Anthony can’t you at least disable him from the bounty list? I’ve had sotzz 3 times in a row on t2 bounty and we have failed them because his despawn timers are broken (disappearing way too quickly).

So last night we had sotzz 3 times in a row on t2 bounty (lol the odds of that) and we figured he’s actually broken. He does not stay for 1 minute after breaking him out of the barrel in fact he is despawning 5-10 seconds after breaking him out. We found him 3 times, but he despawned during chatting with him to activate, the 2nd and 3rd time after being broken out of a barrel despawned very quickly. Sotzz is broken.

Komali is a big problem when random pugs can jump into the fight, make the boss harder and we lose because of pugs. All it takes is one person to constantly attack komali and no one can kill it. Plus these bounties make no sense why is there an escape time limit or the 15 minute time limit when the bounties just go back to walking around in circles. Just everything not fun was thrown into bounties.

I hear what you are saying and there is a nice little statistics formula for doing sampling and determining whether or not something is a problem or not(can’t remember the name).

I feel that point was reached(during the karka event period) because of the pinned thread about precursors becoming out of reach. So Anet does recognize it as a big problem and tried a band-aid, but that ended poorly.

Now that i think about the whole precursor situation more in depth the T6 mats and lodestones will become an even bigger problem as more people will want to make legendaries if the hardest part isn’t that hard (or won’t be made as hard with a scavenger hunt). I guess it’s better to peg the problem on precursors rather than the overall design at the moment.

The meat of my post that i was trying to get at was: Why hasn’t this solution(or at least some variation) gone through yet? I’m trying to figure out logically a reason for this.

Because while a precursor is high priority for you, it’s not broken enough for ANet to rush for a solution that may cause more problems than it solves and delay other content? I can think of several more reasons, but that’s my front runner right now.

Give me more then, because it is not just me who is in the exact same situation and have given input on this over time in numerous threads. Also any solution will probably be considered “rushed” because hind-sight does that, in fact I consider the band-aids were rushed.

I should clarify: By announcing the scavenger hunt being implemented, let’s say June, a double-shock will occur where the speculators start to force prices around rapidly, and then the prices shift again when it’s implemented since people will see what it actually is. So therefore, not announcing it will reduce the overall fluctuation of the prices. This might be considered better for the in-game economy to the developers. Personally, I couldn’t care less if they announce it or not, but I can see some reasoning as to why they chose to do it this way.

Okay that makes more sense.

Never said I was against the idea. I support it wholeheartedly. If the developers have any sense, the precursors from the scavenger hunt will be account bound to keep people from doing the quest or whatever for a quick buck. A forge recipe that gives a precursor should also remain account bound. No argument here.

The meat of my post that i was trying to get at was: Why hasn’t this solution(or at least some variation) gone through yet? I’m trying to figure out logically a reason for this. Because we all know the weak attempts at just chugging a few precursors with the karka event box or adding a new way of rng from guild missions were not going to fix the problem directly.

Edit: It feels like back in warhammer online When Mark Jacobs(mythic entertainment president) said “aoe is fine, quit whining” Then he got the sack. I feel like history is repeating itself.

The “scavenger hunt” was not promised for the Jan-April months. I believe John Smith said that any news about the scavenger hunt being implemented soon would “shock the market”, which he doesn’t want to do.

Last we heard about this was a few months ago was that it was essentially in the brainstorming phase back then. I doubt we’ll get any updates as to it’s progress due to the whole shocking-the-market thing, so the only real option here is to wait. If you’re willing to be patient (no offense intended, but it doesn’t seem that way), work on everything except the precursor for your legendary(s) and just wait for the scavenger hunt to save some coin.

Right, but it’s been 7 months, if waiting 7 months isn’t enough time. I don’t know what is an appropriate amount of time. I have everything else, but the precursor because i refuse to farm 600-700 gold to buy the colossus. I also refuse to buy 3rd party gold because there’s no point in finishing a legendary if it would be taken away from me if they found out I bought 3rd party gold.

Not to mention it’s a market who cares about “shock.” A market will still correct itself and life will go on. Also by saying “we aren’t doing anything” makes the prices go up even more and they become even more unreachable and is the same thing as “shock.”

From the sounds of the whole “scavenger hunt” it meets the exact same end I want to see. Except my way will probably require more work than looking at an eventual dulfy guide for it.

So what exactly is the problem with adding in a recipe that doesn’t involve rng to getting something account bound?

So remind me again, why?

Shuguard.7125

Why? After almost 7 months do we still not have a way to work on precursors that does not involve rng? It could be from a vendor for 100 guild commendations, 100 laurels, 250 ectos and 250 obsidian shards for some kind of account bound reclaim ticket for an account bound precursor. I just want a way to work for it fairly.

I’m all for challenging content and fun content. But time limits take away from the fun and challenge. Remove the time limits from guild missions and they will be more fun. I’d rather lose to a skill based fight than to lose to a time limit. Then you could change it so if a certain number of fights are lost then the mission can fail. A time limit is a pathetic excuse for a design.

Guild bounties - bounty hunt time

I’d like to get this added but that portion of the screen is getting a bit crowded. We’re looking into other options as well, such as moving the missions panel to the top level list of tabs or somehow displaying it on the main page.

Have you guys looked at an option of making an alliance system similar to GW1 guild- alliances? Then you could make a pop up on an alliance notice board that x guild is doing guild bounty, then they could post information from there into alliance chat. This also helps smaller guilds who don’t fully have the numbers to the higher tiers.

Dailies are a punishment to some

in Guild Wars 2 Discussion

Posted by: Shuguard.7125

Shuguard.7125

I agree with the OP and i think dailies are now a chore because the only way to get laurels is through dailies and monthlies (i don’t have a problem with monthlies personally). The dailies aren’t hard, just tedious, but i always have to keep up with getting the daily done before reset otherwise i lose my progress (and a chance at a laurel) and have to start over.

Personally i’d love to be rewarded for laurels for just playing anything like achievement tied laurels. Say complete lvl 30/60/80 story quest on a toon, explore a place, etc. Just not tied to the daily. I feel like the daily should be separate from laurels.

1. in short, it won’t matter to me why we roll a fast first. I just do not want to do dredge. It’s just poorly designed and a giant waste of time. I’d prefer it to be a large amount of dredge that do not respawn. Rather than a large amount that do respawn.

2. keep as skins or make em consumable so we don’t have to waste stones.

3. higher levels should get more rewards, nuff said.

4. can’t comment, i don’t see much need to go higher than 30 at the moment.

5. more variety is always a good thing.

6. The balance is really whacky, for example dredge will take over an hour, but swamp or water can take less than 15 mins.

7. agony is okay, just the formula is weird. at 26 with 25 ar i only take 500ish damage on jade-maw agony. at 30 with 25 ar i take about 30k damage from jade-maw agony.

8. I think the rewards are good, but there needs to be another use for pristine relics, because i only play my guardian as a main i just pile up stacks of pristine relics with no use after getting the rings i want.

alts? yes, I’d prefer 5 hours of grinding vs going through a bunch of fractals. why does it matter to you?

because what you are describing is like bashing your head against a wall and complaining it hurts. You are free to hurt your head as much as you want, but do not expect anyone to take you seriously. Also they probably didn’t nerf the loot, you probably just have bad luck and need to farm more. This should also probably be in the dungeon section rather than the discussion.

wait you’d go through the trouble of solo’ing for over 5 hours, but you couldn’t just bear through a level 1 and 2 in probably less than half the time? Also if you are complaining about not finding a good backpiece(and specifically wanting a fractal back piece) you only need 1 vial essence to make any of the book/ quivers (you wouldn’t need the infusion since you don’t seem to want to go past level 1). So i don’t see where you need to farm multiple vials unless you are making it for multiple characters.

Quest-system vs. The Task-system

in Guild Wars 2 Discussion

Posted by: Shuguard.7125

Shuguard.7125

I find that hearts are a nice improvement over quests. But i dislike that they have menial tasks which give no exp like repair certain objects just there to fill up the bar. In some cases for hearts i’ve found the only good way to complete the heart was the no exp route. My favorite ones have to be the gimmicky kind of hearts where you transform or use a unique object.

My only gripe with dynamic events is that they are not up 100% of the time like quests(by this i mean you walk into a hub and load up on stuff to do. There is no downtime unless you need to backtrack, but it still gives something to do rather than stand around). Or i need a group to complete certain ones, but i can’t find a group because the zones are empty. Personally I feel like events should pop up bigger on maps(or have an adjustable option) and have smaller cooldowns on them.

What exactly is an exploit?

in Fractals, Dungeons & Raids

Posted by: Shuguard.7125

Shuguard.7125

Well lets say this. If trash mobs weren’t an annoying hindrance i think people would exploit less. For example Lets take the path 2 ship. Would a group really want to fight the annoying inquest guys who stun players for well over 5 seconds on a channel and deal with the other trash mobs nearby? Or take a no risk road and get the same end result. Humans take the path of least resistance for a good reason. This proves a flaw in game design.

Now i’m glad that you actually fixed boss triggers with the last patch robert, but that’s basic stuff that should have been in since launch (referring to skipping to the last boss of a dungeon).

So what i’m getting at is, dungeons shouldn’t be a hassle, you can have interesting boss mechanics or mob mechanics, just don’t waste the players time with menial tasks and do not create mobs that cripple players and take away playability. Nothing is more frustrating than to be stopped from playing the game.

PS. whoever does invisible walls needs to step their game up. Whoever designs the art or object textures in maps needs to not make things climbable. Finally whoever makes the static objects like graveling mounds needs to fix those hit-boxes those are pretty horrendous.
