programmer’s Note: Once “Mad King Thorn” has been engaged in combat, this zone is completely locked out from new players to zone in.

If “Mad King Thorn” dies, you will need to set up a warning system like this “Mad King Thorn has been defeated! This Realm is collapsing! Hurry Adventurers, grab the treasure and escape!”.

During this time you will put up a 5 minute count down timer on the screen where the event window is at. After 5 minutes, any players that are still left in the zone will be port out. This will prevent, AFKers, Bots, or whatever other reason a player is trying to stay inside.

Also to save you programmers some time, use the green abyss to teleport the players. So for example during the destruction or collapsing of the zone. Let the puzzle crumble for real.

Allow players that are in the jumping puzzle area to witness the rocks break apart and descend into the Abyss. Any players that are within or inside the Mad King’s Arena Cage, let them witness the Throne chair disappear and the entire Cage itself tilt to the side and descend into the Abyss.

Think of the scene in the movie “Titanic” when the ship broke in half and began to sink. That will be the same special effects for the Arena.

  • Mad King Thorn’s Realm – Final Puzzle area.

Players that zone from which ever instance server, that was queued for “Mad King’s Towers of Insanity”, will be ported to this instance. The secret plat form that was located at the top of the three Clock Towers will be the same plat form they will be on when the players zone in.

For example, if players were on the Plat form from Tower #1, Tower #2, or Tower #3; those players will appear above the Tower they were brought from.

Programer’s Note: you can connect multiple instances of “Mad King’s Towers of Insanity” to one of three locations in this new puzzle area, for players to spawn at.

Lay out

The entire lay out of the puzzle will be in the formation of Spider Web with some maze like structures. Composed of Rock formations, I will be providing pictures to visually show you what I mean.

In the mean time you will also include the debris used in the mini puzzle, provided in Lion’s Arch, for the Mystic Forge. The Metal stairs and metal platforms and all.

In the middle of the Web will be a small-medium lay out, large enough for players to jump onto and fight in. Think of it as a Arena set up with a Metal Cage like structure using the same model skin like the broken stair case used in Lion’s arch.

Now also, there will be an Arched doorway from 4 different places for players to enter. Remember this is in the middle of the web like structure maze. Now to add to this, “Mad King Thorn” is sitting in his Throne. Which is located above this Cage.

Before his Throne is the area where players will teleport at, in front of “Mad King Thorn”. While player or players hover above, below them is the Green Abyss that will kick them out. The player will have a 50/50 chance of being teleport back to their spawn point or fall to their demise.

Now Developers, already I have given you a picture of the area below as a Metal Cage formed as an Arena. I want you to also picture this hole in the middle of the arena. Now I want you to in-vision a large Brazier like structure in the middle. Players that hover above this area, when they fall, after being “Tricked”, they will plummet to their demise. They will catch on fire. While on fire and to their horror, they will die by the fire or just fall into the Abyss and get teleported back to the Queueing area, of which Tower puzzle they want to do.

Door Mechanics:

The Doors I mentioned earlier? They are going to have 4 uses, using a pure RNG function. When a player uses a door and the following will happen:

- Teleports the player to another door that’s closer to the center. 5% chance.
- Teleports the player farther away from the center. 35% chance.
- Teleports the player that’s closer to the center but is a trap and a skeleton NPC awaits there, ready to kick them off the ledge into the Abyss, should the player fail to kill, dodge, or jump away from the skeleton within 1-3 seconds. 65% Chance.
- Teleports the player above the sky, in the middle where “Mad King Thorn” ’s throne is located at. There the player will float before “Mad King Thorn” sitting at his throne and he tells a bad joke. 15% chance.

The player has two choices. /laugh at his joke or fall into the abyss.

If the player /laughs at his bad joke, the king in his madness, will teleport you back at the entrance, the spawn area when you first come into this zone.

The /laugh is a 50/50 chance. Other times the laugh wont work and you will drop into the abyss before him.

Programmer’s Note: The Door are the same doors used when summoning or entering Mad King’s Labyrinth. Also since it just porting to another door or to “Mad King Thorn” ‘s throne area, just use the same programing code for the [Mesmer’s Teleport Ability]. Just make sure that they cant teleport back if the player or players, click the door to many times or too fast by accident. Also remove the pink portal graphic indication, don’t remove the graphic for it just make it colorless and transparent. This will give a water looking look with a dimensional feeling to it when they see it before it fades out after the use of the door.

  • Mad King’s Towers of Insanity:

Now again, the same thing as for the “Towers of Horror”, developers, the third tower will be accessed by the first chest you see when you hop up. This will before the second chest.

This will offer platforms to jump across to the third tower, all the while the green abyss continues to rise, while the players make their way across, continuing to jump up.

This tower will move clockwise when players access this place.

The twist with this tower is, players, while jumping up, will encounter a door. When the players clicks the door, it will take the player inside that tower where players will continue to jump up.

Also the Green Abyss will be shown inside to indicate how much time they have left.

There are a bunch of doors, while the player is jumping up from inside, they have to jump up to find the correct door to go back out side, then continue to jump up from there, outside.

When players reach half way point, the Time Fluctuation from “Tower of Horror” will affect this tower making the Green Abyss go down, however players that fail to notice, the Green Abyss will offer new doors.

Programmer’s Note:The Correct door to enter inside will never disappear, but wrong doors will. However to make a twist, a number of doors will appear when the “Time Fluctuation” happens, this will allow players to gamble to figure out which door is the correct one.

This means once they figure out that all the doors, inside the tower going up, are incorrect doors and will send them into loops of going to the other doors within the area; they will have to go down to the new doors to go outside.

When all players reach the top sorta, there will be a door that takes them inside.

Programmer’s Note: All it will be is a long bridge going across the tower inside. However the players will notice players below them as they are jumping up. This is to trick players to thinking that the players above them, crossing the bridge, took the doors at the top to reach that bridge. In the mean while players crossing the bridge will also notice that the room above them shows the ending room of the puzzle, that contains a chest and a door to port out.

The Chest and Door are fake are just merely there for looks. So no additional programming is needed to make them real.

One other thing, if players choose to sit on the Bridge to AFK or whatever reason, the green abyss will still continue to rise and will port them out, once it touches them.

Once players go across the bridge and take the door, you will be ported outside and continue your way jumping to the final area.

Here you either choose to jump inside the clock tower to finish the puzzle or jump to gamble on the secret plat form that’s offered on all three towers.

The secret plat form is located on the very top of the towers, so you will need to do a small jumping puzzle to get to the top. When a player or players reach the top, they can watch other players from other towers on their secret plat forms from across the map.

The Towers are still sinking, so once the Abyss gets very close to touching them, only one of these secret plat forms, that players are standing on, will elevate into the air.

The correct plat form chosen at which ever tower, which is pure RNG decided by the system, will rise up before the player’s sink to their demise and watch other players sink into Abyss to try again.

You will now get a loading screen to enter “Mad King Thorn’s Realm”.

  • Mad King’s Towers of Horror:

We are not changing the first tower, holiday developers. When the player reaches half way point, meaning when they reach the area where the 2nd chest is located at, another plat form or plat forms will be out in the open, and will offer the player a path to the second tower.

While players are reaching this tower, they are still jumping up as the green abyss continues to rise. When they reach this tower, this tower is going counter-clock wise. The speed of this tower is twice as fast.

Players too Slow

As Players are jumping up to the top, we got a little trick for them, if players are too slow, meaning they don’t reach the dead end, you are going to trick them reversing time. Meaning that the player will lose on control of their toon while they watch in horror as all the actions and movements they did before while they were jumping up, is being reversed. Think of it as a rewind.

This will cause the player to panic. However what they don’t realize is the green abyss is being reversed as well.

Programmer’s Note: I will explain program wise how to pull this off for this to effect Tower #1 later on.

The player is panicking now thinking they have to do all that work again, however they will soon realize that the path they took is now block and a new path needs to be open.

To do this, there are switches. If the player is too slow, there will be a single switch close to where the path is blocked, below the blockage. When the player clicks the switch the tower will stop for 1 second, a path will form on the left side of the screen and the Tower will go clock wise now.

The new path will allow the player to continue to jump up the tower and meet with the other players along the way that was on the otherside of the blockage.

Players too Fast

Now for players that are very good at this puzzle and reached the dead end. To avoid being stuck on the first path, the player must reach the dead end and wait 2-3 seconds, meaning standing still and doing nothing. While catching a breathe.

Time reverse happens and players that were too fast will be time reversed back to the point where the Blockage is at, however instead they will be ahead of the blockage instead behind, a switch will be right, above them.

Special Note: Both Switches are connected, so which ever switch is active first, the tower will stop and a new path will form. This is a pre-caution if there is no players above or below the blockage. To activate the switch.

The Tower will stop for one second and go clock wise now, with a new path to be revealed. The new path will allow the player to continue to jump up the tower and meet with the other players along the way that was on the other side of the blockage.

Finally all players reach the half way point. Hopefully. The second switch is revealed. When pressed, the tower will stop once again, a new path will be revealed and the tower will be going counter-clockwise as it was previously.

However with a Twist, Time is affect again, and instead of a reverse, the green abyss is now moving up faster, or for a “Programmer’s Special coding” allowing the tower to sink faster.

When they reach the final area at the top, two chains will be located at the top and have to be pulled, this will open a gate to allow the player jump inside the tower for the chest.

Arenanet I have a few suggestions:

- Allow an option to be single instance for people that want to do it alone.
- Make another option to allow people to run with other people.
- If Norn or Charr are in the picture, just make them fade out like ghost or transparent slightly.
- Upgrade the Mad King’s tower to have two towers.
- Upgrade the Mad King’s towers to have three towers.
- Use the NPCs in the gathering area to give options to players from solo to group queue ups.
- Players can only access “Mad King’s Towers of Horror” after completing “Mad King’s Tower”
- Players can only access “Mad King’s Towers of Insanity” after completing “Mad King’s Towers of Horror.”

Special Notes:

- “Solo Mode” is only available for “Mad King Tower” instance.
- “Mad King Thorn’s Realm” will not be an option to pick from to queue up.
- “Mad King’s Towers of Horror” and “Mad King’s Towers of Insanity” will only be be available for group queues.

Note: When I mean “Group Queues” I mean the normal 10-15 people thrown into the instance.
Note: “Mad King Thorn’s Realm” will be the only exception to allow 20-45 people as the this area is extremely large and difficult puzzle.

I really would hate to lose the, “Queue with other people.”, next Halloween.

Mad King’s Towers of Horror

This tower will have a lot of surprises for the players. A brand new Tower that can go Clock Wise and Counter Clockwise, at a mere flip of a switch. On top of that there is a special surprise that can affect time. Also a Twist at the end of the puzzle.

Mad King’s Towers of Insanity

Once again Adventurers will be challenged to a new level of danger. While this tower is moving clockwise as the the first tower, this tower has its own twist. Players will have to jump their way up and take doors that are available and journey inside the tower itself to continue to climb up, along the way players will encounter more doors to journey outside and continue to climb up. However, not all doors are safe to take and might lead a player to their demise. To reflect the time effects of “Tower of Horror”, a twist will be available that might change a players mind to take a hidden doors revealed by this.

Mad King Thorn’s Realm

At last, a hidden stepping will be revealed at the end of each tower in the instance “Mad King’s Towers of Insanity”, it will be by itself, even though the abyss continues to rise, Players will have to make a choice which stepping stone is the correct path or be consumed by the endless Abyss.

Choosing the correct stepping step will allow entry to “Mad King Thorn’s Realm”, home of the King himself, where he dwells and watches all.

Here, a whole new level of a jumping puzzle happens.

After “Mad King Thorn” congratulates you, he will then show his respect by honoring you with his pumpkins.

Players will have to jump across, making their way towards the middle. “Mad King Thorn” however is not happy to share his hidden personal treasure with you, so he will throw “Pumpkins” at you while those pumpkins make their own bad jokes. Players will also have many options:

- Doors will appear, that will either bring you closer to the “Mad King’s Throne” or you will fall into the abyss.
- Grab “[Item Name]” and use your own bad jokes to stop his pumpkins.
- Hide behind fences that will protect you from Pumpkins.
- Try your luck and dodge them.

To make it fair, the pumpkins being thrown at random people will have a warning. The pumpkins will make bad jokes, that only you can hear. Also there will be a noticeable visual of a pumpkin coming at you.

Players that finally reach the middle, have the opertunity to beat up “Mad King Thorn” for all his mean tricks. All the while, they need to be careful, he will still use all of his abilities that was shown and used during Act 3 in his “Mad King Dungeon” and the one to watch out is “scarecrow”. When it is killed or when it bursts on its own. Will cause the AoE fear.

If you in the wrong area at the wrong time, you will fall off.

Now for this Crazy…. quadruple jumping puzzle.

Achievement, 3 exotics, and 75 pieces of candy corn.

The random Exotics, has a small chance to drop a Pre-Legendary “Note: Exotic that’s used in making Legendaries.” from the chest.

I am going to emphasize this word “Very Very Small Chance.” during the 7 days of the Halloween event. Also to make sure to avoid useless drama. The secret chest will only reset once a day during the 7 day holiday event so you don’t lose your mind, farming this chest like mad.

Its a pure gamble, you either get it or you don’t, that way you don’t feel compelled to do it.

Remember, all these New Optional jumping puzzles, are just that Optional, you do not need to do them, to enjoy the rest of the Halloween event.

Too many humans...

in Guild Wars 2 Discussion

I’ve notice after the talk about the situation of less variety of races in player base, its continuing to become a real problem.

I’ve noticed on overflow and home servers; Humans are starting to take over by 86% with Norn at 7%, Sylvari at 3%, Asura at 2.98%, and Charr at 1.02%.

On top of that the Main Hide Out is Lion’s Arch by far due to Portals and all. However With Divinity’s Reach being the second hang out place. Most other cities are pretty much dead zones. “Note: Not counting the new characters created.”

Its kinda sad really, walking around in Black Citadel, Rata Sum, and The Grove, haven’t hung out much in Hoelbrak, but im sure that zone as well is a ghost town.

Just checking for random feedback and seeing how to proceed this. I have been working on this for a quite a while and seeing how the community will react. (Fan Made)

This is a secret project that has been in the works for 2-4 years on spare time, there has been no posting of teasers of my work anywhere nor has it been shown to anyone, not even my own family. All work, drawings, music, voice files, and animation has been done by me.

I have the following:

  • Tyria – The Legend of Destiny’s Edge 63% Complete.

This has been animated similar to “Final fantasy Advent Children” art style. Combat has been adjusted and updated to what is logically offered on the actual Game. In the same time the story itself follows a mixture of lore offered in game and what was offered in the book.

The Video is expected to be 2 hours and 37 minutes long.

Rated R “Blood, Violence, Drugs, Alcohol, Sexual suggestive Themes, Verbal Words, and Drama.”

  • The Chronicles of Ratchet the Tinker

This is to be an ongoing story mode similar to “Pokemon Art Style” but with combat like “Devil May Cry”. The goal is to make 30 episodes to be no longer than 30-45 minutes. So far 7 of the 30 episodes completed. The story would be the journeys of my character “Ratchet the Tinker” and future characters that has yet to be revealed. The majority of the plot line is going to be similar to like “Dragon Warrior” and “Slayers” where there is nothing but adventure and at certain times will involve plot stories from personal stories from within the game “Modified versions of multiple stories combined”, to the updated world of Tyria as the in-game evolves, to mis-adventures showing story lines affecting my character or episodes showing how other races and their life styles are being affected as the world changes around them.
These episodes will also have voices and sound.

Rated PG-13

Should the show be a success, I was going to make a movie using artistic realistic programing similar to “Avatar” and “Avatar: The Last Air bender” movies. The story itself will be slightly similar to the cartoon show but shown in a different way by the involvement of the creator, me, in how “I” see Tyria and forever watching over the planet in curiosity.

Since “Humans” in this plot line, were brought to this planet and the Human Race has long since forgotten according to Guild Wars lore, this is a perfect set up for me enter this world from planet Earth using magic and dimensional doors at my disposal.

The Tone of the movie will be very dark compare to the cartoon which is fun and silly.

The Movie is expected to be 3 hours and 14 minutes long. 31% Completed

Rated R “Blood, Violence, Drugs, Alcohol, Sexual Suggestive Themes, Sexual Scenes, Verbal Words, Drama.”

- Alot of set backs is miss-calculations of how the lore was going to be directed for Guild Wars 2 and a few surprises in combat abilities given to which professions.

- Predicting how the future of Guild Wars 2 Lore will go.

- Again, none of my work has been posted or shown anywhere. If I am going to do this, I do not want people to steal my hard blood given work. Rather it succeeds or not. Also if at any time I find that this isn’t going to work due to too many changes in lore in Guild Wars 2, I will re-work the story line from scratch to get it right.

What I want to hear from you, the community and possibly you developers on what you think about it. I am looking for Critical Thinking on what your thoughts about the situations at hand. Cheers and support are welcomed but I expect that no less. I prefer more specific thoughts and information such as the “Pros and Cons”, what you “Love and Like”, and other things.

Please Note: I am not going to reply to anyone in this thread, I will just watch it for now and take the feedback and adjust my work as it goes.

Lost Shores: Dignified anticipation!

I am shocked this was not discovered yet but here is a screenshot of 3 hidden posters.

To view these posters you need to way point far away from the center and then take Way Point: “Fort Marriner”. Walk down the wooden bridge slowly to notice them.

Sadly this is as close I could get without them disappearing.

Lightbringer Tybalt Leftpaw Plot holes

I am sorry but I found too many plot holes with this personal story – Charr.

During the Personal Story “The Risen attack on Claw Island.” Tybalt sacrifices himself to save you and everyone else to escape and regroup back in Lion’s Arch.

Later on you receive a mission to re-take “Claw Island” and on the very same path way you take that was the same area where Tybalt died at. There was no gaping hole in the ground, no burn marks, no broken ground tiles. Nothing. Its like the very same area with no change at all, when during the sacrifice, Tybalt hinted he was going to make the greatest bomb explosion ever. Yet… there is no evidence of this.

Also to add to this, during your personal story line, it made a big huge deal how your War Band Legionnaire’s was missing in action and supposely, they recover it to be buried, only later to be revealed he has been revived to be a zombie only to be killed again.

To get to the point, it was revealed threw out the story line, by NPCs, that Zhaitan or the necklaces, would revive fallen or freshly killed people to be zombies under the control of Zhaintan. However Tybalt’s body is no where to be found?

Not even his sniper gun, that was shown during the pirate story line when saving “Demmi Beetlestone”, was found?

I find this very strange but then again this is one of many flaws I have discovered.

  • You lose all contact with your warband.
  • You lose all contact with “Korukhan the Blacksmith” the cool looking charr that explained his order, even to the point he is never really shown again.
  • The “mouth of Zhaitan” was never really explained what or who they were, since it was explained in the story that the “Eye of Zhaitan” was the former Kings or Queens of Orr.

Probably more, however I cant think of it at the moment. Very disappointed this was not explained very well.

Ladies and Gentleman, I am tired of getting notices about new replies on this thread.

I have made my points very clear on what the Developer did wrong after reading his post about the situation, that has cause doubt about how future content is going to be handled.

Bumping this thread with ridicules filler, back-tracking, or re-wording topics or sentences, is plain childish to the point that this has become “Trolling Methods”.

This is a plain “Agree to Disagree” from now on amongst the community and my opinion.

This is the very last time I will even bother with this thread and will devote my time on playing the game and focusing my attention on future threads by me or other threads that I feel that needs to be supported or given opinions.

No I did say that it was rumor to begin with from the sources I was looking at. Personally I thought it was true when Act 4 started and that the portal was sealed but had a different background within the circle to block the portal.

I am just severely disappointed that the Dev replied that its just a “Rehash” in terms of summarizing his post, should Arenanet, go through with this.

However, I am criticizing Arenanet now about their claims about this MMO being different on the basis of “World Changing”, “Dynamic Events”, and what you do “Changes the world around you by environment and lore update”, and ect ect.

After reading his post, he just broke everything they promised and discussed and rather or not they had the time or not to reflect this change, you do not make advertisement claims like this to the world for previous, new, old, or returning customers of a product you promise, only to change it your plans about the game that hasn’t been out long, that has been planned for more than 5+ years.

Its a flaw, nothing more to be said.

The dev would have worded what he said differently if he wanted to suggest that the lion statue was not making a return.

Furthermore, I know he would have not posted what he did if he thought he was wrong, or didn’t know if the statue was being replaced. It would also be detrimental to the image of Anet if he were to lie about it.

You have your source, but I’d trust a dev over an unnamed source on this topic. It’s not something that they’d find much worth in hiding or deceiving the fate of the statue.

That’s fine, its a dev post and I dont expect no less for you to wander off from it.

I am just saying its a stupid idea is all, that you are going to explode the statue, over and over, and replacing it over and over every Halloween.

Its just a very bad and dumb idea. Its left me with mix messages how future content is going to be, regarding to what Arenanet has said previous earlier how they “were” going to direct their game.

Edit: And… like I said if “Josh Foreman” truly felt that way about the statue, then Arenanet should had not destroyed it in the first place. Arenanet should not had called it a “Dynamic Event” and that’s that. Its just that simple.

Honestly, if “world changes” meant a statue is destroyed that’s pretty lame. It coming back is fine to me.

World changes should be epic in scale, not an architectural change in one statue.

That’s like saying… oh “Elder Dragon Zhaitan” didn’t really die and he’s back, 1 or 2 years later.

I read the dev post and to be honest if “Josh Foreman” – Arenanet, truly felt that way, why was it used as an icon of destruction in the first place?

Not only that, he is claiming to rebuild the same monument, only to be destroyed again, next Halloween? I’m not sure about you or “Josh Foreman” but to me…

What’s so Artistic about that? I mean boo hoo, you spent many hours of animation on it. Are you telling me, lore wise that this event has no place in Tyria and that the whole lore about “Mad King Thorn” is nothing more than just a mere holiday?

I mean what was the point of putting lore anyways of mentioning that he has not appeared in so many centuries? What was the point of learning about the “Mad King Thorn” ?

What happen to in-depth world change? Does the Developer even understand how dumb the very idea of rebuilding the same model only to be destroyed over and over every year?

The fact he said those words in that post, defies everything that was talked about in Pax or the idea of in-depth game changing environments, Arenanet has claimed publicly, that… that was their motto.

I’m sorry but I think the Dev is throwing you into a loop hole and I trust my sources of change.

If in fact, I am wrong to trust the source of my information, then this is another flaw by major pour-portions about Arenanet’s philosophy on how they want to direct their game in future content.

Edit: What bothers me the most is that a Developer, whined about how much work in putting into a simple area like that. Which leads me to question that if you are going to make such a big deal about that? Who’s to say what kind of decent content we are going to get, without hitting the rehashed content?

I am sorry but that was a very poorly set up post in reply about the situation and leaves alot of questions and concerns about future content.

Skritt Burgerlerer Events

To those that read, wondered, or bothered to try the “Skritt Burgerlerer” events that Arenanet made a fuss about:

Jackaloping Along, Behind the Mask, Chicken Scramble, and A Waddle to Remember

  • To achieve the achievement, you must be transformed, not complete the event.
  • The event must be completed within 1 minute to 1 minute and 15 seconds or fail the event.
  • The “Skritt burgerlerer” will throw 1 transformation potion during the course. 3 potions on average, sometimes 4, during the entire run, total.
  • The “Skritt Burgerlerer” ’s potions are randomly thrown from behind.
    (Update: Will now hit you 100% of the time now.)
  • Every 25% health loss the “Skritt Burgerlerer” will drop a bag that has a chance to drop a rare when looted. Drop chance is 1 in 8.
  • Depending on the zone, it will drop loot to match the level of the zone.
  • The “Skritt Burgerlerer” will never drop any items above Master level Green Text Names.
  • The “Skritt Burgerlerer” upon killed/completing the event, will drop 1-3 items when looted.

  • To start these events, a chest will be out in the open at various locations within the zone. These chest comes in all different shapes and sizes.
  • The chests do not have a respawn timer but share a chest activation to a successful completed event.
  • Each zone, depending on size and how much open area it has, will have on average 5, 9, or 11 secret locations that the chest can spawn at.

According to rumors and sources, a statue that represented a Lion that was placed to hover over a globe, that represented Tyria, with the fishes and ships surrounding that globe; will not be rebuilt and thus instead, a new monument will be built in its place.

It is said that the area will have two smaller Lions in its place and will be positioned in a way to form an archway representing a door way into the Mad King’s realm. This doorway will be sealed by a barrier, that may or may not wane in power, coming next Halloween.

Surrounded by the Lions, will be lush greenery composed of single tree similar to a willow tree. Among the area will be a couple of pillars that represents fishes in honor of the Quaggan.

This indeed is a sad day and to those that made screenshots or dance videos near this grand monument before its destruction. Treasure those memories.

Note: It was speculated that some of the community, sent in complaints, about the positioning of the Lion, in representation, and thus made a lot of concerns that it suggested many of inappropriate ideas. Thus hence the change.

I never got worked up at all, if anything I was mocking Arenanet.

They keep making claims and promises about certain things about their game and at random situations like this it blows up in their face.

A good example is Final Fantasy Online MMO. Remember all the claims that company made for their game to be unique?

Its like day sha voo all over again.

The event happens live for both US and EU servers. Causes major problems on EU first with the cut scene not working. Then lead to major crash issues.

Then it spreads to US causing Dungeon re-entering issues. Then after people had completed the dungeon, the Mad King appeared again randomly without the cut scene.

People are upset due, trading post crashes, then guild crashes, then friend list crash, then PvP crashes.

Then later on a majority of people are getting booted off line. Log-in server issues. Then forums crash.

I am surprised Tweeter responses didn’t crash.

I mean seriously, this is the result of superb bad programming.

We will never … forget this.

Can’t wait for Christmas event.

I don’t think you read what I posted. The new tactic I am seeing is not Burst Damage with glass cannon specs, its [Haste] combined with “Condition”.

The idea is this, everyone knows that a player has the ability to remove condition damage. If you remove condition damage to early, you are bad.

So you are suppose to let them stack condition damage and the pop your ability to remove, convert to boons, or give it to others.

So Mesmers found a new way that, they expect you to remove the stacks so in theory, the new way now is to reapply those same stacks, just as fast, two or three times within the 15 second window, before the player’s CD is up.

Now condition damage is one thing, [Haste] is the other “bread and butter”, you can stack haste one after another with multiple Mesmers, also depending which class is helping you, those classes have their own [Haste] once the Mesmer’s [Haste] is gone.

By doing this combo, in theory which has proven to be working, you are stacking up small damage, and quickly with [Haste] that it doesn’t matter if a player has a Tank/Support spec and it really doesn’t matter if you avoid damage for 3 seconds because another Mesmer will just cast the same spells as the previous Mesmer.

Now as for the bubble thing, [Chaos Storm] is an AoE bubble, however when you team up with another player for example Thief with snares, Guardian with bindings, and a Warrior with Knockdown abilities with [Bull charge], 2 Handed Hammer, or even with Mace and Shield with stuns; you are dead.

A single Daze or Stun, regardless of counter abilities to get you out of stun, inside [Chaos Storm] (s); you are dead.

[Time Warp] is a threat.

Now for your issues with Turrets, a single [Chaos Storm] with or without Clones to shatter, will kill any turret.

I am sorry to say this but if you are having trouble against an engineer, I am afraid you don’t know how to PvP us.

Personally Mesmers are too over powered. All I see is in random PvP is 2 or 3 mesmer that stack conditions and burst you down.

Also the Tank specs traits combine with support to assist your team, are utter crap.
A single mesmer can counter and combine with a Thief, Warrior, or Guardian to dps you down, without using a glass cannon spec, is assisted with the Mesmer’s [Chaos Storm] and combine that with [Haste] buff.

A single Daze or stun will kill any player without having to burst spec because in theory if you have a Mesmer, two or three, that can stack [Haste] one after another combine with their own [Haste] ability to burn you down, you literally have no chance to react.

I have literally tried to find a spec to counter the [Chaos Storm] and [Haste] on my Engineer and to counter the Mesmer and Condition damage but to no avail . “Elixer C” is worthless. “Automatic Response” is worthless. Also you can Use the “Elixir Gun” – “Super Elixir” however once you are interrupted you are literally no help to anyone.

I found this annoying because I cant seem to find a common ground with my Engineer to be useful against Mesmer and too me, why bother playing any other class other than Mesmer.

If I take the money received from a gold seller from in-game mail, will I get banned?

Please read the Note before replying!

Note: I am stuck in a situation that no player in the community can help me in but only Arenanet can reply at.

Situation:

- Reported the gold selling ad from the in-game mail, using ! report.
- The Gold Seller ad sent me money, there for unable to delete the mail.
- Unable to return the mail without an error msg of unable to do that.

So now this junk is filling up my mail box and right now at 1/10 mail space used. If I take the money, it actually supports the very purpose of of getting banned from accepting money from a gold seller.

Even if this is dismissed by Arenanet, its still recorded and logged on their data base logs of accepting money from a gold seller. I need help Arenanet.

Question on the 100% map completion

I have 100% map completion on the log in screen when selecting my character.
I have the 100 % map completion medal on shown on my selected character.
I have the “Been there, done that” title and achievement.
I have all the exploration zone achievements completed.

Q: Why have I not received my two special items given freely for fully completing map?

Note: I was told by random players that I get two free random items for 100% completing the map, used for legendary crafting.

I have not received any items since the recent patch today when I logged on. I have asked on /map but no one really knows the truth. Was I lied too?

Yeah that’s the defense they have and are… abusing it. What I am talking about is spams like this.

“Omg Pandas are so great!” “Monks are so cool!” “Oh my friends are all playing Pandas lol!” “GW2 is done for, the expansion went live tonight, you guys should play.” “Oh look that the new PvP on Said MMO the Panda kung fu is so awesome!”

ect… ect… ect…

I want to rip my hair out! However, I am arguing the mere fact that this is a subliminal tactic of messaging of hidden advertisement.

That’s what my question is, can this be considered advertisement and report them for “Spamming” after keeping this up past 5 minutes – 30 minutes of posting the same related topic of said MMO?

I have been extremely annoyed tonight for the last 3 hours in multiple zones in /map chat in Cities, Mist, and WvWvW about these stupid Pandas about “You know who MMO” and they wont shut up after 15 minutes.

Can these people be reported for “Spamming” for instant 3 day ban? Anyone know?
