@ Calsifer.6079

I just rounded it up.

I spent so… many hours in SAB it is not funny. First it was run threw, then achievements, then bug reports, then going 1:1 ratio of digging looking for orbs, then it was wall jumping to find bugs to get out of the bounds area, more bug reports, then back to orb digging, finally burnt out.

I’ve been trying to avoid SAB for a long while but I think I have reported every Bug, glitch, and hack I could find and tested. Which it can all be found in the correct forums.

How much FPS does your potato get with GW2?

Yeah sorry my computer is almost 8 years old. Its an old Vista 2000.

I never had the money to upgrade so I don’t get invited to Betas much in the new MMOs. However surprisingly enough I can play MMOs GW2 or later MMOs to come still on this old thing. So I will keep using it until this old girl breaks on me, then my online gaming will be done.

Plus I still get lag spikes and long… loading city screens on this game so basically all my settings is near Zero for all categories.

My apologies for the bad screenshots but there is no way I can provide better.

If anything, the lack of references for the following:

Paper Boy (NES)
Secret of Mana/Seiken Dentsu 2 (SNES)
Super Mario RPG: Legend of the Seven Stars (SNES)
Earth Bound (SNES)
Secret of Evermore (SNES)
Dragon Warrior/Dragon Quest (NES/SNES)

Edit:

Breath of Fire (SNES)
Lufia 1&2 (SNES)

I could list more but I think these listed here were the top favs and most popular in America.

Of course I have over 100s of video games in each category of the following: Sega, Atari, Arcade (Well some arcade machines), NES, Super NES, Game Boy (Normal, Color, Advance), Game Cube, and N64.

I believe after these systems, gaming systems changed.

It could be a graphics glitch, it did give the same amount as the purple orb.

By the way did you look at my updated bug thread.

Also there is a bug in World 2 zone 1 that allows me to go past the walls. I put a screen shot in the other thread.

Edit: Okay done. I’ll keep updating that thread, if I come by more bugs.

I am just confirming after hours of digging in out of the way, places that you run past, or areas that you would not even think of being able to get too, that the list mentions of what orbs you get in that zone.

Only the Black Orb is the only thing no one has discovered or has mentioned in this thread or Reddit (Until now) and you guys are just now finding the purple orbs.

Gotta leave some mystery for you guys to enjoy…

Think of it as “Treasure Hunting”. There’s booty to be had!

9:46 from “go” position to killing King Toad / 10:09 from map screen to chest. Doing it without the slingshot resulted in a 10:40 run, so a slingshot is worth around 1 minute.

http://youtu.be/g6Jf_1OXbN8

RNG on the boss can make a big difference. My previous kill for example was 10s quicker. I’ve also seen the boss start with a right stomp them do a tongue, then a left stomp then a tongue again – the fastest possible kill.

I made a few errors, which cost around 10 seconds. Factoring in that along with some good RNG, a sub 9 minute run should be possible.

Very impressive you almost made that run perfect, however you lost a couple of seconds.

Towards beginning in World 1 Zone 1, you did not jump over or go threw certain enemies, and half-way ran around them. You lost 0.5 seconds when running around and half-way is 0.35 seconds.

I would practice on the short cut, a couple of times you hit the roof twice in the same area, so in other words every time you hit the roof without moving forward, you lose 0.65 seconds. So in essence, when you get close to the hills you want to time it so when you jump forward you are auto going down rather than hitting the edge.

World 1 Zone 2, it was almost flawless but towards the end on the final boss you messed up on the boss with the sling shot on the last 3 shots.

Also I saw in the first boss you tried use the stick the same time as the sling shot, you can’t, you have to time it. So when you get use to when the boss is going to attack you have to stop the sling shot at the same exact time as when the laser is going to start and hit with the stick and move at the same time then go back to sling shot.

One other thing I saw on both World 1 Zone 1&2 bosses, when you are going towards the cage, you have to swing the stick in the air, with timing, you can get 2 hits when jumping forward then you switch to sling shot.

Now on World 1 Zone 3 Frog Boss, you did pretty much everything right but RNG (Random number Generator) plays a huge role in this part.

To get the first gem, you have to get lucky in one of “Wooden Stick” swings and get a 50 damage hit, followed by another stick swing.

This will give you a gem, just in time before the AoE Tongue phase.

Also I notice one thing in error, when he is about to hit the ground, this takes practice, you start swing your stick or sling shot at 0.5 seconds before the ground, so when your casting phase is complete, it should hit the frog king right on time.

Also there is one extra attack you get, when you see he gets the invulnerable buff, cast the sling shot at 0.5 seconds before the buff is gone, you will get one extra hit, while he gets up.

Of course after this, RNG will play factor here, smack that necklace for a gem fragment and should get a stomp, followed by another AoE tongue.

If you can fix all those minor errors.

Your Total time, including the intro and map screens should be (9 minutes : 37 seconds).

Good Luck!

New Bugs or existing after update

in Super Adventure Box

Posted by: Shadowlancer.7102

Shadowlancer.7102

Sorry Josh new or existing bugs!

If you die right when you warp to another zone, you stay dead permanently unless someone in your group revives you. (This was fixed on April 6, 2013)

You can use the whip to cause damage to the “Bonus Daily” chest. (Still Active.)

If you use the “Whip” when zoning to another world, your character will be standing in whip pose but have the “Pointed Stick” in your hand. Fixes itself when you auto-sheath your “Pointed Stick”. (This was fixed on April 6, 2013)

If you die during a Warp to next Zone, that results in a Game Over, you end up in the Game Over room with the Lava, Crushing Walls, and swinging pendulum already at you, with the bombs already indicating you exploded. (Still Active.)

Another Bug discovered, if you target the Frog King and Throw the “Fragment Gem” to fast, that means the gem is in the air, and then the frog king opens his mouth at the same time. The AoE Tongue phase skips and so does the collapse phase when you whack at him. (Still Active)

Edit: More bugs

Josh can you sticky this thread or make a thread at the top explaining the future plans on this?

This should minimize the amount of threads that ask about the skins, updates, or whether or not this will be a perm side addition to the game and to reassure those that “Flame and Frost” event, will not be effected by this.

Also can you please tell everyone for sake of keeping them happy, that when a small team did this, only 3 people did this. I don’t know WHY that is important to know but perhaps it will satisfy their curiosity.

You sure are seriously negative about this but I could argue that when Blizzard made World of Warcraft: Wrath of the Lich King, they admitted they copied a bunch Lord of the Rings environments and movies themselves and got away with it.

I don’t see Nintendo getting upset at this since they are clearly stating in reference they are trademarks from other games by Nintendo.

If anything, all guild wars 2 is doing is advertising for Nintendo.

Not only that, you can trade your Bauble Bubbles for Obsidian Shards, Crystal, or Philosopher stones dirt cheap.

If you are going for the Legendary.

Plus the skins in the chest are not bound to you which can be sold on TP.

I am so disappointed in you guys.

First, the stick weapon is that similar to the “Wooden Sword” from Zelda series.

The name “Moto” is actually a reference of the game “Dragon Warrior/Dragon Quest” with the Hero named “Loto” even the shield is similar in looks.

Bun-nado mini boss is a reference to Zelda on killing all the chickens but with Sab its with rabbits.

I’d say that Moto is more of a miyamoto reference, he even looks like him:
https://dviw3bl0enbyw.cloudfront.net/uploads/forum_attachment/file/57658/moto.jpg
Someone mentioned the aligators being a pitfall reference, the monkeys and snakes also look a lot like the ones on pitfall.

I am not disagreeing there, I am just shocked no one here noticed the slight name difference or shield look reference it made to “Dragon Warrior/Dragon Quest”. Even the name “Mia” is a huge give away.

However it was just a coincidence that Moto happened to be a closer reference to “Miyamoto” ’s name.

Speed Runners: Prove Yourselves!

Record Time Speed Run: (9:58)

World 1 Zone 1: (2:38) Includes Intro
World 1 Zone 2: (2:49) Short Cut
World 1 Zone 3: (4:31)

Weapon of Choice: Sling Shot (When Still)
Weapon of Choice: Pointed Stick (When in the air including while jumping)

Edit: I forgot to include some pointers, there is a bug with the dodge roll that when activated to avoid combat, you get a slight speed increase for 1.25 seconds.

Also I did not run around mobs, I went threw some or jumped over them.

Another note is I cheated and ate the water damage in zone 2 and zone 3 to skip some stones or areas.

When you are in the short cut area, you need to press forward during the falling to prepare the jumping mode, you are auto laying down. Stick to the walls towards the beginning to move slightly faster.

You also have to time the jumps, so in example if you miscalculate the jump forward in the short cut and hit the ceiling in an odd angle, you actually lose a few seconds.

When exiting the worm, hit forward and not wait to hit the ground.

Zone 1 and Zone 2 boss cages can be hit by the sling shot by distance.

When dodging the cage boss in Zone 2, you have to hit the pointed stick and jump to the side at the same time when you are in the air to keep hitting the cage, this also includes the initial mushroom jump towards the cage.

The same initial jump in Zone 1 is accounted for as well. Start wacking when moving towards the cage.

Also at each check point, use the bounce it gives to move forward.

In Zone 3, very hard to explain about this area but you have to have the candle ready to swing in the air to avoid the stun near check point.

There are mushroom jumps at the end that will take you to the second and sorta used mushrooms at the third check point.

Make sure you are at the top for the third check point to use the leaves above that crackle apart.

There is a log up there saves you time but jump diagonally down by dodge rolling at the end of the log, then make your ways towards final check point.

Use the bounce from the check point and go for the Frog King.

Here RNG plays, you need to wack that amulet to get a gem fragment and its first attack should be the AoE Tongue. If not then you failed.

If so then use the sling shot. Get another fragment, its next attack should be a foot stomp, then followed by another AoE Tongue.

That’s how I did this speed run.

Three of screen shots are not available to the public.

While the other three screen shots show areas that “Are” available to the public but there are slight modifications to color or model placement.

Some are too small to notice but they are there. While not entirely important, any NES or Super NES fan would go crazy over things like this because its an art itself and history when hacking into those old cartridges to find uncompleted or unused content.

1UP

Reason: Alot of old time players have played the old “NES”, “Atari”, “SuperNES”, “Sega”, and ect. It taught us how bugs exist, find hidden bugs, exploits, glitches, and tricks to bypass or play the game.

Not only that most video games, console or online, follows the same binary coding rule. I notice in this Super Box, its showing and teaching all the basics of simple puzzles, problem solving, secrets, exploring, and tricky jumping. Its also teaching players on timed attacks in simple mode.

Aka for short “Its teaching players how to understand and play GW2 better.” While the dodging is not necessarily needed in “Super Box” its showing how dodge exist in the old games by timing things.

So if anything, it contributes GW2, one way or another but it can never replace nintendo from our hearts.

In the second screen shot I see the pink tube flower looking thing and ran around to look for something similar thinking it was the same mechanics like “Mario” video games.

I ran this both on normal and easy mode and that single bauble is preventing me from my achievement, yet people claimed they have completed World 1 Zone 2 achievement. I just don’t see how.

There is a single, bauble located on the very top of the tree where the picnic area is at.

When you kill the final boss to clear the area, I was awarded the achievement without looting the chest’s Baubles, so the chest does not count.

This can be produced by standing near the small fountain and the wooden bridge, at the portal area, then right click holding and very slowly…. move the mouse left or right, you should be able to see 2-3 or 4-5 blue moa birds.

Right I am embarrassing myself because I believe that the weapon that is claimed by Developer to make a statement that is suppose to be “best-in-slot”; is just an item for cosmetic?

A legendary that takes a insane amount of farming, time, and gold; just purely as a cosmetic for a digital item.

Do people realize how bad that is for owning a Legendary then or are we so wrapped up around Arenanets thumb that people cannot see past this.

I mean what makes a legendary so much better versus a World of Warcraft selling you a flying Unicorn for 35 bucks?

No developer would say an item is “best-in-slot” unless mathematically it provides a boost to your character, to a group, or to a raid over the course of time.

If the developer actually meant, “Best-in-slot” as a cosmetic item, that would be the dumbest statement a developer can give over a topic of item progression.

There for, you have to rule out that a Legendary is a Cosmetic.

You can argue all you want but clearly you are missing the point.

Edit: https://www.guildwars2.com/en/news/linsey-murdock-unveils-new-high-end-ascended-gear/

Quote: Legendary weapons, which are currently on par with Exotics, will be upgraded to be on par with Ascended weapons at the same time that we add Ascended weapons to the game. Thus Legendaries will remain “best-in-slot” items.

Since Legendaries are always always a few stats above, no matter how miniscule it is, if you ever had played stat based game or using the common MMO WoW, a single stat makes a difference.

So while @inbetween.5623 argues it will be on par, if something was on par, if would never be stated as “Best in slot” by the devs unless it had a couple stats above it.

Farming materials for Legendary that will always be BiS no matter what patch or doing the puzzles in WvW with lame people who farm these areas.

What was the point of adding legendary material in PvP for a PvE weapon? Its certainly not fun and goes against what Arenanet said in the beginning.

Yet no matter many times this topic comes up, you would think that if people are still complaining, what a bother Legendaries are and no longer a cosmetic, it would be a huge hint hint that after so many months, this might hurt the reputation of GW2.

What a game flaw this became to be the biggest mistake Arenanet made as a decision to be the core of their game play.

However, could you lore developers comment why a major lore change was done in Black Citadel?

I remember specifically before the area was blocked off and became removed during BWE #2 and #3 about the Charr was on a break through on a war changing ghost killing weapon, (Note: Not to be confused with the Iron Legion Charr personal story), and that top priority top secret Charr characters were working on the weapon.

This area was located in the jail area and the path way is now blocked by Coal. The pathway would lead to down a ramp and you would meet a single Charr Guard NPC that was guarding a portal behind him.

When spoken too, you have three dialog options. One was about asking about the area. The second option was lieing to the Guard that you were allowed access. and the third option was about him.

Specifically if you asked past the part of whats going down there, you would get a smart butt reply of, “Do you hear that? Yes. That means they are not done working on the weapon. When the noise stops, then you can view the weapon, until then this a restricted access only area. Now leave before I throw you into the brig!”

Second option would lead about him being sarcastic about being one the famous charr leaders and denying you access.

The third option was another sarcastic reply of why he was there and in such a way like he had a choice in the matter and enjoys his job. Then shoos you off in an ugly soldier tone.

This has been bugging me for many many months and would like a detailed description of what it was for and where it was going to lead to before it canceled. I would hate it if this became one of those gaming mysteries.

Any comments?

Not the perfect website I have to say, I can see where its easy to find people to self join for dungeons and fractals, horrible way to find people for specific meta events.

The Sever Population is indeed misleading. I have revisited, after being gone for 2 months, every zone to finish up bugged achievements or achievements that were bugged in meta s at the time and are supposedly fixed, and find hardly any players.

There is no one spamming for looking for group or more for dungeons, no one forming for Fracs beyond level 3, no guild recruiting happening, and not even just useless talking in Lion’s Arch for hours. (This does not include overflow in LA 50% of the time).

I been trying to find anyone to do a meta achievement in Blood Tide and its just dead silence.

The gem cost to transfer based on accounts I guess?, is misleading.

Guesting is fine and all but its not really helping.

I really doubt merging would help because since there is no subscription fee, you really arn’t inclined to play or feel that you need to play because you payed for a monthly.

So without that, there is no real reason to have a PvE guild.

I do not like standing around for 5+ hours looking for people or a PvE guild and get no results.

Nor people do not realize, just because Frost and Fire patch is coming, once they storm threw that content, the veteran players will just disappear until the next patch.

Going to give it a few more days before I declare the game in my game review report, pretty much dead to the point that server mergers may happen, though it would not fix it.
