I made a previous thread about that, but i couldn’t get a dev response on how two precursors of the same type were handled. But knowing how bad the rates can be i assume there is a coin toss to decide what is the precursor(if there are two greatswords).
I doubt they would put extra code in, they are probably just items on a table.
Considering it deals with a very high quality item worth hundreds of gold I expect they would. Anet’s code can be sloppy at times, but they are being extra careful for something that could possibly damage their precious economy.
i kind of like them being rectangles. If i was missing a section in a zone i could easily look and see if i didn’t have a smooth corner. Which would be an obvious hint i was missing some part of the world.

The chance isn’t much different from rares and exotics, but an exotic can be 6 to 10 times more valuable on the tp than a rare. If i can get maybe 1 or 2 more attempts off of selling an exotic. Then surely it can be more worthwhile to sell the exotic and get more rares.
No and i never will. The chance of getting something really good out of those boxes is too abysmal. Let me put it this way, when i played tera recently and got 11 keys for free for their rng boxes i got over 1500 gold worth of end game materials (which is probably equivalent to 200-300 gold in gw2). So until gw2 decides to stop worrying too much about their economy and starts to add worthwhile items to the game or the boxes i won’t spend another dime.
I also honestly think they care too much about the economy to the point where it’s starting to hurt the game.
cause math is hard. I dunno why they split up the stats in that funny way. I guess it is so you can compare an exotic piece with its upgrade slot to the ascended version.
Can’t wait for you to see what I’m working on now. You may never leave it.

but i do love the visuals and atmosphere of the hidden garden and i think my personal favorite has to be scavengers chasm because i always bring people there to watch em suffer a little.

throw exotics on alts or stack up on sturdy gathering tools. Nothing else is really that good, unless you want the salvage kit so you don’t have to take up space for the monthly salvage.
think of it like this, it’s like 400,000 people trying to get a cheeseburger at mcdonalds with only one person at the register and one “cook.” You could have 3 registers and 3 cooks but it’s still a lot of people wanting a cheeseburger at once.
All chests are not created equal, the dragon chests and temple events will have a slightly better loot table than other chests found about the world. But MF only affects monster kills. Also your sample size for testing this theory is way too small you need at least 30 or more trials to get a good idea if magic find works on chests or not(which it shouldn’t).
There is something here that got my attention, these two setences: “We did fix a few bugged recipes that were rewarding Legendary precursors more often than they should have been” and “The recipes for throwing in level 80 exotics have not changed at all”.
If you pay attention to the last one, it means that there are different recipes for level 80 exotics, then some level 80 exotics may have a better chance than others.
The first line was referring to the godskull weapons which could be mass produced very quickly(low amounts of karma) where you could make a lot of exotics and precursors from it.
The second one was probably along the lines of confusion about the percentage chance of getting a precursor buffed or not.
The only two parts that matter for a precursor attempt are the level and quality(rare/exotic) named does not count since it’s lvl80 and exotic.
depends on what you mean by tough, but in general melee have to be more alert and focused then ranged. Generally ranged is a lot safer, unless the mob or boss is made of reflects.
The mesmer also can do a huge reflect build with wardens, feedback and another move(can’t remember the name off the top of my head).
The flip-side is you cannot face tank with Mesmers (as this is another problem with Guardians as they are simply too hard to kill even with their low HP), and I’m pretty sure you can never (might get close) reach the area wide, whole team safety of Shield which requires utterly no investment in to be used to great effect. Of course, you bring Time Warp so that’s nice.
face tanking with a mesmer would require a phantasmal defender and a few other utilities so they probably can’t do both at once, but they can do both fairly well both and could have time warp.
Also feedback is as big as shield of avenger the move i can’t remember is almost the same(little z axis issues) as wall of reflection and if you line of sight yourself with the warden(while he’s channeling) at the bosses feet then mesmer could technically be better at reflecting, not to mention time warp.
Edit: the move i couldn’t remember was temporal curtain.
Okay to start i know about throwing greatswords into the forge and getting a precursor (rare, exotic, levels and all that stuff) What i do not know is how is it determined when there are two greatsword precursors.
My question pertains to the mystic forge and the process of trying to get either of these greatswords (this may require a dev response).
So if i actually get the event of a precursor to occur does that mean I had twice as many chances for a precursor since there are 2 possible outcomes from greatsword precursors?
Little math to elaborate: lets say dusk = 1/1000 chance, dawn = 1/1000 chance.
dusk chance + dawn chance = 2/1000 (or to simplify) 1/500 chance of getting any of the two precursors.

Edit: This question is trying to determine how you get either precursor, not the process of throwing stuff in the forge, but how is the precursor determined if there are two in the greatsword pool.
yes, in this example they would all gain 1 level (unless those people at 50 need to complete 51(in this case the 50’s wouldn’t go up and they would get karma)).
When this eventually gets patched in the jan update.
I don’t think dungeons in this game might be for you and i’ll be honest they are slower paced. You might want to try some of the really hard paths(maybe not arah path 4).
In the future I’ll keep any named shields I receive until I get 4. I’ve heard chances are better with named exos.

I’ve seen this happen usually on the grawl fractal for some on jade maw. Best advice i can give is to kite away as best as possible, but not getting too far away from the group. For melee i would usually back off and switch to range and try to keep myself up as much as possible. Best i can say is play more defensively, but you should generally maintain focus on boss moves.
I’m expecting an official response on this. And I hope it’s a “no”.
Of course doing it 500+ times would be extreme, and it’d certanly involve some kind of glitching to get that many tokens.
Buf for example, between my brother and I (we share account) we have a full bank slot only to save AC, TA and CoE tokens we don’t really need. Would it be exploiting if we use them to get a profit?
It’d be lame if it’s considered as an exploit. It takes way more time and effort than buying 2k of any mat and selling it at a higher price.
Because you put in time and effort to get it in this fashion it can’t be considered an exploit. Now if you could get tokens extremely fast and could acquire ectos very quickly then it would possibly be an exploit (probably for the dungeon rather than the purchase). But if you just do a dungeon run, grab 2 rares and salvage it isn’t an exploit. Now if you find a particular bugged salvage item and start mass farming for that item then yes it would be an exploit.

We could use statistics here to determine an appropriate sample size to select. Lets just say if we wanted to be 90% confident within 3 percentage points. Using only basic salvage kits(25% chance for rare mats) you would need a 564 sample size.
note: This would mean we’d need a prior test. Or accept the salvage kit value as 25%
But the answer the OP’s question. No it is not an exploit to salvage rares for ectos given by dungeon vendors.
So, as soon as you equip it, a 10 second countdown timer starts, then at the 10 second mark, it checks if there’s a condition to remove, if not, starts the 10 second timer again?
1. People left because they maxed out early and ran out of stuff to do. There was a problem with some players and their views of gear treadmills and ascended gear. So some people left.
2. no dueling.
3. slightly more balanced.
4. depends what you mean by that, so far arah path 4 is the probably the only real mess, but everything else is okay.
5. There’s ascended which helps a bit so far rings and a backpiece to work on to go along with the fractals of the mist dungeon which gets progressively harder. Oh and there’s a new zone to run around if you like.
